just finished searching

Abigail Warner's flat.
They found a journal

that she'd started a few months ago,

and there's references
to all four suspects in it.

They're going to scan it
and send it over.

I spoke to Abigail's GP.

She's had therapy
on and off over the years.

Started in her early 20s.

I think what happened at Hardens

cast a bit of a shadow.

She suffered anxiety
and some depression.

So why come all the way here,

to a hotel where the people
who bullied you are staying,

all these years later?

and toxicology came through -

confirms Abigail Warner's death
was due to drowning,

we just witnessed,

when you were in her room
the previous night

and realised that would be
a method of murder.

So when you visited her
the next morning...

...I think you made an excuse
to go to the bathroom.

Once you were alone,

you took the powder from the capsules,

and when you went back to the bedroom,

sneaked them into her water flask.

Now, it wouldn't take too long
for them to start working,

so I assume you kept an eye on Abbey.

And by the time the sleeping pills

were taking effect,

Abbey had had her swim

and was heading back
to her room, feeling...

Here we go.
...suddenly drowsy.

You'd obviously noticed
that Abbey wore a smart watch.

You'd worked out

how you could just delay
her death in some way.

Then you could give yourself an alibi.

But how?

It's my Inspector who worked it out.

In the photo Abbey took of herself

the night before the murder,

there's an airbed seen floating
on the pool behind her.

When I searched the storage area
by the swimming pool,

it was deflated.

Exhibit B.

When Abbey was out cold,
you did two things.

Firstly, you inflicted
a small wound to her head,

so that when her drowned body
was recovered,

we'd assume she banged her head
on the bottom of the pool.

You then moved her body onto the airbed,

which is what caused
the abrasions on her skin.

Then you pushed
the airbed into the pool.

Once she was in place...

you began to let the air out.

Having left Abbey like this,

you needed to make sure
no-one discovered her.

With the pool having
already been cleaned,

there would be no reason
for the staff to go down there,

and the guests were all at breakfast.

But just in case one of them
suddenly decided to go for a swim,

I think you put out the sign

stating the pool was closed
for cleaning,

so if anyone did approach,
they'd turn back.

That's right.

When Cress and I got dawn
to the pool at half eight,

the sign was still out.
Seemed odd.

That can't be right.

This left you one more task
to complete -

give yourself an alibi.

So you took Abbey's key,
headed back to her room,

and made it appear
as if you and she were arguing.

But I just need you to tell me
what you're doing here, Abbey.

But what the maid really heard...

Fine! Forget it.

...was just you.

You left the room, making sure
that you were noticed,

and went and joined
your friends for breakfast,

here at the restaurant.

Meanwhile, the air seeped out
of the airbed

keeping Abbey afloat,
until it became waterlogged

and sank to the bottom of the pool...

...leaving Abbey face down
and unconscious in the water.

And that's how she drowned...

...dying at 8.15 exactly,

while you were surrounded
by a restaurant full of witnesses

who would all confirm

you were nowhere near
the scene of the crime.

I assume after you and Amelia
discovered the body together,

you waited for her to go
and get some help,

before removing the deflated airbed

from the pool and putting it
back in the storage room.

Abbey's water flask has gone
to the lab for testing,

and we all know
what the results will be.

The one thing you didn't bank on

was that Abbey
was one step ahead of you.

I believe, as she walked

from the beach to the pool that morning,

the sleeping tablets
starting to take effect,

she realised
something was terribly wrong.

So just in case,
she left the memory card

with the footage
from the night before on it

in a place we'd eventually find it.

All she wanted was for people
to hear what happened to her,

to know the truth of what you did...

...all three of you did...

...and now they will.
