our local tide animals,

mostly sea stars and sea anemones.

Now, if you were to touch
one of the sea anemones,

you might notice they feel a
little sticky on the outside

and that is actually
them trying to sting you.

But not to worry because
your skin is way too thick

to be affected by their stingers.

Lots of different types of
sea stars in the tide pool.

The larger, more colorful ones

are the ochre sea star and
these small red slimy ones,

those are leather sea stars.
