You know, in a couple days,
me and Tammy

have to check-in
with the doctor,

and I'm really worried
about that

because the last time
I had seen Dr. Smith is when

I got down to 380,
got approved for surgery.

Three seventy-nine and a half.

Great job, man.

The next week, I had leg surgery

to remove a boil from my leg.

Six weeks of sitting
on the couch,

ended up gaining 40lbs back.

When we buy food with the big
packages like this we buy,

we're gonna have to cut them
into smaller packages.

Now, I measure out my food

to where it's, like,
a cup of vegetables.

A cup is all I'm gonna be
eating all together.

[Chris speaking]

And this is Tammy's
first appointment

since she's left rehab,

so I hope she stayed on track.

[Brittany] So,
what do you think is going on

with Tammy
since she's been back?

[Chris]
When she first come home,

she was all about
staying to herself

and staying motivated
to lose weight.

But now, that she's had
time to settle in,

she's more worried about
being with this guy

than staying on her diet.

I'd have a talk with Tammy
about her new boy.

And now, I recently
found out online

that he throws parties

for big women, you know,

so I feel that he has
personal agenda

to make money off her following.

Approaching Tammy about
anything is kinda difficult.

[Brittany] Mmm-hmm.

You know, we made
a comment about

why would you date somebody

that said if you got
below 300lbs,

that they were leaving?

Hmm.

So, that pretty much tells me

that she ain't been
doing nothing but eating.

The worst part about Tammy is

she wears her heart
on her sleeve.

Anybody that seems to give her
a little bit of attention,

she falls head over heels for

and you try to step in
between her and that person,

hell has no fury
as a woman in love.

I truly believe that

Amy starting to have
what Tammy wants in life

and she's somewhat jealous.

So, she's either gonna choose

get healthy and live longer,

or stay fat and be happy
in a relationship.

But the doctor only said
she only have

four, five years to live
if she stay big.

Tammy is looking for love
in all the wrong places.

I just hope this new boyfriend

hasn't caused any problems
with her diet.

Tammy and I have a follow-up

doctor's appointment
with Dr. Smith.

If Tammy starts slipping
on her diet,

she will gain weight
rather quickly

and not even realize it.

So, this is gonna be
the moment of truth for Tammy.

we're working on things,

trying to keep her mobile.

Sometimes her attitude
is a challenging thing.

to do some kind of mobility.

we really didn't know
how to clean

because grandma usually

not to want company

But that's not
what I want for Gage.

Here's a thing that I found,

certified organizers.

Now I got a kid,

I want the house
to be clean for him.

I wanna do everything in
my power to make Gage happy,

so I need to get
my life in order.

I had cheat day yesterday.

the other day.

If Tammy's weight
starts going back up,

good she's doing on her diet,

but then contradicts herself
about some cheat days.

she's probably gained weight,

because she usually

of a cheat day or week she's had

is he could tell me
I'm not accepted

for the surgery anymore.

[Tammy] Why do you think that?

[Chris] Well, because
I've gained weight.

You know, to get approved
for the surgery,

and then have, you know,
health issue emergency,

and then you end up gaining

some of your weight back sucks.

If Dr. Smith tells me that
I can't have this surgery,

it would be devastating.

Going into this appointment,

I know I've gained weight,

a lot of things
going through your head

about what you should have done

or what you could have did.

But now you got
to walk into the doctor

I am the bariatric surgeon

for both Chris and Tammy.

I haven't seen Chris
and Tammy in a few months.

I know Tammy has been in rehab.

Chris has had some health
issues as well with his leg,

but as soon as I see Chris,

I can tell
that he gained weight.

So, I'm a little concerned

about what Chris
may weigh in today.

going on with you.

The last doctor's appointment,

an abscess popped up on
the inside of my upper thigh.

they removed it. But, I mean,

it slowed me down a whole lot.

There was almost eight weeks

and nothing but sitting down.

I couldn't really do nothing
but walk to the bathroom.

weight on during that time.

when I weighed in at Tammy's,

I don't even know how I gained

because I've been
on a strict diet

and I exercise more.

And so, I'm hopeful
that we can get Chris

back on track
so we can get him the surgery.

He's been working
for this for a long time.

have liked to see Tammy

stay in the rehab facility
much longer.

But ultimately,
it's her decision.

that she can do this on her own.

if she doesn't do something

about the weight.

all that stuff?

She did make progressed in rehab

the intention of that.

But rehab is not real life.

I want Tammy to show herself,

as well as me that she can do

some basic requests to lose
some weight on her own

and be motivated enough
to do that,

so she can have surgery.

When I met you
the very first time,

we were aiming right
for around 550.

- is we've got to head there.

In a short amount of time,
we can lose some success

and we don't want that
to happen.

on food addictions and things.

everything that you can

to them and what
you're struggling with.

Seeing a therapist for Tammy
is vital for her success.

That's required
for anyone going through

the process to have
surgical weight loss,

but specifically, for Tammy
and her food addiction.

I need you to give me 75 steps
every day.

I can't be there with you
