[Episode 49]

You and I seem to be connected by an unfortunate fate.

I've treasured you as mine who's a student of Park Tae Soo,

and who he thought of as his daughter.

I meant it truthfully when I asked you to come see me

whenever you encountered difficulties.

I thoroughly resent you for creating the situation we are in now.

How did you become such an enemy with Jung Nan Jung?

How did you become a part of the Majority Faction and create a chasm between me and the King?

How dare you lie to me all this time?

Even though you knew everything about how your mother died

you concealed and deceived me completely.

You ignored the faith and affection I'd shown you

and humiliated me, the Queen Dowager.

No matter what resentment I receive from Park Tae Soo in the afterlife,

I can't keep you alive.

I've almost died countless time since I was born until now.

I no longer have a fear of death.

But nothing will change even if I die.

The King will correct the wrongs done in the past,

and will not stop punishing the Minority Faction for the way in which they have made a mockery in national politics.

What did you say?

At the end, he will know that the way you've killed

the innocent in order to achieve what you wanted

was a wrong choice and wrong decision.

Shut your mouth. How dare you speak that way in this honorable place?

I only hope that you don't come to your awakening after you've lost everything.

You are hastening your death willingly.

I will absolutely kill you.

I have been very grateful and appreciated the way

you treated me with care and affection.

Regardless of our unfortunate fate,

this is my true feeling.

Your Majesty, what's happened?

Is there a way to save Ok Nyeo?

If you don't release Minister Yoon and Jung Nan Jung,

Her Highness, the Queen Dowager, has no intention

of even revealing Ok Nyeo's whereabouts.

Is she suggesting making a deal over Ok Nyeo?

Yes, in order to save Ok Nyeo's life,

she's asking us to release Minister Yoon and Jung Nan Jung.

But if we don't get to interrogate them,

we will not be able to right the wrong done in the past.

I had no idea my mother would react in this way.

I should have told her of Ok Nyeo's identify.

I was short sighted.

Your Majesty, I regret to inform you but it is not a good idea

to release Minister Yoon and Jung Nan Jung so easily.

More than anything, that's not what Ok Nyeo would want us to do.

Then, are you saying we should give up on Ok Nyeo at this point?

No, we shouldn't.

We just need to find Ok Nyeo ourselves.

That's right, Your Majesty, that is the only option for us now.

Is Park Jae Seo out there?

Yes, Your Majesty.

Mobilize all the troops under your command and

search every inch of the Palace and find Ok Nyeo.

Yes, Your Majesty.

I want you to mobilize everyone outside of the Palace and look for Ok Nyeo.

Yes, Your Majesty.

- Move out! - Yes.

Search thoroughly!

Yes.

- Madame. - Thanks for coming. Good work. You may go now.

Yes, Small Madam.

Yes, Madam.

Who is she?

Yes, is it truly a shaman?

Yes.

That wench must have lost her mind.

How can she bring a shaman when her Lady is not even home.

I get chills thinking about it. That was truly amazing.

I've heard Lady Jung Nan Jung was taken to the Bureau of Investigations.

So, what will happen to her now?

Is this really the end of her?

If you want to get to the end, you will have to put more pressure on it.

What is this?

This is what's called an "Oh Bang Nan."

The talisman inside that pouch

will make you the main Lady of this house.

If you pray with all your might, all the energy from the sky to the earth will help you.

Have you found out.

Yes, Queen Mother has captured Ok Nyeo and has her in her custody.

Is that so?

Queen Dowager has told the King if he wants to save Ok Nyeo,

he must release you and Nan Jung.

So what did His Majesty say?

He is considering it seriously.

Ah, then things will work out now.

The King will not abandon Ok Nyeo.

Yes.

If you wait a little while, you and Nan Jung

will be released.

Your Majesty.

Yes, please sit.

Did Jung Nan Jung confess?

I'm sorry, Your Majesty.

I was unable to get her confession.

I heard that you were unable to find Ok Nyeo in the end.

Yes, Your Majesty.

What do we do now?

If we are to save Ok Nyeo, do we have no choice but to release Minister Yoon and Jung Nan Jung?

Your Majesty.

I have something to report to you.

Tell me.

Your Majesty, there is something I have not been able to tell you.

It has to do with Ok Nyeo's identity.

Ok Nyeo's identity?

Your Majesty, I believe you know Ok Nyeo's mother was a court lady from the Eastern Palace.

Yes, so?

Ok Nyeo's mother received the grace of King Joong Jong.

What?

Your Majesty, Ok Nyeo is a royal princess.

Your Majesty, she is your sister and a princess of this country.

Is what you are saying really true?

Ok Nyeo is really a princess?

Yes, Your Majesty.

Does she know this as well?

Yes.

When? Since when

did she know of this? And when did you know about this?

Your Majesty, please punish me for not letting you know of this sooner.

Please punish me and save Ok Nyeo.

Your Majesty!

What is the reason you couldn't tell me this sooner?

Ok Nyeo was concerned that if you were made aware that it was the Queen Dowager who was responsible

for killing her mother you would be greatly conflicted and concerned.

She wanted to reveal the truth when you had corrected the past wrongs

and she would no longer be a burden on you.

Was the Queen Dowager and Minister Yoon involved in this as well?

They already are suspicious which is why they are searching for information on Ok Nyeo's identity.

The reason why they kidnapped Lee Myung Eun was for this reason as well.

If they are aware of Ok Nyeo's identity, her life is in grave danger!

Your Majesty, please save Ok Nyeo.

As for Jung Nan Jung and Daegam Yoon Won Hyung, your humble servant, no matter what it takes, will find a way to deal with them!

For this time only, I beg you to save Ok Nyeo, Your Highness!

Jae Seo.

Yes, Your Highness.

I want to go to the Queen's palace quarters.

Yes, Your Highness.

Your Highness, His Majesty is here.

Invite him in.

Have a seat please.

Have you decided?

Yes. I will do as Queen Mother wants.

So, please release Ok Nyeo.

First, please release the captured Minister Yoon and also release Jung Nan Jung from the Office of Censor.

Once I've confirmed they have been released, I'll naturally release Ok Nyeo then.

Yes. I will do that.

Exactly for how long will you keep me imprisoned?

How about using some torture methods to interrogate me?

No matter what method you use, you'll not get any information from my mouth.

You, jerk! How dare you!

Shut up and listen to me carefully!

I vow that I will personally

punish you!

Release Jung Nan Jung!

What? Sir, what's happening?

I'm asking you to release her!

Yes.

Nan Jung!

My Lord!

Nan Jung.

My Lord.

Nan Jung.

Sit. Sit. Sit.

You've worked hard. You've suffered much.

My Lord, how did I get released?

Queen Dowager was very worried about you

and has captured Ok Nyeo because of you, and has also made a deal with His Highness.

Yes?

Joo Cheol Gi has found out that Ok Nyeo is a princess.

Once I knew, I told Her Highness the truth and she made the decision.

Mother!

- Madam. - Shin Hye!

Mother! Are you hurt in any way?

I'm fine. I've caused you to be worried.

By the way, My Lord, there's something I must tell you.

Yes?

Alright. What is it?

His Highness is now aware of Ok Nyeo's identity, so it will be even harder to get rid of her.

Although His Highness has released us now,

but Ok Nyeo who still has a hold of everything about us is still alive.

So, there is no guarantee that His Highness will not threaten us again.

That's true.

Moreover, those who oppose us, we can't just leave them alone for too long.

So what are you trying to say? If we don't leave those alone, are you suggesting another rebellion?

No matter what, as long as we can continue to live, that's not impossible, isn't it?

What? Nan Jung, how can you speak such nonsense?

In any case, weren't we the ones who personally enabled the enthronement of the King?

We've done it once, why can't we do it a second time?

Do you have a more specific plan in mind?

First, we have to make a good choice for the next successor to the throne.

Then we have to place our people inside the Eastern Palace, and after which, we'll think of what to do next.

However, about the choice for the next successor to the throne, will Queen Dowager agree with us easily?

Right now is not the time to worry about the Queen Dowager.

If we let this drag on, not only will we be in danger, but the Queen Dowager's life will possibly be in danger, too.

Who do you have in mind as the next successor to the throne?

Prince Deukheung's eldest son, Prince Hawongun Ijeon. (하원군/河原君 이정/李鋥)

Prince Hawongun? Alright, I got it.

In that case, first will be agreeing to a marriage with our Shin Hye.

Once we make Shin Hye the Queen, our work will be easy, too.

Yes, My Lord.

I will handle this matter discreetly.

The Queen Dowager has ordered your release.

You can go.

You can leave now.

Yes, Sir.

Sir, what's happening?

Why did the Queen Dowager release me?

Your Highness, His Majesty is waiting for you.

What are you saying?

Don't tell me my identity has been revealed to His Majesty?

I apologize, Your Highness.

In order to save you, we had no other option.

Sir!

Your Highness, Ok Nyeo is here.

Let her in.

Ok Nyeo.

Your Highness.

Your Highness, all along, your humble servant has not been able to tell you the truth.

Please punish your humble servant, Your Highness.

You can raise your head.

About the reason why you could not tell me the truth about your identity all along, I've heard it from Yoon Tae Won.

After I've heard about it, my heart feels much pain.

Your Highness.

I don't know how to begin asking for your forgiveness.

You, as a princess, had to lose your mother so cruelly,

had to live as a low status commoner, and grow up outside the palace.

Also, you had to be subjected to schemes and hardships from Daegam Yoon Won Hyung and Jung Nan Jung.

Everything,

everything is my fault.

Your Highness, please don't speak like this.

Everything is...

everything is due to my incapability.

Can you forgive such a person like me?

It's not like that, Your Highness.

Just to be able to assist you by your side,

your humble servant is already very grateful.

But, your humble servant has already committed a huge crime against Your Highness.

Your humble servant has heard of how Your Highness

has set aside your plan to punish Daegam Yoon Won Hyun and Madam Jung Nan Jung in order to save me.

Not only am I no help to you, I've become an obstacle to you.

That's not it. About punishing them, we can reconsider again.

So, don't feel too bad about it.

Your Highness.

I'll prepare a place for you here. From now on, please live in the palace.

That way I can protect you and not let anyone harm you.

No. No, Your Highness.

Your Highness, it's not time yet.

I will do so after I assist you in accomplishing your will.

Ok Nyeo.

Your Highness, please accede to your humble servant's request, Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Wow. Man Soo! This is so great!

Lucky you. Thanks for showing me around. See you.

See you, Noonim.

- Hey, Man Soo! - Hyungnim, you came?

I don't see Chun Doong.

He went to Songpa Port for a transaction.

Is something the matter?

Nothing's the matters.

Hey, Man Soo. You know your sister, Man Ok...

Is she doing well?

Of course.

But why do you suddenly ask?

You punk, do I really have to explain it myself?

Perhaps, are you interested in her?

Hey! If it was just interest, I wouldn't have come all the way here.

Hey, Man Soo. Whenever I think about Man Ok,

my heart feels like it's going to burst!

Man Soo, can't you help me out?

Hey, Jeong Soo!

What's with you? Why are you interested in Man Ok?

Hyungnim! What's it to you who I'm interested in?

What? This punk. You knew I had feelings for Man Ok.

Are you being for real?

Are you the only one with feelings for her?

I fell head over heels for her at first sight!

You! You're dead. Come with me, punk.

Wow, I'm so scared! Let's go! Go!

What a joke. My Man Ok already has someone, you punks!

Who is it?

Who else? It's Chun Doong.

You were looking for me, Mother?

Shin Hye, we've settled on a marriage for you.

Who is it?

Prince Hawon, the first son of Prince Deokhoon.

What?

I don't want that. A prince can't make a proper name for himself.

You don't know that.

Do you know what might become of Prince Hawon?

What do you mean?

He might soon ascend to the royal throne after His Majesty.

The royal throne? Yes.

So you could become Queen.

I will make that happen so you just need to go along.

Sir.

What brings you here?

Didn't I tell you not to look for me again?

Please go back.

Sir.

I am in the midst of a marriage talk.

Don't misunderstand.

I didn't come expecting anything from you.

Just that, before the marriage is set, I wanted to see you once.

I will soon be marrying Prince Deokhoon's first son,

Prince Hawon.

But... in my heart,

you're the only one.

Miss.

Excuse me.

What caused you to send message for us in such a rush?

What is the matter, Sir?

Prince Deokhoon's first son, Prince Hawon

and Lord Yoon Won Hyung's daughter are in a marriage talk.

- What? - What?

Then, that means...

Yes.

Lord Yoon Won Hyung is wanting to put Prince Hawon on the throne next.

Sir, you have been in contact with Prince Haseong.

Then, we made an error in judgement?

That's hard to say.

In the end, the choice will be made by His Majesty.

At any rate, they are moving fast so we can't slow down either.

Your Majesty, I brought Prince Haseong.

Your Majesty, have you been well?

Yes, Yeon.

Welcome, have a seat.

- Yes, Your Majesty. - Yes, Your Majesty.

So how is your mother and how are Prince Hawon and Hareung?

Yes, your majesty. They are all well thanks to your virtue.

I heard you were suffering in health.

But to see you so well-recovered, I am in such a relief.

Thank you for worrying about me.

Your highness, may I tell His Majesty what you told me on the way here?

No, please don't.

What is it about that this child is so embarrassed?

While we were talking, he brought up Han Fei essays.

Oh, so you have a lot of interest in politics, do you?

Not at all, Your Majesty.

I was just reading texts on law.

And when I met you last time,

I remembered you said Han Fei's essays were the greatest texts on law.

Forgive me, Your Majesty.

Not at all. I can't believe you remembered everything I said.

I'm so proud of you.

Your merciful, Your Majesty.

Alright.

Sir Gang Sun Ho has settled a safety place for you to stay.

We can go there right now, he said.

No, I'm alright. So tell him there's no need.

No, Your Highness.

Last time when Queen Dowager arrested you,

I was ordered to protect you better.

A safety house is better for me in protecting you,

than this place that's exposed to then, Your Highness.

What do you mean Your Highness?

Ok Nyeo, why is she calling you, Your Highness?

Ok Nyeo, what's going on?

You see...

Ahjussi, Mother Yoo Geum.

There's something I didn't tell you all this time.

What is it?

Actually, my mother, when she was a palace maid in the Eastern Palace,

she was graced by the Great King Joongjong.

What? Graced?

Then... you're...

Yes, the hairpiece my mother left that you had kept for me.

It was for the women Great King Joongjong graced.

So that's how I found out my identity.

You mean, you're a princess?

Yes, Mister...

I'm so sorry for not telling you earlier.

Oh my. Your Highness, Princess.

Princess.

Princess.

Please don't be like this!

I raised someone so precious as yourself, a princess,

in a prison where criminals come through.

My, princess, please kill me.

Princess.

Please, don't be like this! Nothing has changed.

I am still your foster daughter, Ok Nyeo.

No, your highness.

How dare could I do that?

Yes, princess.

No.

Ahjussi. Mother Yoo Geum.

Yea.

Hey there, Ji Chun Deuk!

Do you really want to be fired?

- What now? - What else?

Did I tell you to tidy the records on time or did I not?

The prisoners are in the cells but why aren't their names on the roster?

Oh, jeez. The prisoners locked up in jail aren't running away anywhere.

And it's not such a big deal that a few names are missing.

Hey! Are you done talking?

If you are so curious about their names, you do it yourself since you're the one dying to know.

That should do! Why are you putting your grasp on me like I'm a rat?

What? Grasp?

Hey! You talk funny. Are you nuts? Are you senile?

Yeah, I'm crazy. I'm senile. So what?

Hey, want to get beaten by a crazy and senile guy?

Yeah, let me hit you, punk.

Come here, punk. Come over here!

Come here! Hurry up! Come here!

You...

What's he doing?

Uh, uh really. Why are you acting like this?

Uh, what's up with you really.

Really, I saw how you treat Deputy Head?

What are you acting like that?

I have no reason to cow tow to him any more.

I am the adoptive father of the princess.

Why should I be bowing down to the Deputy Head of Jeonokseo?

Clerk Ji!

Ok Ok.

I was just playing with him because I dislike him very much.

Am I not entitled to enjoy what I'm entitled to anymore?

Your hard days are over too.

We only have to walk on the path covered with flowers from now on.

Aigoo, lady.

What do you mean Clerk Ji has gone crazy?

That bastard is short with me all of a sudden.

Treating me low, low and low. That's the only way to say it.

Why would Clerk Ji act like that?

You must be misunderstanding something.

Uh uh, that's not it. You haven't seen how he acts.

How can a Clerk challenge deputy head like that?

Does that make sense? It will shake the organize to its core.

This is something that should be reported to our superiors.

You want to report Clerk Ji?

Yes, we must.

Hey Chun Deuk, you've come at the just right time.

Do speak to the Head like you did to me.

What are you talking about sir?

Why are you being this way, sir?

What? What's subservient about his attitude?

How can he be more polite than this?

Sir, did something happen?

Hey you, why are you talking like this?

Talk to me like you did before. Come on.

Climb over me like you did before!

I have no idea what you are talking about, at all.

Aigoo, I'm going crazy.

Ah, I can see what's going on now.

Your head is full of nothing but how to accuse someone of

misbehavior and wrongdoings, isn't it?

You are the one who should be reported, got it?

Aigoo. Really. Hey, why are you being like this?

Why are you doing this to me?

Court Lady Han! Court Lady Han!

Han Sangoong.

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty, are you alright?

Court Lady Han.

Please endure for a moment, I will call the Royal Doctor.

Chief Eunuch! Chief Eunuch!

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty! Your Majesty!

Your Majesty! Your Majesty!

Your Highness!

What's going on?

His Majesty has collapsed again with his heart ailment.

What?

Queen Dowager.

How have you been treating him? Why did he collapse again?

I'm sorry, your highness.

What are you going to do if you are sorry?

Your highness, please punish me to death.

I don't want to hear the plead to die.

Your highness.

Then, what are we supposed to do now?

Your highness, I regret to inform you...

I regret to inform you but until he gains his consciousness

we have no other choice but to wait.

What?

I can feel his pulse,

so I don't believe he is in as critical a condition as he was before.

- Then... - I regret to inform you...

but after a while he will awaken.

Your Highness, Head of Guards is here.

Let him come in.

Did you bring it?

Yes, your highness.

These are the core personalities who are operating with the King.

They individuals responsible for actions against Minister Yoon and Jung Nan Jung

are on the list.

Daegam! Aigoo.

What's happening?

You will have to go out. The Queen Dowager is here.

Pardon?

Your highness, why are you here instead of calling for me?

How did you come here yourself?

I have something to tell you. That's why I've come.

Your Highness, to what do we owe this honour?

Let's go in and talk.

Yes, your highness.

Your highness, Young Ji has something urgent to tell you.

What's going on?

Queen Dowager has gone to visit Minister Yoon at his house in secret.

What? For what reason did she go there?

I don't know the reason but I'm certain it is something important.

Your highness, what is this?

It's a hit list.

Your highness, a hit list?

This is a list of people you need to get rid of.

[ Hit List with Yoon Tae Won and Ok Nyeo on roster ]

Your highness.

If the King finds out about this later...

We don't know when he will reawake.

Therefore, you must do it before then. Tonight.

You must get everything done, before the night is over.

I was able to have you released because I had Ok Nyeo in my custody

but if the King goes into action with another plan,

then we cannot foretell what is ahead of us.

I say it again,

the Majority Faction was involved in treason.

A treason.

A treason?

As long as the Majority Faction is near the King,

horrible things will happen over and over again.

We have to put an end to that once and for all.

Why are you hesitating. We have no time to waste.

You have to move the soldiers and bring them in.

This decision is in too much of haste.

We have not prepared any evidence of backup.

It's not like her highness to move in this fashion.

Daegam, you are frustrating.

The King has collapsed and the Queen Dowager issued an order.

We have no time to waste over this and that.

It's actually a benefit that the queen dowager has made such a decisive decision.

Once we get this done smoothly, we can set the successor

easily by us.

Are you like this because of Yoon Tae Won?

Why do you still care about him?

He put you under house arrest and he arrested me.

If you spare him, he will come to be obstacles.

Your Excellency, there's nothing to think about anymore.

You must kill him and Ok Nyeo.

Your Excellency!

Tae Won.

What is it? Lord Yoon Won Hyung is here to see you.

I have no reason to see him.

It looks really serious for you to say no.

I think you better go see him, Tae Won.

Did you check the hit list?

Then, you must saw that Yoon Tae Won and that girl Ok Nyeo are on that list.

Yes Madam.

Without regard to His Excellency's decision,

Ok Nyeo and Yoon Tae Won must be finished by you personally.

Do you understand these words? Yes Madam.

I will definitely kill Yoon Tae Won and Ok Nyeo.

You're here. Have a seat.

Did you clear everyone outside?

Yes, what's this about?

As your father, I came to give you one final advice.

Tell me.

You must leave the city right away.

What do you mean?

You must leave this place right now.

You must leave here quickly!

Don't ask me the reason. Every second counts right now.

Your Excellency.

It's my last plea.

Tae Won, this is the only way to spare your life right now.

So you must flee away from the city as soon as possible.

Your Excellency, I asked you, what are you talking about?

Tae Won, you must listen to me.

This is the last thing

I can do for you as your father.

Sir. You wanted to see me? Chief Lee.

Yes, what is it?

May I send Myeong Seon on an errand?

Myeong Seon needs to serve a customer right now.

No, Myeong Seon, you do as he says.

Yes, chief.

Man Ok, I need you to tell Ok Nyeo something urgently. What is it?

Tell Ok Nyeo I need to discuss something with her urgently, so have her meet me at Lord Gang Sun Ho's.

Yes, sir.

Who is it? What is this?

Your Excellency, we've received word of your treason.

The queen dowager has ordered for you immediate arrest and transport to the royal tribunal.

How dare you say treason.

What are you and the queen dowager scheming right now?

If you don't follow quietly, I am allowed to execute you on the spot,

by order.

What?

Do you think His Majesty will forgive such contemptuous acts?

I have already warned you.

Arrest.

Who paid you to do this?

What are you doing?

Your Highness. Sir.

Yoon Tae Won!

We must kill them!

Your Majesty. Your Majesty, are you awake?

Court Lady Han.

Your Majesty, I will bring the doctor.

Please wait a bit.

Sir. How is His Majesty?

Fortunately, he's just coming awake.

Something big happened outside the palace.

What? What do you mean?

What are you saying?

The queen dowager is arresting all the minister of Greater Yoon?

Your Majesty, the queen dowager and Lord Yoon Won Hyung ordered the royal palace army

to arrest all the ministers of Greater Yoon.

In the process, Minister Lee Jeong Myeong passed away,

and Lord Gang Sun Ho as well as other ministers like Lord Sung Ji Hun

have all been captured and locked up in the royal tribunal.

They truly killed Lord Lee Jeong Myeong?

Yes, Your Majesty.

What?

What in the world was the reason?

It was...

Your Majesty, the state councilor is here.

Your Majesty. Your Majesty, Your Majesty.

What a relief you are awake, Your Majesty.

Your Majesty, are you alright?

Ministers.

I'm sorry to tell you this while you are still weak.

What in the world

what in the world are you guys doing?

What are you doing that

you killed Lord Lee Jeong Myeong and you captured all the ministers of Greater Yoon?

Your Majesty.

It's treason. Treason, Your Majesty.

The Greater Yoon faction was plotting a treason.

Treason? What do you mean?

Your Majesty, the Greater Yoon faction used the chance when you collapsed

to raise their treason.

Shut up. What treason? It's absurd!

Release all the men you captured immediately.

Your Majesty, the Greater Yoon was harboring a private army

to carry out their treason. What private army?

Yes, your majesty. Gang Sun Ho and his followers who are mostly from spy investigator background

were keeping a large group of private army.

And we even found out their location.

However, that is not enough evidence for treason.

Morever, I never gave you order to dispatch the royal army.

However, your majesty, the queen dowager approved of it.

Shut up!

Is my mother the emperor of this nation?

Why do you mobilize the royal army on her order?

However, your majesty, it was a very urgent situation.

The queen dowager and we had no other methods.

I don't believe it.

I cannot believe what you say.

We can find out the details of the treason by interrogating the men we've captured.

I will definitely reveal their crime

thoroughly, your majesty.

Your Majesty, have mercy.

I think we lost them, Your Highness.

What in the world happened?

I didn't quite figure out the details either.

But it seems Lord Yoon Won Hyung has done this.

I saw at Lord Gang Sun Ho's residence,

how he was captured away by the royal palace army.

What? Sir Gang Sun Ho?

Yes, your highness.

And I was told by Lord Yoon Won Hyung, if I wanted to stay alive,

I must leave the city.

According to the palace maiden I planted inside the queen dowager's palace,

the queen dowager went to Lord Yoon Won Hyung's private residence.

He must have plotted this under the queen dowager's orders.

Did you find out?

Yes, Your Majesty.

Queen Dowager made a hit list.

What? A hit list?

I'm sorry, but Lord Lee Jeong Myeong and Gang Sun Ho

and Sung Ji Hun among all the high ministers of Greater Yoon are on that roster.

Hit list?

Your Majesty.

Are Ok Nyeo and Yoon Tae Won on that hit list too?

Yes, Your Majesty.

The two. What's happened to them?

They... I'm sorry, Your Majesty.

Princess and Yoon Tae Won's life or death cannot be confirmed.

Jae Seo, let's go to the queen dowager's palace. Prepare it.

But Your Majesty, your health right now.

No. I must go.

Your Majesty, the queen dowager is here.

Let her in.

You're unwell. Why are you out?

What's this ruckus? Treason?

Court Lady Han and Jae Seo, step outside.

Yes, Your Majesty.

King.

I'm so relieved you're awake.

But you should rest instead of being out here.

I'm alright now. But mother!

Yes, King.

I know about Lee Jeong Myeong and his followers.

They gathered a private army while you were collapsed.

To plot a treason, I heard.

As soon as I heard that news, I worried about you and ran here.

First, please have a seat, mother.

Those vicious men disregarded your mercy.

How dare they commit such an act that startles the world!

I just knew it when they started pulling you and I apart

that they would do something like this.

What great relief it is that the state councilor found out about it in advance to clear this.

If they will all go away now.

You wouldn't be shaken by them anymore.

And you could have a great reign.

So you don't need to worry too much.

State Councilor and I will take care of it.

Mother.

Go ahead and speak.

I know you cut off my hands and feet.

I know you plotted this to block my ruling.

What are you talking about?

But I will not reproach you anymore.

This is a royal throne you created in the first place.

You then mobilized my army

and killed my people, but how I can blame you?

King, watch what you say.

How are you framing me again?

The issue is that I am too

dull-witted to no limit.

The entire nation has suffering people. And I couldn't even protect my own people.

I'm just that pathetic.

King!

You are the one that made a dull-witted man like me a king.

So it should be your job to take back the throne as well.

Take back the throne?

What do you mean?

I will abdicate.

Abdicate?

I have some people in mind.

I will pass the throne over. So know that.

You're threatening me with the throne as your hostage?

I am not, mother.

I am telling you I will no longer harbor the throne.

You can't do that.

I will never permit an abdication, King. That won't happen.

Even if you don't permit it,

I will abdicate.

King!

Mother. I will not be able to live long on my heart condition.

So the ministers will accept my decision without a fight.

I will cast my decree.

So please allow me the chance to keep my last integrity,

and abdicate with your permission.

King!

I will take my leave now with that in mind as settled.

King. King.

Mother did wrong. Please take back your decision to abdicate.

This won't change anything.

King. King. I beg you.

King. This mother...

in order to put you on the throne,

you know what all I did.

You can't do this, King.

You can't put my entire life to vain like this.

Mother. Because of your greed, all those who were sacrificed,

for them, I must come off the throne.

King. King.

To console the souls of all those who died because of me.

If I could repent.

Not just the throne, but

I wish I could throw away my life for them now.

King. I did wrong.

I did wrong. So please.

Please take back your decision to abdicate.

My choice will not change.

King. King!

King!

King!

King!

Your Highness.

Your highness.

Hurry. Send the royal doctor.

Your highness. Wake up, your highness.

Your highness, please open your eyes.

Your highness!

Your highness!
