Jung Hwan saved the Minister of Justice Yoon Ji Sook in crisis.

I'll do my best to serve the Prosecutor General so that no mistake is done to you, ma'am.

He was promoted to the Investigation Chief of the Anti-Corruption Division.

Jung Hwan partnered with Yoon Ji Sook to save Ha Gyung.

Just because a dog bites, we can't fight with the dog.

Let's catch the owner.

He arrested Kim Sang Min, Chairman of Ocean Capital.

Say hello. She's the mother of my child.

Jung Hwan secured a written confession by Kim Sang Min on his corruptions.

The world won't change. Save yourself first.

For the condition of discarding Kim Sang Min's statement

Jung Hwan demanded Ha Gyung's release from Tae Joon.

If it gets out that my brother killed someone, how can I hang on to this seat?

I said, release Shin Ha Gyung!

After missing a chance to take down Tae Joon

Yoon Ji Sook tried to get a hold of Kim Sang Min's statement.

We still have a chance.

Ha Gyung heads to Jung Hwan's house to get Kim Sang Min's statement back.

[Episode 6]

Please let Mom, Dad and me live together for a very long time.

Mom!

Mom!

Mom...

For the one pack of strawberries I ate, I end up buying 10 packs for you.

Ye Rin, you have to think of me every time you eat this, okay?

Okay.

Mom! It's herb pills that a guardian of my patient bought for me.

It's really expensive!

She went through a lot on a cold floor for two weeks!

You sleep on a heated blanket. What herb pills do you need?

If you take this, you'll just gain weight.

You starved yourself for a month last year because you gained weight.

Okay, let's make some side dishes.

It's an acceptance letter from the international elementary school.

Review of the documents is complete.

Half of the students are native English speakers.

She'll have to get an English tutor for a couple of months to catch up before school.

Ha Gyung.

You won't let me find the statement, right?

You won't find this either.

I'll fly this far away.

Lee Tae Joon, Lee Tae Seop, Kim Sang Min...

I'm going to investigate them.

You think that's possible on your own?

You gave them the power.

You should get ready, Jung Hwan.

President Lee Tae Seop will go abroad.

Prosecutor General Lee Tae Joon will resign.

- That's enough for... - Why would you decide that?

[The Constitution] There is the law.

What do you gain from it?

Righteous society?

Ha Gyung, when my life goes well, it's a righteous world.

When my life gets twisted, it's a messy world.

Live a good life.

Close your eyes.

Cover your ears and only look at Ye Rin. Only your path...

Common people get arrested even for misdemeanors.

Lee Tae Seop is a murderer. He killed the researcher.

I failed to remove the tumor.

Consider that you have about three months.

Ha Gyung...

everyone dies.

The murder case of the researcher, the real owner of Ocean Capital.

It will take three, four months to investigate.

Lee Tae Joon, Lee Tae Seop, Kim Sang Min...

and you, Park Jung Hwan.

All of you will be arrested.

I can see my daughter start elementary school, right?

I want to nod...

I'll let you see Ye Rin's first day of school.

Please let me.

Please.

We didn't get to shake hands when we divorced.

I thought it would be really over then.

But I think I can do it now.

I had an education insurance for Ye Rin.

I paid in full, so starting next year, tuition and...

Did you receive this for ditching the statement?

Or were you promised the Prosecutor General's seat from Lee Tae Joon?

Get out.

I'm sure Kim Sang Min's money can do everything.

Get out!

Is this why you came back?

If you were going to live like this...

That's enough!

Get out.

Let's go.

He's not even well, having just left the hospital.

But he went everywhere in the cold wind to get you out!

Grandma...

Take her with you.

You don't need to come again! Hurry up!

Dad...

Dad?

Grandma told us to leave now.

Dad... open the door.

Are you upset, Dad?

Open the door please, Dad.

Dad...

I'll leave after I see you, please?

Can you please open the door?

Dad!

Dad!

Dad...

I'm leaving.

You have to come to my kindergarten graduation, Dad.

Dad?

I'll be right in.

Lee Tae Seop is a murderer. He killed the researcher.

Ha Gyung... everyone dies.

Ten, twenty years... No, until your last day...

I'll investigate you.

I mean it.

I got a first class for you.

It's a country with no extradition agreement

so don't even fart for a few years.

What about the money you said you'd have for me...

Hey!

Don't throw the glass at him.

If my brother's glasses break again...

our relationship will break a lot, too.

I put a wrong puppet on the seat and the whole company is shaking.

I've served... my whole life for you, sir.

I gave you the chance to serve me your whole life.

If it wasn't for your brother Lee Tae Joon, you wouldn't even make a senior associate.

You! You're a baggage to your brother and a disservice to me. Leave!

Kim Sang Min and Lee Tae Seop are in there.

- Secure the backdoor and seal the area. - Yes, sir.

Let's go.

I gave you the chance to serve me your whole life.

You're a baggage to your brother and a disservice to me!

The special team from the Central District Office?

Why would they knock on Kim Sang Min?

Whose order is it?

What?

[Retirement Speech]

It took me 30 years to climb up...

but it's a half day to go down.

What time is my brother's flight?

Chairman Kim Sang Min is arrested.

Prosecutor Shin Ha Gyung is on it.

What about my brother?

Shin Ha Gyung is appointed as the aide to the Assistant Prosecutor General Jung Gook Hyun.

With Minister Yoon Ji Sook...

What happened to my brother!

President Lee Tae Seop is not at home or in the office.

The investigation team is looking into it.

Lee Tae Seop... if we can only catch him

we'll be able to figure out the connecting link between Lee Tae Joon and Kim Sang Min.

Then Prosecutor Park Jung Hwan, too...

Prosecutor Park Jung Hwan is the father of your child.

Will you be okay?

The researcher, the bus driver...

they were fathers to someone, Minister.

Goodness, is the mouth only for eating?

If there was any misunderstanding, we should talk it out.

Let's stop the investigation on my brother here.

What is the charge on President Lee Tae Seop?

Homicide under the Criminal Law Section 250-1

Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes...

Send that old hag Kim Sang Min back home...

For Kim Sang Min, Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes

Section 355, embezzlement and malpractice.

If you strip people naked

there are plenty of people with more dirt than Kim Sang Min and my brother.

In my opinion...

Everyone has different opinions.

Everyone thinks that he is right.

You and me included.

The minimum justice that everyone agrees on...

That... is the law.

Let's... follow the law, Prosecutor General.

Let's do that. Let's follow the law.

Kang Jae...

the prosecutors who bought houses, sent their kids abroad and got new cars

with Kim Sang Min's money...

Make sure to have the list ready.

Our Prosecutor's Office is about to cut in half, thanks to the Minister.

The Minister is the father and the Prosecutor General is the mother.

For the couple's fight...

would you be happy to get fingers pointed at by the kids and the people, Minister?

Do you want a deal?

These days... there is no deal even in traditional markets.

Isn't the price marked already?

Investigate, go through the trial and demand sentence according to the law.

Yes.

If the Prosecutor's Office is cut in half

you'll have to empty out this room, too.

We need to pay the price to create good society.

Why didn't I think of becoming that price before?

I'm going to create a good Prosecutor's Office.

Even without me

I have a lot of people I can trust to hand over the job in a better Prosecutor's Office.

You're trying to tie Chairman Kim Sang Min and me together...

but there is a bridge between us.

I put President Lee Tae Seop on the national wanted list.

Goodness, if we caught everyone on the wanted list, we'll need to build 10 more prisons!

If you can't catch my brother, and this case remains unsolved...

then what would you do?

The ones you'd trust and hand over your job to...

will get hurt a lot.

You've played 'hide and seek' before?

If you don't find them within given time

Watch out. 'It' will change.

If we can't catch Lee Tae Seop in a few days

Lee Tae Joon will drag this case into the mud.

Don't worry.

I'm ready to resign if something goes wrong with this investigation.

I have a different thought.

Lee Tae Joon, Lee Tae Seop, Kim Sang Min, Park Jung Hwan...

I'm going to put all of them on trial.

'I did my best. But they were too strong.'

I'm determined not to make that kind of excuse, sir.

I'll add more people on the special investigation team for Lee Tae Seop.

I changed your trial team.

They know how to listen, so you won't get a prison term.

It's three days' worth.

I believe you said a week's worth.

If you get the statement disadvantageous to me retracted

then I'll give you ten days' worth.

When I was an intern, I cried for days over a patient's death.

But I have more than 10 patients who are terminally ill.

Once I got used to death

when I go to the funeral

I even wonder if the menu will be short rib stew or spicy beef stew.

If you don't like it, try to manage pain on your own.

A prosecutor with high spirits has a small heart now.

If you eat three meals a day

it'll be hard for you to eat a hundred meals at this point.

Make sure to eat good food...

I'm sorry.

I can change my personality and hobby...

but religion is a person's perspective.

God, Buddha, Allah...

I believe in Big Bang, not a personified god.

I'm sure you'll meet someone nice.

I see.

It's thin ice on the road. Be careful getting home.

You'll be assigned to the Financial Investigation Team in the Central District in a few days.

Thank you.

When it gets warm, I'll invite you to the field.

- Let's do that. - Okay.

The one that will show up tomorrow doesn't have a religion.

- We'll meet here... - Let's stop, Jung Hwan.

Grandpa in Seongbuk-dong, parents in Gangnam...

Graduated from an elite high school and passed the bar on his first try.

Mama boys who listen to their moms and get married to girls with the same religion...

Do you have someone?

This coffee mix is about the hand that makes it.

Wow, the one who drank my coffee for over ten years left me out for this case?

This investigation is dangerous.

You haven't found where President Lee Tae Seop is yet, have you?

Chairman Kim Sang Min should know where Lee Tae Seop is.

I went to the Japanese restaurant and looked through all the cameras in the area.

I found really fresh video clips!

Thank you for the ingredients!

I'll do the cooking.

The suspect has the right to remain silent.

Use the right that you have and drag some time...

Then I'll get you a ticket that you don't have. Yes.

Make sure you eat three meals a day and hang on for a couple of days.

Don't say anything.

Use your mouth only for eating.

Yes.

I got it, honey.

You must be close to her.

Your wife just came to see you, but another phone call.

You don't trust your wife.

When executives go bankrupt

they give all their money to their wives and get a fake divorce.

But I didn't find anything under your wife's name.

So why would you trust the brothers Lee Tae Seop and Lee Tae Joon?

If I tell you... where Lee Tae Seop could be...

There is no deal.

I'll give you an advice though.

At the time of your arrest

Lee Tae Seop had a chance to contact you.

So why did he run away alone?

If Lee Tae Joon and Lee Tae Seop add their crimes to yours...

the investigation report will get pretty thick. Really thick.

Where is President Lee Tae Seop?

There is a small temple in Paju.

Their parents' tablets are kept there.

They built the main hall and the living quarter.

Tae Seop!

Tae Joon, you're here!

Tae Seop...

- I'm glad you're here. - Are you alright?

Detective Oh Dong Choon, go to Paju with the investigation team.

Yes.

Whether you take a plane or a smuggler ship

you'll arrive on a foreign land after all.

I have a ship in Incheon.

It'll leave tonight.

My Ji Yong will take the college entrance exam next year...

He was born in the States.

I'll discuss with your wife

and get him into a good school with his special status.

Just consider it your vacation and get a good rest for three years.

I'll get Kim Sang Min out...

and I'll step down from the Prosecutor General.

Why would you?

Everyone will shake me up for the fact that you killed the researcher.

I'll be too dizzy to hang tight on the seat.

Everyone's busy making a living, so they forget about others' business quickly.

When the administration changes, I'll get a minister title and greet you back.

I prepared two big ones for you.

And...

I put two bottles to help with seasickness.

When we first came to Seoul after the reservoir filled up

we skipped dinner because we didn't have enough money after buying the medicine.

But now we have this much money after buying the medicine for seasickness...

so a man's life is not wasted.

Tae Joon...

Thank you.

Even when our parents were alive, you took care of me.

This idiot who failed the bar exam three times...

You were the one who fed me and put a roof on me while I was studying.

And when we were little, what Seoul kids call 'kudzu root'...

you gave me a big one and you had this tiny one that doesn't taste like anything.

I came this far with the energy from that kudzu root.

Thank you, my brother.

Oh, Tae Joon, do you want a kudzu root?

The backyard of this temple is covered with kudzu.

Forget it, it's cold out.

No, the real kudzu should be taken out from the frozen ground.

- Here, lie on this warm spot. - Really?

Just stay here for a bit.

You two, over that way.

Yes, we're at the temple.

As soon as you arrest Lee Tae Seop, transfer him to the Central District Office.

Got it.

The detectives from the Prosecutor's Office are coming.

- What about my brother? - We have to go.

If they see that you're with him...

Hurry, sir!

Sir.

- Check it out. - Yes.

Over there!

It's been over an hour since Lee Tae Seop ran away from the temple.

He can't have gone too far.

All the roads in the area are checked.

We're focusing on the area in the two kilometer radius of the temple.

Prosecutor Jung, set up a meeting with Police Commissioner.

I'll support you with all the necessary personnel.

Even Seoul Metro Policy Agency and the regional investigation unit are participating.

Kang Jae, who is the leader of the Seoul Metro Policy Agency?

Meet with him and poke a hole from behind.

Yes, sir.

Now, let's eat!

There was a misunderstanding while he was trying to make a living for you guys.

I'll resolve the misunderstanding... So let's eat.

Ji Yong, Ji Eun, let's eat.

Please, let's eat.

Jeez, look at me. I forgot an important meeting!

Excuse me, let me get up first.

You should eat everything in front of you. Don't even leave a bite!

Your father set this table, right?

Although your mother did.

Alright.

With six, the parents are placed here

and four siblings can be place underneath. That's perfect.

I'll pay in cash today.

Let's finish the registration transfer today.

The registration transfer will take a few more days...

I have no time... although I have a lot to do.

[Prosecutor Choi Yeon Jin]

Four hundred policemen are assigned?

Yes. It's supposed to go down to fifteen below zero tonight.

I'd get on the police car. The heater is on. How nice is that?

What?

Hey, is the Seoul Police Chief some grand title?

He doesn't even eat?

Shut up. Just drag him to Chungwongak in an hour.

You can pick it up tomorrow...

It takes a couple of hours.

Mom, I bought blue crabs from Noryangjin.

It's fresh, so let's make crab stew for dinner...

It'll take a couple of hours, so let's have dinner together.

The crab stew.

I had no idea that a visitor would come.

He never bought groceries before.

Please.

It's good.

Why can't the maid at home make this happen?

I'll do the dishes.

It's not a shame for men to have failed in marriage these days.

The mom will raise the kid...

I hear a lot of prosecutors are women these days...

Female prosecutors don't like Jung Hwan.

He doesn't see them as women. He sees them as prosecutors.

There is even a rumor...

that he'll get back together with Prosecutor Shin Ha Gyung someday.

So, among the 500 female prosecutors

there is no female prosecutor who see Jung Hwan as a man.

Except for me.

Yeon Jin!

How many siblings do you have?

Mom!

Prosecutor Lee Ho Sung and Detective Oh Dong Choon are on Shin Ha Gyung's side.

Prosecutor Jo Kang Jae is with the Prosecutor General.

What about me?

I'm nervous.

I follow your words not out of calculation.

It's from my heart.

But you don't come to the office for days and I can't reach you...

Just calculate.

I have the grabs on the leaders of the majority and the minority parties.

Number one is good, and number two is also good. Pick a number.

- Jung Hwan... - If you can't calculate...

stick yourself... to this side or that side.

Do you still have feelings for Prosecutor Shin Ha Gyung...

No.

Ye Rin.

She probably grew up with an awareness of Dad's empty seat. I feel bad enough.

I decided that there would be no other women or other kids in my life

on the day of my divorce.

It's an old SUV vehicle.

Track the vehicle and check the owner.

Anything else, sir?

Don't ever come here again.

I got it.

Jung Hwan... come over here.

Hurry.

Jung Hwan... stop Shin Ha Gyung.

I can't reach the Seoul Police Chief or the regional police chief.

You get through to them.

You can't stop her?

Then is it okay if I stopped her?

She'll get hurt a little.

Are you okay with it?

I'm fine with a divorced wife getting hurt.

But I'm worried about you.

Shin Ha Gyung also heard Kim Sang Min's confession.

For the Nominee Lee Tae Joon to pass the confirmation hearing

you bribed over three billion to politicians.

Is that what you mean?

Yes.

I know her because I've lived with her for a few years. She's a headache.

If you touch her, her blade will be up.

If you hurt her, she'll attack you with an ax.

- Jung Hwan. - Don't touch her.

Thanks to you, she went to prison without committing crime.

At least there are walls that block the wind in prison!

It's 15 below zero right now.

Bring my brother who went to dig a kudzu root for me!

Jung Hwan, bring him back before the sunrise.

I need to keep my brother warm.

Don't order the one who left.

Make use of the one you have.

If something happens to my brother, Jung Hwan...

I'll say it myself...

how I was able to come this far.

You carried me here on your back...

By tomorrow or the day after, your wife will put handcuffs on you.

We'll be arrested, detained and put on trial...

People will throw stones at me.

And they will spit on your face.

Jung Hwan... you don't want to see me, do you?

I don't like you either.

Do you want to spend the rest of your life with me in the same cell?

Or will you bring my brother in front of me?

Kang Jae.

The Chinese restaurant is open 24 hours, right?

Order a black bean noodle bowl.

From Bejing House.

[Supreme Prosecutor's Office] Yes, I got it.

Prosecutors Park Jung Hwan and Jo Kang Jae arrived at the search ground early morning.

They are briefed on the situation and participating in the search.

The police can't ignore the higher-ups from the Supreme PO.

Jung Hwan will leave the ground soon.

I'm sure he will.

But Jung Hwan wouldn't leave alone.

Ha Gyung...

Four hundred policemen are surrounding the area.

Even when 50 million people were watching, he got Kim Sang Min out on illness.

Check on Jung Hwan's move. We have to stop him.

Let's pressure the police chief and widen the area of search.

If the search area is widened to four kilometer radius

four hundred won't be enough to cover the search.

If the search area is widened, double or triple of the police force will be added.

If my opinion is trash...

then what's your plan?

Hey, let me get a taste of your plan.

This is the town chief.

The police will continue with the search today.

So if you see anyone suspicious, please report right away.

What's the name of Lee Tae Seop's son?

To Ji Yong's father who went to get a kudzu root in the mountain...

Your brother is worried because you left your cellphone.

Please come to the town center right now.

Ji Yong's father, stop digging for the kudzu root and come to the town center now.

This is the town chief.

Ji Yong's father! Stop digging for the kudzu root

and come down to the town center now.

Tighten the security.

Check any vehicle leaving the area thoroughly regardless of their rank.

I'll check your car.

For a policeman searching through the car of the Investigation Chief of the Supreme PO...

how long does it take to find an old man?

Pardon me. Please cooperate with us.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Choi Seung Seok.

I'll have to tell the Police Commissioner why I'm late to lunch with him.

I'll check your car.

I'm Jo Kang Jae, Chief of the Anti-Corruption Division of the Supreme PO.

I was ordered to check all the vehicles thoroughly...

I made that order.

You're working hard on a cold day.

Inspector Choi Seung Seok.

Have a safe journey.

Dad, my kindergarten graduation is next week...

I'll be singing and acting.

Other kids' dads are all coming...

Ye Rin, I'll be there.

Tell Mom not to buy a flower bouquet.

Grandma and I will buy two bouquets.

Make a left turn at hundred meters ahead for Jangwon Reservoir.

Grandma is coming too?

Grandma was really mad, but she's okay now?

You can't be late. I'm the first one to sing.

Okay.

Ye Rin, I'm in a meeting now. Later...

Mom, Dad said he'd come to my graduation with two bouquets of flowers.

Grandma is coming too!

Did you talk to Dad?

Yes. Dad seems upset after fighting with you.

He didn't even go to work today.

Did he tell you where he was?

No, I heard.

Jangwon Reservoir.

Jangwon Reservoir is Lee Tae Joon's hometown.

I believe the village is submerged.

I'll withdraw the search team.

Lee Tae Seop left the area.

Minister, this is a chance.

He's probably with Lee Tae Seop on the wanted list.

Lee Tae Joon, Jo Kang Jae, Park Jung Hwan...

I can take them at the crime scene.

I'll go to the scene.

Prosecutors don't go to the crime scene.

I'll go, Minister.

I'm sure she doesn't want Prosecutor Park Jung Hwan

to be arrested and handcuffed by someone else.

Ha Gyung will do it herself.

Since he's the father of her child.

Detective Oh Dong Choon, please have the car ready.

And have two detective teams ready.

You've gone through a lot.

I confirmed the vehicle owner.

My legs, my legs...

Prosecutor General will arrive soon.

Plan the future between the brothers.

Hey, Shin Ha Gyung messed up the plan to board in Incheon Port.

You should have a ship ready for him to leave.

Shin Ha Gyung is contacting all the smuggling ships in the country.

You get the ship.

What do I do? Build a raft?

Prosecutor Generals' right hand should fix it himself.

Hey, Park Jung Hwan!

My daughter sings this song at the kindergarten.

'Let's do our work ourselves. We take care of it ourselves. We can do it!'

I'm leaving.

So it's hard to leave by the ship.

I have nowhere to go now.

He has a small car center.

He used to be a doctor at a major hospital.

But there was a medical accident.

When your sister was an intern, he was a resident.

Dong Hoon!

Come here.

- Why? - Is this enough water?

Yes, good job.

When she's off from the hospital she seems to spend time here.

If you don't have anything else for me, I'll leave now.

Stay.

I need someone to stop me.

My brother!

You're here!

Wear the gloves.

Wear the scarf.

It looks like this, but I hear mountain climbers wear this.

You can go to Himalaya in this.

Make sure to carry your cellphone.

Do I look okay?

Have the kudzu root.

Why?

It's fine.

It's sweet.

It looks good.

Let's eat the ramen together.

Jung Hwan...

I'm Park Jung Hwan. Let's eat first.

Let's send Hyun Seon home first and we can talk...

Hyun Seon, do you have cold rice?

Yes.

Tae Joon...

When we set up our parents' graves...

we couldn't even cover them with grass because we had no money.

We cut wood panels ourselves for gravestones.

Our headstones should still be fine, right?

It's been almost 40 years.

Even wood in the sunlight would be damaged.

How can the wood under water be fine?

I found a good ship for you to take.

You can't get hurt.

A man's life can have a scratch or two.

Tae Joon, do you have anything to drink in your car?

I had too much kudzu, I have a bitter taste in my mouth.

A soft drink or wine is fine.

Okay.

Hey...

- You should just go. - Okay.

Tae Seop...

Tae Joon...

When you were studying for the bar, I read a few books, too.

If the suspect dies

the investigation and the prosecution process are put to stop, right?

Is that correct?

Don't, Tae Seop.

I'm sorry that I've only been a burden to you all my life.

Throw away all the baggage I gave you

and fly up high.

Don't do it, Tae Seop!

Tae Joon...

the kudzu was good, wasn't it?

The ones dug from the frozen ground are the best!

Wasn't I right?

Brother!

- No! - Sir!

Sir! Sir!

Tae Seop!

- Sir! - Brother!

Tae Seop!

Tae Seop...

Tae Joon, headstones for our parents are fine.

I was right.

Brother!

Brother...

Subtitles by DramaFever

Too bad. I have no pain killers to give you.

Does it make you scream?

Hide yourself well. Someone might see your hair.

It's Investigation Chief Park Jung Hwan's personal matter.

Park Jung Hwan will be the sacrificial lamb.

I'll go to hell first.

Let's go to the court together.

Jung Hwan... because of you!
