[Episode 13]

If you don't confess early, all that will be left for you is more pain.

What did you scheme with the dead Lee Myung Woo? Confess now!

Your voice, sir, is not yours, but Jung Nan Jung's.

Aren't you interrogating me for Jung Nan Jung?

What nonsense is this?

Did you want to be promoted so much that you would go so low as to become Jung Nan Jung's lapdog?

Quit the nonsense and bark instead, then I may confess.

You're asking to be killed, aren't you?

What are you all doing! Screw his legs!

Yes, sir!

Did you look into it?

Yes. The captain is interrogating Yoon Tae Won personally.

For treason?

Looks like we can finally pull out a sore tooth.

All that's left is to get rid of Angookdong and then all our sore spots will be eliminated.

You came looking for me?

Yes, sir.

What is it?

I know that it is a difficult request, but please allow me to meet with the Queen Dowager.

The Queen Dowager? Is something wrong?

There is something I must tell the Queen Dowager.

Tell me first.

The treasonous uprising is fabricated.

I have the evidence to proove it.

Is that true?

Yes, sir.

Follow me.

If the Captain finds out, not only you, but I will also lose my head!

Oh, I know. I will repay you for this favor later, twofold!

Punk, I'm not helping you because I want something from you.

It's because we go way back.

Thank y— Ow! Thank you!

Wrap up quickly and hurry out. If I give you the slightest signal, race out!

Yes, sir.

Go in! Hurry, hurry.

Tae Won!

Tae-Tae Won!

You! How did you get in here?

These b-bastards!!

Look at you!!

Goodness.

It's bearable, so don't worry.

Are you okay? The bastards aren't jabbing at the company, are they?

You're crazy. Now is not the time for you to worry about others!

What happened? They said you were involved in treason.

What is all this, you punk?!

It has all been fabricated.

Fabricated?

Who? Who would stage such a thing?

Jung Nan Jung.

J-Jung Nan Jung?

I underestimated Jung Nan Jung.

I fear that there will be negative repercussions for Chief Merchant at the Jeonokseo,

so you must keep our deal with Lee Myung Woo from Chief Merchant.

Tell others it was my doing and mine alone.

O-Okay.

And if you meet Ok Nyeo,

don't tell her that I am in this sorry state.

Just tell her I'm fine.

Also, Angookdong Mother... Tell her to take good care of Mother.

You foolish punk. Worrying about others till the very end?

Just worry about yourself!

Have a seat.

What do you mean that the treason was fabricated? What makes you say that?

Not too long ago, a man by the name of Lee Myung Woo hung himself in the Jeonokseo and killed himself.

Lee Myung Woo... So the chief merchant who was supplying all the funding for the treasonous party?

Yes, sir. The Captain of the police bureau closed the case as suicide,

but from what I deduced, Chief Merchant Lee Myung Soo did not commit suicide,

but was murdered by others and was it staged as a suicide.

Others? What others?

The person who orchestrated all this.

Who is that?

From what I suspect, Jung Nan Jung.

What?

The most suspicious of all is that the Captain who closed Lee Myung Woo's case as a suicide,

and who is managing and executing the investigation for treason,

is Sung Ji Hun, the future son-in-law of Yoon Won Hyung.

Are you suspecting Daegam Yoon Won Hyung, as well?

I know that everything I said is based on suspicion.

But, many lives depend on the outcome of this case.

Shouldn't we uncover the truth so that no one is wrongfully accused?

You cannot meet the Queen Dowager.

Sir!

Do you think the Queen Dowager will believe your story

that is made up entirely of speculation and situational suspicions?

But, sir, if I just tell her the truth...

No! This is unrelated to truth or falsehood.

From this point forward,

you must not open your mouth regarding this case.

Sir, please let me meet with the Queen Dowager. I will tell her personally.

I told you to stop!

Please don't come looking for me if it is for such matters.

I will not relay what you have told me to the Queen Dowager.

This is all for your own good,

so take heed. You may leave.

Sir...

So Jung,

did you meet with Head Merchant?

No. I've tried everything with the police bureau supervisors,

but it was all to no avail.

Those bastards... When they were drinking here they acted as if they would pour out their heart and soul for me.

Shouldn't we plead with Police Bureau Lieutenant Younggam?

I already did, of course. He was the same.

He's so scared of Jung Nan Jung, it was shocking.

- Allow me to meet Daegam Yoon Won Hyung. I will plead with him personally. - What?

We need to do everything we can.

We can't just let him die like that.

Okay, I'll look into it.

Put in the word with Jeok Mak Gye.

Yes, Madam.

Are you in your right mind? Do you not know what the Queen Dowager is?

The Queen Dowager is someone who trusted my sincerity.

Ok Nyeo... you are more clever and wise than anyone out there,

but you have one weakness.

You only choose to look at the good in people.

The Queen Dowager is not the kind of person you think she is.

In order to crown the current king,

she thoroughly used Jung Nan Jung and Yoon Won Hyung's atrocious acts.

You must never go looking for the Queen Dowager again.

You may also be put in grave danger!

- Sir, did you know? - What?

That the traitors being interrogated at the Royal Investigation Bureau

are all related to Lee Myung Woo, who died at Jeonokseo?

I know that already. Lee Myung Woo provided the funding for the treasonous plans!

Sir, you are so very innocent.

That, sir, was not funding for treasonous schemes,

but mere bribes.

What? Is th-th-that true?

On the list of his secret transactions was Jeonokseo's Prison Warden Jung Dae Shik.

But they didn't even question us.

So I think something fishy is going on.

It's something my uncle said, so there is no doubt about this.

Jung Dae Shik?

You all know that the entire nation is in chaos because of the treasonous uprising, right?

We don't know who will be under fire next, so everyone take extra care.

Yes, Sire. But the traitor Lee Myung Woo

was killed here at Jeonokseo, and yet we are fine over here. That seems a little off to me.

Off? What's a little off?

Because we are fine over here, are you... disappointed?

No, that's not what I meant.

You and your mouth. I should just sew it shut or something!

How could everything that comes out of your mouth get my temper going?

What a talent!

- Get lost! - What?

What are you doing? Get lost now!

You, don't come to meetings unless I personally tell you to.

- Clerk Ji. - Yes, Sire.

You take over Associate Administrator Yu's duties.

What?

Yes, Sire.

What are you doing just standing here? Get out of here immediately!

Come now, come on.

Th-That... little...

That's not what I meant!

Sire, is anything the matter here?

Matter? What matter?

I have something to speak with you about.

Is there somewhere quiet where we could go?

Follow me.

I don't like having a lot to do. Really, though!

What is it you have to say? I'm busy so say it quickly.

I ran all this way to share this with you, Sire.

You shouldn't speak to me in that condescending way.

Geez.

Well, you know that the traitors who are being interrogated at Royal Investigation Bureau received funding from Lee Myung Woo, right?

Are you here to tell me THAT?

I know that already.

But actually, what they received from Lee Myung Woo

were mere bribes, not funding for treasonous schemes.

- Bribes? - Yes, bribes.

And so those bribes were painted to look like they were funding for treason.

But the astounding thing is that on Lee Myung Woo's secret transaction list,

your name is there too, Sire!

What? My name?

So in other words, you could also be summoned to Royal Investigation Bureau!

What... What are you saying?

As you know, I-I just got a small amount to make Lee Myung Woo's stay here a little more comfortable.

If you were to call that a bribe, then I would feel wrongly accused!

How much?

Well that...

I asked you how much!

Well... That. four— No. Three hundred nyang.

I will give you 100 nyang if you can gloss over this for me on your end.

- Huh? Huh? - 130 nyang!

- What? - Oh fine, 200 nyang!

Geez...

Ok Nyeo, you were here! Step out of Jeonokseo for a second.

- Why? - A man by the name of Do Chi is here to see you.

He is Head Merchant at Gong Jae Myung's trade company.

Oh! Ok Nyeo!

Did you meet Head Merchant?

Y-Yes, I did.

How is he doing?

I thought he would be half dead, but he's fine.

He's really fine. Really!!!

So... He's in a critical situation, right?

Wh-What? How did you know...

It doesn't make sense that someone arrested for treason is "doing fine."

Those bastards. How could they ruin someone like that?

He's been beaten to a pulp...

But, Tae Won, even in that state,

told me not to tell you anything and for you not to worry about him at all.

Also, to take good care of Madam at Angookdong.

You will not be able to meet with the Queen Dowager.

Do you really think the Queen Dowager will believe something that is primarily made up of speculations and piecing together of different scenarios?

Regardless of truth or falsehood,

from this point forward,

you are not to utter a word regarding this case.

The Queen Dowager is not the kind of person you think she is.

In order to crown the current king, she willingly used

the atrocious acts of Jung Nan Jung and Yoon Won Hyung.

These bastards, how could they ruin someone like that.

He was beaten to a pulp...

But Tae Won, even in that state

he told me not to tell you anything and for you not to worry about him at all.

Ok Nyeo! Prison Warden Sire must not know, so wrap things up quickly!

Yes, Ahjussi!

Chief Merchant!

What is it?

The Head Merchant Yoon Tae Won is being held at the Royal Investigation Bureau.

What? Tae Won? Why?

He is being interrogated for treason.

Treason?

Hyungnim, you're here.

Well, what is it, Hyungnim?

Is it something bad?

- Jak Du. - Yes!

I need to leave this place.

I don't care what you do or how you do it, but look for a means for me to do so.

Hyungnim, the trial is in five days.

Even if it's hard, just endure for five days and the...

Immediately! I need to get out right now!

Look for a way!

Oh, yes, Hyungnim.

How did it go?

He's a stubborn one.

He has fainted three times already, but he has yet to confess that he was involved in treason.

Your voice, sir, is not yours, but the voice of Jung Nan Jung.

Aren't you interrogating me in Jung Nan Jung's place?

Did you want to be promoted so much that you would stoop so low as to becoming Jung Nan Jung's lapdog?

Quit this nonsense and bark instead, and I will confess.

What is the relationship between Madam and Yoon Tae Won?

What is between them that she ruthlessly corners Yoon Tae Won this way?

The two have a long ill-fated relationship between them.

Yoon Tae Won interfered with Madam's plans here and there.

Does it even make sense that a mere merchant at a trade company interfered with Madam?

Unless Yoon Tae Won's insane, he wouldn't do something as futile as that.

Tell me honestly what their relationship is.

Sorry. I can't tell you that.

If you must know, ask the Madam yourself.

We must obtain a confession from him quickly.

Wake him up and screw his legs some more!

Yes, sir.

Madam, it's me, Ok Nyeo.

Come in!

Stay lying down.

No, no, I'm fine.

What about Tae Won?

Oh, the Head Merchant is very busy due to matters at the trade company.

He won't be able to visit for a while.

I'll come visit you often.

Oh, good. Thank you.

Did you have dinner yet?

I did. As you said, I didn't eat the soup.

Will you tell me why I shouldn't eat the soup?

Oh, it's nothing.

The physician said that anything in soup form is not beneficial for you at this time.

If you recover quickly, you will be able to eat whatever you would like.

But where is Myung Sun?

I don't know. She was here just a moment ago,

but these days Myung Sun has been strange.

How so?

I took her in when she was a little girl,

but I've never seen her looking so troubled.

Her eyes look nervous,

and when I ask her if something is wrong, she won't answer me.

Please have mercy! Have mercy on me!

Don't kill me!

Let's go!

Myung Sun!

Do you know who tried to kill you?

I do. It's the person that instructed you to poison Madam.

That person is trying to silence you by killing you and eliminating the evidence.

Myung Sun, you were used.

In order to live, you must tell me everything,

like who the person that ordered you to poison Madam to death is.

How did it go?

We failed.

What did you just say?

Useless bastards. You couldn't take care of one girl?

Sorry, sir. Another wench interfered unexpectedly.

Who?

I think it's the wench that visited Angookdong with Yoon Tae Won.

You all need to leave Hanyang. Lie low.

Yes, sir.

- Ok Nyeo? - Yes.

That wench interfered.

If that wench gets involved, things will get more complicated.

You eliminate Myung Sun yourself.

Yes, Madam.

She will be taking care of you temporarily.

What about Myung Sun?

She will leave Hanyang for a while under Head Merchant's orders.

What on earth is going on, I just don't know.

The Head Merchant will tell you the details himself later,

so don't worry too much.

Myung Sun.

I will evacuate you to somewhere safe,

so do not be frightened.

Let's go.

- Where? - You'll see when you get there.

- You looked for me? - Yes.

You must enter the palace and meet with the Queen Dowager.

The palace?

If you are sharp enough,

you must have caught on that there is a rift between the Queen Dowager and your father.

The Queen Dowager is particularly fond of you,

so you should go and loosen her up a bit.

Yes, Mother. Don't worry. I'll do well.

Sister, I hear you are going to the palace with the mistress?

- Yep. - Oh, take me with you!

I've never seen around inside the palace.

What are you talking about? You think that just anyone can enter the palace?

Well, if I am "just anyone," what are you?

Why are you like this? How dare you throw a tantrum?

Young lady.

Yes, mistress.

Your Highness, have you been well?

Welcome. Come closer and have a seat.

Yes, Your Highness.

I heard from your mother that you will soon be wed?

Yes, Your Highness.

Well, have you seen your groom?

Yes.

How is he? Are you pleased?

His looks are grand and pleasing, but I don't know...

Why?

He's a tad too arrogant.

Oh, no! That punk must have underestimated our Shin Hye!

Should I call him in and tell him off?

Oh, there's no need for that.

If you want something, you just say the word.

Our Shin Hye is getting married, I must offer a gift.

Your Highness, please forgive my father and mother for how they have wronged you.

That would be the most precious gift to me.

Is that so?

Father!

How did the Queen Dowager seem?

She said that she forgives yours and Mother's wrongdoings!

Is that true?

Yes!

Good, well done!

You may enter.

Okay, okay.

Your Highness!

The treason case? How is that going?

We have arrested the entire treasonous party and obtained confessions, too.

As expected, behind the treasonous uprising

were the remnants of Dae Yoon's affiliates.

We will take this chance to eradicate the entire party,

so please do not worry.

Have a seat.

You probably didn't have a chance to rest your mind and body after your release from Jeonokseo.

You have gone through a lot of troubles.

What do you mean troubles? That is definitely not the case!

I am just apologetic that I was unable to prevent such an uprising before it happened.

I will be loyal to you, my sister, and the king

with my own life.

You are the only one I trust and rely on,

so never disappoint me again.

Certainly, Your Highness.

I will never do anything that goes against your will.

Your Highness, please trust me.

Well... how did it go?

We have nothing to worry about now.

The Queen Dowager's frozen heart has melted away!

You worked really hard for it, Daegam.

No, no. This is not a feat of my own.

It's all thanks to Nan Jung.

I should go and have a cup of liquor with Nan Jung.

Your Excellency, I hear you have a message from Sosoroo's Hwang Gyo Ha.

- Hwang Gyo Ha? - Yes.

She says that she has something she needs to say to you.

My name is Lee So Jung. I would like to serve you a cup.

Sosoroo, huh?

Welcome, we were waiting for you.

Good.

Come right in.

Have a comfortable seat.

What is it that you need to tell me?

Do you remember So Jung?

She says that she must meet with you.

Really? For what?

That, you should ask her in person.

It seems that she is completely smitten with you.

Then what are you stalling for? Bring her in.

She is getting prettied up for you,

- so wait a while and have a few drinks. - Fine, fine.

Hurry and bring her in.

Is So Jung ready?

We have a big problem here, Leader.

Jung Nan Jung is here!

What?

Sister.

Long time no see, Gyo Ha.

Sister, what brings you here?

I heard that our Daegam was here.

You men, what are you doing! Let me go!

- So Jung! - Sister!

So you are So Jung.

Who are you?

I... am Jung Nan Jung.

You are indeed as beautiful as I heard you were—enough for His Excellency to be smitten.

What is the meaning of this? Why are you doing this?

Sister!

You back out of this!

You really don't know why I'm acting this way?

If you don't want to lose your pretty face, you will never serve Daegam again.

I am a gisaeng. It is my duty to serve those that ask for me.

That's not my problem. Quit being a gisaeng or leave Sosoroo.

You choose your path.

These people! Geez!

Is there no one outside? What are you doing not bringing me So Jung already?

Goodness.

Oh good, oh good. Have a seat, have a seat. Oh...

H-How are y-you here?

Did I come somewhere I shouldn't?

Isn't this the place we first met?

Seeing you at this venue

brings back old memories and is rather pleasant.

Did you really have to go this far?

Did you not fully take in what I told you?

If you really like that wench So Jung, at least for her sake,

I told her you shouldn't meet her again.

Let me serve you up a cup.

What are you doing?

While you were at Jeonokseo,

there was nothing I didn't do for your sake.

If others were to see us,

they probably would have thought I had gone piping mad.

There is nothing I can't do for you.

So you also shouldn't look sideways.

You got that?

Ahjussi!

Ok Nyeo!

Where is this place?

Don't be scared.

This is the safest place for you to hide.

Let's go.

Let's go.

You just have to live in hiding here for a little while.

We are not trying to lock you in. It's your hideout.

Go ahead. It's okay.

Listen to me carefully. I'm telling you once again, but the only way for you to live

is to reveal who told you to poison the First Madam.

We need a witness to punish whoever gave you those orders and for you to live.

Do you understand?

Give it some thought and then decide.

Let's go.

Yes, okay.

I don't know if we should be doing this. If Prison Warden Sire was to find out... Whoa!

That thoughtless, idiotic, and lanky Prison Warden Sire is trying to kill me...

I don't even want to think about it.

Don't worry, Ahjussi. I'll make sure we don't run into any issues.

Alright, you're the only one I trust.

Here, have a bite.

Did you give my words some thought?

I'll reveal it.

I'll tell everything.

You've made a good decision. A good decision, indeed.

I must test your abilities.

So you were that famous in Yeoju?

So you have fast hands, I hear?

If you fail, I won't let you off easy.

Man Su, you give it a shot.

Yes.

Do well.

Aigoo, so loud, so loud! Come here, you.

It's noisy, noisy! It's noisy! It's noisy!

Is that all you can do?

I've never seen someone as blunt as you in my entire life.

Do you want to tell the entire neighborhood,

"I'm picking a pocket here"? If you pick pockets like this, you'll be dragged to Police Bureau.

You punk! You punk! Do it properly!

Well, you do it then.

Wh-What, you punk? "You do it then?"

Aish!

You do it yourself and you can hit him after you succeed.

Sure, you don't trust me, huh?

You, don't fall in love with me.

Move aside.

Let's see here...

Oh, my!

No way.

No noise, huh?

Come here.

Did you see how awesome I was? Did you see?

- Stop practicing and eat first. - Can you even eat?

Eat first.

Come here, eat first, then practice.

I don't think they're cut out for this.

It hasn't been long since they started training.

Don't hit them too much and be gentle with them.

Treat them a little better.

So!

You don't want a cup of raw rice wine?

We need on-site training right now, so I'll have liquor later.

- Aigoo, you need to eat first. - You two, follow me!

Aigoo, Man Su and Man Ok! Do well!

That?

Aish.

Do you not have eyes?

There.

There? You like that person?

I'll show you how it's done. Watch closely.

Aish! Where did she go?

If you need to live, follow us quietly.

Who are you?

Who are you?

Who are you?

Why are you trailing me?

Who are you saying trailed you?

If you don't want to die, speak now.

Why are you doing this? I was just following you...

Kill him.

Let me live! I'll tell you everything! I'll tell you!

Truthfully, I've been asked to find you.

Who?

Didn't you lose twin jade rings?

How do you know that?

I have those twin rings.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, the person who is looking for you

also has those twin rings.

That child wanted me to look for you.

Who is that?

I really shouldn't tell you this. I'll be in big trouble!

Did you think I was joking when I said I will kill you?

J-J-Jeonokseo's damo, Ok Nyeo.

She also has the same twin jade rings you had.

She said it was her mother's keepsake.

And she wanted to know why you had those twin rings.

P-Please let me live.

Dirty bastards...

Sire, I have brought him.

Oh, yes, yes. You are finally being released! Congratulations.

It's all thanks for your special care, sire. I will never forget your kindness.

What do you mean, kindness? Life's about helping each other along, right?

I'll invite you to Sosoroo some time soon.

Wow, Sosoroo sounds great. What are you doing standing there! Escort him out!

Yes, sire. Follow me.

Good, good.

Prison Warden Sire. His trial is five days away.

Would it be alright for us to let him go like that?

I've pulled some strings at the police bureau, so you have nothing to worry about.

I don't know if I should say this,

but if you keep releasing prisoners in exchange for money,

one day you will be in big trouble. Please refrain from doing so.

Look here you! Don't worry about me,

and take care of yourself, forever just an associate administrator!

You surprised me! What is up with you, sir?

How much did you receive to get Gong Jae Myung out?

How much do you think I received on the side? Sesame oil? Perilla oil?

I just do as Prison Warden Sire tells me to.

Move aside so I can walk past.

He sure knows how to talk.

Oh, I got it. So you're shutting me out and getting all the bribes for yourself now?

Jung Dae Shik, you bird brained idiot.

You picked a fight with the wrong person here.

You just wait and see to the end, jerk.

Chief Merchant sir!

Have you all been well?

Chief Merchant, you went through so much!

Why are you all out, as if I'm back from somewhere nice or something.

- Uncle! - Eun Seo!

Let's see. Your complexion looks great!

Jeonokseo must be a decent place to live.

You wench! How could you say such a thing to someone who went through so much trouble.

I sent you outside food every day.

You, you, you. You're not my niece,

you're my enemy.

- Do Chi! - Yes, Chief Merchant.

What!

Tell me. How much did you use?

What do you mean, how much?

He was to be on trial in five days, how much did you use to get out so early?

Why don't you just destroy all we have? Everything!

I think I better meet Yoon Won Hyung.

What will you do after you meet Yoon Won Hyung?

What else do I have to say?

That the Yoon Tae Won Jung Nan Jung arrested

is his own child.

No! No, Chief Merchant. Tae Won would definitely not want that!

Then what should we do? There is no other way!

Are you telling me to watch helplessly just waiting for Tae Won to die?

Daegam Yoon Won Hyung is someone

who ruthlessly threw away both Tae Won and his mother.

He is not the kind of person who would take him in all of a sudden just because he is of his bloodline.

On top of all that, if Jung Nan Jung was to hear about any of this,

Tae Won might be in even bigger danger!

Oh, be quiet. I have my own plans already,

so you just prepare a meeting for me and Yoon Won Hyung.

Chief Merchant!!

Your Excellency,

Gong Jae Myung is here requesting your presence.

Gong Jae Myung?

That punk got out faster than I thought he would.

Let him in.

Oh, but Daegam. Gong Jae Myung is someone who Shin Hye's mother has a grudge against.

But why are you meeting him?

I already know that he and my wife don't get along.

I owe him from my time at Jeonokseo.

Oh, okay.

Little punk.

Welcome! Have a seat.

Thank you for meeting me like this.

No, no. Thanks to you, I had a comfortable time at Jeonokseo.

I will never forget the delicious outside food you shared with me.

Now that I'm outside, all the delicious food from the mountains to the seas

isnothing when compared with the outside food I ate in prison.

You are here now, so shouldn't we resolve the misunderstanding between you and my wife?

You should take this chance to meet with my wife.

Your Excellency, I have a request for you.

A request?

Wow, you fed me a couple of meals

and now you want to earn big on it.

Well, okay then. Tell me what your request is.

Your Excellency, do you recognize the name, Yoon Tae Won?

How do you know that name?

Yoon Tae Won is someone I have under me at the trade company.

Also, I know that Tae Won is of your bloodline.

Your Excellency, Tae Won has currently been framed for treason

and is going through all sorts of pain and trouble at the police bureau.

- Treason? - Yes.

Tae Won has never been involved in treasonous acts.

He just attempted to close a deal with the dead Lee Myung Woo and he was thrown in for treason.

If Tae Won gives in to the torture and falsely confesses that he was involved in treason,

then his life may be in peril.

Your Excellency, please save Tae Won's life, Daegam!

Your Excellency!

Revealing whether he is innocent or not

is up to the captain of the police bureau.

Your Excellency, I hate to tell you this, but Tae Won has been butting heads with Madam Jung Nan Jung.

Therefore, Madam was the one that framed him for treason.

Nan Jung?

Yes. This is all my fault.

I was not able to stop him from seeking revenge for the tragedy of his mother.

So please punish me instead and save Tae Won.

Your Excellency! Please! Please save Tae Won's life!

Your Excellency!

Sister, Sister.

Gong Jae Myung is meeting our Daegam right now.

Why would he need to meet Daegam?

I hear that Daegam owes him for something during his stay in the same room with him at Jeonokseo.

How much could he possibly owe him from Jeonokseo

that he would meet with that wretched man.

He sure doesn't see straight.

Will you leave us alone for awhile?

Yes, Daegam.

You have a gloomy complexion. Is something the matter?

I heard that you framed Yoon Tae Won for treason

and that that child is now at the Police Bureau being tortured.

Daegam! Who did you hear that from?

That is not what is important here!

Let him go immediately!

What do mean, "Let him go"? We have evidence that he conspired with Lee Myung Woo.

If we let him go, then the staged treason itself vanishes.

Let him go if I tell you to let him go!

No, Daegam. I simply cannot.

Cannot?

Go ahead!

You can break this room and even this house!

I can never release him.

Will you keep acting like this?

Do you know how many times Yoon Tae Won interfered with my matters?

A long time ago, while I was walking on the street

I once got hit by a rock in the head and bled as it tore my skin open.

Madam! Goodness!!

You punk! What did you do? Who are you?!

I'm Yoon Tae Won.

I will get revenge on you for my mother.

So you are Hong Mae's son.

I will honor my relationship with sister Hong Mae

and let it go this one time. But!

There will not be a second chance if you do something like this again.

When that happens, I will not forgive you.

Let's go.

I still haven't forgotten the way that boy looked at me.

After that day he intentionally pointed his dagger at me.

He interfered with every matter of our trade company's deals,

and the one who smuggled out Ok Nyeo, the wench who created a rift between you and the Queen Dowager,

is Yoon Tae Won!

So should I look on as my son dies by your hands?

Nan Jung, if you deride me like this, I will not forgive you.

Daegam!

I am Yoong Won Hyung! Yoon Won Hyung!

Do you not know that the power and fortune in your hands,

is all from me?

Do you know the blood and tears I had to shed on my own

to protect that very power and fortune?

Let go of Yoon Tae Won immediately!!

I cannot!!

You don't fear anything now, huh?

Release him!! You got that?!

Nan Jung!

Just listen to Daegam's wishes this time around.

You can't do anything when it comes to his bloodline!

That's right, Sister. I don't think angering him further would be a good idea.

You take a step back here, Sister, okay?

Look here. Nan Jung!!

Are you telling me to release Yoon Tae Won?

Yes.

Releasing him right now demeans not only my honor,

but yours and Daegam's honor, too.

I already know that.

May I ask the reason behind this?

I cannot tell you right now, so don't ask any further questions and just do my will.

Have you been well, sir?

Release Yoon Tae Won right now.

What? What do you mean, all of a sudden?

If I tell you do let him go, just do it!

Yes, sir.

Tae Won!

Tae Won!!

Tae Won! Are you okay?

I'm sorry for worrying you.

What are you doing, guys!

Hurry and take him over.

Yes! His body is in a bad state. This won't do. Get on my back.

Thank you! Thank you, sir!

They said he was Yoon Won Hyung's son from a concubine. Bloodline is, indeed, hard to ignore.

Letting go of a man tied up for treason.

Master, I have something to tell you for a moment.

What is it?

Can we go somewhere quiet?

She really tried to poison her?

Yes, I secured the poison,

and have the confession of the maidservant who was instructed to poison the madam.

If you have such clear evidence, all that is left for you is to report it to the Police Bureau!

No, the captain of the police bureau right now is taking orders from Jung Nan Jung.

He is Jung Nan Jung's son-in-law to be, so there is no chance he will carry out a proper investigation.

Master, tell me what I should do.

The Counselor of the Minister of Justice

is a man by the name of Kim Tae Jung and is a colleague of mine.

I don't know for sure, but at least he won't be scared of Jung Nan Jung.

Even if we don't get to the bottom of everything regarding the case,

we can at least make Jung Nan Jung's atrocious acts public.

Ok Nyeo!

I just met a man by the name of Do Chi from Gong Jae Myung's trade company,

and he said that Yoon Tae Won was released from the police bureau.

He wishes to meet you right now!

Master, one moment.

That wench is Jeonokseo's damo, Ok Nyeo.

Head Merchant!

You're here?

Are you alright?

Wow, I nearly died and came back.

I really wanted to see your face once before I died.

I was lucky and now we're here together again.

Head Merchant!

How is Angookdong Mother?

She is continually taking medicine that subdues the toxins.

But someone tried to kill Myung Sun.

What? What of Myung Sun?

I saved her and took her to a safe place.

Where?

The underground prisons at Jeonokseo where I was once held.

I felt that would be the safest for her.

Younggam!

Who are you?

My name is Jun Woo Chi.

I have something to discuss with you, the Counselor of the Minister of Justice, and humbly request your time.

Soemthing to discuss? What is that? Tell me.

There is a person who has been wrongfully accused and is dying with no protection from the law.

Please listen to the tragic case of this person.

Where are we going? We are nearly there.

Ok Nyeo! Ok Nyeo!

And who might you be?

I am Jeonokseo's damo, Ok Nyeo.

Master Lee Ji Ham advised me to seek you out,

but I did not think a person of your status would meet a commoner like myself,

so I had to stage all this. Please forgive me.

Lee Ji Ham?

Where is he now?

He is at Jeonokseo.

It seems he hasn't changed one bit.

Alright then. What is it you needed to see me about?

Did you just say Kim Tae Jung, the Minister of Justice's counselor?

Yes, Sister.

He doesn't openly express his political stance,

but the fact that he is secretly affiliated with Dae Yoon's people

is known by all who are in the know.

There must be a good reason for that wench to meet with him.

We must first eliminate Myung Sun, that wench who vanished.

How did you let things get so out of hand?

I'm sorry.

We need to kill that wench by any means possible to get rid of all the evidence.

Do you understand?

Yes, Sister.

The Younggam Counselor said that he will meet with Myung Sun.

That's great. Bring her here quickly.

Yes.

Head Merchant.

When I think of what you did, I cannot forgive you,

but it's a relief that you, albeit belatedly, made this decision.

Young Master, I am punishable by death.

We have no time to tarry any longer.

Okay, let's go.

This is the Counselor to the Minister of Justice.

My name is Yoon Tae Won.

Are you Myung Sun?

Yes, sir.

I heard what happened. Tell me all the truth.

Who is it that ordered you to poison someone.

Go on, tell me.

The person

who instructed me to do so was...

Oh!

Myung Sun!

Myung Sun!

Ok Nyeo!!

I will show them all what I am made of.

Younggam, what should we do now?

We have no one to trust!

Who are we to share our wronged

and helpless situation with?

I will stop fearing and being wronged from here on out.

Even if it is the smallest of things, I will fight when I can.

You must be Tae Won.
