interesting to delve deeper.

Anyway, all her life,

she kind of set people up,
like a matchmaker.

And according to these journals,

there were a lot
of success stories.

Some of the people she helped
are still around.

Well, I asked around

and I managed to find
a few of the couples

from the journals.

So, I set it up for you
to interview them

and then I thought
between interviews

I could show you the sights
of Sunflower Valley.

for you to write your piece.

real life saver for them.

They had volunteers running
all kinds of programs.

canoes on the lakes.

They even had
inspirational speakers

scientists, all kinds.

To inspire them
that they could be

whatever they wanted to be.

That sounds really nice.

Yeah, I volunteered here

It was so gratifying.

So what happened to it?

Ran out of funding.

but I'd carefully set them up to

And it was just perfect.

He told me it had
always been me.

and I cried and cried.

my own community in some way.

So I wanted to
come back to Seattle

and start a non-profit.

to help those less fortunate.

when my mom got sick.

My priorities changed and...

the train lurched

But it got the

of companies and names.

She spent hours
on the telephone,

all across Wisconsin until
she finally found that bank

in a tiny town called Cedarburg.

She got me the number
of that bank.

And when I called Jane, she
was delighted to hear from me.

So we started right in
like we hadn't missed a beat.

Can you imagine that?

She wasn't well, but
she showed up anyway.

That's the kind of woman
she was.
