The following programme contains distressing scenes.

Klitschko's looking for another one, and finds it.

Vitali Klitschko!

You want to see a heavyweight destroyer?

Vitali Klitschko wants to be your man!

Utterly dominant.

"Putin says he's only targeting military targets."

Bullshit!

"Vitali's brother, Wladamir,

"also a former heavyweight champion,

"came to town to help out his brother."

Mr Mayor, do you have a message for Vladimir Putin?

But sometimes, a fight is more than a fight to a fighter.

Klitschko took that, too, without going down.

We are talking about digital... dital... ditsal... Digitalisation.

He is clumsy.

And that made him very uncomfortable in the boxing ring,

and guess what, in the politics as well.

He's not the regular politician.

Oh, yoy, yoy, yoy, yoy, yoy.

"A defiant Volodymyr Zelenskyy

"receiving standing ovations from the British House of Commons."

This former comic actor, cast in a new role

of war time Commander-In-Chief.

"The Mayor of Kyiv says things could become apocalyptic this month

"if Russia continues to strike its energy infrastructure."

"Temperatures this week have dropped down to minus eight degrees,

"with hundreds of thousands of people right across the capital

"without power and without heating.

"Residents saying that they would rather live in the cold

"than live with Russians."

I could hear. You made my mum cry.

So, you're in trouble.

We were born in a family of a teacher,

that's our mum, and a military service man, and that's our father.

My brother was born in Kyrgyzstan.

After some while Father was relocated to another military base

in Kazakhstan where I was born.

I was born, he was there.

I don't even know the time without him.

And we kept on going,

changing countries, cultures, religions.

Our mum is from Siberia, so she is so-called Russian.

But our dad was as Ukrainian as Ukraine could be.

He loved to communicate in Ukrainian

even though Russian was the dominant language.

And we grew up speaking Russian.

When I was eight we arrived in Kyiv.

I was raised in kindergarten knowing the enemy is the United States,

so we need to fight them.

Then later on I had military classes.

I had to learn how to put AK-47 together, throw a grenade.

Our father was one of the true fighters for that system.

He was communist with a pride.

"Kyiv was attacked again this morning.

"Russia has increased its strikes on the Ukrainian capital,

"launching arial assaults almost every day."

Nice to meet you.

Welcome to Kyiv. Welcome, welcome, welcome.

Right now, delegation from Israel.

Shalom. Shalom!

Thank you for everything what you are doing for Ukraine.

One more time. Thank you very much.

OK, OK, OK.

So, and this is innocent, and these are also European values, right?

Squashy.

We have a proposal. You see here the Champs-Elysees.

Great news. Great news. Great news.

"Ballistic missiles fired from somewhere just inside Russia

"travelled to the Ukrainian capital in less than two minutes."

"The death toll continues to rise for civilians

"with some of their heaviest losses seen in children."

The Russians want Ukraine without us, without Ukrainians.

"We appreciate the you taking time to join us.

"Thank you. New this morning,

"tension between the United States and China escalating here again.

"This is what we know..."

How are you doing? I'm OK. How are you?

Marathon.

It's been a busy few days.

Busy last year.

Have you been sleeping at all?

Not so much.

What was it like when the war started for you and the family?

Terrible.

I was crying, like, probably one week.

Because I didn't know who to call.

I was calling to my ex-husband,

and the hardest part was

that we were already in the process of divorce.

But outside everyone thought we are still... husband and wife,

perfect family couple.

Do you ever feel scared for your father?

I... Well... all the time.

Erm, you know, when the war first started,

propagandists of Russian said

they would take the president, they would take the mayor.

They would line them up on the main street and they would hang them.

So... its definitely scary.

Do you feel he was ready to die?

Yeah, absolutely.

Which kind of scared me as well because I knew he would be.

You know. So...

One of my father's mantras:

Only something hard can sharpen a knife.

The way he taught us things was in a very military-esque manner.

He gives you a command, you do it, you fulfil it.

If you fail, he'll tell you to do it again.

I wish that he would just, like, finally just mellow

and just slow down because how long you can work like this, man?

But he always want to leave in this world his big signature, you know,

so it was always his dream, and he's done it already.

Like, I don't know how many times,

and that was always my question, what else do you want to achieve?

Why?

Good evening. Another stunner tonight from the Soviet Union.

Mikhail Gorbachev recommended

that the party's ruling central committee be disbanded,

which in effect would be the end of communist rule in the Soviet Union.

The Russian flag has replaced the hammer and sickle over the Kremlin.

Nobody is sure what happens next in the new commonwealth

of independent states.

I was the youngest in the heavyweight division

with not much experience.

Ukraine back then was first time

representing as an independent country.

Brother, I-

In sport- I love you, brother.

You made my day. I spent years in sport

to achieve a result.

Wladimir do it so easily.

A man from Kyiv

is the new super heavyweight gold medallist.

I was 20 years old, so it was just life-changing moment.

It was life-changing moment for both of us, for Vitali and for myself.

I was at every fight.

But it was always about the two brothers.

Wladimir is everything for... for Vitali.

He called him by his brother's name.

Which Klitschko is which?

Let's call it cowboy style.

He's not a fluid athlete.

He moves like a piece of construction equipment.

Robotic and ugly to watch.

The revenge of the brothers.

Before February 24th I thought I knew myself,

but I was wrong.

What you have achieved in your life, awards, medals, titles...

so unimportant.

Now the only questions is,

what can I do for Ukraine?

I'm different to my brother because I'm not a politician,

I'm not representing any governmental institution,

but I am Ukrainian.

I'm part of this country, I am an activist,

and I'm trying to deliver anything I can:

humanitarian help, military help.

"This week Ukrainian officials pleaded for more support from the West.

"Ukraine is dependent on Western ammunition, and it's running out."

Germany is one of our most important allies.

I spent most of my life in Germany.

So, I can explain to Germans what it is being in the war

and what we need.

Wladimir Klitschko.

It's showtime.

They need longer-range rockets called ATACMS,

and they need cluster munitions to defeat the Russians.

I think they can expel Russia.

Hey, Kaia, it's Ronald. Look who I met at the Capital building.

Criticising your partner in the midst of a war is difficult,

but I agree with you, here are things the Ukrainian government

needs to do to accelerate and finish some pretty critical reforms.

I think if we come to the end of the conflict,

and these things are not in place, it will be a disappointment.

We have every confidence in you.

You've made Kyiv work, you made the parliament work,

you can make some of these reforms work.

Nice to see you, welcome.

Very good to see you again. - How are you? - Great, thank you.

I think you make fundamentally important points,

but there's an opportunity perhaps to build back better.

Build back better not simply the physical infrastructure

that's destroyed,

but the social and governance infrastructure.

And we're determined to work with you on that.

"Vitali Klitschko delivered an unprecedented critique

"of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy."

"Zelenskyy is becoming an autocrat.

"He is reshaping Ukraine into an authoritarian state

"no different from Russia."

"The first signs of a growing rift

"in Ukrainian leadership."

This is when the real nerves hit you.

The dawning that he's going in for the biggest job of his life.

He's fighting for the heavyweight title against Lennox Lewis.

One of the few fighters in boxing history

to have defeated every opponent he has ever faced.

Lennox Lewis!

It's a good start, this, by Klitschko.

He rips him again with the right hand. Lewis momentarily rattled.

Klitschko looks the boss at the moment.

This is the point where one punch could turn the whole thing around.

Big right hand by Lewis!

Oh it's terrible. It's terrible.

A really, really bad cut.

Oh, a horrible gash, which might signal the end of the fight.

Is he going to be able to carry on with that?

Vitali always told me:

"If you want to be at the fight and sit there,

"control your emotions."

But for the Lennox Lewis fight was really very hard.

Vitali is certainly ahead on points,

but can he finish the fight - with that eye? - No way!

Have you ever felt like - stopping one of his fights? - Oh, no.

It's not possible.

His entire mantra of life is, like, "Failure is not an option."

The cut's bad. He's blinking away the blood, Klitschko.

It's a problem.

He can no longer see. He's fighting on pure heart.

Klitschko looks strong as he pulls Lewis back across the ring.

Oh, what an upper cut!

But Klitschko took that too without going down.

This big strong Ukrainian.

And he lands a huge right hand on Lewis.

Klitschko is looking the likely winner of this.

He can still do it.

One good right hand and Lennox Lewis is on the canvas.

They've stopped the fight. They've stopped the fight.

They're going to declare Lewis the winner.

Klitschko cannot go on because of the cuts.

The crowd are in uproar.

Klitschko shouting "No! No!" He can't believe it.

He was ahead on points and he could have won that fight.

That should be a rematch.

No doubt in my mind.

The crowd here believe that Klitschko has got a raw deal.

Klitschko is claiming a moral victory.

Klitschko! Klitschko! Klitschko!

"his thoughts are also with his countrymen in Ukraine.

"He and his brother Wladimir are supporters of Victor Yushchenko,

"He has apparently survived a poisoning which has disfigured him."

Vitali Klitschko has it in his head that a victory in this fight,

could enhance the change for the political reform

he is hoping for in Ukraine.

Is that a dangerous psychological burden to bring in here?

A fighter who can punch like Willaims

is the real danger to Vitali Klitschko,

but sometimes a fight is more than a fight to a fighter.

And Klitschko lands a big right hand.

Williams hands jump. Another right hand.

"The building's security guard failed

"to open the bomb shelter in time.

"Many couldn't get in and had to watch as their loved ones perished."

)

Sshh.

There's quite an ugly bit of political fallout

from what was a deeply tragic incident.

President Zelenskyy didn't hold back his criticisms of Vitali Klitschko.

"Zelenskyy was joined by more than 40 European leaders

"at the summit of the European political community in Moldova."

One second.

When is the most emotional you have seen him?

I have seen him a lot of times.

When he was younger, to be honest. Before... Before the politics.

Yeah, to be honest. And then he started to change.

And you see that I am kind of a little bit sad about it.

Because I realised, when he went to become a politician,

that I'm starting to lose him... my, that time, husband.

He is always at work. Always at work.

We barely ever got to see him very often at all.

And whenever he did come home, sometimes he would bring

the office into the home.

That really shows that he loves his people.

He wants to make a true change in the country.

Even at the expense of his own family, sometimes.

We saw the comments from Zelenskyy in Moldova.

Could you respond to his comments about this situation?

I don't want to make a comment on that.

But I am... who was in the army...

...as a soldier.

I am... who was inside the ring

and knows what is a battle.

Mm-hm.

And right now my battle for the lives of my citizens.

This will be biggest mistake

to make political battles inside the country.

And people forget who sent the missiles to our hometown.
