Episode 19

Don't come any closer.

Stop moving!

I'm going to fire!

I'll shoot!

Kang Hee.

Choi Kang Ta!

Choi Kang Ta!

Choi Kang Ta!

Don't waste any effort trying. Would you like your sister to fall into the river?

Choi Kang Ta...

I finally got hold of you this time.

What on earth happened? We couldn't get in touch with you!

Peter Pan managed to slip away right before my eyes.

What did you just say? Where... where was this?

That scumbag...

- I shot him. - Shot... he was shot?

So... so what then?

Enquire at the hospitals and see if anyone with gunshot wounds has been admitted.

From today, check and pay close attention to all the CCTV footage.

He can't be far off.

I... That fellow...

I'm not going to let him off!

- Oppa! - You brat! What? Punk!

Is something up? Why so startled?

Where are you going?

You don't need to know.

- Well, go then. - Oppa...

Oppa...

Can you teach me how to get Dad to simmer down after making him really angry?

- Messed up again, didn't you? - Do you think I'm you?

That...

You know that guy that Dad hates...

I'm wondering if there is a way to get Dad to forgive him.

What... what way could there possibly be? Get that fellow to come here first.

And?

He just has to bite the bullet and wait till Dad's anger has subsided.

That's such a brainless plan. Isn't there another way?

It's alright.

I'm a fool to ask you for advice.

Move aside!

She really is a brat.

Oh, that was close.

That's right. It's better for you to be out and away from this all.

If you knew that Michael was here, that would really mess things up.

Get home early!

The invincible Peter Pan.

Look at what he's become now.

Where's Detective Seo?

The state you're in now...

and you're worried about your sister?

Listen, Choi Kang Ta.

What you really should be worried about now is your own life.

So, how is it?

The sister that you've been longing to see...

how does it feel to have been shot by her?

Separated for twenty-five years...

it was very dramatic.

To capture you,

I told her to act as your sister.

She rushed into it like a mad woman,

unaware that you are actually her real brother.

Anyhow, everything's proceeding according to my plan now.

You have been most cooperative as well.

I'm very pleased with the results of this battle.

Hwang Woo Hyun,

Indeed... you're Hwang Dal Soo's son.

Do you still not realize the situation you're in?

Not realize the situation, you despicable fellow!

I want to hear you scream!

If it hurts, scream out in pain!

Now, tell me...

You said that if we killed you or touched your sister,

you would expose all of our secrets to the world.

If the world knew those things,

you guys would be ruined.

You should know that.

You don't want the world to know

all your ugly little secrets.

What exactly is it that you plan on doing? Speak now!

Do you want to know?

Then kill me.

Look here, Choi Kang Ta.

I really think you ought to tell me...

how to stop it all.

You should know very well that I'm not going to tell you anything.

Even if it means your sister's life is at stake?

Very well, then.

I'd like to see how long it is you think you're going to last.

I've heard a lot of stories about you.

Peter Pan. The great legend.

Still unyielding.

How much longer can he hold on for?

Choi Kang Ta.

Please have a seat.

I'm really sorry for coming at such a late hour.

It's alright.

What's the matter? Have you met your brother?

- Where is Choi Kang Ta? - What?

I asked you where Choi Kang Ta is.

You haven't seen him?

I don't have the strength to bicker with you right now.

He's a murderer.

If you're hiding him, you'll go to jail as well.

Detective Seo, it seems that you haven't met him yet.

That person... He's not what you think.

He would not kill anyone without a good reason.

Stop making excuses for him, Jin Bo Bae!

Tell me honestly. You know, don't you?

You know where he is, don't you?

What are you two talking about?

Bo Bae, are you still seeing that fellow?

No, Mom. It's not like that.

Bo Bae, you need to tell her right now.

If you do know, tell her now.

Are you still in touch with that man called Peter Pan or whatever?

Mom...

Do you really want to see your mother dead?

Are there really no men left in this world?

Of all the men in the world, you just had to pick a murderer?

Did you think that I raised you just so you could date someone like that?

I don't know, Mom.

Detective Seo, I really don't know.

You're a detective, aren't you? You know who that Peter Pan fellow is.

Why haven't you released his identity to the world?

That guy has come to our house for dinner.

Don't you think you should make his face known to the public?

I know it. She knows it as well.

Why are the police not doing anything?

Yes, Omonim.

We'll definitely be releasing the information in due time.

Our strategy doesn't permit us to reveal who he is now. Please understand.

Whatever it is, please try to capture him quickly.

Also, this child of mine, if she knows where he is,

I'll make her tell the truth.

You worthless fellow.

Your escapes have been pretty spectacular.

Still, you ended up being captured.

Worthless fellow,

do you know how much trouble you've made for Yong Bi Group?

In addition to all that,

you've taken my one and only daughter and toyed around with her.

You worthless fellow!

Calm down, Chairman Jang.

I'll use my torture methods from back in the day.

Why don't you head off first?

All of you should leave as well.

Choi Kang Ta, stop being stubborn.

Let's talk about this calmly.

What's the point of making it all public?

What changes do you think there would be?

Do you think all our accomplishments over the last 20 years

would crumble just like that?

Well then,

why haven't you killed me yet?

This little scum.

As they say, it all runs in the family.

The way you've gone about all this is exactly how Hae Ryong would have done.

Should I tell you about your father?

The four of us never started out intending to kill Hae Ryong.

We intended to give him a share as well.

However,

your father stuck to his principles and morals till the very end.

Even when his family and their lives were at stake, he refused to budge.

We were left with no option...

but his death.

Thinking back into the past...

When we stabbed your father in the ribs,

it should have been just a single strike.

I'm sorry we didn't manage to do that.

Once.

Twice.

We took turns and repeatedly stabbed him.

It was probably very painful and exhausting for him.

That tingling sensation while we were stabbing him...

I still feel it coursing through my veins.

I want to recapture that sensation once more.

I'll let you have a taste of the suffering that your father went through.

To date, I've never met a person who could withstand the torture I'm able to dish out.

If you're not going to confess,

I'll dig out all your insides as you watch helplessly.

You're going to wish you were dead.

Tell me now, Choi Kang Ta.

Where, when and how are you going to expose all this? Speak!

What?

What did you say?

Father... On my father's name,

I promise you.

Yes.

Tell me...

You...

I'm definitely going to...

with my hands...

kill you.

Pascal!

Let's see exactly how long it is you plan on lasting.

There's no movement from the police.

It doesn't seem like he's been arrested.

Has direct contact been broken off?

Yes.

Do you think anything has happened to Boss?

Oh, I dropped by before I got back,

and the doors to the super mart were already shut.

Where has mother gone?

- She's resting in her room. - Is she not feeling well?

Earlier,

Detective Seo Mi Soo stopped by.

Aigoo, she must be worried again.

But...

Did you manage to see Michael?

Where is he now?

Honestly...

No, no...

Don't worry about anything. Take it that no news is good news.

Whenever contact is broken off for quite some time,

I just start having all these scary thoughts about never being able to see him again.

Don't say things like that. Don't think those thoughts, either.

When I miss him, I'd like to see him.

When he's troubled, I'd like to be by his side encouraging him. These feelings of mine...

Hye Jung's grandfather,

do I have too many expectations?

No.

When you love someone,

wanting to do everything in your power for them,

...is normal. On top of that, you're a reporter.

Reporter Jin,

I think it's time.

I need to tell you why Michael is how he is.

Michael's father didn't commit suicide and murder his family.

He was murdered.

What?

Who did that to Michael's father?

Those so-called friends of his:

the Chairman of Tae Hung Group,

the deceased Minister of Justice,

Chairman Hwang of Hwang Lim Group,

Yong Bi Group's Jang Yong.

Michael is currently taking his revenge.

He's exacting revenge on his innocent father's behalf.

Reporter Jin,

are you willing to help Michael clear his name?

Vivian!

Vivian, Vivian...

I'll see to it that your ticket back to Hawaii is cancelled.

You don't have to worry about that Michael fellow anymore.

What do you mean?

I've got a leash around Michael's neck now.

What?

What I, Jang Ho, have said, has been proven.

I told you that I'd protect you, and those words weren't just empty lies.

It can't be... are you saying that you've captured Michael?

The cunning hunter Jang Ho has the beast firmly locked away.

- Have you killed him? - We captured him alive.

Where then?

That... that's a secret.

President Jang!

President Jang... Are there any secrets between us?

Well, no... but this is a bit different from our personal issues.

I'm the woman who betrayed Michael twice.

His first target most definitely has to be me.

For my safety, I need to know everything that has to do with Michael.

Yes, it really should be that way.

President Jang Ho...

Where's Michael?

He's in an underground storage locker at my place.

Underground storage locker?

This time, my hands are all stained with blood.

Don't you think I deserve some praise or a reward?

A kiss for bravery.

We really should be at that stage, correct?

Vivian, your expression...

Boss,

just where on earth could you be?

[Emergency Message]

[Peter Pan is being kept on Captain Hook's ship. If you want to save him...]

This... who might this be?

Team Leader!

We've checked all the CCTV cameras around the Han River.

They captured footage of Peter Pan being dragged away from the scene.

The picture quality is pretty grainy. We can't make the face out.

However, we've cross-referenced the license plates.

The vehicle in question belongs to Yong Bi Construction.

What? Yong Bi Construction?

- Yes. President Jang Ho's. - Jang Ho?

We finally got him implicated.

Let's set off!

Alright.

We're from the power company.

What's the matter?

There was a power shut down in this area.

We need to inspect these premises for safety purposes.

Let me look in your case.

Come in.

Hey! What's this now?

Jang Ho, keep your cool.

How did these guys find out?

Detective Seo, what are you doing here?

Mr. Hwang Woo Hyun, what are you doing here then?

This is a friend's home.

- Where is this person? - Huh?

Who is that person? I don't know.

- Search! - Alright.

Seo Mi Soo, what are you doing? Withdraw your men immediately!

Hwang Woo Hyun, you are no longer my superior.

Don't order me around.

- Hwang Bo, start searching! - Alright!

- Move aside! - Do you have a death wish?

Move aside!

What?

Police?

Okay, I'll hide out for a while.

Hwang Bo, look over there.

Yes.

Follow me!

There's nothing on the second floor.

Make sure to sweep through the areas outside as well.

Yes.

- Follow me! - Yes!

- Don't leave any stone unturned! - Yes!

Okay!

Boss!

Oppa, what's all this? Why is the police searching my room?

What on earth is happening?

It'll be over soon. Just keep quiet.

This is my sister's bodyguard.

Team Leader, please hurry over to the underground storage locker now.

Woo Hyun, what should we do now?

It seems there's no one here.

President Jang,

what is this place used for?

What... what do you think it could be used for?

This is the training area Pascal and I use... for sparring and such.

This is where we men train to defend ourselves.

A round or two, or fencing... that sort of place.

Detective Seo,

what are you suspecting?

Why don't you start using your brain and think a little?

If we really did capture Peter Pan,

we'd definitely have surrendered him to Central Intelligence or the police.

Why would we put him in a place like this?

Withdraw the team.

Okay.

Withdraw!

Really!

Hey, hey... Woo Hyun. Where has that fellow gone?

Those scoundrels.

Making a man into a tattered rag...

None of them is fit to be a human being.

I found out who gave away Boss' location.

It's a little hard to believe, but the only person who could get into our intranet

is Vivian, Boss.

- Vivian? - Yes.

Whose side exactly is that woman on?

Boss, I can't understand Vivian, either.

Welcome, Hwang Woo Hyun. What seems to be the matter?

You dare to ruin my plan!

Listen well, Vivian.

My goal is to dig Peter Pan's heart out.

You signed up to be on our side, didn't you?

Do you still intend to protect Castle?

If so, hand Peter Pan over to me. Otherwise...

I'm going to reveal the face of Michael King being Peter Pan,

and make it all public knowledge.

That way, it's not going to be just one or two investors that will leave Castle Group.

No one will invest in a group run by a murderer.

I've been intending to leave Korea.

There's no need for you to threaten me, Mr. Hwang Woo Hyun.

Ah! Now that I've thought about it...

There's something that you value above money.

If you don't want another hole in your head,

think about your next move very carefully, Vivian Castle.

If you're choosing to cross the fence over to Peter Pan's side again,

you'll die by my hand, got it?

This is your last warning, Vivian.

Michael...

You escaped...

Come in.

Detective Seo Mi Soo came to find Pascal.

During that time, what were you doing?

I'm sorry.

In the future, keep an eye on Detective Seo at all times.

Report in immediately any activity.

Yes.

Park Chul,

Yes?

- Thank you for staying with me. - It's nothing.

I'll keep taking care of you.

Thank you.

- Here you go. - I'm so busy I could die! What?

I just thought I could buy you a cup of coffee.

By any chance, has Team Leader Seo mentioned anything about meeting her brother?

What are you saying? Team Leader is an only child.

Oh, yes...

So they haven't met?

Anyhow, that case 25 years ago involving Choi Hae Ryong...

That case... because of it, you come to find me as well?

When I went to see the officer in charge of the original case...

And then?

He said the first officer in charge of the case died suddenly in a traffic accident.

He took on the case only after that. Do you have any idea of this?

Aigoo, Reporter Jin seems to be an information provider for the police, huh?

The army general who was working with Choi Hae Ryong...

is the present Chairman of Hwang Lim Group, Hwang Dal Soo.

That... how did you know that?

It's just as I thought.

As you thought?

What's this? Have I fallen into some trap of yours?

This fact hasn't been confirmed. You need to keep it a secret.

Don't worry about it.

Yes, Hye Jung's grandfather?

- Grandfather, where's Michael? - Right up there, the second floor.

Alright.

Michael!

Michael...

Who did this?

It's those people, right?

Michael,

you don't have to say anything.

Your heart...

I understand it completely.

Your pain, your sadness, and your frustration.

Just one look into your eyes, and I see everything.

Let me help you.

When I was hurt and needed help,

you were the one who always stood by my side.

You kept appearing before me.

Let me stand by your side.

Let me protect you.

It's dangerous to be by my side.

No.

When with you, warmth is all I feel.

I feel joy and happiness.

I hope that you could...

feel that way as well.

Oh, you must be hungry. It's kimchi...

He's just fallen asleep.

Just exactly what happened to Michael?

It seems he fell into a trap while trying to meet his sister.

Do you think... this was all Woo Hyun Sunbae's doing?

Besides him, who else could it be?

If so, did he manage to see his sister?

That seems rather complicated.

It looks like Hwang Woo Hyun manipulated the situation.

Michael was so excited about meeting his sister,

but his sister showed up only to arrest him.

It's such a cruel twist of fate.

[Report]

[Blood type: O]

Dad had Type 'O' blood?

I remember both Dad and Mom had Type 'AB' blood.

- Hwang Bo! - Yes?

Do we still have those documents that were posted?

My birth certificate... could you give it to me now?

Here.

The gynae who recorded the details... Aren't the blood types of parents and child recorded?

Yes, that's what I remember.

So, who is this from? Why did they send it to me?

[Place of Birth: Mi Pung Maternity Hospital]

Is this Mi Pung Maternity Hospital?

Oh, thank you for taking the trouble.

I am Detective Seo Mi Soo from the Seoul District Police.

I'd like to ask a few questions.

Could I confirm the identity of a person who'd taken some birth records from you recently?

Yes, that's right. The expectant mother's name was Son Mi Ja.

The child's name is Seo Mi Soo.

Year of birth was 1982. Born on the 7th of November.

Nothing?

Oh, alright.

Excuse me, but could there be other records?

What?

Seo Mi Soo's records were moved to Korea Unity Hospital due to a heart problem?

These are the Korea Unity Hospital's records.

[Seo Mi Soo., 3 years of age, female.]

[Was transferred from the local hospital thrice in 1989.]

[Died due to complications in a heart operation]...?

Death during a heart operation?

Me?

Seo Mi Soo is dead?

Dad... Dad, just who am I?

Dad...

[Report]

[Army Investigator In-Charge: Hwang Dal Soo]

Hwang Bo.

Yes, Team Leader?

Choi Hae Ryong, Lee Hyung Sub, Hwang Dal Soo and...

Kang Tae Ho. See if you can find any common denominators.

Hometown, schools and the army. Cross-reference all the data.

Look at them all, right down to the smallest detail.

I understand.

There's a saying that blood recognizes its own, isn't there?

So why is that you, Detective Seo, are unable to recognize your brother?

Are you by any chance talking about how Choi Kang Ta and I are related?

That was just bait that we used to lure Peter Pan out.

Choi Kang Ta in the past 25 years has been working towards clearing his parent's name.

He's here to look for the people who murdered his family.

He returned to Korea for revenge.

To a person like him...

what do you think it would mean to him, to find his sister still alive?

However, this sister doesn't want to acknowledge her brother,

and has made him out to be a murder suspect instead.

- Is this what he said? - Why don't you want to know the truth?

I'm telling you, Jin Bo Bae.

You're saying this is the truth?

All that guy is to me is that he's the man who murdered my father.

That's the truth!

It's my duty to arrest him and put his neck on the chopping board.

Leave right now!

Detective Seo...

I said you should leave right this instant!

Sunbae,

in my investigation into that 25-year old case,

I made a very shocking discovery...

The reason Michael went looking for the Chairman of Hwang Lim Group.

Is that so?

Why did he go looking for him?

Hwang Dal Soo used to work with Detective Choi Hae Ryong.

It was a joint force investigation team.

They also had connections with the deceased Chairman Kang Tae Ho.

They went to the same high school.

So what if that's the case?

I don't think that the drug smuggling case was masterminded by Detective Choi.

You really shouldn't be spreading this news.

No, I need to know.

I'm going to see everyone that was involved in this case.

- Of course, this includes your father. - Don't go there.

You don't understand anything.

Jin Bo Bae,

standing on the side of a murderer, and only believing his words...

is this the love you really want?

I've told you very clearly not to go there.

Detective Seo seems rather gaunt at the moment.

It's a pity that Tae Jin

had to go and leave behind such a pretty daughter. The feeling...

I know now why Peter Pan is after you, Chairman Hwang.

While you were in the army and in charge of search operations,

you were in charge of the drug smuggling case Choi Hae Ryong was involved in, right?

Ah, that...

Peter Pan thinks that his father was wrongfully accused,

and that you are to blame for it all.

I don't want to know about how that crazy fellow thinks.

So what you're saying now is that 25 years ago,

you were in charge of the case involving Choi Hae Ryong, right?

If so,

when Detective Choi took the drugs away,

who was first to discover it?

- Well, that... - The man who reported it to Internal Affairs...

was it you, Chairman Hwang Dal Soo?

That's right. It was me.

Because I can't stand by and watch when I see a corrupt public official.

Oh, I see.

I understand it all now.

I warned you.

Don't touch my sister!

Kang Hee!

Kang Hee!

Kang Hee... Kang Hee!

Patient, you can't get up now.

How did I get here?

Who brought me in?

It was a tall man that carried you in.

[Guardian, Choi Kang Ta]

He said he was your brother.

Where is he now?

He was right here a moment ago.

Choi Kang Ta!

Don't be mistaken.

Saving me today...

doesn't absolve you from killing my father.

Are you going to arrest me?

When there's a crime committed, there has to also be an arrest.

But not right now.

I swore on my father's spirit...

that I would arrest the guilty party.

I must do it personally, so don't even think about running off the next time.

Boss,

when you saw your sister, you should have just told her the truth.

Why couldn't you tell her that you are her brother?

She mistakenly believes that you're the murderer.

You should quickly explain it all to her.

Is it because she's a police officer?

So far, I haven't once regretted anything that I've done.

However,

I don't have the confidence, standing in front of my sister who is now a cop.

I'm going to X City.

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to X City.

X City will be North-east Asia's economic mecca,

competing against Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, and beyond China.

This is the international business district which will fulfill the role.

However, X City's future is not only about high revenues and financial success.

Everyone treasures the memories of the mountains and seas of their youth.

Mom! Look at Kang Ta!

Oh, have a look at Kang Hee!

X City is a city of the future that is centered on people of nature.

It is a place where you can enjoy nature with the people you love.

X City will soar above the global competition on the dual wings of business and tourism.

This is a tourism district that awaits private investors such as you.

Here, we will construct a top-of-the-line golf resort and marine leisure facilities.

And it is here that the rich and powerful from not only China,

but also Japan and the whole world, will pour in.

The city that will make all your dreams come true.

This is...

X...

City.

So what you're saying is, these are the profits?

Yes.

This is why I'm also called The Man with the Midas Touch.

As long as I have something to work with, doubling it several times over isn't a problem.

Ah, that's right. I believe in you!

- Dad! Dad! - What?

Something big is up! It's big!

What is it now? Has Peter Pan appeared again?

No, it's X City! X City!

It's said Chairman Park has garnered the support of China's rich and famous.

He's even arranged a special viewing for them all.

The preview was a huge success!

The reporters are all over it right now, Dad!

What?

This project is already running on 10 trillion, and he's trying to pump more in?

Oh, you really... What kind of person is this?

What are you still doing here?

Get out there and try to at least gather more information.

Oh well, we don't really know what they have up their sleeves,

but the entrances are said to be very strictly guarded around the viewing areas.

Is that right?

Chairman Park of X City? I know him as well.

I've heard that he hates businessmen who are in it only for the money.

It also seems that China, Japan, Hong Kong and most of Asia,

have invested in Chairman Park's ventures.

What are we going to do, Dad?

That Yamamoto or whatever his name is, when is he going to invest in us?

It's because Chairman Park has put it all out, that we can't just stand idly by, and watch.

I didn't know that our Tokugawa Group's financial situation

would get to be as bad as it is.

Thank you for all your hard work.

This is why we have no option but to turn to Plan B now.

Plan B?

This is Madam Na Young Ja, who is a Korean residing in Japan.

She is Japan's largest property magnate.

She owns many plots of land on Kangnam in Korea,

although the properties are not in her name.

I'm pleased to meet you all. It's an honor to make your acquaintance.

Yes.

Oh, Manager Kim, I didn't expect to see you here!

I guess what they say about your reputation must be true.

That's right.

I brought in some money for Director Na the last time I was in Japan.

Pleased to meet you.

This is the international lawyer who manages my properties.

First of all, I'd like to put out some money.

Buying about eight thousand should be just about right?

Eight thousand?

Eight thousand billion*.

Oh I see, it's actually eight thousand billion*.

(*approx. US$8 billion)

Excuse me for a moment.

What sort of woman has this sort of money?

This lady, is she really worth that much immediately?

Of course. She is a very capable person.

Not only is she wealthy, she has a generous heart as well.

Good.

This is for Detective Seo. The sender didn't leave a name.

I'll pass it on to her.

DNA test results?

Michael King and Seo Mi Soo...

The DNA is a match.

[Gyeonggi Province, Yang Pyeong Farm, Yang Pyeong Lane 23 9]

[Being reborn today as Choi Kang Hee,] [Congratulations]

Yes, I understand. In that case, I'll be in touch. Yes.

Officer Choi is looking for me, so I'm leaving.

Alright. I understand.

That jerk sent Detective Seo the results of the DNA tests, and a message to meet.

Is that so?

It means that the siblings will reunite soon.

It appears I can no longer manipulate Detective Seo.

There's been no news on the GPS.

These siblings have been alive for a long time.

This time...

I'll make sure to get rid of them both.

Make sure of it.

Boss,

I think you should make a trip to the villa at Yang Pyeong.

I sent the results of the DNA test to your sister.

What?

I also set up a meeting place for you. I think she should be there now.

Johnny, I've given no such order.

I'm sorry Boss. I'm willing to face the consequences.

But Boss, you...
