Episode 14

Sunbae!

Sunbae!

It's dangerous, so stay here.

Choi Kang Ta!

Sunbae.

Jin Bo Bae, be honest.

Who is here?

Who did you come to meet?

Sunbae, why are you doing this?

Have you been following me?

I am asking the questions here.

Who's staying here? Answer me!

Jin Bo Bae!

I'm here because of my story about a homeless person.

A homeless person?

That's right. Just like you have your work,

I have my leads to follow.

Now it's your turn to answer.

Why are you following me?

Is this part of your job, too?

This is all to protect you.

Why?

Who are you trying to protect me from?

Why do I need the protection?

There has been no sign of Peter Pan's body as yet.

Until we find the corpse, I can't let it be.

Let me make this clear to you.

Don't abuse the term "protection" to keep following me.

Bo Bae!

Jin Bo Bae!

March 6th, 2010.

Thank you.

It's my pleasure. Anything else?

No, that's fine. Thank you.

Michael, when we return from this mission,

Then... I'd like to become your woman.

You... you're my everything.

I love you.

I'm sorry, Vivian.

What happened?

A male corpse has been discovered.

However, it was the body of a man, who wrote his last will yesterday and then committed suicide.

What kind of a useless report is this?

Stop sitting around! Get out there and find the body!

Yes. Alright.

Sung Chul.

Yes?

From now on, you have to follow Jin Bo Bae 24 hours a day.

Where, when, and who she meets, give me a detailed report of this all.

Yes.

Peter Pan.

Where are you?

She is moving.

Where and who she meets, report it right away.

Hang on a moment.

Where are you going?

You aren't allowed in there.

Why not?

We own an apartment here and we're here to have a look.

Don't mind us and carry on with your work.

But, why are you stopping us, sir?

Oh... that... well, it's dangerous around the site.

What's with the false concern, move aside!

Let's go.

There's no one here.

Police surrounded the area, why would he come in?

Police?

The man who tried to stop us at the entrance, he was a policeman.

Policemen are all over the place.

What?

Hello?

Jin Bo Bae.

I think it'd be better that you do not know where I am.

You and Teacher Hong...

will be in danger if you meet me.

Don't look for me.

Hello? Michael?

Michael!

What are we going to do?

He hasn't even fully recovered yet.

He has nowhere to go.

Don't worry.

He's the sort that will return alive even from the middle of a desert.

You know very well what sort of man he is.

Just wait. He'll make contact again.

Yes?

Madam, there's a call from the American headquarters.

Headquarters? Put me through.

Yes, it's on Line 1.

Hello, Vivian speaking.

Hello?

Who's this?

Secretary Kim, come in here, please.

Yes, Madam President?

It didn't connect. Who called from Headquarters?

It was Director Michael.

What did you say?

It was Director Michael, who asked to be put through to you.

It couldn't have been Michael.

But isn't he back at the Headquarters in America now?

Oh, that's right.

You're sure it was Michael's voice?

What did he say?

He asked if you were doing well.

Contact the Headquarters immediately.

Have them check who put that call through.

Yes, Madam President.

Madam President.

Yes?

I've just checked. No one tried to contact you from the Headquarters.

They also said that Director Michael is not in America, yet.

That construction project has been halted for the moment due to a strike.

It's attracted a lot of the homeless because of that.

However, they've all been chased away recently.

Do you really think that Reporter Jin Bo Bae...

was there because of the story about some homeless person?

If not so?

Do you really think that that fellow is alive?

That fellow is Peter Pan.

Until you send that guy's body to the morgue, don't think that he is dead.

Understand?

Please, save my children!

Come out! Come out!

Go, hurry and leave!

Mom!

Mom! Mom!

If you kill me, you won't be able to see your younger sister.

Your sister, Choi Kang Hee.

Your younger sister.

Dont you want to know about your younger sister?

At least call me...

He certainly knows that I'm waiting.

Dad! I'm here!

Oh, you've finished in the spa?

Oh, that was so refreshing.

Mi Soo, take a look at this.

What do you think of this guy?

He heard that you were here and really wants to meet you for a date.

What do you think?

They say he is the county's treasure.

He is strong and good looking, isn't he?

Oh? Aren't you planning a marriage?

No. No marriage.

I'm going to just live with you.

Do you understand the concept of filial devotion as a daughter at all?

You need to marry a good man.

And give me a healthy and bouncing grandchild to play with.

That's real filial devotion, my dear child.

You're talking about ordinary girls and daughters.

I'm special kind of daughter.

So I'm going to live my way.

What's so special?

I grew up without a mother and was raised solely by you.

So it'll be hard to find a man as good as you, Dad...

Then, I'm going to go and remarry right away.

Do you want to, Dad?

Would you like me to help with finding you a good wife?

Oh, you always take it a step further.

Don't worry!

If a good man appears, I'll go, even if you try to stop me.

For now, I am enjoying my work.

Oh, really.

Oh, but... Mi Soo.

That Peter Pan case,

it should be considered a closed case, right?

Well, since the body hasn't been found yet, the case can't be closed.

Why have you been so interested in this case, Dad?

No... well...

It's because it's your case, so I'm just showing my concern.

No notice whatsoever and you just show up.

It must be bad news.

You don't look well.

We still haven't found his body.

I don't know why, but I have this hunch that he's still alive.

Vivian, what do you think?

If Michael's still alive, he would come to claim my life first.

Michael never forgives traitors.

Do you believe that Peter Pan is dead?

I'm not sure, but I certainly hope so.

That's the only way we'll both keep our lives.

If he's still alive, both of us are as good as dead.

I'm absolutely sure I shot him in the heart.

In fact, more than once.

Logic dictates, that there's no way he could still be alive.

That's just a theory.

And you can't use logic and theory when it comes to Peter Pan.

People have been saying that he is an "immortal god."

Up until now, there have been four reports of his death.

This time it's different.

If he's still alive, I'm sure he will look for Bo Bae.

He invited death, because he loved her that much.

I've put someone on that end.

The dead Peter Pan is unsettling you so much?

You've even put someone on a surveillance?

When Peter Pan visited Minister Lee, how many men were on guard?

More than a hundred, and they still couldn't stop him.

What do you expect me to do?

Sit around idly and wait?

I'm not sure.

Dad,

Vivian said she'd be returning to America.

What?

Why?

Why do you think?

It's because of Michael King.

He made a mess, and left everything in the open.

Of course her heart is shattered and she's thinking of leaving Korea.

What am I going to do Dad?

I can't just stand by and watch her go.

If Vivian's gone, I know I'll die of lovesickness.

Well, if you can't watch her go then do whatever it takes to hold on to her.

How about I follow her?

Anyway, don't we have a hotel in Hawaii that I could take charge of?

Why don't you send me there to be the president?

Oh, you little brat. What about the business here, then?

A grown man pining over a woman like that!

Throwing all your career aside and leaving on your own?

Leaving your father here alone to pick up the pieces and clean the mess?

No, it's just temporary.

Oh right, temporary. How about the level of your English, then?

Your English has always been poor.

You wouldn't even make it as a waiter.

What do you want me to do then? Dad...

Keep quiet, brat!

Can't you see in what kind of a situation the company's in right now?

Even the B island project was taken up by another company.

And don't forget the business on Jang Mi's side.

Do you realize how much money we've lost?

It's at least 200 billion. 200 billion!

How do you plan to make that back?

Oh Dad, don't talk about that.

There's still one more thing.

Yong Bi Leisure City.

That project's worth about 4 to 5 trillions.

I'll make sure we get this project and it'll all turn around right.

What are you talking about?

You think 4 to 5 trillion is something to be taken lightly?

Oh, Dad. Hasn't Chairman Hwang made a promise to take care of it for us?

Either way, wake up, you little brat.

Whatever Vivian or bibimbap... you need to watch yourself here.

Don't let that vixen eat you for breakfast.

Don't forget that she's still an entrepreneur at heart.

The 5 trillion Yong Bi Leisure City project...

Drop her a couple of hints and see what she has to say.

That way, you'll have her baited and you would be sure that she won't escape.

Do you really think that will happen, Dad?

If you really want to find your way into a woman's heart, son,

you'll have to show her, that you're a man with power, vision, and promise.

It'll all come together when you show all those things, and your ambition.

A big guy like you, strong as a bear, just yammering and stammering all day long.

This is why that woman has treated you like a blockhead!

Well, why did our mother leave you, then?

Why, you...

Keep your trap shut, brat!

You ungrateful brat! Do you want to me to faint? Talking back at me like that?

Alright, Dad. I understand.

No more... no more alright?

So anyway, I'm determined to make Vivian my woman.

I'm going to make her my wife for sure. I'm going to do it. Otherwise...

Oh, that won't do. I'll find a way to move her heart. I'll make sure she'd come to me.

Mr. Chairman, have you had your dinner?

Is everything alright at home?

Yes, Mr. Chairman.

How about Jang Mi?

She's spent the entire day... cooped up in her room.

Oh, here she is right now.

Oh, why... are you going out?

I'm going shopping to the mall.

Alright. You've thought it through.

Indulging in a bit of retail therapy should be the best way to release stress.

I'm thinking of buying Michael a watch.

Michael? You haven't come to your senses yet?

Michael won't ever be here, again. He is dead.

He'll never come here again.

Oh Dad, really. You're saying that now, because you don't know who he really is.

Just you wait and see.

He'll appear tonight with a present for me.

He'll appear right in front of me like nothing happened.

Oh, what is wrong with my children?

I'm going out now.

Manager Kim!

Yes, Mr. Chairman?

Follow her! She's not acting normal!

Hurry up and follow her! You can't let anything happen to her!

Which of these would suit Michael better?

It should be this purple tie, I guess?

Michael is fair so this color should suit him well.

What?

Please, stop being like that.

I told you to stop following me!

Is this your private pool, Miss?

To me, you're like a magic.

Where have you been?

Grandfather?

Any news from Michael?

No. Hasn't he got in touch with you yet?

No.

Hello?

Reporter Jin? This is Vivian.

What can I do for you?

Reporter Jin. You're looking good.

Is that so? You look a little run-down, Vivian.

Of course. I've lost the person that means the most to me.

Vivian.

It's time for you to tell me why you really wanted to meet me.

Has Michael been in touch with you?

I've just got this hunch that he's still alive.

I'm sure that you share that feeling, Reporter Jin.

If he's alive, I'm sure he would contact you first, Vivian.

No...

You're more important to him.

If he were to appear in front of me, it would be only for one reason.

It would be to take my life.

Why?

Why would he do that to you?

Michael and I have been business partners for 15 years.

Working with him, I knew he was an exceptional man.

But I never imagined he would be the international killer Peter Pan.

His sole purpose in returning to Korea was not for business, but for revenge.

It came as a great shock when I finally realized that he was Peter Pan.

For me... even if that vengeance was justified,

and even if he was the man that I loved,

I couldn't hide the fact that he was a murderer.

That's why I told Team Leader Hwang the truth.

I thought it was for his benefit.

However, Michael would consider me a traitor.

But, why was he killing those people?

His father was a cop who was caught for smuggling drugs, and committed suicide with his family.

Michael thought that those people set his father up and framed him.

This is why he was seeking them out and exacting his revenge.

Reporter Jin, if he's alive and he contacts you...

you need to tell Team Leader Hwang right away.

Otherwise you could be deceived like I was.

As a woman, I advise you,

if you really love Michael, you have to stop him.

Why are we having seaweed soup today, Mom?

You don't even remember that it's your birthday?

Oh, it's your birthday today?

Here. Take this, Reporter Jin.

For your birthday, I made you the birthday shoes.

Thank you.

Oh, wow! They're so pretty!

Mom, have a look.

Heavens! The craftsmanship's so exquisite!

You're just finding this out now? My grandfather is a famous cobbler!

Mrs. Han, I'm also in making nice shoes for you.

It's alright. I don't need new shoes.

Thank you so much.

I'm hoping that these pretty shoes will take you to a good man.

Bo Bae, why aren't you eating?

Oh, I'm eating.

Vivian, please, give me another chance.

What chance do you mean?

Yes.

Well, although...

B Island project was a flop, this time... I've brought a bigger project.

If you'd take a careful look into this file, I'm sure you'd understand.

It's worth 4 to 5 times more. With this, we can no doubt...

recover all the losses for good.

So, Vivian. Please, don't leave.

Stay by my side.

If I don't have you, I don't want to live anymore.

When I sleep, I dream of you. When I'm eating,

when I'm drinking, when I'm standing, when I'm sitting,

Vivian, even the shadows of my mind are filled with thoughts of you.

Alright, I will look into it.

Also... I'm not leaving right now.

Is that true?

Yes. There's one last thing that I have to do in Korea.

Yes, now I can set my mind at rest.

Oh, you have no idea how worried I was.

How about we have a meal now. I know this place that does a good lamb...

Oh, that's right. You don't eat meat.

Maybe I should start eating only greens like you, Vivian.

What if I became vegetarian? Would it suit me?

Well, it's good for your health.

Then, let's go to a vegetarian restaurant.

What to do? I already have an appointment today.

I have to excuse myself for now.

Here, feel my presence. And take your time drinking your tea.

Aren't you resisting a bit too much?

You'll come to me eventually.

That fella who practices divination in the coffee shop said so.

You can't change or avoid your fate. You're mine.

If he's alive and he contacts you...

you need to tell Team Leader Hwang right away.

Otherwise you could be deceived like I was.

As a woman, I advise you,

if you really love Michael,

you have to stop him.

Miss.

Grandma, no thanks.

Grandma, I really don't need this.

Grandma.

Michael...

What is this?

I got coffee.

I used my card, so they gave me this since it's my birthday.

I found out that it was my birthday through that.

But what's wrong?

I wanted to be the first person to say happy birthday to you.

Get up, I want to take you somewhere.

Where?

Follow me, Miss.

Even though love leaves me,

Even though goodbye follows me, still... Still...

From my defeated state, I look up.

The sky is faded, and I can't see the sun.

It's delicious.

You're like a flame on the verge of being blown out by the wind.

Wait a moment.

Did you go to America to learn how to cook?

Even if my heart is numb, I have no more tears left to shed.

Yes.

Even though I've become blind to miracles,

Here.

What is it?

Open and see.

In the back of my mind, I'm yearning for you always.

Do you like it?

Even though love leaves me,

It's really beautiful.

Even though goodbye follows me, still... Still...

But it's a bit too extravagant for me.

For you, nothing is too extravagant.

Sunbae, I can't accept this.

Even if memories replace you,

Even if tears slowly erase you, still... Still...

Bo Bae.

I'm sorry, Sunbae.

I don't want to admit it,

but I know how much you liked Michael.

I wanted to follow you wherever you were going,

If you would be happy, I could give way to someone else.

Even if tears had become wounds to my wings.

But... not him.

He is a murderer.

As long as someone gives him money, he will kill anyone.

My burning heart that holds my wish,

If he is still alive,

Will fly away and find you again.

I will catch him again and kill him with my own hands.

Because I know that's best for you.

No matter what, I'm going to do this for you.

Even though love leaves me,

Understand?

Even though goodbye follows me, still... Still...

Even if memories replace you,

Even if tears slowly erase you, still... Still...

Here, drink this. Lately, you don't look well.

No, I don't want it.

Here, okay?

You will come home early today, right?

I'll come back after going to the office.

Jin Bo Bae, don't turn around.

Do you see the black sedan on your left?

Yes.

Just drive naturally.

I got it.

Birthday present.

A fountain pen.

More deadly than a knife.

Thank you for remembering my birthday.

I wanted to spend this day with you...

Michael, I still don't know what is what, and it's confusing.

The Michael that I know, and the murderer, Peter Pan...

Like a fool, I live like this,

I just can't put the two together.

And like a habit, I only search for you...

What's happening? All I did was love you...

Look at me.

It's difficult being without you...

If you want, I won't appear in front of you again.

My heart hurts so much...

My tears will not dry in the days to come...

I don't want to confuse you.

I walk the streets alone...

Then give me a chance to understand you.

What sort of man is Michael?

On days like today...

Who is the real you?

I feel you running to me,

And why you killed people?

And holding me in your arms...

Michael, I trust you.

Just love me only for a day...

You are not a killer who would kill someone without a reason.

Give just that one day to me...

I'll expect nothing more, if you do that for me...

Tell me that what I'm thinking is true.

Without you, my heart is sorrowful...

Parting hurts too much...

My tears will not dry in the days to come...

Will that day ever come?

Team Leader, I lost track of Reporter Jin Bo Bae.

What?

That... She suddenly disappeared in the car wash.

The owner has switched off the phone.

You can't even do such a small thing right?

The owner has switched off the phone.

Bo Bae. Jin Bo Bae, where are you?

We found this jacket in the Han River.

It looks like the bullets didn't penetrate through the back of the jacket,

which means that Peter Pan was probably wearing a bullet-proof vest underneath.

Get the team. Peter Pan is still alive.

Dad.

It feels so good to be at home with you, Dad.

That's why I told you to resign from your current job.

And live here happily with me.

Should I?

Yes, this is Seo Mi Soo.

What? Peter Pan is still alive?

Yes... yes... I got it. I'll come back immediately.

Mi Soo, what did you say?

Dad, I gotta go. Our team has to go back to work.

You get out of it. Let the guys do it.

Don't worry, I'll be careful.

Are there no other cops but you?

Why must you be there to do the dangerous things?

Dad, since when did you become such a kid?

Don't worry. I gotta go. Don't come out.

President Hwang.

What brings you here?

Peter Pan...

his life is a long one.

He is still alive, then? That bastard...

Who would have imagined that that 7 year old kid would bother us so much..

That means that your underling didn't get rid of those kids.

What was that guy's name?

Seo Tae Jin.

That's right... Seo Tae Jin...

Because of him, we have all this troubles.

At that time,

we just hurried in order to cover up the incident.

We hadn't even found the kids' bodies.

We closed the case as a family suicide.

Seo Tae Jin, that bastard, you got rid of him, right?

Forged a car accident and killed him.

The car fell off a cliff.

Did you confirm that he was dead?

The car was total wreck.

I asked you, did you confirm it was his body?

No.

I just received a report saying that the whole car had been total wreck.

That means that...

that guy might be still alive?

This is really...

Then...

we have to start searching for Seo Tae Jin.

If he is still alive,

I'm sure he'll come after us. We have to increase the security.

Hey, Michael, that brat is not some ordinary guy.

Don't use those rascals anymore.

Go and look for stronger guys.

Yes. That's why I plan to hire more professionals.

Through the casino...

I found some Mafia members from Las Vegas.

Good job. Good.

I don't trust any of them at the Police Station and the Information Department

You capture killers with killers.

You're right, dad.

President Jang Ho, Miss Jang Mi, she...

What? What?

We were at the beautician.

When I was getting luggage from the trunk,

she escaped.

What? Then quickly go and get her back.

Quick. Quickly go and find her.

Hi, Jang Mi.

Long time no see.

Who are you?

Ah... Oh, Lim Electronics' son.

And this is...?

I am Uhn Bae Construction's Director In Soo Jae.

I see.

You are that well-known rascal.

So you know of me.

Since we are from the same class.

Get lost.

I'm not going to play with your types.

What are you doing? You two!

Stop messing around and follow us.

Let go.

Let go.

Who are you?

Michael?

Michael...

Miss Jang Mi.

Miss.

Miss.

Hello, it's Hwang Woo Hyun.

Hello?

Hwang Woo Hyun.

You revived the TF* team again?

TF*:Tasks Force

It's been a while...

Did you know that I was alive?

Yes.

Shall we meet and talk?

Sounds good.

This time you have to come alone.

If you don't keep your promise,

your dad,

General Hwang Dal Soo would be stripped of his military rank.

What do you mean?

You can ask you father personally,

Why General Hwang Dal Soo, with his perfectly good legs,

is going around in a wheelchair?

What?

He said what about my legs?

Father,

is there something I don't know?

Don't make a mistake.

You must kill him.

So that my reputation is protected,

you must not catch him alive.

You have to kill him.

Father...

During the WWII,

this is a gun that was used during the Nazi reign.

There is a poison in this bullet.

If he's shot with this,

within 30 seconds the poison will spread,

and it will damage his internal organs.

There is no cure.

When you come back after killing that bastard,

I will tell you the secret about my legs.

Today at 3.00 p. m.

Come to Han River.

If you bring your friends like the last time,

I will expose General Hwang Dal Soo's secrets.

Hello.

Go to the river bank. There is a boat.

Take the boat and come to Manido island.

Peter Pan.

Do you wear your bullet-proof vest today, too?

It doesn't matter.

All I have to do is aim at your head and shoot.

The fact that I'm still alive,

is it causing you so much fear?

Shut up!

I will make sure you regret being alive now.

Hwang Woo Hyun.

You don't need to cover your father's crimes.

If you beg for my forgiveness then...

Shut up, you bastard!

You are just a mad killer.

If I press this button,

the TNT under your feet, will explode.

Put your down gun.

If you do that, I will also put this down.

Fine.

Then...

why did you want to meet me?

Let's hear it.

Ah... did you want to ask me about Vivian?

The person you worked with for more then 10 years...

betrayed you, and yet you didn't even know.

This,

is not like you, Peter Pan.
