And at 9:43, Mr. Stearnes rang again.

This time, he handed
me a single glass.

drinking from that glass?

I'd been lying there perhaps five
minutes or so when I heard it.

I rushed downstairs immediately.

The French doors leading
to the garden were open.

Mr. Stearnes was lying on the
floor, the gun next to him...

- Yes, sir.

And I noted the time as I
did so. It was exactly 10:25.
