LADY GAGA: How do you honor the most important
and enduring voice of the last century
and someone who's been a mentor,
a savior and a dear friend?
Official YIFY movies site: YTS.MX
Tony's career has spanned eight decades
and in all of that time
he's never given less than his very best.
So that's how I want to honor him tonight,
by giving more than I ever knew I had
and making Tony proud.

Damn it, New York, you've never looked better.
[audience cheering]
So, when I first met Tony Bennett,
the man of the night,
his 95th birthday, a round of applause.
[applause]
When I first met Tony,
I was singing at a charity event.
And somebody came to me after the show and they said,
"Tony Bennett would like to meet you,"
and I said, "Excuse me?"
[audience laughing]
They said, "Mr. Bennett, Tony Bennett,
he would like to meet you."
And I sang a couple of jazz numbers that night
so I was real, real nervous to meet Tony Bennett.
Plus, I looked crazy,
I had blonde in my hair, and black in my hair,
red lipstick, I had four big velvet moles on my face,
- I mean-- - [audience laughing]
I was doing my thing.
[audience laughing]
And I went to meet Mr. Bennett
and he said, "Lady,
you are a jazz singer."
[audience cheering]
And I said, "Tony, thank you so much,
you only heard me sing two songs."
And he said, "That's all I need to hear,
you're a jazz singer, I can tell."
And then he said,
"Would you make a record with me?"
[applause]
Right then and there, he said it, right there.
And I said, "Yes, I will."
And I kept my word,
and the song that I sang that night that Tony heard
was a song called "Orange Colored Sky"
and I'm gonna do it for you right now,
