JON: This is the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia.

And here, overlooking the Georgia Strait on the

traditional territories of the Sechelt Nation,

9 teams will begin the third leg on

The Amazing Race Canada.

TYSON: I feel like we're vibing with everybody,

but the two Express Passes, we need to see

how genuine those vibes really are.

Rip.

"Drive yourselves to the town of Sechelt,

and locate Salish Soils."

MICHAEL: "Caution, U-Turn vote ahead."

JON: The U-Turn is back, but with a twist.

Each team will cast a vote against another team that

they would like to see U-Turned,

and the team with the most votes...

will have to complete both sides of the upcoming Detour.

MICHAEL: "The first team to reach the U-Turn

will gain an advantage." TYSON: Let's go.

MICHAEL: Okay, so, we got the U-Turn coming up.

TYSON: Yeah. MICHAEL: Massive.

NICOLE: We're in 2nd just behind Michael and Tyson.

We're headed towards Sechelt.

U-Turn's stressing us out a little bit,

but plot twist.

-It's a U-turn vote. -Ha-ha!

"All teams must participate in the U-Turn vote."

It's a lot more strategy right now,

and a lot more discussing with these other teams of,

what do we do?

You know, nobody wants to be on, basically,

the chopping block.

TAYLOR: If somebody is out for us then

we know it's because they're seeing us as a threat.

LAUREN: Yeah, yeah, Salish Soils.

-We're definitely eco-friendly. -We compost, we recycle.

LAUREN: Let's get it. Are we here first?

JON: Salish Soils is an Indigenous-led company

that's focused on converting compostable materials

into high quality soil to feed the community.

When teams arrive, they'll need to mix

a specific blend of different soils.

Once mixed, they'll transport their precious cargo to

a community farm a kilometre away,

where they'll transfer their load into bags.

Once all their bags add up to a combined weight

of 160 kilograms,

Aaron will give them their next clue.

LAUREN: Fish compost.

We put it in this and bring it back to our station, yeah?

LAUREN: Yeah.

So, for this challenge, we have to mix

all these different types of compost.

LAUREN: Potting soil! Potting soil!

NICOLE: Is it? LAUREN: Yeah.

LAUREN: So, we're trying to get all the ingredients,

run back to our station and mix it all together.

Hopefully we get it here before everyone else does.

TYSON: The girls are down there already.

-Are they? -Yeah, they're down there.

How the hell did they get there so fast?

-It might be this one. -Salish Soil.

KATIE: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Okay, we're gonna have to shovel like

our life depends on it. Come on, come on!

MICHAEL: What's up, guys?

NICOLE: Two other teams are here with us,

but we're feeling good.

MICHAEL: Alright, we're gonna drop this off.

KATIE: Watch out, Taylor. TAYLOR: Dump that.

MICHAEL: Hey, this is the grounds crew.

We're just getting the, we're getting the field prepped.

We have to load it up into our wheelbarrow.

LAUREN: Let's go, follow them, fast.

MICHAEL: And then we have to go

a kilometre down a rocky terrain.

so we can collect 160 kilograms.

NICOLE: I think I got fish compost in my mouth.

Ugh, dude, I'm dead.

TAYLOR: We're gonna need to weigh it.

KATIE: Yeah, we need to deliver it.

MATT: You know what? My first job was on a farm,

so I dealt with a lot of soil and a lot of...

we'll call it fertilizer.

but we know that we have to step it up,

be more aggressive.

If other teams show up, should we tell them that

we're gonna do Kevin and Gurleen?

MATT: For the U-Turn? COLIN: Yeah.

So it's not on us.

COLIN: Even before this U-Turn vote came up,

we know that Kevin and Gurleen are tough competitors.

I mean, you don't win Big Brother by an accident.

Kevin is a huge threat in this game.

So, he's definitely not someone that we want in...

the last leg of the competition.

In this situation, you've got to get some names out.

Being a professional poker player,

maybe the best thing is I can read people.

A lot of teams are saying the wrestlers,

just to keep us all safe.

This U-Turn vote's gonna be absolutely vital.

I think we have enough social capital to survive it,

but we do have a big target on our backs too.

I think it gives me a unique set of skills for this race

because a lot of this race is about problem solving,

remaining calm under pressure.

JON: Teams must now drive themselves nearly

30 kilometres to the Langdale Ferry Terminal,

and set sail for Horseshoe Bay.

When the ferry arrives, racers will drive

24 kilometres to Granville Island

in downtown Vancouver,

and search for their next clue.

Teams must check in by 10:20 AM

to make the first sailing.

If not, they'll need to wait two hours

for the next ferry.

MICHAEL: "One team will win the Assist by Desjardins

for the next challenge." Alright, let's go.

TYSON: We've gotta rip.

TAYLOR: We saw Michael and Tyson already head back.

MICHAEL: Wow, wow. What a start.

TYSON: "Drive yourselves to the BC Ferry Terminal

at Langdale. You must check in by 10:20.

After 10:20, you may take the next ferry."

LAUREN: If this goes through,

we're getting out of here in second place.

KATIE: I want to beat them to the scale.

TAYLOR: We're at 125, and we need 160.

You've been to Granville Island a bunch, haven't you?

MICHAEL: Yeah, but I don't know where this place is.

We need to get to Granville Island.

Obviously, we know how to get there.

takes about 2 hours, 12 minutes, approximately.

obviously, I want you to show them 'cause

I'm rocking the hearing aids in my ears too,

and I see your cochlear implants.

A lot of people don't know that I was born

with a severe hearing loss.

Being bullied with hearing aids in my ears,

that was very tough.

Growing up, I had to be able to give people

something else to talk about.

Kind of my superpower has been work ethic,

my energy that I bring to the table every day.

JON: All teams are traveling by ferry through

Howe Sound to Horseshoe Bay.

Once arrived, they'll follow the

Sea To Sky Highway south

to Granville Island Market,

and search for their next clue.

[Ferry horn]

MICHAEL: First off the ferry. Being from Vancouver,

having a hometown advantage, getting off the ferry and

knowing exactly how to get to Granville Island...

that's, that's massive in itself.

COLIN: Newfoundland, woo!

We're really hoping that every other team...

has no idea where they're going or

gets lost along the way, 'cause if we can be

the first there and be the first out,

and the first to that U-Turn board,

then that will be a huge advantage for us.

they'll need to find Winnie,

who will give them a shopping bag containing a list of

six different ingredients they'll need to

purchase from vendors in the market.

Then, racers will need to deliver each ingredient to

six different restaurants in the Kitsilano,

Yaletown, and Granville neighbourhoods.

One lucky team will win the Assist by Desjardins,

giving them a little help in making their deliveries.

Man, that was nuts. We're headed to Penticton.

It was a very difficult challenge to find a cab.

SAM: A lot of people don't like Kevin and Gurleen.

OLIVIA: They're really actually shady.

KATIE: It's a race, it's a game,

but they're playing dirty. I don't like that.

JOHN: We got one, baby! Locked up cab.

CONNOR: Guys, get someone to call you a cab!

KATIE: We have! Twice now.

JOHN: That is the rudest thing you could ever do.

CONNOR: They're clearly playing a cutthroat game.

TAYLOR: [Crying] Oh.

Taylor, we learned a lesson here.

If we're gonna call a taxi, we have to keep our taxi

all day- we have enough money to pay for it.

Kevin and Gurleen should have called their own taxi,

we also learnt something about them.

after stealing our cab.

KATIE: If that was a race to the mat,

that could have cost us our spot.
