EPISODE 09

Hands off!

Watch out!

Captain Mu, how are you feeling?

I'm fine.

Here, drink some water.

Where are we now?

Uncertain.

We've been chased for over half a day.

The forest terrain is rugged and unyielding,

so I lost track of the direction.

Where are the others?

Why am I with you...?

How did I get here?

When the boulders fell,

I was stuck outside the valley.

I wanted to find an alternate way out to regroup with the team.

Then I saw them capturing you, Captain Mu,

and later...

Thank you.

You are welcome.

You're really good at running.

Go get them!

Kill him,

but take her alive.

Wait!

I will kill her if anyone comes any closer.

What do we do, boss?

The Holy Maiden has ordered us

to catch them alive.

Kid,

you are so despicable.

Move aside,

or I'll killed her!

Please calm down.

Let's talk about this,

and put down that knife.

Everyone, please back off.

My friend,

we can discuss your concerns.

Don't act recklessly.

Captain Mu.

What about?

Please excuse me!

Son of a bitch!

Chase them!

Stop there!

Bastard,

you really pissed me off!

I'll kill both of you even if I'm punished today.

This...

please put me down.

I am well now.

Let's get them.

Are you okay,

Captain Mu?

I've previously seen you at Qinan Province.

Who are you people?

Just wait,

the sect master's arrival heralds your subjugation!

These people took poison and committed suicide.

It's an evil sect cult.

Captain Mu.

You are finally awake.

You suddenly fainted and fell unconscious,

so I brought you here to rest.

Let's eat something first.

Give me that ointment,

I'll help you apply it.

Thank you.

It's done.

Should I start a conversation about something?

Your craftsmanship,

where did you learn it?

Craftsmanship?

Don't worry about it if you don't feel comfortable explaining.

I'm...

I'm just asking casually.

I learned everything from reading this book.

Mengxi Handwritten Notes.

This is an encyclopedic work written by Old Master Mengxi during the Song Dynasty.

It covers a wide range of topics from astronomy to geography.

There are a total of nine volumes,

and this is only one of them.

That's interesting.

The adults can read the book to relieve boredom.

I'll go gather some firewood.

It's you.

Just you alone?

That is...

a sword from Wenxiang Sect?

Watch her closely.

If you lose her again, you'll all be in big trouble.

Yes.

Luo Qingning?

Let's return to the sect.

Yes.

Empty hometown,

no biological parents.

Greetings, Holy Maiden!

I didn't realize there's a different world in this deep mountain forest.

I previously stole a set of their clothes,

perhaps I can sneak in and have a look?

Empty hometown,

no biological parents.

Such a rude person.

I got in just like that?

This place is quite big.

Let's find out where Mu Siqing is first.

Hi, kid.

Are you from the Huanglong Sect?

Huanglong Sect?

Yes.

I've heard many of your people lost their lives to the Jinyiwei.

I'm lucky to have survived.

The sect master of Huanglong Sect has returned to the embrace of the Birthless Old Mother.

The Huanglong Sect is likely to be disbanded.

This brother can join our Bishui Sect later.

By that time, I hope this brother can take good care of me.

No problem.

Right,

what's your name?

My name is Wu Zhongsheng.

Wu Zhongsheng?

Damn it!

Empty hometown,

no biological parents.

Greetings, Holy Maiden!

Greetings, Holy Maiden!

You...

Raise your head.

Holy Maiden Qingning,

Mr. Rang has something to discuss with you.

He wants you to go there immediately.

Understood.

Brother, you're so nervous.

The Holy Maiden is so oppressive.

That's true.

Our sect has six Holy Maidens,

and Holy Maiden Qingning's martial skill is the best.

She's also the most beautiful.

Yes, that's right.

Didn't we just capture a Jinyiwei?

Let me tell you,

the Jinyiwei we recently caught has an important background.

Her father is a government official.

I heard they will use her to threaten her father

to serve as our internal mole.

Such an important person,

then we should watch her carefully.

That you don't need to worry about.

The Holy Maiden locked her in her room under her personal supervision.

Furthermore, she has ingested Mr. Tang's paralysis toxin.

Thank you, brother.

Thanks for what?

It's nothing. I'll go first.

I just heard the Holy Maiden is looking for me.

Why didn't I hear that?

Brother, you should go this way.

Okay, brother.

There are several traps,

but no one was posted to guard them.

Otherwise, it'll take more effort to disarm them.

If there were guards,

you wouldn't be able to get in.

You are really bold, Shen Wen.

Did the Holy Maiden mistake me for someone else?

Do you enjoy pretending?

Now the lamb is in the tiger's mouth,

like a turtle in a jar.

How do you plan to die?

Without those mechanical entrapments,

with your lame kung fu skills,

you can't beat me.

Furthermore, this is my place.

All I need to do is yell,

and even with wings, you can't escape.

Then we have to try to find out.

You can try to escape,

but this cute Captain Jinyiwei remains here.

Mu Siqing!

You didn't hesitate to sneak into this sect.

I think it's to save her.

I was just joking with Miss Luo.

Stop all that giggles.

You are such a sinister little man.

Your tricks have brought me grief.

It's always Miss Luo who started it.

I was forced into self-defense.

Let's forget about the past.

Since you are here as expected,

why don't we have a good conversation?

Sit down.

I wonder what's on Miss Luo's mind.

It's not urgent.

Why don't you have a cup of tea first?

We can talk after the drink,

and about what I wanted you to do.

It tastes exactly like the previous tea.

I think it also contains paralysis toxin.

So you've been playing dumb last time.

Mr. Shen,

why do you want to be a Jinyiwei?

I want to be promoted and get rich.

But you do not look like that type of person.

Miss Luo seems to know me well.

Then what kind of person do you think I am?

A despicable, shameless person.

Miss Luo has some deep prejudice against me.

Your heart should have already told you.

Shen Wen, why is he here?

By the way, is Captain Mu fine?

Don't worry.

Rang Yanzhong plans to use her as a hostage,

so he won't hurt her for now.

That's good to know.

I hated that Jinyiwei uniform,

so I changed her clothes.

Master Shen,

what do you think of her outfit?

Miss Luo has attractive and captivating eyes.

The clothes she chooses are naturally stunningly beautiful,

as expected from a former courtesan of Qiuyue Pavilion.

What do you think between me and Captain Mu,

who's more beautiful?

Both are fairy-like beauties.

I can't tell the difference with my naked eyes.

Hypocritical!

Don't you think I'm better looking than her?

Quick, tell me who's prettier?

Let's stop talking about this.

You lured me here

not just for the beauty pageant, right?

I want you to get something for me.

The Bull Beast Talisman?

That's right, you are smart.

If you can get it for me,

I'll let both of you go free.

Since you are willing to risk your life to sneak into our Holy sect,

you must care about this Jinyiwei Captain.

Of course I care,

she's very important to me.

What?

Does Mr. Shen love her?

She is my lucky charm.

Why?

Relying on her for promotion and wealth?

Her father is just an Imperial Jinyiwei.

A fourth-grade rank official is nothing in the capital.

You're better off relying on me.

Your tone reeks of arrogance.

What official rank is backing you?

Stop inquiring about my background.

Could there be any connection between you and the Wenxiang Sect group?

You knew that already, right?

Don't play dumb in front of me.

Why are you wanting me to go?

The location where the Bull Beast Talisman is hidden contains numerous traps.

But with your craftsmanship,

it shouldn't be much trouble for you.

Sure.

Master Shen agrees so quickly,

yet I don't trust you.

You tricked me

multiple times.

Mutual trust is the foundation of cooperation.

Otherwise, what can you do?
