EPISODE 03

EPISODE 03 Help!

EPISODE 03 I'm innocent!

I'm innocent!

Mr. Shen,

look at what you've done.

Miss Luo clearly started it,

so how am I responsible?

Just you wait!

Shop Owner... Shop Owner, please save me!

It seems like you're enjoying yourself here,

even finding time to flirt with others.

How could that be possible?

Aren't you having fun at the Flower Boat?

Nope,

I went there to repair things.

Two days ago, I remember seeing someone

peeking at others from the porch.

Observing the sky... Observing the sky!

I'll get someone to bail you out,

but don't expect to get paid this month.

Then, I'd rather stay locked up.

If you miss a day's work,

you'll face a ten-day wage deduction.

I'm sorry, Shop Owner.

Can you get me out of here?

Wait for a few more moments.

Miss Wan, visiting time is almost over.

Her looks is just average.

Hey, Mr. Prison Guard Big Brother, please keep an eye on him

and feed him better food and drinks.

Look how hungry he is.

I hope we can lure out some big fish this time.

Tonight, I'll find an opportunity

to investigate the Qiuyue Pavilion.

JINYIWEI PRISON

Captain Mu.

What's the situation?

Luo Qingning spent the morning scolding Shen Wen,

but there wasn't any useful information.

It seemed like a personal dispute.

Later, the owner of the Wanjia Silver Shop visited Shen Wen,

and their conversation was mostly about domestic matters.

Finally,

a group of Qinan Prefecture scholars

arrived to protest.

What are they protesting about?

They want Luo Qingning released

and are demanding severe punishment for Shen Wen.

These scholars are hopeless.

Have you investigated the Wan family?

The second son of the Wan family is

Wan Liang, who is the boss of Wan Tongxing in this city.

The Wan family is a well-known and wealthy merchant family in Qinan Province,

having contributed to many charities.

So far, nothing suspicious has been found.

Shortly after Wan Shisheng left,

a representative from Prince De's Mansion arrived to pick up Luo Qingning.

Prince De's Mansion... Are they involved in this too?

It appears they just came to post bail.

A little while ago, Prince De's representative came

and warned us not to be too presumptuous.

He also sent a petition to the capital overnight.

We'll need to be more restrained from now on.

Let him complain.

If we find the Beast Talisman,

their noise are irrelevant and not important.

We've inspected the items.

It's just a collection of weird contraptions.

Is there any hidden storage compartment?

Did you thoroughly inspect everything?

This...

Some of these locks are complex.

We'll need more time to figure out how to unlock them.

Then we'll just pry it open!

No, we can't!

It's better to ask Shen Wen to open them himself.

Without evidence,

you can't use force.

Besides being a distinguished scholar, Shen Wen

is also a skilled craftsman.

Today, the capital

highly values and favors skilled craftsmen.

Captain Mu

Captain Fu

Captain Lin came late at night to visit.

Is there anything we can do for you?

Magistrate Yang asked me to inform you both

that if the investigation yields nothing,

he hopes Master Shen can be released tomorrow.

As you both may know,

the imperial court is currently recruiting skilled craftsmen,

and Master Shen is one of Magistrate Yang's recommended talents.

Captain Lin, can you tell me

more about Shen Wen's personality?

Master Shen is a skilled craftsman

and a kind-hearted individual.

He often helps poor families in town

by repairing their farm equipment and tools

without asking for any payment.

He enjoys tinkering with mechanical creations every day

and is known to be honest and sincere.

His reputation is quite good.

He arrived in this city about six months ago.

Where was he before that?

I believe he came from

Shenjiazhuang in Daming Province.

I see.

If there's no other issue,

I will release him tomorrow.

Then I won't take up any more of your time.

Why so chagrined,

Lady Qingning?

The Jinyiwei are now keeping a close watch.

Mr. Zhuge,

really dare to come here so openly?

Don't worry,

those few Jinyiwei won't discover me.

Qiuyue Pavilion is already under their surveillance.

I have plans to move to a different location.

Besides, there's going to be an uprising in September,

so this place won't matter anymore.

Doesn't matter, that's your business.

I'm asking on behalf of Mr. Rang

the status of the Suanni Beast Talisman.

The Suanni Beast Talisman

should be in Shen Wen's possession.

You mean the master craftsman, Shen Wen?

I've heard his craftsmanship is quite impressive.

I've been wanting to compare notes with him.

But Shen Wen is in Jinyiwei custody

and is currently in the city prison.

We need to find a way to get him out.

Leave that to me.

Mr. Zhuge should be careful.

The lady in charge of Jinyiwei, Captain Mu, is quite skilled in martial arts

and is a quasi-Houtian rank warrior.

Other than a few famous Jinyiwei experts in the capital,

I don't fear anyone.

By the way,

what does Shen Wen look like?

What do you want?

Sorry to disturb you,

can you tell me where Shen Wen is?

He's in the last cell on the right.

Thank you.

Where is he?

Hi!

Good evening, Miss Mu.

A prison break?

No,

that's not true.

I wouldn't dare.

I came out for some stargazing.

Open the box!

I want to see what's inside.

People say you're skilled in craftsmanship.

I want to see it for myself.

Those are just minor nuances.

Stop the small talk and open the box quickly!

Relax... no rush.

This is a exquisitely crafted mechanism,

which makes the box interesting.

Who are you?

From your behavior, I can tell you're Shen Wen.

Yes, I am.

Good, follow me.

I've come to rescue you..

Is he your accomplice?

How could I be?

I don't even know him.

Sorry for the confusion.

I'm Zhuge Jing.

The military strategist Zhuge Jing?

I didn't expect such a young Jinyiwei

to recognize my name.

Are you okay?

Do you need a physician?

It's fine,

I just had trouble sleeping last night.

You're quite brave

to come to prison to help someone break out.

Why wouldn't I dare?

Do you think you can stop me?

Who's that?

Help me arrest him!

Yes, ma'am!

Oh no, that smoke is poisonous.

Watch out!

Impressive skills!

Let's see how you handle my puppet beasts.

An ox and a horse?

That's mediocre!

Shen Wen, follow me quickly.

Where to?

I'm innocent,

so there's no need for a jailbreak.

Fine,

I'll take you with me after I deal with the Jinyiwei.

Captain Mu,

strike five inches below the tail of the wooden horse

and at the left neck joint of the wooden ox.

Well done, Shen Wen!

You identified the weak spots on the puppet beasts instantly.

Traitor! You betrayed me!

I've always been on Captain Mu's side.

I didn't expect a Jinyiwei to be this skilled.

Since I can't defeat the enemy, the best strategy is to flee.

Where are you going?

Get up!

Don't you know you're still a prisoner?

If that's the case, I'll go back to my cell and stay there.

It seems the cell can't hold you.

So you are coming with me.

Today, you’ll be under my supervision.

What kind of reasoning is that?

You're chasing a suspect,

and if you bring me along with you, I'll be a burden. So, it's not appropriate.

Without further ado,

let's go.

My lady,

you're still here?

That I... uh...

Mr. Zhuge.

I am careless.

I didn't expect Shen Wen to fumble at the last minute.

He's not a member of our team,

and besides,

if you're fleeing,

you shouldn't come here to my place.

I left my backup plan is in the secret passage.

Officers, if there's a problem, we can work it out.

Everyone, step aside!

Someone was just here.

Let's move.

You won't get away, evil lady!

Damn it, Zhuge Jing!

These idiots

dug the secret passage,

but couldn't they level the ground too?

Stop complaining and catch up.

Wait, it's an ambush!
