EPISODE 01

Agu,

how did it go?

Forget it,

I never considered relying on such a foolish bird.

What's your name?

Licheng City Where are you from?

Licheng City I'm Shen Wen,

and I come from Shenjiazhuang in Daming Province.

Show me your identification.

The flower girl of Qiuyue Pavilion, Luo Qingning,

is the most beautiful woman in this city.

Qinan Province is much livelier than Daming Province.

This time, I witnessed it myself.

The fox fairy's tail is emitting a fragrant scent.

Boss, how much are the buns?

Three wen coins each.

I'll buy two.

Okay, sure.

Multiple murders have occurred in both Qihe and Changqing districts.

It's better not to go out of town these days.

Sir, here are your buns.

Thank you.

Young man,

are you a master craftsman?

That's right.

Do you know anyhhing about the Six Harmony Beast Talisman?

I've heard a little about it.

Rumors say

the Six Harmony Beast Talismans contain the royal's peerless techniques,

and those who learn it can dominate the industry.

Rumors also state

they contain the knowledge of the peerless army's weapons,

treasure maps,

the elixir of life,

and the secret to ascending to immortality.

Yoh... Yoh... Yoh...

The contents aren't important.

What's more important is

that it's invaluable.

I secretly acquired the Six Harmony Beast Talisman a few days ago.

How about selling it to you?

Such a priceless item,

why would you want to sell it?

What's the use of me holding it?

Do you know that during the Yongle Dynasty,

to decode the secret of the Six Harmony Beast Talisman,

the Palace invited numerous craftsmen to study it,

but no one was able to solve the talisman's mystery?

Hm...

This Six Harmony Beast Talisman was created by Master Craftsman Kuai over 200 years ago.

He also stated that only a skilled craftsman can open it.

That's correct.

It's not a sin to possess something so valuable,

but since I can't decode it either,

keeping it only brings me trouble.

Why not give you that opportunity?

This...

Do not hesitate.

You should know that

the new emperor favors craftsmen with superb skills.

These days, every craftsman wants to prove they have the best craftsmanship.

If you successfully decode the secrets of the Six Harmony Beast Talisman,

you will be the best craftsman.

The moment I see you, I know

you are a person pursuing excellence.

Then you are mistaken.

You're so humble.

I hate that attitude.

Just take it.

It's fake and a bit rough.

Since you have taken the item,

it's time for you to pay up.

In broad daylight,

and in front of the public,

you try to swindle me into buying?

Young man,

I don't think you understand.

Those in plain sight are my people.

Then,

very well.

Are you kidding me?

Regardless of what you do with it, it's worth at least one tael silver coin.

This is all I have remaining.

No money?

Then use your box as payment.

And also this owl,

give it to me too.

Damn it!

Help me beat him up!

Xiao Tao?

It seems a foreigner has been targeted by the Qingluo Gang.

Judging by their posture,

a fight will break out soon.

Those lazy scoundrels

only know how to cheat others.

The Qingluo Gang thugs have planned this,

so this young man will suffer some physical pain.

You should tell the guards to warn them.

Don't let them go too far.

Alright, Miss.

Attack!

Be careful not to kill him.

Mr. Officer, would you care to intervene?

It's fine, keep fighting.

You can pay the damage compensation here later.

What kind of reasoning is that?

This...

I don't need this item,

you can take this back.

Flee!

Hey!

Wait a moment!

Pay for the damages!

It wasn't me who broke them.

Yes, it's you!

Note: 1,000-wen coins is roughly 1 tael of silver coin. Regional variations and economic factors could significantly affect the exchange rate. Each table costs 8,000 wen coins.

Note: 1,000-wen coins is roughly 1 tael of silver coin. Regional variations and economic factors could significantly affect the exchange rate. That will be 10 tael coins.

That's quite expensive.

Tables in this city

are priced this high.

Then let me repair it.

This young gentleman looks shabby,

but he is quite handsome.

Officer, it's all fixed.

Although it appears fixed,

the table already has structural damage.

How about this?

You pay one tael silver coin,

and we consider this settled.

But I only have 10 wen coins.

10 wen coins?

That's really poor.

Do you have anything of value?

For example, your box?

I'll help him pay.

Wan Shisheng

Miss...

Are you okay, miss?

Young man, do you want to hang out with me?

Half a year later.

Where's Shen Wen?

I saw him heading towards the porch just now.

Okay,

the day is not over yet,

and he dares to slack off.

Shop... Shop Owner.

What time is it now?

Now...

It's about 12:45PM.

And what are you doing?

Um...

Observing the sky.

It will probably rain today.

Observing the sky?

I think you are obviously being lazy.

Restraint.

Restraint?

I ask you to restrain yourself, and we'll see how well you manage.

The Jinyiwei are investigating a case, everyone freeze!

Jinyiwei? What kind of officials are they?

Keep your voice down, they are important figures.

Mu Siqing

Mu Siqing Stop talking, and stand still.

Search!

Stop!

What do you want to do?

I suspect this ship contains stolen palace treasures,

so we are here to inspect all the cargo.

You say you want to search for inspection,

but do you know whose ship this is?

This ship belongs to Master Chen, a senior official of the Dali Temple in the capital.

Who gave you the courage to

search our ship?

The Jinyiwei has the authority to investigate all internal affairs matters.

This is imperial authority.

Don't try to pull rank

No one, including Dali Temple senior officials, is above the law.

You...

You dare to draw your sword on a member of the Shilin faction?

Continue searching.

Madam official,

this cargo is very valuable.

Your brothers are too rough.

If the goods get damaged, it'll be difficult to explain.

This money is for you and your brothers to buy drinks.

Perhaps...

I see you feeling guilty about hiding something.

Keep searching.

Folks, listen to me.

Silence! What are you shouting about?

These treacherous Eunuchs' officials are lackeys.

They are cruel gentry blocking food shipments

to drive up food prices,

causing global starvation.

Are you seeking death?

The food being transported today

increased by three wen coins per bag.

Everyone, let's take action.

I do not believe these guards dare to kill people in broad daylight.

Quiet, everyone!

No more talking.

Stop them!

Surround this ship,

and don't let anyone escape.

Liu Shang and Wang Wu, follow me and chase after them.

Yes, Madam.

If the mechanism is broken, just call me to repair it.

There's no need to hit it so hard.

When it's broken previously, a few hits are enough to fix it.

Why doesn't it work this time?

And what logic is that?

While mechanical creations are exquisite, they are also fragile.

Okay, Okay!

We know Master Craftsman Shen is awesome.

But you shouldn't help other people repair their things often.

Otherwise, people keep coming back taking advantage of you.

We're neighbors, so we help if we are able.

You've only been here for less than half a year,

and everyone knows Shen, the talented repair master.

It's fixed!

By the way, Shop Owner.

You said yesterday that you wanted to eat osmanthus cake from the Old Street.

Since I have some time now, I will go and buy it for you.

Did I say that?

You did say that.

Alright, then go and come back quickly.

Stop him!

How audacious of you!

To dare to assault the Jinyiwei!

The Suanni Beast Talisman

is really here.

Don’t run around on the street.

It's very dangerous.

Xiao Qing, how's the situation here?

Frisk him!

Did he give that away?

Take him back for interrogation.

Something's not right. His clothing was touched by someone.

Could it be that person?

Wait a minute.

Gray clothing,

wearing a blue belt.

6 feet and 3 inches tall.

Stop!

Don't move, and put your hands up!

Don't move!

Raise your hands!

Officer,

do you want me to raise my hand or don't move?

Raise your hands and then don't move!

Take off your clothes.

Huh?

Take off your clothes!

What did you say? That doesn't sound appropriate.

Do it quickly!

Where did you hide that item?

What thing?

A tough guy, huh?

I'm asking, what is your name, and where do you live?

My surname is Shen, my name is Wen, courtesy name is Zhizhi, and I live in the Northern suburbs of the city.

Why did you come here?

I was helping the shop owner run errands and buy things,

specifically the osmanthus cake from the next street.

If the Officer has no further questions,

can I leave now?

Of course not.

You can follow me back to the station.

This...

I'm a scholar.

If the officer doesn't have a warrant,

you can't simply arrest me.

A person like you is a scholar?

Just lucky...

You can leave.

Has she gone?
