they rallied, and narrowly escaped elimination.

Note, there are three Express Passes

up for grabs in Vancouver."

KEVIN: Gurleen's from BC. We're gonna go over there

and dominate on her home turf.

GURLEEN: We annihilated the teams...

KEVIN: We smoked 'em. We smoked 'em.

GURLEEN: ...in the first leg of the race.

-Let's go! OK, let's go! -Let's go!

KEVIN: It is a funeral for the other teams.

We are the assassins of the season.

GURLEEN: Confident but not cocky, baby.

KEVIN: We can be a little cocky.

LAUREN: "There are three Express Passes

up for grabs in Vancouver."

LAUREN: The legs are definitely hurting from

leg one, but no pain, no gain.

NICOLE: We love running!

AMARI: We're flying to Vancouver Airport.

MICHAEL: Our relationship is great.

We like to keep it fun so, we have a little thing

between us where we've dubbed ourselves

"Team Fun" because we're Father/Son.

[Laughing]

JULIA: We love BC! We love Vancouver.

We've been dying to go back, so we're pumped up.

We're excited.

OLIVIA: Julia and I are completely different.

We work really hard to understand each other,

and 10 years being together...

one year being married,

there's a reason why we're here.

COLIN: We're running this leg for all of Newfoundland,

but especially our mothers.

we're bringing our mothers with us on our feet here.

Hopefully, they're gonna get us to the first place.

MATT: First time in Vancouver. What a way to go!

SAM: We're going to Vancouver.

I am one of them, and to get to run this race

alongside my daughter means the world to me.

SAM: And I'm running this leg for you.

GURLEEN: Nice to meet you, I'm Gurleen.

MICHAEL: Dude, what do we got?

JOHN: I always need a little bit of extra height

in my life, so having you guys around will be great.

[Laughing]

CONNOR: I think part of our strategy is just to

definitely make some friends, use our charm

to get some sort of ally-ship.

JOHN: Being in the middle of the pack,

it's a smart place to be because everyone

will consider us for the Express Pass.

MICHAEL: I think we need to start working together

a little bit, man.

JOHN: Oh, I'm down to make an alliance with you guys.

Let's go.

TAYLOR: We'll talk to people in a bit.

I'm peopled out.

KATIE: We notice some teams are strategizing...

and scheming.

TAYLOR: I don't think we're planning on any alliances.

KEVIN: You guys were good.

GURLEEN: You guys are really good.

TAYLOR: We aren't people who would cross people

without having a reason to.

KATIE: Yeah, but if they give us a reason to,

they may regret it, but... [Laughing]

TAYLOR: Vancouver, here we come!

MICHAEL: Van-city, baby. SFX: [Bus honking]

DOROTHY: I had a leg injury that

slowed us down in the first leg.

OLUS: We were so exhausted,

and it almost cost us the race.

But it's a new day, the sun is shining.

DOROTHY: I feel better.

We can't wait to just bring that energy into this race.

KEVIN: Hello.

NICOLE: We're gonna quickly grab food,

but we wanted to chat,

see where your guys' head was at.

LAUREN: We're trying to grab intel.

KEVIN: Big picture, let's just be tight.

-Yeah. -Let's just work, yeah.

NICOLE: I'm down for that.

KEVIN: I think between all of us,

we have all the skills necessary.

Like one of us can win the whole game.

NICOLE: Yeah.

LAUREN: That chat made me a little uneasy because

like, I just don't know if I want to be thrown off

if it doesn't go my way. I don't know.

and keep our eyes on them.

MICHAEL: The first leg, I think I went 0 for 4

with 4 strikeouts, swinging at sliders in the dirt.

TYSON: Well, we lost our money in the first leg.

MICHAEL: "Dee-saster!"

TYSON: And are a little bit sore in the legs

having to run the entire first leg.

MICHAEL: [Laughing]

We've got to battle back here

and knock this one out of the park.

JON: All teams are now traveling on the same flight

over 3300 kilometres from Toronto to Vancouver,

where they'll catch one of five seaplanes arriving

10 minutes apart to Sechelt.

It's here 10 teams will experience the

stunning beauty of coastal British Columbia.

Once teams land in Vancouver,

they'll have a critical decision to make.

Race to sign up for an early flight,

or veer off course 2 kilometres,

in hopes of securing an ever-important

Express Pass.

OLIVIA: Taxi! Taxi!

KATIE: Taxi! Cab! OLUS: Taxis!

OLIVIA: Let's go! OLUS: Taxi!

KEVIN: Baby, baby, come! SAM: Let's go over here.

JOHN: Hi, sir! JULIA: Taxi! We're in line!

MICHAEL: Yeah! Taxi! Second Beach.

TYSON: Here! Let's go! Let's go! We've gotta go!

MICHAEL: So, first ones, 15 minutes in the

express lane for the Express Pass.

If we get a 5-minute lead right now,

that's all we need to get the Express Pass.

LAUREN: So, we have decided

to go straight for the seaplanes.

Are you good with that?

NICOLE: I'm good with that. Are you good with that?

I'm good with that, but am I making that decision?

NICOLE: No, it's perfect, it's good, it's good.

We've got to go to Second Beach.

So, we're gonna take a shot at the Express Pass.

We're gonna go risk it. We're gonna go check it out.

GURLEEN: Hopefully, this works out.

MICHAEL: We're headed to Second Beach

to try for the Express Pass,

and I think Michael and Tyson are ahead of us.

This might come down to a footrace as

soon as we get there.

But then is it worth getting on one of the last flights?

MICHAEL: Oh, this is the fun part.

DOROTHY: We need you to get us

to the Vancouver Harbour as quick as you can.

TAYLOR: Let's just skip the Express Pass.

JULIA: We're going to Vancouver Harbour.

OLIVIA: Seaplanes.

SAM: Hi, we're the next in line.

BRAD: We're in a race, we've got to get going,

if you don't mind.

We're not going for them. We're too late.

CONNOR: A bunch of teams are probably gonna

run for the Express Pass.

JOHN: We are the friendliest and most charming team so,

someone's probably gonna give it to us, to be honest.

[Honking]

COLIN: Frig. There seems to not be any cabs available.

Oh, that's brutal.

Okay, we're not going for the Express Pass.

COLIN: So, Matt, first time in Vancouver.

What are your thoughts so far?

MATT: Stressful. COLIN: [Laughs]

So we decided to go for two Express Passes because

there's so many strategic advantages that you can have

with another one to give away to another team.

TYSON: So, I have to say we've come a long way

from losing our money.

JOHN: Mike and Tyson,

they've got one Express Pass to give out.

NICOLE: Now we relax.

OLIVIA: A little nauseous,

but I'm happy for the opportunity...

with no vomit.

I do have motion sickness. I have my barf bag ready.

Not looking out the window too much.

CONNOR: This is wild, man.

SAM: This is so cool that we get to experience this.

BRAD: Unreal.

JON: When teams splash down in Sechelt,

they'll choose a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado

Bison ZR2 where they'll find their next clue.

KATIE: Woo! TAYLOR: Let's go, guys.

NICOLE: Let's get the clue. TAYLOR: Route marker.

[Together] "Save your breath."

Racers must drive to Halfmoon Sea Kayaks.

Teams will paddle into the frigid waters of

the Sechelt Inlet,

and prove they've got what it takes to

save themselves by executing the critical kayaking skill

known as self-rescue.

Once on the water,

racers will capsize their kayak,

get themselves safely back in their boat,

pump out all the excess water and paddle back to shore

where they'll receive their next clue.

LAUREN: Let's go fast, let's do this.

NICOLE: Taylor and Katie, are they the car behind us?

LAUREN: Yeah, I believe so.

KATIE: Halfmoon Sea Kayaks straight ahead.

♪

COLIN: [Laughing] MICHAEL: Let's go, fellas.

Alright, captain, get us there safely.

TYSON: Goose, Maverick. [Laughing]

MICHAEL: I think us being on the last flight,

I think if we put our heads together through this,

I think we can climb right through this.

GURLEEN: If we have the answer to something, we'll,

we'll throw you a bone, and like same thing with you guys.

MICHAEL: Absolutely.

GURLEEN: And we really mean that, like, we're not,

we're not like dogs like that.

MICHAEL: You're not bluffing?

[Laughing] KEVIN: No, dude.

MICHAEL: It's difficult to know whether or not

we can trust Kevin and Gurleen.

We want to work together through this whole leg and

see if we can get to the mat first.

But, if they decide to cross us,

we always have that Express Pass to use.

GURLEEN: Where did you find that?

AMARI: Harbour Flight Centre. MICHAEL: Inside there.

GURLEEN: You look so good.

JULIA: Oh, it's a kayak self-rescue. Sweet!

OLIVIA: That's epic.

OLUS: It's a cold day.

DOROTHY: There's also going to be a demonstration on the

beach on how to properly execute a kayak self-rescue.

OLUS: I do not love water.

CONNOR: This Chevrolet Silverado Bison is a dream.

INSTRUCTOR: The person in the front will want to

get in first, while the other person in the back is

counteracting the weight from the other side.

NICOLE: We grew up on the lake in Muskoka

every single summer. We're not hesitant,

we're just, let's bang this out, let's get it done.

Let's have all these steps right.

For this competition,

I'm gonna capsize my kayak all day.

LAUREN: Make sure you hold onto this

while we're flipping. NICOLE: Yeah.

SFX: [Bell chimes]

KATIE: So we've got to flip over.

TAYLOR: Yeah, we've got to flip over.

We need to capsize our kayaks and save ourselves.

KATIE: You gotta tip over. TAYLOR: Go.

SFX: [Bell chimes]

KATIE: Don't let go.

I'm gonna grip onto the boat, swing legs in...

SFX: [Bell chimes] TAYLOR: Take a seat.

Got it? Careful. And then the back.

Taylor, Taylor, careful, careful!

SFX: [Bell chimes] Okay.

TAYLOR: Then we pump, pump, pump, pump.

KATIE: Pumping all day.

Pumping, pumping, pumping.

So we're going northeast to Halfmoon Sea Kayaks.

AMARI: And where do we need to be going?

MICHAEL: Just stay on this road for now.

AMARI: Do you know what street this is?

MICHAEL: Not really.

KEVIN: What direction are we heading right now, babe?

GURLEEN: I don't know. Follow them, just follow them.

We're last in the pack.

I don't know what you want to do.

KEVIN: There's multiple people over here.

Now I feel so stressed.

KATIE: I'm pretty much there.

The twins are ahead of us. We have to catch up.

LAUREN: Keep going, we got this.

TAYLOR: Let's go hard. KATIE: Steer, steer, steer.

NICOLE: Check? GUY: Congratulations.

LAUREN: Yes! Let's go!

"Detour: Mallet Fest or Palate Test?"

JON: Now, teams must drive 22 kilometres along the

Sunshine Coast to the town of Gibsons, BC.

In Palate Test, racers will locate the Sunshine Coast

Olive Oil Company, where they'll have to

sample 10 different flavours of

olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Once they correctly identify each flavour,

Dave, the owner, will give them their next clue.

In Mallet Fest, teams will make their way

to Gibsons Public Market.

Once here, teams be welcomed by the infectious rhythms

and melodic melodies of the Knotty Dotters

who perform on the popular African instrument,

the marimba.

Racers will learn the exact same rhythmic melodic line,

and then perform at the perfect pace and pitch,

in sync with the Knotty Dotters

to receive their next clue.

NICOLE: Okay, Palate Test. Let's do it.

GUY: Congratulations, here's your clue.

KATIE: Okay, we're gonna go with Palate Test.

TAYLOR: Yeah, let's go. KATIE: Let's go.

Excuse me. Are you able to give us some directions?

KATIE: Hey man, that was the hardest suit to get into.

Wrestler legs. Those are thick thighs,

thunder thighs, as we like to call them.

DOROTHY: Okay, this way. OLUS: 3, 2, 1.

SFX: [Bell chimes]

DOROTHY: It's cold. Ah!

OLUS: We're struggling with getting back into the kayak.

Ugh!

Every time I try to pull myself on,

the kayak just flips over again.

Ah!

SAM: Okay, what side do you want to go to, left?

BRAD: Yeah, yeah. SFX: [Bell chimes]

CONNOR: One... SFX: [Bell chimes]

JOHN: Oh yeah, baby. I love the cold.

OLIVIA: Our boat capsized. We're saving our own lives.

JULIA: We're gonna do Mallet Fest.

Okay, buddy. Let's put our tasting caps on.

Oh, this one's definitely garlic.

This one's so good.

KATIE: What we have to do is correctly identify

six flavours of olive oils.

TAYLOR: This one's definitely orange.

KATIE: You're doing good. TAYLOR: Oh, man, ha-ha!

KATIE: And four combinations of olive oil and vinegar.

KATIE: Oh, truffle.

And label them.

TAYLOR: Dang! I'm loving this.

LAUREN: Oh, no, there. There's the girls.

TAYLOR: It's kind of hard sometimes when

you've got two different flavours on the go.

LAUREN: Should we just go lick it,

or do you want to do it with bread?

NICOLE: Let's try it with our finger.

LAUREN: If there is an etiquette to olive oil tasting,

we are not doing it.

NICOLE: We're like dipping our fingers in.

They're probably like, "These people are barbarians."

Okay, garlic and orange, are we confident with those two?

NICOLE: I think so, yeah.

JULIA: Previous seasons of The Amazing Race Canada,

when you have to distinguish taste,

it seems to give a lot of teams a lot of trouble,

and I think we're pretty excited to

learn the marimba instrument.

KNOTTY DOTTER: And you're gonna play.

we need to be in perfect sync with them.

KEVIN: We're going left on Sunshine Highway.

This leg has not started very sunny for us.

DOROTHY: [Effort grunting] Oh.

We are still struggling with getting back into the kayak.

DOROTHY: I can't hold the weight of the boat

for Olus to get back in.

OLUS: Every time I try to pull myself on,

the kayak just flips over again.

Hobby horsing is a new sport

where people perform with

colourful stick horses in a dressage style competition.

After locating Mise En Place Equestrian,

one racer will have to memorize and perform

this complicated course

of prancing, pivots,

and jumping the gates in a specific order

to receive their next clue.

NICOLE: Oh! [Laughing]

LAUREN: I'm so confused right now.

Reading the instructions, I notice that

there's different colours, and each different colour

is a different kind of maneuver.

LAUREN: Nicole and I are actors.

We're good at like pulling off a show, you know,

taking it from the paper, just like pulling it off.
