I told you to text me.

What?

Who came?

That bastard's turning this place upside down looking for us.

Stay hidden right there, got it?

Damn it.

Sorry, I was looking around, and...

I'll take care of it.

-If it was expensive, I'll... -No, it's all right.

I'll give you a call after I review the documents.

You should leave now.

Okay.

Goodbye.

-I'm sorry. -No problem.

SEONGSANGWAN

Hong-do!

EPISODE 12 THE SECRET REVEALED

It has been confirmed.

We'll head to Seongsangwan.

All right.

Let us go.

I almost missed you.

It's getting late. I'll drive you home.

No, it's all right.

It's impolite to say no all the time.

I'm just worried.

Shall we?

Thank you for the ride.

Hong-do.

Yes?

Did you

see it?

Excuse me?

I'm sorry.

I didn't mean to.

I saw a limited edition Camille, and...

I'm so sorry.

Did you

go behind my closet as well?

The thing is...

SHIN YOON-BOK

Just a moment.

Hey, Yoon-bok.

Me?

I'm on my way home from Seongsangwan.

Well, Mr. Lee is giving me a ride.

Oh, okay.

I'm sorry, but could you drop me off here?

Yoon-bok says he's nearby.

Thank you for the ride.

Hong-do.

I'll see you around.

Yun-a.

What's going on?

What the hell?!

Yi-bok.

We can't find any evidence.

How's Master Kim?

She says she saw something there, Young Master.

What on earth is all this?

This bastard's not messing around.

-Is everything okay? -Yes.

How is she?

She seems startled but otherwise fine.

We must find Lee Jun-ho.

Figure out where he might have gone.

Got it.

Yoon-bok.

-Master. -Are you okay?

Yes, I am fine.

I had no idea Mr. Lee Jun-ho was like that.

I am relieved you are safe.

But where has Hong-hak gone?

Oh, Hong-hak?

He has a webcomic meeting and won't be home tonight.

Excuse me?

Does that mean you will be home alone?

I guess so.

I cannot allow that.

I must stay by your side and keep you safe.

-What? -If you will allow it,

I shall spend the night here.

You'll sleep here?

Okay.

Well, of course.

I definitely allow it.

Gladly.

Make yourself at home.

Right here.

Okay.

I hope you have a good night.

Thanks.

Oh my. Why aren't you asleep?

What about you, Master?

I just couldn't sleep.

Is that so?

Yeah.

In that case,

please have a seat.

-Should I? -Yes.

I shall tell you a story

until you fall asleep.

A story?

It is from a book I read as a child

when I could not sleep.

I see.

One of Kong Qiu's disciples once said,

"Good fortune derives from frugality,

virtue derives from humility,

duty derives from comfort,

and vitality

derives from brightness."

What a great story.

"Do not refuse what the ways of nature give you

and do not chase after what has already passed."

"Do not hope for what has not happened

and do not be concerned with what has already happened."

"Secure what is honorable

and be true to your heart."

"Be vigilant...

and be wary."

I'm back.

Hong-do,

I just had a terrible nightmare.

You and my dear friend Yoon-bok were...

Please do not say anything.

What?

We're...

dating.

I need a place to stay.

What?

Mr. Lee Jun-ho?

So was it him who hurt you last time?

I didn't think he'd be capable of that.

So, unfortunately,

I think we'll have to look elsewhere for the catering.

Do you have a place in mind?

What if we ask the villagers of Seongsan?

It'd symbolize our collaboration with the village.

I like the idea.

Make it happen, Hong-do Kim.

Yes, ma'am.

I found his car, Young Master.

Hey!

Is this a joke to you?

What do we do now?

The bait has been thrown, so we must wait for a bite.

I will meet with Lady Yeoju tomorrow just in case.

Goodness.

Oh my gosh!

I almost jumped out of my skin!

I'll take this.

This goes to Lord Shin's room, right?

Are you trying to get caught? Hand that over.

Come on, don't worry about me.

I'll be there and back like the wind.

Woosh!

Woosh!

Oh goodness me.

All right.

Goodness, this room is full of treasures.

Look at that stone.

This looks expensive.

Seeing as that thief managed to enter my room,

he must be someone close.

Who could it be?

What is this smell?

Who are you?

I intend

to help you take over

as the head of Seongsan Village.

If only Se-ryung was not arranged to marry Yoon-bok.

Gosh, my neck.

Answer me truthfully.

Who are you?

Me?

My name is Kim Chil-bok.

Do you work for Phony?

No, not at all.

I've been instructed to hide here

by the young master of this household.

By Yoon-bok?

The thing is,

I saw something I was not meant to see.

Worried that I might kick the bucket,

he let me hide here.

I'm something like a card up his sleeve.

Do you expect me to believe that?

He is telling the truth.

Young Master!

Is this not the key to the storage?

That man saw Phony

with the key.

But this was your father's possession.

The truth will be revealed when Phony is caught.

Has he not been caught already?

Grandfather, the truth is...

the real Phony is someone else.

What?

I told you to be careful.

Slow down, will you? You might upset your stomach.

Get me radish water kimchi.

Goodness me.

-Now! -Wait a minute.

Hurry!

Young Master.

Oh my goodness.

You seem to get thinner every time I see you.

Are you sure you're eating properly?

Do not worry about me.

Take care of yourself, Lady Yeoju.

Well, I should be eating less.

Have you been well?

Yes, as always.

How is Jun-ho doing?

I wouldn't know.

He's never been the type to call.

Master!

Hey, Yoon-bok.

What brings you here?

I'm here to see your grandfather about the fashion show.

Then I shall accompany you on your way back.

I will wait until your business here is finished.

Really?

Then let's get food on the way back.

That sounds good.

Hello.

SEONGSAN VILLAGE, THE SITE OF CAMILLE'S FIRST SHOW IN ASIA

EXPECTED EFFECTS OF CATERING FOR THE FASHION SHOW

I shall consult with the villagers.

Thank you for your consideration.

Is your name

Kim Hong-do?

Yes.

I hear you are a great help to my grandson.

Thank you.

Not at all.

Yoon-bok has been a greater help to me.

This may sound unpleasant to you,

but Yoon-bok has a duty to return to the village.

The greater the love shared, the greater the pain may be.

It may be best for both of you to share your emotions

only to a manageable degree.

I understand what you mean, sir.

However,

I think you should allow Yoon-bok to make that decision.

As long as he's happy with whatever he decides to do,

I'm going to respect his choice.

Maybe I shouldn't have said that.

No.

I did the right thing for Yoon-bok.

Yeah, I did good.

Or did I not?

I don't know anymore.

How was your meeting?

It went well.

What do you want to eat?

I am happy to eat whatever you like.

Really?

Should we get sausage and rice cake skewers at the rest stop?

Have you been to one?

I think I may have passed one.

Did you eat anything there?

I would give everything up

to protect her.

As long as he's happy with whatever he decides to do,

I'm going to respect his choice.

NEW MESSAGE

WHEN WILL WE DO BUSINESS? I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER

CALL ME NOW WHY AREN'T YOU REPLYING?

IT'LL BE OVER FOR BOTH OF US IF WE FAIL THIS TRANSACTION

I'LL LET YOU KNOW WHEN I DECIDE ON A LOCATION

What did you just say?

You will take back the marriage letter?

That is ridiculous!

I acted hastily without realizing how resolute Yoon-bok was.

-I apologize. -Lord Shin!

Let us discuss this matter again at a later time.

I will not just sit back and watch.

I didn't expect you to contact me first.

Let us hear what you have to say.

These will help you gain what you desire.

Hong-do Kim.

Yes, ma'am.

I got a call from Seongsan Village.

They agreed to cater for the show.

-Well done. -Thank you.

Now, let's see what you've worked on.

Yes, ma'am.

-Change the lining to silk. -Yes, ma'am.

There's a sense of self-satisfaction from a texture only you can feel.

-I see. -Aside from that, this is perfect.

Thank you.

Here.

Get to work, everybody.

-Yes, ma'am. -Yes, ma'am.

Let's take a break.

Coffee's on me.

-Really? -Yeah.

Awesome!

You're the best.

I'm not really into coffee.

Well, you can get something else. What would you like?

I can't sleep at night if I drink caffeine.

I want a caramel java chip shake

with extra caramel syrup, whipping cream, ice, cinnamon powder,

chocolate chips, and java chips.

Okay.

Let's go.

Let's take a picture too.

Hong-do Kim, this is...

Why aren't you all working?

At this rate, the models will be wearing underwear on stage.

We'll get back to work after a quick cup of coffee.

Coffee?

Should I go with you?

Sorry?

I'll treat you all.

-Really? -We can get some cake too.

You can get two drinks.

Really?

-Okay! How about three drinks? -Let's go!

Sure. Come on, let's all go!

Coffee!

Let's go!

Where are you?

I'M ALMOST THERE

Come to the second floor.

COME TO THE SECOND FLOOR

We'll get your sentence reduced if you cooperate with us.

Damn it.

What happened?

Check the upper floor.

Got it.

He couldn't have gone far.

He must be close by.

Block the entrance and watch the back, Officer Lee.

Detective Kim, go that way. Detective Jang, come with me.

Come on, let's move it!

-Yes, ma'am. -Yes, ma'am.

What brings you all here at this hour?

The pichohye is a tradition

that our village's very own artisan worked very hard to preserve.

How is it that it has become known to be from France?

You deceived the villagers and sold away our tradition!

That is absolutely ridiculous.

It is a good thing that a forgotten tradition

has received global attention.

And all profits from the sales have been donated

to support efforts to bring back cultural assets.

In that case,

how do you explain this?

Is the fashion show not a scheme

for you and this lady to profit personally?

The fashion show will never happen.

If this is confirmed to be true,

you will have to step down as the head of the village.

Lord Lee!

Lord Lee!

Oh my! Lord Shin!

Goodness, my lord.

My goodness.

What is it?

What happened to Grandfather?

Young Master.

What happened?

Don't get me started.

The elders of the village barged in

and caused a commotion.

I shall stay by Grandfather's side.

Go get some rest, Lady Yeoju.

All right.

What?

The fashion show has been canceled?

I don't know what the rush was,

but I received a call from the elders at the break of dawn.

Let's go.

What?

We need to find out what's going on!

You must rest.

I am fine.

It was not necessary

for Lady Yeoju to worry you about this.

Those things

have caused a misunderstanding.

Misunderstanding?

What misunderstanding?

What on earth did they get wrong to cancel the show?!

Well, this is all true.

Excuse us.

Has the show been canceled?

Yeah.

I apologize.

This is all my fault.

Who in the world...

Who stirred up this trouble over the past?

Give me time to correct this situation.

You saved the village from trouble, Lord Lee.

That is right.

I now realize that the true head of Seongsan Village

is you, Lord Lee.

You all deserve the credit.

Are you in?

Please come in.

Why the sudden visit?

Why are you doing this?

It is out of concern for the welfare of the village.

The village?

Is it not because I took back the marriage letter?

The people have turned against you.

With how things are now,

you should step down voluntarily.

That would salvage your reputation.

By no means will I do that.

I will reveal the truth

and put everything back to its place.

Has this all happened

over the issue of my marriage?

Are you in?

Lady Se-ryung.

May I...

May I have a word with you?

What I am about to say should have been said ages ago.

I know how you feel about me.

But I am sorry to say...

I cannot

return your feelings.

How could you be so cruel?

I know I have caused you sorrow and resentment.

It is best that we end things here

before we both get hurt.

Then what am I supposed to do?

All fault lies with me.

So do not let other people affect you.

Send all criticism and rebuke

my way.

I genuinely hope

that you meet a good man

who recognizes your kindness...

and live a happy life.

This is ginseng juice made by a renowned physician from Jirisan.

Don't leave a drop.

Thank you.

I shall store away our relationship in this box

and forget anything has happened.

Therefore,

you must forget me as well and live your life.

I feel bad that I sent you the key and caused all this to happen.

I'm sorry.

Do not think that way.

Though things have gone awry,

I was happy that I got to see you again.

As if.

Whenever I thought of you,

I was reminded of the day I left you with this colored pencil

and felt distraught.

Well,

I know you had no other choice back then.

I would've done the same thing.

So stop letting it weigh on you.

Where did Yoon-bok go?

Here you are.

Why are you here, Master?

I couldn't sleep,

so I looked around for you.

How's your grandfather?

How is Madam Camille?

Don't worry too much.

It'll all work out.

Do not worry as well, Master.

I will find a solution.

I'll get back to Seoul and handle this situation.

Once things settle here, I'll make my way there.

Take care.

Lord Lee is such a thoughtful man.

-He's the only person who cares about us. -Exactly.

He's the best.

-Thank you so much. -No problem.

Here you go.

Thank you, Lord Lee.

-Here you go. -What a precious gift.

Our family's soybean paste

owes Seongsan Village for its popularity.

It is only right that I share the profits with the people.

Thank you.

Take as much as you want!

Thank you.

-Here. -Thank you.

Thank you, Lord Lee.

Are you saying you want to work with me?

Why should I accept your offer?

CONTRACT

HELP BRING CAMILLE FASHION SHOW TO SEONGSAN VILLAGE

RECEIVE 10% OF THE PROFIT IN EXCHANGE

I do not want the village to come into conflict due to me.

If it is the villagers' will,

I shall step down.

Madam Camille!

-Stop right there! -Madam Camille!

Madam Camille!

Mr. Shin has left the village.

I said, Mr. Shin has left the village.

Say hello to the man who will help us with the fashion show from now on.

How could you do this?

Mr. Shin has helped us so much.

Don't you think this is too harsh?

Hong-do Kim.

I'll stop at nothing for my goals.

I shall do it.

Are you all right?

It is peaceful here.

So will you allow the fashion show?

I would allow it a hundred times if I could,

but it is not something I can decide on my own.

I shall talk to the villagers.

Cheers.

They say kings are chosen by the heavens and not the people.

I guess you were meant to be the head, Lord Lee.

I didn't know things would change this quickly.

This is all thanks to the Woorim family's former servant that I...

Who cares? I just care about the fashion show.

Anyway, here's to a bright future.

Cheers.

I wish I could've seen the old man's face when his life fell apart.

Hello?

I found it.

The safe has been unlocked.

Open the safe.

The safe has been opened.

Thank you, Lord Lee.

The Administration will avoid losing face

thanks to your help with the fashion show.

Do not mention it.

It was only right that I helped as the new head of the village.

Everyone looks busy.

Of course.

Lord Lee's first big event as the head needs to be spectacular.

The press will be here soon, as well as the gifts for the guests.

Oh right, Lord Lee.

Will cars be allowed to enter?

Please.

I am the head of the village. That is no problem at all.

I made the arrangements.

This doesn't feel right.

AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY

Long time no see.

Model?

I'd love for you to be the main model of the fashion show.

Well, if Yoon-bok agrees to it...

Mr. Lee Jun-ho, you are under arrest for violating

the Cultural Heritage Protection Act and for special larceny.

I have something to ask you.

Were you involved in my father's death seventeen years ago?

Who are you?

Kim Chil-bok?
