here's how it works moving this mouse

along this special track selects one of

these three symbols the symbols

represent the choices available the same

as an ordinary computer menu stopping

the mouse selects one of the choices to

turn a lamp on and off open and close a

window or summon help in an emergency

they each choice on the computer

activates the corresponding physical

human that lamp

the window

and the emergency bell

how did the dogs know which one they're

choosing that's where great training and

superb technology come together and

that's why we had the computer record

your voices when you came in you see

when the dog stops moving the mouse the

owners voice speaks the selection and

ask the dog to confirm it the dog then

has to bark to activate the physical

unit ah maybe well and lassie would like

to help me demonstrate then again maybe

not max can do it well thanks for your

offer Charles but lassie would be happy

now the emergency situation is

represented by this cross symbol and

over there we have a smoke device that

will simulate an emergency for us oh so
