that we would add a great time you know

what though there is maybe one way I

could get to go which is dad here all

right guys what's up hey Dad boy am I

glad your own look Jonathan wait a min

let me guess you want me to run the

three of you down for some frozen yogurt

that's not it mr. Latimer your problems

are over if you're still looking for a

new building for your bar well as a

matter of fact I am my dad's available

you can't find a better contractor than

my dad huh that's it it's a pretty good

recommendation and as a matter of fact

I've heard nothing but compliments about

your dad's work when did this job's fell

through if you move fast you've got a

chance to land him huh well I think that

sounds like a terrific idea what do you

think Jonathan yeah so dad what did you

learn to answer I don't what I'll pick

it up fast all right why are you looking

at your watch every 30 seconds what's a

surprise then this is great dad I know

you didn't want to talk about business

with me the other day right right well

at first I didn't get it but now I

understand it's because I'm a kid and

it's not right to talk to kids about

money and income

who's that Danna told you it's a

surprise sledda me and you only would

have to ask him he's gonna ask you hey

Chris how are you hello Roger look I

don't know it will told you he's a great

kid yeah this looks terrific it must be

a lot of work I enjoy it oh it's you do

hey listen I guess you already heard I'm

looking for a new contractor to build

the biggest bar in the Latimer chain and

well we'll sold me on the idea that

you're the man for the job well I

appreciate the offer but it's a heck of

a Salesman yeah apparently personally I

wish I had a PR man like that working

for me well I'm sure we'll meant well

it's just that well I'm too busy at the

moment I can't even consider it but

thanks oh it's uh it's just that will

indicated that you have the time well

we'll doesn't know the first thing about

my business I I just can't do it sorry

we haven't even discussed the money I

don't care how much money it is the

answer's no Hey okay Chris I get the

picture sorry I bothered you come on

Jonathan we better go

I was just trying to help what does I do

wrong

the sales almost finished how's the work

coming it's not in here as dead ok so I

didn't come in to ask about the board

why aren't you working with dad doesn't

need any help for me what's going on

dad said he was looking for work so I

told mr. Latimer mr. Latimer tried to

hire him but he turned him down and now

he's mad at me mr. Latimer probably aim

to I meant dad dad must have his own

reasons for not taking the job he just

said he wasn't doing it I'm sorry will

he doesn't get the money and you can't

go to baseball camp I don't care about

can if you don't have enough money I

understand there's a lot of things

Jonathan gonna do that I can't it's not

that instead and me what does I do that

was so wrong why don't you ask him I

can't I can't talk to him dad's always

said we can talk to him about anything

yeah but not about this it's weird this

is the first time he won't talk he's

different I don't know what's going on

but I do know what this rate we're not

gonna be sailing I still say you should

talk to him no I won't do any good

classy it's not about the camp anymore

hey lassie how you doing huh

lassie lassie bring that back

well I don't know why you need a strap

but it has to go over here on this board

okay

Megan your father has his own reasons

for not taking the job that's exactly

what I told will good mom I was just

trying to make him feel better well he

does have his own reasons great what are

they look it's over it's done with he'll

get another job that's the nature of his

business dad won't talk to will you're

taking the fifth this isn't us our

family's falling apart Megan believe me

your dad's not doing this to protect

himself well I just want you to know Mom

anytime you want to talk I'm here

what's going on who said anything about

protecting anybody

if he's not protecting himself he has to

be protecting mom from what from whom

mr. Latimer will said she knew him in

college so what lassie that's what dads

hang up is mom and mr. Latimer well I

think we've got to get this straightened

out

um there's something we need to talk

about okay what is it we have a problem

hmm didn't tell me I think you know it's

well to put it bluntly it's about you

and me and what I can't tell you with

him here he's too young I need the

scissors straps are too big sorry lassie

likes to be flavored ones no rush

how could you give her that cheese all

right I think this has gone far enough I

want the problem between you two brought

out in the open and settled yeah I don't

think we have to say any more about it I

don't either MSC well making you had

something to say what is it dad's here

well is he too young to know he's too

dad oh never mind Megan well this is

just great somebody's got to talk to

somebody sometime see anything steel

okay what is all this racket about

something lassie doesn't just bark for

no reason

you were right last he doesn't bark for

no reason she wanted to get us all

together well I think she's smarter than

we've been it's time to talk this out I

don't think so might as well I know what

it is anyway you do what Megan we're

supposed to be a family no more secrets

well okay mom and mr. Latimer were they

had something going in college what know

that this isn't about me and mr. Latimer

Chris if you don't tell them I have to

this isn't protecting them this is

hurting all of us

alright maybe you're right well the

reason I couldn't work for mr. Latimer

is well I just can't build the bar you

can't he won't I can't and I won't why

what have you got against bars you

wanted an explanation you got it that's

it no that's not it he won't because of

all the things that I've been to d don't

my father was an alcoholic grandpa he

was really nice I'll remember him very

well I remember he was fun he's to play

with us he'd pretend to fall asleep I'm

gonna tickle him a minute wake up and

pretend to fall off his chair yeah but

he wasn't pretending he was drunk

oh is that use a neat guy it was a great

guy and a great father until he was

drunk I loved him very much but I could

never depend on him grandma always had

to work because he couldn't hold down a

job and I well it just wasn't a very

happy place to grow up he was wonderful

to us yeah were you were very young and

we were trying to protect you did he

ever stop drinking when it killed him

dad it's not like you were selling

alcohol now someone else will build a

bar will to understand you would have

had to see how bad it was and what it

did to people that you loved

and I guess you'd have to love somebody

enough to see all the pain that they

I just can't do anything that's gonna

promote the use of alcohol I don't care

if the whole world thinks I'm nuts I

guess that's what this is all about when

you believe in something you don't sell

out blood you're my dad

course you were wrong about one thing

what you're not a better vision than

Fernando

but nobody's a better dad

sales ready yeah what are we waiting for

mamas

mad

que él se

i mighta wanted hurry up

you
