Original subtitles

At around 2pm today, there was a hostage situation...

in the center of the city.

It has been confirmed that the suspect is the detective...

who had entered a high school a year ago to kill...

the son of Seoul District Prosecutor Yoon Seung Ro.

Reporter Shin Yu Ri will explain more about the incident.

Hey, why is she avoiding you?

She's probably one of his fans.

You are so popular. Gosh.

Si Wan, have you seen this?

Isn't this the detective who tried to kill you last time?

It seems like she hasn't been caught yet.

What are the police doing?

How can they let this crazy woman be?

Hey, aren't you afraid?

Afraid? Why would I be afraid of her?

(Fugitive Jo Soo Ji Tries to Take Someone Hostage Again)

I'm so sorry.

I know you told me to keep it quiet.

But she made a scene in the middle of the road.

Why are you here?

I mean...

If you give me more time...

What can you do if I do?

Well...

That is...

You made a false charge without investigating properly.

And you can't catch a fugitive who ran away one year ago.

What can you do now?

I'm sorry.

I told you before.

Don't stand in my way.

Bring all the reporters here.

(Emergency Medical Center)

- My baby. - Mom.

Oh, my.

Se Bom, are you all right?

- Are you hurt anywhere? - No.

I'm so sorry.

You're all right now. You're all right.

Prosecutor Kim.

I'll tell you everything.

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry, Se Bom.

If I told them before, this wouldn't have happened.

It's all right, Se Bom.

I'll receive the punishment for what I have done.

All right.

I'll do my best to find out the truth.

Hello?

Who escaped?

Well done.

Kim Woo Sung ran away again.

I can't track him with the CCTV since he ran away into an alley.

What should we do now?

If this is how it ends, this mission is a failure.

Don't worry.

I'll get him.

- How will you catch him? - I will catch him my way.

I won't follow the leader who told us to watch and do nothing...

while someone's life was in danger.

Is making everything into a mess what your way is like?

Hey, she didn't do this on purpose.

And we saved two people thanks to her. Leave her alone.

Who will take the responsibility if the leader stops contacting us?

I will.

So help me and search for people near Woo Sung.

First, check the CCTV near his mom's house.

She covered up for him after his first murder.

He'll think of her first.

One might think I'm working for you.

I'm the adult here.

I'm older than you.

Don't lie to me and just find out where he is.

That's not the problem. You should look at this first.

I apologize...

for making the citizens feel anxious and scared...

because of one person.

We, the prosecutors, will not close our eyes on...

crimes like this that violate the Korean law.

We will establish a joint operation of the police and the prosecution.

And we'll make sure that we arrest the fugitive Jo Soo Ji...

by conducting an investigation that is fast and fair.

All the news reports are talking about you.

Yoon Seung Ro is making sure of that.

That's why I told you not to act out.

We didn't keep you hidden so that you could make such a big fuss!

Excuse me. I found Woo Sung's mom's house.

Do you want the address?

Yes, Chief. Of course I'm...

not okay. No.

I shouldn't be. I didn't even catch her.

Yes, I'll be on my way.

Gosh. What is wrong with him?

You look busy.

Who is this?

Are you here for me?

- Yes. - Really?

Did you miss me?

You're making my heart flutter.

You are really shameless.

- Me? - You let Woo Sung go,

and yet you still pretend to be a prosecutor.

You let him go,

and Seung Ro...

holds a press conference to make people focus on Detective Jo.

That's how you two are working together.

You won't believe me,

but I...

really want to arrest Woo Sung.

Don't lie.

All right. You're right.

The chief prosecutor let him go.

He must have done it himself because he couldn't...

trust neither Prosecutor Oh nor me.

Prosecutor Oh was probably hurt because of that.

He screamed so hard at me.

I nearly went deaf.

For some reason, you're telling the truth.

Well...

Even if you know about this, you can't do anything about it.

Do you think he'd have left any traces that can prove what I said?

Even if he did,

do you think anyone in the prosecution would go against...

the future attorney general except for you?

Then I can do this by myself.

Kim Woo Sung's sister spilled it all.

First, I'll get him detained.

Then I'll find out one by one about why he was released a year ago...

when he turned himself in...

and who let him go.

It'll be of no use,

but I'm sure you won't give up this time either.

Of course, I won't.

Good luck, then.

Ms. Lee. The chief prosecutor is the one behind Woo Sung.

Are you sure?

Yes. And that's probably why Detective Jo was after him.

So you must arrest Woo Sung first.

It looks like someone has taken Woo Sung elsewhere.

Yoon Seung Ro had another dog.

I'd like to arrest him, but we're ordered to arrest Soo Ji first.

But you have to arrest Woo Sung first.

Don't you think I know that?

We're all very busy here with all the reports from people.

- Hello? Sangam-dong? - Yes.

- What did you say? - You can write it on our website.

Stop making prank calls.

(You have a new message.)

(115-1 Gokban-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul)

There's not even a stray dog on the streets.

Are there no police officers?

Don't you think it's a trap?

I doubt it.

Seung Ro is covering up for Woo Sung's case to get me.

That's why all of the personnel for the search are pointed only at me.

But still, don't you think it's a good idea to wait a while?

Until we're sure.

That's why you shouldn't have stood out.

Wait. Woo Sung's mom just came out of the house.

Don't lose her. She's probably on her way to meet her son.

Speak for yourself.

The entire city is after you. How can you follow after them?

I've got you and Kyung Soo.

If you don't want me to get caught, you two have to help me.

I'd rather let you get arrested,

but I won't do that because you might tell on us.

Make sure you get Woo Sung.

You're the only one who can get him now.

If you don't, his wife and daughter will have to live in fear...

until he gets caught. Forever.

You talk too much.

Keep your eyes on them so that I can catch him.

Kyung Soo is here. Goodbye for now.

Soo Ji.

Take this.

You can't blow this one off like you did with the motorcycle.

It's a used car,

but do you know how many affairs I have to catch to buy this car?

Kyung Soo.

Are you all right?

Soo Ji, shouldn't you go see a doctor?

Stop making a fuss and go.

Wait.

I brought this just in case. You're always getting hurt.

Thanks.

It's nothing.

Don't get hurt this time and return safely, okay?

Woo Sung. Woo Sung.

Mom.

What have you done this time?

Things happened.

- Is this house safe? - Yes.

The landlord said he'll be away until the construction ends.

It'll be fine until the construction begins.

Like you said, I brought cash and some clothes.

And I brought other things you can monetize.

Thanks.

Mom, you are the only one I can trust now.

Have you been eating well?

Wait here.

I'll get something for you to eat.

Why are you following me around?

What's your intention?

You.

To catch you.

How can you catch me?

You're no longer a cop.

You're a wanted criminal.

I'm not someone you can catch.

A prosecutor who's very high up has my back.

When I was detained,

someone left a note under my bowl of soup.

It said if I recanted,

the prosecutors would cover it up.

So do you think you can touch me?

Even if I were to kill you,

I won't get put away.

Shall we find out?

Woo Sung!

What are you doing?

Mom, she has to die.

Or I'll go to prison.

Help me.

You helped me before.

Don't just stand there!

Woo Sung!

Mom.

Woo Sung! Woo Sung!

Step away from my son.

Because of your lies,

an innocent man is doing time.

That is not my fault.

Your son's wife and daughter almost died today...

by your son's hand.

That's nonsense.

My son wouldn't do such a cruel thing.

Can you say that after what you just saw?

To cover up a 13-year-old case...

and to stay out of prison, he tried to kill his wife and child.

That's who your son is!

Come on.

Woo Sung.

(Current location)

Will you stop calling?

Hello?

No, we don't sell fried chicken.

- Hello? - Ms. Lee.

Have you forgotten my voice already?

You punk.

How dare you try to scam me?

If you're a cop, I'm the Attorney General.

Stay on the line. I'm coming after you.

How dare you call me? Hey.

I'm a detective out to get you and...

Hey.

How could you...

become a criminal?

You and your famous waterworks.

I can't let you catch me yet.

Not yet.

I have something to do.

What are you up to?

Kim Woo Sung.

Arrest him.

Are you really...

going after him right now? Are you?

To prove that Yoon Seung Ro cut him loose?

Yoon Seung Ro?

Was it him?

That's what Prosecutor Kim said.

Seung Ro let Woo Sung go...

to cover up what his son did.

Isn't that why you're after him?

Send him back to where he should be.

Soo Ji.

You're right.

I'll have Woo Sung arrested...

and reveal what Seung Ro really did.

I'll text you an address. Woo Sung will be there.

You'll arrest him this time, won't you?

If you do,

you'll clash with your superiors again.

You managed to survive this long.

I'm sorry to put you on the spot.

Don't you worry.

I'm an expert at...

switching sides and making friends.

I'll get Woo Sung without ruffling any feathers.

Thank you, Ms. Lee.

Are you...

Are you hurt?

Do you eat?

Do you get any sleep?

Yes.

Yu Na's not here anymore,

but I feel hungry and sleepy at set times.

I eat...

and sleep well.

Good.

Hang in there.

I will keep coming after you,

so until then,

don't let anyone else catch you.

They took Woo Sung away.

I just finished setting things up as you asked.

Good, then...

shall we watch it go down?

Is the investigation going well?

How do you feel now?

Is there a problem within your organization?

The public have their doubts.

- Any comments? - What happened?

- Are you investigating? - Can you explain?

We'd like a comment.

Are you still looking for Jo Soo Ji?

When will you start to coordinate with the police?

How will you calm the fearful public?

Will this ruin your chance of becoming the attorney general?

The prosecutors and police are doing their best.

We will catch the fugitive Jo Soo Ji...

- What's this? - Is that all of us?

(Yoon Seung Ro recording)

What's this?

- A prosecutor who's very high up... - What's this?

Look up there.

When I was detained,

someone left a note under my bowl of soup.

(Kim Woo Sung)

It said if I recanted,

the prosecutors would cover it up.

- A prosecutor who's very high up... - A prosecutor?

When I was detained...

This is a scoop.

Someone left a note under my bowl of soup.

It said if I recanted,

the prosecutors would cover it up.

Soo Ji.

How's the broadcast?

Great. It's getting quite a response.

Well done, everyone.

Are you going to take the fight to his front yard?

We have to.

I owe this to the leader.

We went after Woo Sung, and he led us to Seung Ro.

Do you think...

he knew all that, and that's why he got you involved?

Our leader might know everything,

but he's not a deity.

There's a way to know without being a deity.

What's that?

It's possible if he's close enough to Seung Ro...

to know his deepest secrets.

Our leader is a prosecutor?

That's impossible.

Maybe.

I'm not sure, but I'm curious.

What is he?

What is he up to?

(Samil Supermarket Killer Arrested)

I told you so.

My grandson...

would not kill a person.

My grandson...

committed no crime.

He committed...

A prosecutor who's very high up has my back.

When I was detained,

someone left a note under my bowl of soup.

What's this? How did this happen?

We're still looking but the hacker's really good.

They can barely find him, let alone catch him.

What should I do? I'm in real trouble.

It looks bad.

Which tie should you pick at a time like this? It's a tough choice.

Black to signify that you know you messed up?

Pink to imply that you want him to let you off?

Do you think the tie's the problem? Seung Ro might...

Forget the tie. He could kill me.

Then you need to use your final card.

What's that?

You know, the things you collected over the years...

while working for the attorney general candidate.

That will kill the both of us.

You're teetering on a cliff. Forget about what could happen.

You need to get out of this alive.

Only then can you save me with you.

This is insane.

You need to give him a veiled but definite hint that...

you also have a hidden blade you can use against him.

Right?

That's the only way to survive, right?

Yes. So which tie will you wear?

Black?

I'm not going to a funeral.

You made a great choice.

Good.

Good luck, sir.

Oh dear.

You scumbag who put an innocent man away...

and only cares about saving his own skin.

Flail all you want.

The harder you flail,

the more you'll sink.

You are out.

(The Guardian)

I owe our leader.

What is he?

Don't make an enemy of me.

Sorry. I won't go out alone.

I would love it if you would put me to work.

I'm in charge of the Jo Soo Ji case. Call if you want in.

She isn't a psycho. She's a mom who lost a child.

Stop what you're doing. I think we got found out.
