oh

ah

father daughter time

yes

you shouldn't head down that way it's

can you believe this harvey

harley

hang on harvey we'll get you out of

don't worry harvey we'll get you to the

clinic so my mom can check you out

come on lassie

yes yeah i understand roger

hey boss we just had a call come through

don't look at me i'm spending the

afternoon with my daughter zoe and i

have been planning it for weeks but

there's a report of a snowboarder

heading out of bounds on the northern

and with the snow melting like this

you need someone to fly up there with

you and check on them sorry to ruin your

day boss but everyone else is tied up

nothing's broken but it's a bad sprain

be careful putting any weight on that

foot for the next week

your highness

you should go ahead and catch up with

you've been looking forward to this day

and don't worry about me i'll be

cruising around on these things in no

time

take care harvey

poor zoe she's going to be so

disappointed dad wait for me zoey

sorry i'm like dad but i'm better late

than never right i'm the one who's sorry

zoe you know how badly i wanted to spend

the day with you but we just got a

report of a snowball being off trail

along the northern ridge with really bad

taste in music that's right how did you

know she forced us off the mountain

about an hour ago harvey sprained his

ankle but i think he's going to be okay

sorry zoe i have to go after her i won't

be long dad wait take me up with you you

know i can't this is official park but i

can help you find her i know what she

looks like and what she's wearing i can

even show you exactly where she crossed

come on please this is some quality

father-daughter time we're talking about

here

you and lassie hop into the back yes

okay we can go now now we just have to

explain this to your mom

sarah are you there

sarah can you hear me

darling are you there

yes graham what's the matter just wanted

to let you know that zoe and lassie are

with me on a rescue operation we're

going to find a snowboarder up on the

north ridge but you were supposed to

take time off to spend with her i know i

know but it's an emergency

and at least we're together

all right

take care

just when i thought she couldn't get any

i've gotta go tell the others

the last report placed a snowboarder

right around here just under pike's peak

when we saw her she was further east it

looked like she was crossing over to the

ridgeline into the mesa

okay here we go

right here this is the exact spot where

we saw the woman leaving the trail and

crossing the out of bounds markers right

lassie

so

friends colleagues fellow animal

residents of the park we should follow

lassie's heroic example and pitch in to

yeah probably since he saw lassie doing

it and feels he needs to worship the

ground she walks on that's true but if

lassie can help out with official park

ranger business give me one good reason

uh because we don't want to

also we're kind of lazy and pretty

reckless and very irresponsible yeah

instead maybe you should give us one

good reason why we should help the

because it's the only thing i can think

of that might impress lassie and win her

heart and because you're all my friends

i'm counting on you to help me do it

well when you put it that way how can we

possibly say no yeah that's so pathetic

it's almost heartwarming the romantic

stuff gets me every time of course we'll

help if you can count on us long live

the barn rangers

but where are we going to find somebody

to rescue i know where at the clinic

circle back around the main trail to

that spot see if we can pick up our

tracks there

whoa

with this sudden thaw none of these snow

caps are going to be stable for long we

you're right lassie right down there

there it is see where she crossed the

might be able to pick up her tracks on

the other side

ah

right here follow those tracks should

lead us right to her hey boss it's a

good thing you brought your daughter

zoe i'd say you have the makings of a

pretty good ranger yourself

but i mean it boss she's a chip off the

old block she's got a lot of growing up

to do first but when she does it

wouldn't surprise me if we're both

calling her boss someday

look there she is

that's definitely her same jacket and

everything

she's crazy

bring us out circle in front of her and

cut her off

can't she hear the chopper it's like you

that ice looks pretty weak down there

boss the vibration from these rotors

might shake this entire snow cap loose

if we go in any closer you're right sit

back and let me see if i can get our

attention ah the same thing happened

when i tried to warn her earlier she was

blasting loud music through her

i guess we should be grateful she's not

wearing blindfolds too what now boss

we could land above her at pike's peak

down and cut her off here before she

reaches the edge of the house you mean

we well you know lassie you and me

maybe we should start calling her boss

zoe there's no way i'm letting you get

anywhere near that ice i'm gonna have to

no but zoey drop me off and then take

zoey and lassie back down to the station

oh well so much for quality

father-daughter time

don't worry beth it's nothing he'll be

here i'll get you that special ointment

wait here harvey we won't be long

what's wrong

well did you guys see that

first ranger rescue well

i suppose you saved him from maybe

bruising his butt i stopped him from

falling that's what rangers do right

they help protect people you could

specialize in protecting their butts

let's face it biff if you want to

impress lassie we're gonna have to try

for something a little more you know

impressive exactly something big

something spectacular something

do you guys really think i have what it

not even close that's why you have us

around to help you

you're not gonna be able to set it down

not with the wind cheers coming over the

peak that's okay just take me down as

dad wait it's too dangerous

you don't have to do this but somebody

does zoe it's my job my responsibility

you understand that don't you

close the door zoe time to be getting

you home

joey

what but i

thought when he hears about this you and

me both

check it out do you see what i see a

loud and dangerous vehicle without

seatbelt snow a chance for glory a

ticket to adventure your shot of

becoming a genuine park ranger and

proving yourself to lassie

houdini

this seems like it might be a very bad

probably but when has that ever stopped

us

sit tight

what's the point in doing that we're

already here we might as well see if we

what do you say lassie are you with me

okay let's go

dad i can explain i'm sure you can with

a good reason i hope when you jump from

the helicopter i saw you

okay

save the explanations for later rescue

operation first

we can't ski down this we'll have to

you better believe it i'm not letting

you out of my sight follow me

uh dad

take this

it's a present i got for you to

celebrate our father-daughter day

together a present

thanks zoe

i'll wait and open it later

i love you dad i love you too

hey guys how do you make this

you should have stayed up at the refuge

zoe this is way too dangerous i know dad

i'm sorry but once lassie and i were out

of the helicopter i just couldn't stand

the thought of leaving you alone out

here i can handle myself so can i dad

even the pilot warned you that you'll be

that'll be the day you have a lot of

responsibility to learn and a lot of

growing up to do young lady

that was too close

it's not just luck it's lassie

hurry up

not too tired i'll be

what is it

you hear something

lassie flossy wait it may not look like

it but this is the most dangerous place

in the park at this time of the year

shifting ice hidden crevasses

look there she is

what are you doing here buddy

that song is crazy

stop stay where you are uh am i in some

kind of trouble

i am so definitely in trouble

stay there

dad i'm coming

dad

sorry are you okay i'm fine

this entire ice cap could give way zoe

you need to get the snowboarder and let

lassie lead you out but what about you

you need to help her zoe i'm getting you

out of there first dad no joey other

people come first that's what being a

ranger means

don't worry ma'am you're in good hands

you think i'll ever become a ranger like

lassie that's my friend i think that was

as close as you're ever gonna get

jump i'll help you

guide me no no i can't jump

the edge could collapse it's too high oh

are you joking with all you've done on

your snowboard you can't do a little

jump i'm sorry i can't

help

you're right lassie we need a bridge go

fetch the other one girl hurry throw a

snowboard to me

i'm sorry i didn't mean for any of this

to happen i just wanted to have some fun

yeah great and how's that working out

come towards me

slowly no it's too hard i can't

put your foot on that bridge now my

father is in danger because of you so

move

oh thank you oh

i don't see him go back follow our

tracks in the snow get help there

whatever you say you can count on me

lassie

hang on i'm coming

dad

goodness you're safe

i sent the snowboarder back for help

hurry up

it's an opening

my arm oh

be careful with that lassie

they must be under it

yes

that was some father-daughter quality

time you should have seen zoey and

lassie out there i don't know what i

would have done without them it was

definitely a little more than we

our little ranger not yet i've got a lot

and a lot of growing up to do first you

did good

night mom night dad

come on lassie time for bed
