poor thing i'm afraid i have to shut

down my mountain lion rescue i just

don't have the money to keep it going

but what will happen to the animals the

ones who can make it in the wild will be

released but most of them i just don't

know that's too bad

to him harvey and i have to get her

stuff together for the race

okay

samantha

you know this is an outdoor race

outdoors i know there's a 10000 prize

do you even know how to use a compass no

but i know how to find a partner who can

meet max lofgren

so this is the daughter of the ranger

and her amazing dog nice to meet you max

was last year's european orienteering

champion

hey zoey

hey harvey

we're on different teams remember

we're supposed to be competing meet my

teammate emma so this is the famous zoey

nice to meet you emma goes with me to

the ski academy oh okay

zoey's got a crush on drew

ow yourself

these kids really know what they're

doing you didn't say we'd be running

against the ranger's daughter and some

compass reading champion don't worry

you'll win attention everyone if our

four teams and their coaches would come

over here we can grab a sandwich and get

come on everybody

hold on a second listen when i said you

were gonna win i meant it check this out

is that a global positioning system yeah

exactly where you are and show you where

you're going without any map or compass

until the race starts i'm gonna hold on

to it i'll sneak it to you later no way

we could lose with that

let's go

you want me to stay here

just stay here and close your eyes and

we'll come back with a birthday surprise

but if i close my eyes i might fall

then leave them open uh won't that ruin

the surprise

hey

what are you looking for

what's that

there now stay right there

okay

welcome to the 30th annual grand

mountain wilderness challenge the first

leg of the course is using a compass and

a map to navigate to the park do it well

and you'll have an advantage heading

second leg of the course is a test of

outdoor skills you might end up climbing

canoeing hiking a marked trail or

blazing your own and don't worry race

officials will always be nearby so

nobody's gonna get lost and if you had

my map with all the destinations marked

out you wouldn't get lost at all

okay it looks like someone was hiding a

gps but thanks to lassie i've got them

now which brings me to the last point as

much as you all want to win the ten

thousand dollar prize the ground

mountain wilderness challenge isn't

it's about keeping a tradition of skill

this isn't about cheating to win it's

about doing your best i'll see you at

that girl's dog stole our gps she must

have been watching us that dog's gonna

keep us from winning yeah i was worried

about her war dish is a real hero

that dog wants to be a hero maybe i'll

find a defenseless little animal for her

to save

oh

i don't believe it

how long do we stand here as long as it

takes a hamster to push a cake off a

table

once we've checked your equipment we'll

issue each of you a team number and an

inside will be your course map the only

marked location will be your first flag

you'll have to use your compasses to get

checkpoint is on the back of your flag

so you can't go anywhere until you find

it ranger parker will be waiting at

checkpoint number one he'll give you the

location of checkpoint number two which

is where rocky and i are gonna be so i

drew and emma from the green mountain

your team number one let's see your gear

man we forgot an emergency blanket do

sure anything you guys need you don't

have some batteries do you actually we

do

oh

let's go come

on oh my gosh i have enough water here

you can get ready

hmm

thank you what are you doing here i

don't know some guy just grabbed me

okay

you guys have all your stuff uh i hope

so you packed it

huh

what's wrong i don't know where lassie

is she should be here have you called

her

is lassie missing yeah and i'm worried

then let's go find her you sure what

about the race it's lassie i don't know

about you guys but she saved my life

we'll hold the race till you get back no

you won't the rules say the race starts

in an hour and that's when the race

starts you can't hold the race just

because your daughter lost her dog

you kids have got an hour

don't worry that's plenty of time

they're putting stuff away where's

houdini who knows

we gotta do something

um

zoey i've got something

let harvey have a look

this is lassie all right where'd she go

the maintenance yard

what is it what now

we've gotta find a way to stop this

truck

why are you stopping lassie's tracks

just disappear she came in there ran to

here and poof she jumped and never came

down dude she jumped into something yeah

she did look these are tire tracks a lot

a car connected to some kind of trailer

somebody kidnapped lassie

by the looks of the tire tracks it was

just minutes ago headed for town you're

yeah we've still got more than half an

hour

i don't think you guys should risk it

you've come miles to be in this race i

don't want you missing it besides harvey

and i have to go get our bikes zoe oh

it's okay there's nothing you can do

we'll see you at the starting line

promise

see you

no harvey what about rocky we have to

win the racer kim will have to close the

rescue center then we better get going

let's catch that truck find lassie and

get back in time to win the race for

your aunt kim okay let's go

hmm

mrs parker mrs parker

where are zoe and harvey it looks like

someone grabbed lassie they're going

after them

they'll never catch up to the coach

they're as good as out of this race

i wonder what he's got planned for the

rest of the teams who cares let's just

wait and see

i don't think that's a good idea you

know come to think of it it's pretty

nice in here

relax see that horseshoe if i can get it

under the wheel it might give him a flat

tire yeah

here try again

what was that

great

oh

we're never gonna catch them

i think we already did

well guess what i got a hard hat in the

truck

ah

what you gonna do now smarty pants

uh

oh great

guys

wait up

wow

yeah we can follow me

look out

close

come on let's get going we've still got

your kid isn't gonna make it let's just

start

hey this is

hey

you got me cake

oh who told you

nobody told me i'm a dog i can smell

it can we steal your surprise

yeah

surprise

could someone take the bag off my head

where's houdini

i'm so glad to be home

hey

you've got your cake

okay

each of you has an envelope inside are

map coordinates to the location of your

first challenge so i guess your first

challenge will be reading the map and

for that you'll need your compass

so where do we line up

they made it fantastic

right over there nice try

at the sound of the whistle you may open

your envelopes and begin the 30th annual

wilderness challenge

ready

for rocky

i will find the

and
