And there is Tonday Mawwaka,

The legendary "proud lion."

He's a two-time Olympic champion

and he's come all the way
from his homeland of Nigeria

to run in today's event,

which he's referred to
as his final lap.

Tonday's threatened
to retire before,

but if this does turn out
to be his valedictory race,

it'll be quite a day to remember.

continued on.

a single checkpoint.

A change of clothes
hidden in the bushes.

he reentered the race

was mass confusion.

to rejoin the race.
