[Camryn] I used to sign my headshots,

"If you ever need a good lawyer,

-give me a call." -[laughter]

[Jonathan] And then only 22 years old,

Camryn's son, Milo

is following in mom's footsteps

with the hit musical franchise, Zombies.

I used to have her help me do self-tapes in my room

when I was auditioning for stuff.

I'd be like, "Mom, you don't know what

-you're talking about, okay?" -[laughter]

[Jonathan] But no star shines brighter

in their lives than Mia,

a close friend of 17 years to Camryn.

She's a single mother, so Mia was always there.

-Hey, Mia. -Mia.

She'd be there for me, whatever that meant.

[laughter]

[Jonathan] Who also became like a second mom to Milo.

Mia is just an angel. She's a bright light.

I love them so much.

[Jonathan] Mia loves her home.

[Camryn] I just feel like the whole kitchen

is so closed in.

[Jonathan] But Camryn and Milo know

it could function so much better for her.

-[grunts, shouts] -[Camryn] Yeah!

[Jonathan] So they're bringing their style chops.

Go slow.

[Jonathan] And putting into equity...

-This flat cabinets... -Wow.

were part of my nightmares,

but they're starting to become part of my dream.

[Jonathan] To deliver an unforgettable surprise.

[Jonathan] For the woman they call...

-[Mia] Oh, my goodness. -[Jonathan] family.

[Mia] It's incredible.

[upbeat music playing]

[Jonathan] I feel like, Camryn,

you have the world's greatest law education...

-[laughs] I know. -from all...

How does that work for you?

You do so many law shows.

Do you... Do you actually walk away with some knowledge?

She definitely thinks she knows

-what she's done about it. -Hold on a second.

I definitely do.

We are so excited to be teaming up today

with Camryn Manheim and her son, Milo.

[Camryn] I know a lot about law.

I used to sign my headshots,

"If you ever need a good lawyer,

And then people would turn around like,

"I do have a question for you."

And then that's the problem

because I actually will give them my advice. [laughs]

And while Camryn is busy shooting

Law & Order in New York, and Milo splits his time

between being a Disney star and going to college,

when these two are together, they seem like best friends.

You guys seem so close and so amazing

'cause I think sometimes, you know, kids

go through the teenage years, and, you know,

there's that tension. Do you guys--

Hey, we went through that for sure.

You know, I always joke like,

"My mom's an Emmy Award winning actress."

I used to have her help me do self-tapes in my room

when I was auditioning for stuff.

She would give me amazing advice.

And I'd be like, "Mom, you don't know what you're talking about, okay?"

-[laughter] -"Trust me.

Like, I know. I'm 13."

[Drew] But there is an unofficial third member

to this family, and that's Mia.

The woman who, for 17 years, helped Camryn,

a working single mom, raised Milo.

[Milo] She's an incredible person.

She was teaching at my pre-school

and was always so involved,

and just full of love and light,

and just cared so much

about all the families that were there.

[Camryn] The Manheims,

we've always been there for her.

When she's trying to fill up paperwork

'cause she was trying to buy this house,

my realtor helped her.

And we flagged things that could've been an issue.

And I met the inspector. I came over.

-I met with the inspector... -Oh, wow.

and asked a lot of questions,

'cause we wanted this to be so perfect for her.

You'll see, her kitchen is extremely

undone and unfinished. But she's so happy.

She loves it so much 'cause I would say to her,

"Hey, Mia. We need to update this a little."

She would never ask for anything.

How much does Mia know? Like, what does she know?

I don't think she knows anything.

-We haven't said anything. -[Drew] But we--

-Yeah, yeah, yeah. -Okay. Good.

She knows we're coming over to say goodbye to her

because tomorrow, she is going home

to take care of her family because her aunt just died.

-So they're helping... -Oh, okay.

to sell the house and get everything ready,

and all of her finances.

And then there's gonna be a funeral.

And so, we asked if we could just, you know, swing by

and say goodbye and give her a hug

'cause she's gonna be gone.

-It's right here. -[Drew] It's cute.

[Jonathan] Any sign of Mia?

-Okay. Let's go, guys. -[indistinct chatter]

I told her that we were coming to visit her.

And I texted her before and asked what she was doing.

She told me she was working in her back room.

-[Camryn] All right. So... -[Milo] [indistinct]

this is what we're gonna do.

I'm gonna knock on the door, if she's not right here,

I'm gonna have you run into the kitchen.

And then I'm gonna get...

She's usually in her back room, at the office, okay?

-Okay. -[Camryn] Come on.

[playful music playing]

-Hey, Mia. We came... -Mia!

We just came by to say hi, honey, before you go.

-Hello. Anyone home? -[Mia] Ms. Camryn?

-[laughter] -[Mia] Oh, my God.

-Milo! -[Milo] Hi, Mia.

I know. I know. There are some...

-What is this? -You look so...

What are those cameras doing here? Like, what's...

Mia, we love you so much.

We know you're going home

to do a very heartfelt thing for your family.

-And we just thought... -Yes.

before you did that,

we would spend a special moment with you.

-Okay. -And that's why we invited our friends...

-A lot of friends? -into your home.

-We invited them into your house. -Oh, wait. We're gonna...

some renovations here.

we love you so, so much

and we know that you just bought this incredible house.

So we enlisted them to help us

redo your kitchen while you're gone.

So you're gonna be doing things for your family,

and we're gonna be doing something for you

to show you how much we love you.

For me, Mia is just an angel. She's a bright light.

-Look at all those cameras here. -[laughter]

We just kind of picked her up and put her in our pocket

because you can tell, like, love and warmth,

and piece of happiness emanate from her.

And everybody wants somebody like that in their lives.

You've done so much for me.

I love you, Milo. [laughs]

I'm so happy to do this.

I call Mia, "Mamma Mia,"

because she really has been

a second mother to me growing up.

I grew up when she was doing The Practice,

and I'm an only child.

She's a single mother.

So Mia was always there to be there for me,

whatever that meant.

I know, Milo. [indistinct]

She watched me grow up.

And you know just as much about me

-as my mom does really. -Yeah.

You know, there's been times when I've been sick,

and everyone has really hectic and crazy lives.

I needed someone to help me.

She would be, "Ms. Camryn, I'm coming."

And I love Ms. Camryn. Like, she...

"Ms. Camryn." You can't stop her.

I lean on her when I am really frustrated.

And she's a great person to talk to.

She always has a beautiful perspective

on the world and on people.

She just gives, gives, gives,

and she's doesn't take anything,

which is why we sometimes

-gotta take the initiative. -[Camryn] I know.

It's unbelievable. This is...

It's incredible. Like, thank you.

-Thank you. -[Milo] Of course.

I love them so much. They...

The moment I know them,

it's like my life turned the other way.

It's incredible.

Our lives changed because of you.

She is an angel on this Earth for sure.

Well, this is what we're gonna do.

We're gonna kick you out for a little bit

because they need to show us the place,

and we have to talk about some things.

Would you guys wanna maybe meet in an hour for lunch?

-[Camryn] Oh, boy. This kitchen... -[Drew] Oh, my God.

To be able to do this while she's gone

and surprise her, and if we would've told her

any of this prior, "No, Ms. Camryn."

-No way. No, no, no. -"No, no. It's okay.

-I love it. It's all good." -[Milo] It's perfect.

So we had to do it this way.

[Drew] It's so small in here.

I don't actually understand how she can function in this.

I don't know how she can function

-with that refrigerator. -[Drew] Yeah.

That still has the plastic coating line.

-[Milo] I know. -[Camryn] I know.

She has dinner parties every Friday night.

Not only she's just cooking for herself and her family,

but, like, you know, probably for 20 people.

She doesn't even have like next to the...

-[Camryn] I know. -range when she's cooking.

She doesn't have somewhere to put stuff down.

And I just feel like the whole kitchen

-is so closed in. -[Drew] Yeah.

My dream would be to get rid of this.

-This wall. -And open it up,

so when you walk in the front door,

-you see this beautiful massive... -[Drew] Yeah.

It's a nice space, just really poorly designed.

Mia lives with her boyfriend, Ramon.

And I think having a peninsula with just a couple stools,

so they could talk to each other in the morning

when they're cooking would be great.

But I really think Mia needs a dining room table

for the people she cooks for.

I just want places for her to sit,

and enjoy her friends and her family.

And, you know, eat her beautiful food.

Something I saw about this washer-dryer situation

actually is there's just a tube

that runs through the wall outside,

where all the soapy water goes just in a puddle.

-Wait. So what's going on? -[Milo] I gotta show you this.

It's pretty insane.

Go outside. Look at this, like, pipe thing

that just comes out of the wall,

-and just... I know. -[Drew] Wait.

-[Milo] From the washer... -[Jonathan] That's the soapy water.

-Oh, my gosh. Look at this. -That's the soapy water.

[Milo] And it just makes a puddle right here.

-That is ridiculous. -I know.

We're gonna have to do something about that.

Not to code.

It looks like this back area

where the laundry is was a porch

that was closed in, and not closed in very well.

Can we do something with this room

to make it more functional?

-Like, maybe some cabinets? -[Jonathan] Absolutely.

-Maybe these, like... -[Drew] Exactly.

[Camryn] move out into the door.

-The tile is... -[Jonathan] It's blocking the window.

I feel like if we could pull this off

and transform the kitchen's face,

it will open so many doors for Mia.

It just feels kinda like dark and dingy.

Let's get natural light pouring through here.

Let's open up the sidelines.

Let's make this a statement kitchen.

We'll kick this one off with a kitchen

to dining room open concept

and lose the ineffective archway,

to give Mia the sidelines she's always wanted.

New engineered hardwood floors

will require less maintenance for Mia

than traditional hardwood.

I'll improve the function and flow in the kitchen

by losing both tiny fridges,

and instead add one large fridge.

That gives us room to add a new range

and statement hood, flanked by cabinets,

topped with marble countertops and backsplash

that'll keep the space light and bright.

Shelving in front of the window

will provide additional storage

while still letting the light through.

The sink and dishwasher

will live under the opposite window

to give Mia the creature comforts

that will allow her more time with family

and less time cleaning.

A new peninsula flexes as additional prep space

and a casual dining spot,

while a more formal dining table

gives Mia the perfect place to gather with friends

and family for a good meal.

Finally, we'll make much better use

of that laundry room space

by adding a stacked washer-dryer

and a stylish tile floor.

While a new window and pocket door

will let the light flow through,

but not the sounds of the new appliances.

It is a lot.

Laundry room, kitchen,

dining area, flooring.

How long is she gone for?

She's gone for three and a half weeks.

Three weeks, yeah. Three and a half.

Mia has a lot of weight on her shoulders right now,

supporting the family back in Mexico.

I wanna take all that pressure off.

I want it to be so when she comes home,

everything is done and everything is beautiful.

-Oh, my God. It's so big. -Oh, you take this.

Here, Milo. This is for you.

The reason that this surprise is so special is because...

The demo has already started.

[Milo] Mia never expects anything.

She never asks for anything.

When she sees the new kitchen, her mind is gonna be blown.

[upbeat music playing]

[grunts] Hell, yeah!

-Let's get to it! -[Camryn] Oh, yeah!

[Milo] Oh! Oh! Oh!

-Finish it off, Milo! -[Milo] Okay.

Every time I turn around, Milo is going...

[shouts]

-[shouts] -[Camryn] Yeah!

Maybe we're gonna unleash something

we can't put back away.

[machinery whirring]

-What do we have here? -It's a split pocket door.

Oh! So there's a door right here?

[Camryn] It's a mom's prerogative.

-Every day of my life. -All right.

I know that I am totally annoying

and a super proud mom, but to be honest, Milo,

I'm just so proud of you.

I feel so grateful that I have a son

who would do something like this with me

that we could give it to Mia and do it together.

[pounding]

What are you doing? [laughs]

-Get it in. Get it in. -[laughs]

[Camryn] You have no idea how wonderful it is

to take down a wall that you hate.

[Jonathan] She's a machine.

We have laundry...

-[machinery whirring] -[Camryn] Oh, yes!

Here we go.

kitchen, there's plumbing.

There's a lot of work that we have to try and do

in three and a half weeks.

[upbeat music playing]

[Jonathan] With so little time to get so much done,

we need to make the most out of every single day.

So we have added weekends into our build schedule

that'll allow to finish up the demo,

get the rough-in plumbing done,

and with proper drainage

under Mia's laundry room.

[machinery whirring]

[Drew] Today, framing is underway

and we are installing a 10-foot beam

that allows us to open up the kitchen

to the living room.

[Jonathan] And I'm with Camryn and Milo.

Between the two of you, who would you say

is more opinionated

to talk about finishes that Mia will love?

Get ready to experience what I experience every day.

-[Jonathan] Okay. -Which is her telling me

-exactly how it's gonna go down. -[Jonathan] All right.

I have very, like, distinct,

detail-oriented mind for finishes.

So I do have opinions.

Mia has, you know,

seen a couple of remodels I've done.

I did a remodel of my kitchen.

Well, where do you guys wanna start?

Do you wanna start cabinets, flooring?

And she's like, "You know, you have wonderful taste."

-[Jonathan] Okay. -I think cabinets first...

-Cabinets and flooring. -because I believe

they will tell the story of everything else.

We don't have to go matchy-matchy,

so my thought was that maybe we looked to do something

where we break up our uppers and lowers

and do two different colors.

All right. I'm getting nervous already.

-I trust you. I trust you. -I think, you know,

in a small house, you wanna keep things light,

but I understand you have a lot more experience than I do,

but oh, boy.

I like this one

-for the major cabinets... -[Jonathan] Yeah.

[Camryn] because it looks like it has real grain.

It's got, you know, it's got some texture to it

-and I really like that. -[Jonathan] Yeah.

This is a thermofoil, so it's like indestructible.

-Like it's really, really easy to clean... -[Milo] Cool.

[Jonathan] but it has that beauty.

-It's like a combination... -I like it.

between modern and, you know, transitional.

-[Milo] I love it. -[Jonathan] Yeah, this is the perfect tone.

Now, this is where I feel like

there might be some pushback.

-Talk to us. -Well, because I originally thought

maybe it should be white and then, you know,

just to keep everything nice and airy

but then the earth tones feel like Mia

-because she's so earthy... -Yeah.

and salt of the earth.

-So I love that... -Yeah.

and then I saw this come out

-and I'm like, what... -Don't judge...

are you talking about? What...

-[Milo] Go get scanned. -[Jonathan] Don't judge yet.

We could do all-wood cabinets

but I feel like it would be nice

but it would feel basic.

I was thinking, if we did the shaker door

but blow out the middle so it's not too much black,

do glass in there, have it illuminated,

-have it look beautiful. -[Milo] I like that.

-I see good. -The upper...

-It's only two cabinets... -Okay.

on either side of the window

where the sink is

and then you could all of a sudden have this striking.

Making a statement on that sink wall

would be so incredible

but what would also work with that if we could...

-Oh. But I see... I can... -do a statement with a stone.

I can... I already see, like, your lips are going up,

like you have something in store for me.

I'm thinking a light, wonderful, Carrara,

like that's beautiful. I love that.

-[Jonathan] Right? -[Camryn] That's what I'm picking.

-[Milo] I love it. I love it. -[Jonathan] I agree.

-I think we should have this. -[Milo] Of course.

-[Jonathan] How gorgeous is that? -[Camryn] That looks nice.

And imagine it

On the primer we could do this

[Jonathan] Everything would be beautiful.

-It's awesome. -But then let's talk

about that kitchen wall.

Oh, you are so cheeky.

Which wall are you talking about?

-So, the sink. -Let's get clear. Okay.

Where we're going with these two dark cabinets.

-Okay. -What if we create

something of interest there...

-Oh. -by contrasting

with this gorgeous natural stone...

-[Camryn] Okay. -and then we can even do

something where we take it right off the back wall

and make a statement...

I gotta really think about this.

I mean, 'cause basically

-we're talking about a very... -[Milo] Into the sink, yes.

small kitchen and now you're talking about

bringing up a dark slate backsplash

onto the wall, introducing a third...

Fourth color really.

I was, mmm, wasn't sure about it.

It's going to be striking.

But he really felt so,

-you know, strongly about it. -Strongly about it.

-We gotta, Mom. We gotta. -Okay.

-[Jonathan] All right. -I think we should do something bold.

The next big decision,

which is the largest surface area,

would be the flooring.

We talked about transitioning to a tile

in the laundry area.

Do you wanna do something

that's a little bit more bold?

Sometimes people make a laundry room

-feel like an afterthought... -Mmm.

but sometimes this is a little too bold.

I mean, no offense,

but I'm not a fan of either of these.

-[laughter] -All right.

I don't have any feelings to be hurt. It's totally fine.

I just think this is, uh, it's a little busy.

Yeah, I would just like to do something a little bit

more natural, not too busy, not too fuzzy.

-Mia is not that way. -Okay.

She's just salt of the earth.

Why don't we do this? I will pull together

a whole bunch of samples of natural stones.

I'm a little nervous about...

-[Milo] I understand. -how much darkness

-there's gonna be... -Mia is a light person.

-in a tiny kitchen. -I get that.

But I do recognize your expertise.

I wanna trust you. That's where I am right now.

-When do we have to make those decisions? -Will it help

if we do a trust fall right now?

It's really in his hands now to get this right.

[Jonathan] Week two is off to a great start.

As the drywall goes up, you can really see

how much more room Mia's gonna have

to entertain family and friends.

Next, the flooring team is tagging in.

Camryn wants light and bright and sophisticated for Mia

and these engineered floors, they checked all the boxes,

plus they're scratch and stain resistant.

With that finish, the cabinet team is in the kitchen

installing the base units and the new peninsula.

Instead of doing everything

the same color in this kitchen,

we're installing dark cabinets and dark stone

over on the side and that's just gonna add

a little bit more dimension

to make this kitchen more dynamic.

[upbeat music playing]

[Milo] Okay. It's coming together.

It's coming together.

I love the family that works together...

-I know, for real. -sticks together.

-Here we go. -All right.

-These black cabinets... -Wow.

were part of my nightmares

but they're starting to become part of my dream.

-Yeah. -Sometimes you just have

to see it all come together before you realize...

I love how matte they are. They're gorgeous.

This is exactly set

to the bottom height of the cabinet.

So we're gonna lift these up now.

-You might wanna put your glasses on... -Okay.

we're gonna start to do some install here.

-All right. -So, what do you need?

-She'll do these. -Cool.

You and I are gonna lift.

So grab the cabinet and you're gonna lift it.

Cabinet work is not easy.

It's meticulous.

You have to make sure everything's lined up.

[machinery whirring]

But Camryn and Milo are right in there.

-You look all pro. -That is good reach.

-I feel a little pro. -[Drew] All right.

Can I have that drill back for one second?

I have questions for you all.

Because you know Mia more than I know Mia.

-Yes. -And I want to figure out

some laundry room flooring options.

-Okay. -So before I say anything else...

-Uh-huh. -what do you gravitate towards

for a style that you think she'll like?

Well, what did you think about those tiles?

I was hoping you wouldn't ask me this question

because I don't know at all.

I think, like, a combo

of these would be really nice.

-[Drew] Okay. Oh. -I mean, something like that

because the room is so small, maybe we could make these...

-Okay. -a little smaller

-and make these little bigger. -I love that.

So this could be like twice the size.

-Am I crazy? Or would that work? -No, you're good.

I can't wait till you build your own house

The reason why I've turned into the crazy woman I am.

I will... I would love your help. [laughs]

No, you're crazy for other reasons

but I can definitely use your craziness when making a house.

[Jonathan] If you did the cream...

[Camryn] Designer's cool.

and kind of like a 12 by 12 size...

-[Camryn] Yeah. -you could then just do a sliver.

Cut this one down and do a sliver across them

and then alternate each one.

So you're, kind of, creating a geometric pattern,

which actually goes really well.

It's making me very excited.

-[Jonathan laughs] Yeah. -'Cause I feel like

I'm gonna get to have something to do

with cutting those tiles.

-You can. Oh, absolutely. -Yay.

Have you used a wet saw before?

No, but I'm game.

-I'm concerned for my mom's safety. -Yeah.

[Milo] But it's... As long as everything is good to go...

-I got glasses. I got gloves. -All right. She has glasses.

-I got boots. Let's do it! -That's all, like...

[Jonathan] Putting Camryn and Milo to work

is not gonna be an issue.

We have so much left to do this week.

We're finishing up some of the electrical work,

including installation of the exhaust fan

over the range.

And today, it's all about countertops.

I'm relieved that Camryn likes the darker cabinets

because if she didn't,

well, she probably wouldn't be a fan

of the black marble slab we chose for the sink wall.

[Drew] Yeah, but it's gorgeous

and it'll contrast so wonderfully

with the white Carrara marble

that we have everywhere else.

[Jonathan] Speaking of white Carrara,

Milo and I are out back grinding the stone

just to make sure it's a perfect fit.

-Here we go. -Gentle. [indistinct] up.

While Camryn and I are installing the gorgeous

dark slab backsplash below the kitchen window.

-Do we just push it? -Stick it.

-Stick it. -Stick it.

-[groans] -[Drew groans] Oh, gosh.

Oh, yeah, does it look great?

Wait. You know what I have to do when I love it.

-Yeah, let me... -I have to.

in this tiny little kitchen, which isn't so tiny anymore,

it couldn't handle it, but it can.

We have brought Camryn over to the dark side, literally.

I promise you, Mia is gonna absolutely love

what these counters look like, what these cabinets look like,

and now she's starting to see it too.

-Looks pretty great. -I'd say so.

I can't wait to get a couple of stools.

I just see Mia just, like,

running the whole house from here.

People will be at the dining...

We have to talk about a dining room table.

How big should we go, Camryn?

Well, I definitely think

you need to have room for six people.

Do you like a rectangular table, round, oval?

I feel like if we did rectangular,

it would be a little problematic,

-kind of getting into... Right? -I agree.

I would say either round or oval would be nicer.

We wanted to really focus

on a special gathering place for Mia.

Everybody, attach your arms, attach hands.

Her happy place is sitting at a table with her family.

-Is this circle or... -Yeah, this is circle.

[Jonathan] That's like a 40-person table though.

-[Drew] Exactly. -If we were doing,

like a 60 inch round, it would be kind of like this.

I feel like we're about to like seance or something.

No, no, let's do oval.

-Let's do oval. -It's a seance.

But you know what I like more? I like this more.

I'm kind of blown away,

not only about how much time these two

have put in to Mia's renovation,

but also how interested they are

in the entire process.

I kind of understand why it's a wet saw

and why there's water.

But what happens if there isn't water?

It heats up too hot and it'll crack the tile.

actually cools it down. You can actually move it

right to the blade to see exactly

where you're lining up.

I'll say this, every time you do something,

I'm just curious to know if it's done often.

But this is a way to add storage in a stylish way.

I mean, you'll see what a high-end homes or...

Like in New York, some high-end lofts

that will do something like this

because they're really limited on space

it makes this a bigger space.

We wanted to make sure that it felt spacious

while at the same time having a lot room

to store stuff, also feeling light and bright.

The one challenge about being in such a tight space...

When we first got to the house, I noticed

that there were three different floor coverings.

something in the kitchen,

and then something different in the laundry room.

And now, the beauty of the flow is just amazing.

Because of the stagger and the fact

So we could tie these shelves in

to anyone of those.

We don't need to make these shelves pop.

I think we let them do what they do

and I think we match this color,

-this smoky creamy color. -And you know what?

It's gonna make it pop in a subtle way.

I made a design choice today.

I chose the color of the floating shelves.

And while it may not seem

like the most important aspect of the house,

it was important to me.

Your mom is...

She's a designer that knows what she likes

and is scared to go outside of her comfort zone.

I feel pretty confident.

You are an edgy designer that likes to take risks.

I'm finding my identity in the kitchen.

It's made me think of Mia so much

and how much I love her.

And when you cook in the kitchen,

it has that kind of creativity.

And with everything we do, I'm reminded of that.

before Mia returns from Mexico,

everyday counts.

At the house, the laundry room cabinets

have arrived and are being assembled.

And in the kitchen, we've started

installing the appliances.

In the end, we did decide to go with panel-ready

for the fridge and dishwasher.

Panel-ready appliances are great options

in small kitchens like Mia's

because they can help create a seamless look

that makes the space feel larger

and less cluttered.

While we finish the panels in site...

A masterpiece.

[Jonathan] Drew is checking in on the progress

of the custom dining table

that Camryn and Milo wanted for Mia.

-Is this the table? -Hey. How is it going?

We just got it dropped off yesterday.

[Drew] David and Zach specialize

in custom woodwork and metal fabrication.

They've been working on the metal base

for the stone top we had cut.

This is gonna be perfect. It's not too big.

It's not too bulky for the space.

You can still easily get around it.

And I need to discuss next steps

for the engraving Camryn and Milo wanna see the top.

You got the lettering.

I don't know if I even told you.

So this is... Actually, Camryn wrote

the first part of the line

and then Milo wrote this part here.

The idea is to engrave Milo and Camryn's

actual handwriting into the dolomite table top

and fill the engraving with an epoxy

that looks like brass or with real brass inlay.

We're just trying to play with maybe doing

like an engraving style or we wanna use

a real brass that's solid

or if we're gonna be using something more like

this powdered brass.

[Drew] That didn't even look like brass.

Yeah, it's kind of a dull finish.

It doesn't really pop like I was thinking it was going.

[David] So this is... This is the epoxy

that we talked about just as an option.

And then this is just engraved

obviously with nothing in it.

I think it need to stand out a little bit more.

To be honest, the epoxy just isn't delivering

that shine and that wow factor that we were looking for.

So it looks like we need to go with the solid brass inlay.

It's gonna bring that brighter luster

when you have that solid brass

versus that epoxy brass.

I got one other thing to show you, the bases.

-[Zach] We could pull a... -[Drew] Oh, yeah.

-Check this out. -[Drew] Oh, sweet.

Oh, I love that.

So we could actually do the test fit

and slip it on there.

Yeah. Here, let's do it.

Ooh.

I mean, I think it's pretty gorgeous.

you want something sturdy enough

that it's gonna support the table but not so bulky

that you can't get your legs out of the table.

I think Camryn and Milo are gonna be blown away

she's gonna be reminded how much they love her.

This was one of the most special projects

because I love seeing the love for Mia

but also the love for each other make this happen.
