boy am i glad that forest fire is

finally under control it was terrible to

see all those beautiful trees burning

yeah because some camper got jealous

with matches well at least we stopped it

before it burned too many acres i'm beat

i feel like i could sleep for a week

i think tooth will speak you to it

jackie

hey what's this

that sounded like a bear a big one too

probably a grizzly dad there's a bear in

that cage that must be king mr brigsby's

pet grizzly is he that millionaire that

he raised the bear from a cub and stated

in his will king is to be set free into

the wilderness you mean he's really

gentle and you can pet him in everything

that's right he's just like an overgrown

can we see him dad

i don't see why not

go on ben he wants to shake your hand

gee i don't know it's all right ben he's

dad can we let him out and see if he

knows any other tricks i think it'll be

all right just be careful he probably

doesn't know his own strength

wow that's the biggest grizzly i've ever

seen the trainer said he stands nine

feet in his hind legs and weighs close

to 1500 pounds boy he'd make a great

football player then this envelope was

in the mailbox for you from the brigsby

must be instructions about king

what's it say dad mr brigsby was

concerned that king has never known the

wilderness and may not be able to cope

he wants him to be outfitted with an

electronic tracking device you mean so

we'll know where he is all the time

that's right ben gee i'd love to keep

him i bet he'd make a neat pet see if

he'll shake hands with lassie

couldn't we keep king around for a

couple weeks dad i'm afraid not susan

orders are orders why don't we all get a

good night's sleep and fly king into the

forest in the morning good idea laura

jackie put king back in his cage and

let's hit the sack okay dad come on king

tonight king see you in the morning

sleep tight king

hey king are you awake boy we've got a

surprise for you honey and bread

okay susan slip that line on king's cage

onto our hook and we'll winch him up

stand clear kids

there you go king

now we'll be able to keep track of you

wherever you go do you think king's

gonna like to force dad it's hard to say

he was born and raised as a domestic

animal the wilderness may take some

getting used to maybe we should stay

with him for a couple of nights until he

knows his way around can't do it jackie

forest fire that we have to help out on

ben we're approaching the drop-off point

come on up king this is your new homeboy

come on boy come on

look at that he loves it out here

working all right by the way he's taken

to the wilderness i don't think we'll

air again better not get used to it ben

we'll be back on the fire line again as

soon as we're fueled i wonder how king

is getting along poor guy sure looked

sad when we left he's in good company

lassie will take care of him okay mr

turner she's all ready to go thanks lou

let's get moving rangers we've had a

report that the fire has spread to the

city zoo

looks like they've evacuated some of the

animals already yeah mostly just the big

ones left and the most dangerous that

fire is really spooking them we've got

laura set us down that i want you to

susan to pick up lassie and the other

animals i think we're going to need them

okay then

um

hi lassie where's king

come on mom king is in toothless cave

oh you must have been in a terrible

fight

susan what happened to king i think he's

been in a fight it looks like he got the

worst of it is he badly hurt well some

cuts and scratches but i don't think

it looks like his pride suffered most of

all poor guy you've had a rough first

day haven't you susan we better get the

animals aboard and be on our way they

need our help back at the zoo okay mom i

guess king will be all right on his own

he has to learn sometime we'll be back

as soon as we can king

that's the last of the monkeys dad okay

you're loaded get moving

what about the big animals mr turner

there's still some of them left that's a

we can't move them without using a

tranquilizing gun dad look

he's headed this way look out

we've evacuated all the animals we could

the rest escaped and took off at the

city escaped how many were there i'm not

two of the big cats a bull elephant

maybe a couple of others

fire control this is rescue one we are

on route to city in pursuit of escaped

zoo animals roger rescue one the winds

have subsided the weatherman tells us a

storm front is headed our way good luck

that's good news the good rain would

sure help put out that fire danny look

king's nearly out of the forest he must

have followed us sure looks that way

he's headed right for the city can't we

pick him up dad not until we find those

they're a lot more dangerous than king

rescue one this is flint ridge police

department we have a report of an

elephant on the rampage along 51st

street on the south side of the city

roger rescue one responding

am i glad to see you ben that elephant's

sergeant don't know for sure somewhere

in this block he won't be hard to find

overturned cars and damaged buildings

jackie break out the tranquilizing gun

gene fox you lassie and susan take the

jackie and i will take the south

keep me posted by walkie-talkie and be

ben you stay here with your mother and

getting reports on those other animals

tranquilizing gun toothless and ravi go

with us let's get moving

wow

it looks like a bomb hit this place

those african elephants probably weigh

six or seven tons and when they're

that's him pick up the scent lassie

he's in there all right i'd better let

mr turner know mr turner this is gene

fox go ahead gene fox we've located the

elephant in one of those high-rise

parking structures on 51st street near

we'll be there in three minutes keen fox

come on we gotta slow him down until

your dad gets here

we'll never stop him we've got to no

telling what he'll do if he reaches that

roof

wow

that was a close one lucky for us lassie

coming up where's the elephant now she's

couldn't stop her roger we'll take the

elevator meet us up there

how long will the effects of that

tranquilizing dart last dad he'll

probably sleep for about 30 minutes or

so just long enough for us to get him

back in his pen

popcorn get your popcorn here

he's waking up

he'll be a little wobbly-legged for an

hour or so then it'll be all right lucky

wouldn't have any place to put them ben

this is laura i just received a police

report that two lions and the grizzly

have been sighted in city park grizzly

mom did you check the map is it king

that's affirmative susan meet us at the

park laura roger let's go

what's the situation laura well the

police have cordoned off as much of the

park as possible but it still leaves a

lot of room for escape the park covers

about 200 acres what about king mom the

tracking device on the map pinpoints

somewhere around that area of trees and

brush any word on the lions no nothing

definite it's just that they were last

seen somewhere in this park susan you

and ben go to your mother and rescue one

we'll search from the ground

see anything yet jackie not yet dad

hold it i think gene fox has found

something we found some of king's

footprints and some trampled shrubbery

it looks like he passed through here not

let me know the minute you find anything

what's wrong girl

lassie

lassie come back

come back jackie do you read me roger

i stepped in the gopher hole or

something and i'm afraid i hurt my ankle

i can't move we'll be right there dad

i wondered where you were girl

looks like we've got company lassie

those lines have taken a sudden liking

better get that tranquilizing gun over

here on the double roger

i'm sure glad to see you old boy dad are

thanks to king great we got both lions

with the tranquilizers good work jackie

now let's get rescue one down here and

head for home

that away king well it looks like king

is getting to like his new home after

all

let's follow them

what's lassie doing

do you think there's something in that

cave well that's anybody's guess susan

hey it's another bear dad

is that a female sure is susan

what are they doing now dad they're

getting to know each other through their

it's part of their courtship wow it

looks like love at first sight come on
