All language subtitles for 007 Q and A_en

The next capability that I'd like to speak about is the ability to do something called Q and A within

Microsoft Power VR.

Now, Microsoft has been putting a lot of money into artificial intelligence.

I mentioned it earlier on in the course as well.

So basically what it's trying to do is it's trying to create a situation where people can ask natural

language questions of the data so you can actually just come into the system and you could say, what

is my sales in France, for example?

So we're currently still on the Maas workspace.

And what you'll find is that if you go to the sales dashboard, you will see that there is an option

up here called ask a question of your data.

So let's select that and this will take us into the Q&A.

So basically says, What question do you want to ask of the data?

So let's just say what is let's select that and say, what is my sales in France, for example?

So you can see now that it starts to select options.

So its underlying sales it's under in France.

So it's understanding now what what is these figures?

And you can see it actually gives me the correct answer.

It's telling me there's 3 million in sales.

So have a look though, what it's actually doing.

What you'll see on the right hand side is we've got off filters and it's saying country is in France.

If we go to our visualization, it's actually pick the card visualization and we've actually got our

data here as well.

So basically what it's doing is it's looking through our data set and it's building the visualizations

and it's building the filters according to the question that we're asking, if we wanted to see this

in a different type of visualization, we could say we would want to see this as a table.

Now we'd see the total sales there as a table.

So you could change this.

What you could also do, though, is you could actually specify it in your question.

So you could say that you want to see this as a table.

So you say, I want to see that as a table.

Now, in this case, it doesn't quite understand it correctly.

So what it's done is shown you all of the sales values.

So what we'd need to do in this case is just go to our visualizations and we would need to say that

we want this to some and not to be on to summarize, but there we go.

We've now actually got the correct answer for that.

So this is really what it's trying to do, is it's using natural language questions and it's actually

now building them together for the data and visualizations.

Let's look at another example.

So saying, what is my sales in France?

But let's say we want to understand it by our different product categories.

So let's say we want to say by our product category.

And you can see now it's starting to build this out.

So it's starting to give me two options.

It's saying one is Marcel's in France product category or by the product subcategory.

So let's just select by product category.

And again, now it's selected and it's chosen a visualization.

It's chosen that it's going to use the plastic bar chart to represent this.

And again, we could change this if we wanted to.

Again, we could go back to a table there.

It's showing me that as a table information, or I could use a column graph.

And one of the things is when you're asking these questions and if you like, some of the responses

is you can actually pin the visual back into your dashboard.

So over here we could take this and we could pin this back into the dashboard if we actually like,

okay, So I think you start to get the idea of what it's doing here is really it's just using those

Q&A to be able to build this up.

What I want to do now, though, is I'm going to go back into the pub, your desktop, and we're going

to look at the Q&A feature within the desktop and we're just going to review some other features that

we have there as well.

So let's go back to the pub, your desktop.

So we're back in the pub by desktop.

Now what I'm going to do is I'm actually going to create a new page and let's just call this our Q and

a page, right?

So if you go across your visualizations, you'll see that there's actually a Q&A visualization that

you can use.

So select that and let's make it a much bigger so we can see what's going on here.

So you can see that it's basically got the same type of style that we saw in the pub, your service,

ask a question about your data.

So again, we could say, what is my sales in France?

And you can see here, it's actually suggesting other countries as well.

So again, we get the same answer and you can see that it's now created this as a card visualization.

And basically, it's using the same approach as what we did just now.

So, again, if you wanted to, you could just say by product category.

And hopefully we should see the same.

There we go.

We should see the same type of logic being built.

So when we select that.

And can see here product category and sales with country and data one are in France.

So now what it's done is that you just change that to represent the way that it's viewing the question.

So one of the things that we can do here, though, is that we do get the ability to change some of

our settings.

So when you click on the little icon there for your gears, this allows you to come in here and to assist

the Q&A.

So there's a couple of different ways that you can do that.

So the first one is, is that we can build synonyms for different words.

So this allows me to go into my data one, and when we got different words, we can actually now tell

it what other words may be used for this.

So I'm going to go down.

I'm going to actually see there we go, we've got our sales.

So over here we might want to say we've got sale at the moment.

We could add another word.

So we could say that we actually want to say that this sales is another word we could use.

For example, we could also use revenue as another word.

Also make suggestions in terms of words that you could use.

And some of these you may decide really on appropriate.

So you could just remove those as well and take those out.

But really what you can do is you can come into this and you can start to actually then help it in terms

of understanding what people mean by the different types of questions.

So that is one option that we've got.

We can come into that.

The other one is, is that you get review.

Question So if you were to publish this up and people were using the Q&A functionality, you can then

actually come into this and you can see what other questions people have asked.

So this would give you a good idea of the types of questions people are looking for answers.

So if you go into this at the moment, I don't have any questions that are built on this, but you would

see that.

You can also go across here and to your Q&A.

So when people actually ask questions, you can say how you want this now to be previewed.

So basically, what is the different questions that you want to be able to have this to preview?

So as you can see, you can go through this now and you can actually be able to update this, You can

train it, you can give it more information.

But it really is something that's kind of experimental and whether it's going to work or not, I think

it's something that you're just going to need to try and test.

It's obviously something that Microsoft is working a lot on.

Let's try this revenue now and let's see if it understands that.

So let's go out of this and see if we now prepare.

Let's remove all that and let's just say, what is my revenue in China?

And there we go.

That does actually now recognize it.

So as I said, this was just meant to be just a quick overview on the Q&A features.

As you can see, it's something that's quite experimental, something you'll probably see as well on

the screen still in preview, but definitely something to to play around with.
