In this lesson.

We're going to continue to talk about the sales dashboard.

So as I was saying, that one of the reasons for creating the sales dashboard is that you can view these

different items easier on different devices.

So you may want to use your smartphone and be able to access your your data from there.

So we've currently got these four visualizations that are in this dashboard.

And if we wanted to see what this would look like on our phone, we can actually go to the dropdown

for edit and you'll see that mobile layout is one of our options.

Okay, So I'm going to select now the mobile layout and what you'll see is it will now show me the view

of what this would look like in my phone.

To be able to access this on your phone, you would need to go to the Apple or to the Android stores

and then download the Microsoft Power BI app.

If you download it, you're going to say ZG works really well.

You just sign in with your power, your service credentials, and it will then give you access to your

reports and to your dashboards through your phone or through your tablet.

As I said, it does work really, really well.

So you'll see with this what you can do is you can actually unpin this or you can hide it.

So if you select it, you could remove it.

So if you wanted to, you can change the order of these.

So if we wanted, say, for example, this to be first and then this second, this this fourth, then

you can have it in those options.

Now what you will see is that this is really just showing the visualization of the data.

You're not getting the interactivity of your slices because this is a small screen, so you don't have

a lot of interactivity to work with.

So once you're happy with this, you've got your mobile layout, then you're actually able to go back

and you can actually go back to your web layout and that would now be stored.

And whoever accesses this through the phone would now see that new mobile layout for their sales dashboard.

So as I say, that's basically how that works.

Also, what Microsoft did create for Power BI was the ability to have actually a mobile report.

Now what the mobile report will do is it gives you a version that you can run on your phone, but you

do get more interactivity.

You are able to use slices now to be able to create this.

We actually need to go back to the Power BI desktop.

So let's go back to the Power BI desktop.

Okay, so we're back in the Power BI desktop now and what we're going to do is we're going to go to

our view and you'll see that there's an option called a mobile layout.

So as you can see there, it says design report for mobile devices.

So when I select this, it now brings up a phone type view, but you can see it's a little bit more

sophisticated than the one that we've just seen in the palm of your service.

It does give you more options.

Now, what's going to happen with this is that when you choose report in your mobile device, it will

then present this as your report.

So please remember, you have difference between reports and dashboards are two different things.

The dashboard will still present as what we've just seen now.

Okay, so let's have a quick look at this.

Let's see if we could add, say, our total sales in here.

And you can see that that's quite big, that number.

And let's pop our total profit also in there, also quite big.

And you'll see there are ability to change your formatting and things as well.

So with your visualization, say for example, you did want to make this number smaller, could actually

turn around and say, I want to make that a size 16 for this.

And it will warn you to say changing the settings in the mobile layout will not affect the desktop layout.

So this has only been changed against your mobile layout.

So I'm going to say got it on that.

So that's really useful.

I can do the same over here, set any size 16.

So as I say, you can actually go through this and you can change the actual settings.

Also, we could have, say, our trend charts in here.

Make it a little bit bigger.

Now, the big part is, is that we're able to add a slicer.

So now this will give us some ability now to be able to change within our actual phone.

So this is what the report would look like on my mobile device.

And if I was to select Asia, Europe or North America, you would then see that these items would be

filtered.

And again, if I wanted to add this, for example, just go down here and.

Then I select that.

So this is really up for you to design.

Once you're happy with it, all you do is you just go out of mobile layout, you just select that and

next time you publish a report up into the air service, it will then replace the existing report when

somebody is using a mobile device.

So this is something that I would suggest you just experiment with first.

So basically create your report, publish it up to the your service, try your sales dashboard, Try

also this mobile device, go into into your own mobile devices, see what it looks like on the screens

and really just play around with this a little bit and see how it works.
