In this lesson, we're just going to explore some additional capabilities that we can do with our graphs.

So I'm going to go back to the graph page and let's have a look at this bar graph that we got with our

sum of profit by country.

Now, if you go into the top right hand corner, you'll see that there's a couple of icons.

And the first one is the filters and visual.

Now, we've already seen that we've got slices and we've also got filters that can be put on the visualization

itself.

So this would show you a list of all the filters that are actually applied on the visualization.

This can be quite useful when you're trying to understand exactly what data the visualization is showing

you.

The next one is the ability to change the focus mode.

Now, sometimes when you're building a report, you may find that a graph only gets a small amount of

space and you might want to enlarge that space.

So this makes just then a full page in terms of being able to see the graph itself.

To go back, all you do is you go back to report and you'll see now that you go back to the way that

it was.

You also see that there's three ellipses.

The top right hand corner.

Now, when it comes to our graphs or our tables, you do get the ability to be able to export your data.

This will allow you to export it in a CSV format and allow you to take it into Excel if you wanted to

work with it there.

The next option that we've got is to be able to show this as a table, and this can be quite useful

when you want to show a visualization such as this where you've got a graph, but also you want a table,

you want to be able to see the data that is actually being displayed as a table format as well.

Again, you'll see that this has gone into focus mode.

So to go back to the report, you would click on this one.

But before we go back, though, I do want to show you there is a different view you can use.

You could use a vertical layout as well.

So sometimes it just makes it easier to view the table, especially when you've got quite a long list

of data like we've got here with the countries.

To go back to the report.

You just select that.

Then also you will see that there is the ability to remove it.

We've seen that already.

Spotlight will just gray out the other visualizations that are there and you'll see it puts a bit of

a shadow around this.

So it just highlights the current visualization.

That's basically what a spotlight does.

Then the last option is actually on your visualizations, on your graphs, is you need ability to be

able to change the sort order.

Now, we saw with the table, you just clicked on the column, very easy to change the sort order here.

You need to change it a little bit different.

So you first select which field you want to do the sort on.

So if you want to change a country, for example, you select that, then you would come back again

and then you'd say, How do you want it to be so descending or sort ascending?

So in this case, this is A to Z.

If we go back to this again, you will see that it's sorting, descending, said to a if we go back

again, you might want to change the sort order to the sum of profit again.

Now you could change.

Do you want to ascending or descending.

So quite easy to change.

Just a couple of clicks though, that are that are required for that.

So that's how you would use that.

Now, another feature that I'd like to touch on before we move on to the next lesson is this ability

to use something called tooltips.

Now, what you may have noticed is that when you put your cursor onto a specific item, let's just click

on that go across here.

You'll see that it shows me now a tooltip and the tooltip gives me quite interesting data.

So it showed me the country here and the actual sum of profit value.

So as I move this, you'll see each one of these will then change according to where I've placed it.

And you can see the same behavior.

If I moved it across onto this one here.

Over here.

To the tooltips are really useful when you want to see exact data.

What is the actual values?

But what you can do with the tooltip is you can actually add additional information into there.

So currently here we got the sum of profit by country.

Let's say we wanted to see the sales value as well so you could actually drop the sales value into the

tooltip.

And now go back across here and then you'll see that you get your countries some a profit and some of

sales.

Also, what you could do is you remember previously that we actually used the different methods of aggregation.

So let's say you wanted to know for the country what was the average sale value.

So you could drop the sale value again into here.

Change a method of aggregation, say, to average.

And then you'll see now that when you go across here, you get the some of profit, some of sales average

of cells.

Now, please note as well that you can double click on this just like you could previously, and you

could change this heading if you wanted to.

So when you go back now, you'll see that the it's changed the labeling to now show the average of sales

like that.

You can even show the percentage of sales.

So if we go across now.

Remember earlier we changed the share values and so we changed it to a percentage of grand total.

Select that and you'll see now when we go in there that you get your percentage of grand total.

So this is now showing me it's 57% of the total.

China's got a lot less at 13.6 for Germany and so on.

So quite useful data to help you understand also, though, what it does is it actually when you go

back to your table shows table, you'll now see that these values have been added into your table.

Also, you'll find that if you export this as a CSV, these values will also be exported.

So these are really quite useful features to add on.

So this is really just using your tooltips to add additional information into your graphs.
