So our sales manager has approached us and asked us to answer some questions for him.

So the first question we're going to be looking at is which manufacturer has the highest sales?

So what I'm going to do for this activity is I'm actually going to create a new page.

So you'll see that down at the bottom you get a plus sign and what you can do is you can click on that

and it will now create a new page within your report.

If you want to change the name of it, you can just double click on it and you can now give it a name.

I'm going to call this activity.

You also see if you right click on it that you also get some options, such as duplicating the page,

renaming, deleting and hiding the page.

So there's just some things you can do.

So you see now that this gives me a new page, I've still got my page one and easily go back to that

at any time.

Okay, so let's have a look at how we're going to answer these questions.

So the first question is which manufacturer has the highest sales?

So again, we'd just use a table for this and I'm not going to worry too much about my formatting.

I'm going to leave you to experiment with that.

So we'll just use our manufacturer for this and we'll use our sales and we'll go into that.

Now, one of the things that you might want to know is that when you're working with your tables is

that you do have the ability to be able to sort your tables.

So this is really useful.

What you can do is you just go to the column and when you click on the column, this will now actually

sort that column.

So now I've got a selected so that the highest sales is actually on top.

If I went to my manufacturer, it would sort this now A to Z, Z to A, and you can see very easy to

do.

So tables are really great, really easy to sort.

So let's just get the highest sales and you can see that the fabric has a sales of 12,004,281.

We're going to now just make this a little bit smaller.

Let's move it out the way for now.

Let's move on to our next question.

Which product category has the lowest profit value?

I'm going to create a new table for this, and it's just popping up product category into this.

We're going to use our product category and we're using our profit in this one.

Let's drop our profit.

And again, you can see it's already been formatted, so the figures look really nice.

Again, I can use my sorting, so I'm just going to click on the column and again now if I click on

the column name, you can see now that the lowest value is actually audio and it's 577,270.

All right, let's move on.

Again, we could keep this if we wanted to.

Just pop it in the corner.

Let's get another table.

And we're going to say which channel has the highest cost of sales.

So again, could go into our channel.

Let's drop that in there.

Let's use our cost of sales value.

Now you see, my cost of sales hasn't currently been formatted, so it's got those decimal values.

I just find it harder to read with the decimal values and really just adds extra numerics for you to

try and figure out which just makes life more difficult.

So we're just going to click on cost of sales and we'll go up into our column tools.

Remember this from earlier.

Let's go across to our formatting.

Remember the thousand separator?

We're going to select that.

It's going to then make the format decimal number, and in this case we're going to say we want zero

decimals as the default.

And just remember that this this is just a default.

We can override it in the formatting for the visualization if we want to.

Right?

So we got the data we're looking for.

And in this case, we wanted to know the channel with the highest cost of sales.

So again, let's use our sort.

So there we go.

We can see now that store has a total cost of sales of 13,671,368.

All right.

That's again, just move that into the corner.

And let's grab a new one.

So the next one we're looking at which manufacturer has the highest profit.

So again, I can use the table for this.

Let's just change that.

And we want to know our manufacturer this time and our profit value.

And again, using our sort should be getting the hang of this pretty easy.

So if I became again, is the top of the pile.

It's got a total profit of 7,158,977.

That over there.

Care, Right?

Next one.

Which promotion name has the highest sales?

So again, we're using our table using our promotion name.

Let's find our promotion name.

I didn't add in there.

Let's try that again.

Promotion name there.

And in this case, we're looking for highest sales.

There we go.

Sort this again.

So highest sales, actually, no discount, has the highest sales value of 18,329,360.

Some people might say they're not.

Discount is actually not really a promotion.

So maybe the North America back to school promotion is actually the one with the highest.

But I'll leave this to whichever value you prefer.

The main thing that I want you to be doing here is just really practicing putting a table together,

using your fields, and then using your sorting.

Like the last one we're going to be looking at which product category, Product subcategory actually

in this time has the highest profit.

So we're going to again, choose a table.

Just remember, when you're creating the table, you actually have to click on the whitespace just so

that it deactivates the one that you were on.

If you're on a table and you actually select another visualization, it will actually change that to

the new visualization.

So if I'm on this table and I've got a matrix, you'll see now that it now changes this to a matrix

because it was selected at the time that I did this.

I want to go back to a table.

I can just select that.

So just be careful of that.

Just make sure that you click on whitespace on a new table.

There we go.

I know there's quite a few product subcategories.

I'm going to drop that in there.

We should have quite a list.

Try that again.

So we've got quite a list here.

In this case, we want another highest profit.

So we're going to be looking at our profit again and again.

We're going to use our sort.

And it's showing us that camcorders has the highest profit.

4,972,883.

So there we go.

That should have been quick and easy.

Just put together some simple tables.

Hopefully our sales manager is now happy and we're going to move on to the next lesson.
