Welcome to the section.

So in this section, we're going to kick things off by looking at the power by products.

So we have the power by our desktop and we have the power by service.

So the power by our service runs on the Internet and can basically be accessed by any technology that's

got an Internet browser.

So we're going to look at how we can sign up for this, how we can log into it.

Please note, though, that when you sign up for this, you can only sign up for it with a work based

email address.

Cannot use a free address such as Gmail or Hotmail.

So just take that into consideration in the course as well.

We're going to be looking at our Power BI desktop, which only one runs on Windows, so it's an app

that you download, you run on Windows and you're going to see that it's got quite a few more features

than the actual power by service itself.

So we're going to cover both of these in the course.

The next part that I wanted to speak about is that there's actually a paid version of Power BI and the

free version.

So with a free version, you can actually log into the Power BI service and you can use your own workspace

for creation.

However, you cannot actually share your work.

There is then a paid version of Power BI With a paid version you can share your work with other people,

but please note that they must also have the paid license to be able to share the work.

So just be aware of this when we are working through it.

But during the course I will highlight which features require the paid version and show those to you.

Now the final part that we're going to be doing in this section is we're going to be looking at how

we can load some data into the Power BI service.

So in this part we're just going to take some data.

We've got it in the Excel file, so please make sure that you download this from the Udemy resources.

Make sure you've got the Excel files.

We're going to load it into the Power BI service and just create a quick little table with that.

However, you're going to see during the course that we're going to use this data later on in the Power

BI desktop and we're going to create much more sophisticated reports.
