[Men in Love]

[Episode 38]

Why are you here?

You're my bro. I don't want to lose you.

I didn't expect

you could find it.

Do you remember what you wrote?

No.

You told me

when I was playing basketball, I should not only fix my attention

on the ball, but also should pay attention to the players.

Well.

Why did you write this in the letter?

Why didn't you tell me that in person?

You don't know

how long it took me

to learn to pay attention to both the ball and the players.

Maybe

I wanted to beat you at that time.

Yeah.

Your grades were better than me.

You played basketball better than me.

You always won.

Even when I wanted to cheat on the exam,

I could only rely on you.

But Xu Yan, you always

knew the right answer in the past.

What about this time?

Do you know what the right answer is?

Living a life is not taking an exam

with multiple choice questions.

You cannot just choose A or B.

It's not like that.

There has never been a right answer.

But actually,

we have the same objective.

That is,

to make Jialin stop being unhappy,

and make her not cry anymore.

If you have to

have the so-called right answer,

then this is the right answer.

Please.

My good bro.

Hello?

Hello?

What are you doing?

I'll treat you to dinner, okay?

Okay.

You're in a good mood today.

Yes.

Because Eric has chosen my work

for the Fashion Week show.

We should celebrate it.

But I have a meeting later.

I might be late.

It's okay.

I need to do some preparations.

I'll pick you up later.

See you later.

Bye.

Xu Yan.

I'm Xu Jialin, your private cook.

[Yan Yan Law Firm]

Enjoy your meal.

Wow.

Give it a try.

I made these myself.

Amazing.

Madam, you can't go in.

You didn't make an appointment.

Go away.

This is my job. I have to stop you.

Auntie.

Have a seat.

Mom, this is his workplace.

Let's talk at home.

Auntie.

I didn't know you were coming.

I'm really sorry.

I should have visited you.

Xu Yan.

I want to you to tell me.

Do you think you two are suited to each other?

Xu Yan.

I've known you for more than ten years.

I know you're a good guy.

How could you do this?

Auntie.

I'm serious about Jialin.

You are Jiacheng's friend.

You're like Jialin's big brother.

You're almost ten years older than her.

Mom.

I don't want to put it too harshly.

But you should know it yourself.

Mom, what are you doing?

This is Xu Yan's workplace.

This is about the rest of your sister's life.

Let's talk at home.

Mom, let's talk about this at home, okay?

You really think Xu Yan and your sister can be together?

Do you think it's okay?

[Yan Yan Law Firm]

They love each other and are happy to be together.

Why can't they be a couple?

You are her elder brother.

She's your little sister.

You're really going to do nothing about it?

This is Jialin's life.

The one who will spend the rest of the life with him

is Jialin, not you or me.

Mom.

[Yan Yan Law Firm]

Stop it.

Why would my two children be like this?

Brother.

Thank you.

Thank you.

[IN WORK]

Hello, Auntie.

Are you here to see Jiacheng?

I didn't expect that you and he are still together

and that he's not bored of you.

[Clouds Cafe]

Wait.

I've seen your dad.

Your dad is poorer and more pathetic

than I thought.

Actually,

you and your dad are smart.

Let me say it again.

I will never let a girl like you

be my daughter-in-law.

[Refuse] [Answer]

[Honey]

Lu Zheng, be cool.

Be cool.

Hello?

Do you have my passport?

Passport? Why do you need it?

Who will you travel with?

Answer my question first.

Your passport?

I know where it is.

It's in the drawer under your dresser.

Are you sure?

Yes.

It's in that folder.

Okay, I got it.

I'll send someone to get it.

Listen, Guo Shengyun.

If you want it,

come and get it yourself.

I won't give it to someone else.

Bye.

Hello.

Give it to me.

Give you what?

My passport.

I didn't see your passport.

I always don't know where it is.

Is this funny?

I'm busy every day.

I missed you.

I want to see you.

We used to be husband and wife. Let's have a drink.

It's interesting

that we hadn't drunk together

though we'd been married for so many years.

There's one more thing I'm curious about.

About what?

Between you and me,

who can drink more and not get drunk?

This is called the Glass of Regret.

What do you regret?

Recently, every day,

I would remember

one thing I did wrong in the past

and I would regret it.

Why would I do that?

That's because I still love you.

I still like you.

But when you came,

you looked fine.

That made me feel even more upset.

You

want me to be sad?

Do you want to hear the truth?

Yes, tell me the truth.

I just don't want you

to start a new life with that man.

Are you going out with that man?

I just had one meal with him.

Really?

You can believe me or not.

You won't believe me anyway.

What you just said

sounds so familiar.

Didn't I

say those words all the time in the past?

You didn't believe me.

Then let me tell you,

from beginning to end,

I only loved one woman.

Her name is Guo Shengyun.

Guo Shengyun.

You...

♫I'll be heartbroken no matter how careful I am♫

I don't know

why I fell in love with you.

♫Maybe you have nothing to say♫

You're older than me.

You have a worse temper than me.

Yes, you're rich.

♫Our love takes a roundabout route♫

But I don't want your money.

I'm old?

♫We could only blame that we didn't have time to prepare for it♫

I have a bad temper?

We're divorced.

We're too close right now.

♫If missing is a misunderstanding♫

Keep a distance.

We shouldn't touch each other.

♫The contradictory emotions are also shaky♫

♫The traffic lights are like tears♫

♫Twinkling in my heart♫

I know you.

♫Time has stolen blossoms♫

You look

strong and tough.

But you have a soft heart.

♫Like a silent monologue♫

You need someone to rely on.

♫But my heartbeats♫

♫Turn the past pages♫

Don't act tough.

♫We met by chance and missed each other; I look forward to seeing you again♫

Don't force yourself to drink.

♫I don't dare to love even if I long to♫

I want to drink, understand?

♫But how can I forget your tenderness?♫

I know how much you can drink.

You can't drink much.

You'll have a stomachache if you drink too much.

♫Distance makes people retreat♫

Listen.

You're alone now.

♫Can I still face it if I turn around?♫

You need to learn to take care of yourself

and protect yourself.

In the past,

♫I want to hug you 'cause you're precious♫

I could keep an eye on you.

♫I always doubt myself and take myself as a humble person♫

But now,

you have to rely on yourself.

♫The denial hit my sore point♫

You can't drink much.

♫How embarrassing it's for me when I'm heartbroken♫

You need to eat on time.

♫Time has stolen blossoms♫

Don't forget to eat when you are busy at work.

You shouldn't do that.

Understand?

And

♫Like a silent monologue♫

don't drink iced coffee.

♫But my heartbeats♫

♫Turn the past pages♫

Drink something warm.

Take good care of your stomach.

You'll have a stomachache when you drink something cold.

♫We met by chance and missed each other; I look forward to seeing you again♫

♫I don't dare to love even if I long to♫

When you have a stomachache,

I'll

♫But how can I forget your tenderness?♫

have one too.

♫We drifted apart in the crowd♫

♫I'm lingering in the same spot♫

♫I can't let go no matter how hard I try♫

♫Dust of constraints♫

♫When will the sunshine return?♫

♫I've never really understood♫

♫The future beyond my reach♫

♫I've been looking forward to it♫

♫I just found that you're irreplaceable♫

♫How can I love like the way you do?♫

What are you doing?

Stop it.

Wake up.

Stop it.

-I'm sleeping. -Wake up, Guo Shengyun.

I want to sleep.

Explain it.

What did we do?

Why were you sleeping here?

What do you mean?

Why were you sleeping in the same bed with me?

I remember now.

You made me drink yesterday.

Then you put me on the bed.

That's it. How could you do that?

I didn't make you drink.

You did.

I was asking you to stop drinking

all the time last night.

You didn't listen.

By the way,

did you kiss me first yesterday?

Me?

Did you kiss me first?

I think you just wanted to kiss me.

Tell me, you...

What did you do?

-What? -What did you do?

What do you mean?

Okay.

We're adults, right?

Let's pretend nothing happened.

Good idea.

Nothing happened.

We're divorced.

Why did you sleep in the same bed with me?

Is it funny?

You think I wanted to sleep with you?

The national league is coming.

We have been waiting for it for a long time.

Are you nervous?

Yes.

No.

The national league is very important

to you now.

But compared with

all the things that will happen in your life,

it's just an insignificant event.

I'm not saying it's not important.

In the coming two days,

your ability

can not be

dramatically improved.

So take it easy and keep working hard.

Do your best.

Understand?

-Yes. -Yes.

Okay, cheer yourselves up.

Good luck.

Go! Go! Go!

[IN WORK]

I've been so busy lately.

Our executive editor is like you.

He's like a patient with serious OCD.

Well done.

How are things going with you?

Is everything going well?

Not bad.

But without you,

I feel there is something missing.

After so many years,

you finally realize how important I am.

During this Beijing trip,

I met many big shots in the industry.

And companies in Beijing started doing

electronic magazines earlier than those in Shanghai

and they develop faster.

Everyone here is talented.

Come on, I just praised you. Be confident.

I'm not saying I'm not confident.

I mean,

everyone here is talented,

but we are also great.

Our content is our advantage.

Our electronic magazines

will be very popular.

Yes.

Besides work,

do you have anything else to tell me?

No.

How are things with you and Xu Yan?

I heard you agreed that they could be together.

You heard it from Jialin, right?

I almost agreed. You know, in front of my mom.

You two still haven't got it settled?

He and I are good bros.

It takes time.

Yes.

Everything takes time.

I'm hanging up. The meeting will start soon.

Okay. Call me if you need to tell me something.

[Declaration]

♫Even the air is silent♫

♫There's no place for my heart to hide♫

♫The world stops, like an illusion♫

I cherish the present more than anyone else.

♫I thought you were calling me♫

I live in the present.

I'm in control of the trend

and I look into the future.

♫The hand I reached out touches nothing again♫

This is my job.

But someone told me

I was living in my past.

And the person who said that to me

♫I want to say something♫

has become part of my past.

♫But I just stand there and stare for a long time♫

♫Maybe I don't want to leave♫

♫It still hurts♫

♫Looking back♫

♫I feel so much warmth again♫

I'm here again.

Let me do this for you.

♫I'll be with you♫

[Zheng Jie]

I know you were a clean person.

♫You know it's true♫

I think you know

♫Memories are endless♫

why I'm here.

You were so smart.

[Zheng Jie]

♫But why♫

♫We've been with each other♫

♫But why can't we have each other?♫

It's because of you

that I know

♫I'll be with you♫

what true love is.

♫I'll see this through♫

I remember every moment

♫If we can notice all the considerations♫

that I spent with you.

Thank you.

♫At the intersection of time♫

[Zheng Jie]

♫Let's not lose each other again♫

♫On the snowy streets♫

♫I'm wandering alone again♫

The other day,

Jialin came to see you.

♫If we can meet♫

♫And change our destiny♫

I've decided to be together with her.

♫I'll go far away with you♫

[Zheng Jie]

♫In the future I've been dreaming of♫

♫Love is like a lost ark♫

I'm sorry, Jie.

I want

♫Where is the entrance to dreams♫

to take another step forward.

[Zheng Jie]

♫I don't know what to do♫

♫I'll be with you♫

Today,

♫You know it's true♫

let me stay with you.

♫Could you please not let go♫

Okay?

♫When you realize♫

Jie, I'm sorry

♫That I'll always be there♫

that I didn't come to see you that day.

♫Stopping for you♫

♫I'll be with you♫

♫I'll see this through♫

♫Let's greet with a smile♫

♫At every intersection♫

♫I'll be with you♫

Thank you for coming.

I feel bad

that I didn't come that day.

Thank you for what you did today.

I'll always be grateful to you.

My good brother.

You are the best brother in the world.

What's wrong with you?

I heard you've made up with Xu Yan.

Did I ever fall out with him?

Yes.

I got to know him before you did.

He's a closer friend to me than is he to you.

Okay. Okay.

You're the best, brother.

Now I only need to convince our parents.

I can't help you with that.

Fine.

I can do it myself.

By the way, you've been living

at Xiaoxiao's apartment recently.

How is Yiwen?

What is she busy with?

Yiwen?

Yiwen is busy with work.

She's really, really busy.

She wasn't very happy recently.

Did she say anything?

For example, what did I do wrong?

What did you do wrong?

None of your business.

Well.

You must have done something wrong.

You...

In my experience, whatever you did,

apologize first.

I don't need you to teach me.

Mind your own business.

Go keep Xu Yan company.

I can go?

Can I not go home tonight?

Bye.

[Refuse] [Answer]

[Jiacheng]

[Refuse] [Answer]

[Jiacheng]

[Refuse] [Answer]

[Jiacheng]

Some of our past

will not only be our past.

Unfortunately,

I just couldn't forget

the things that happened in the past.

The more I want to forget her,

the clearer my memories about her will become.

Time goes by.

These memories always linger in my head.

I've been manipulated by those memories.

When I don't want to forget,

they will disappear completely.

I understand that.

But for some reason,

I can't do it.

[Ta-da! You've finally found this letter.]

Ta-da!

You've finally found this letter.

I want to tell you something,

but it's too embarrassing to say it in front of you.

So I hid a small card here.

Ye Han.

I love you.

If you love me too,

give me a bunch of sunflowers

when you come to see me.

If you do that, I'll think you love me too.

Coming.

Hello, these are your flowers.

Who sent them?

There's no information about the sender.

Okay, thank you.

You're welcome. Bye.

Bye.

Hi.

Why are you holding so many flowers?

Because my dress has been chosen for the show.

My colleagues gave me these.

How about these flowers?

Are they for me too?

But none of them know my address.

Why were they sent to my home?

There's no sender's information.

We can't know who the sender is.

I've been really troubled lately.

It is something worth celebrating.

But I'm not in the mood to do that.

[Closed]

[Clouds Cafe]

[Clouds Cafe]

Hello?

Hello?

Ye Han.

I'm eating. Bye.

Don't hang up.

Can't you tell that I'm sad?

You are my bro.

Let me tell you.

I'm alone in the cafe.

What is it?

Guo Shengyun.

She went too far, you know?

She did something very unacceptable.

That night, she...

Later I tried to contact her

but she changed her phone number.

Isn't this unacceptable?

Say it again.

What did she do to you that night?

It's not important.

Well, actually it is important.

I don't know...

I don't know how to put it.

You're a grown man.

But you're like a loser.

What's wrong with being a loser in front of my wife?

Nothing wrong.

That's great.

So, can I ask you

a question that only a loser will ask?

Go ahead.

Has Xiaoxiao been to the cafe recently?

If she comes,

I'll tell you, okay?

She'll think of you when she comes to the cafe.

Do you think she'll come?

I see.

When are you coming back?

I'm so bored.

If you're bored,

go to Jiacheng or Xu Yan.

Call them.

Bye.

Ye Han.

If they can solve my problem,

why would I call you?

They're all useless.

So annoying.

I'm sorry

that I'm seeing Jialin.

I still want to

treat you to a meal.

You want to negotiate with us too?

No.

I hope

you can allow me to be Jialin's boyfriend.

I'm not here

to negotiate with you

but to apologize to you.

I've promised Jialin

that I'll give her true love

in the most beautiful years of her life.

She told me

she had never

been in love like her peers.

When others

were in sweet love,

She just hoped

she could stop liking me.

But she's never stopped

doing things for me.

Even when I

knew I had

got feelings for her,

I still pretended nothing had happened.

So from now on,

I'll make up for

what I did wrong to her.

I won't

make her feel lonely anymore.

I'll make her feel

that she's loved all the time.

I'll watch her grow up

and be responsible for her future life.

In the future,

no matter

what difficulties we meet,

I'll always be with her.

I know

in your eyes,

we are unsuited to each other.

But I can do

what I've just promised.

I will

keep my promise.

You're a lawyer.

No wonder you can say these beautiful words.

Why should we give you

the chance to keep your promise?

Why?

Because I love her.

I can swear to you on my life.

I'm very sure of my love for her.

I don't allow you to date.

Dad.

You are Jiacheng's good friend.

So,

I can't stand

watching you date, fight and break up.

If you want to be together,

just get married.

What are you talking about?

Get married?

Sure.

I agree.

Uncle.

Can you do it?

I can do it.

I can do it too.

We can get married tomorrow.

Dad.

What do you mean?

Don't you know your own daughter?

Will she compromise?

Fine, I'm out of it.

I don't care what you will do now.

None of my business.

You all don't listen to me.

Whatever.

You can do whatever you want.

Auntie, Auntie.

Jialin.

I agree to your marriage

because I can see

you really like him.

You like him so much that you made a plan

and other efforts to win his love.

I'm proud of you.

So,

after you get married,

go work for our company.

No problem, Dad.

I'll work hard.

Sit down.

Xu Yan.

Remember what you said

and how you are feeling today.

Remember your promise.

Always keep it in mind.

I will.

Thank you, Uncle.

In the future, I'll work harder

to win her mother's recognition.

I won't let you down.

[Refuse] [Answer]

[Jiacheng]

[Refuse] [Answer]

[Jiacheng]

Still working?

Why are you back?

You still have work unfinished?

Well.

Have you had supper?

Let's eat together.

Careful.

Thank you.

Thank you for your treat tonight.

Especially your barbecue.

Don't mention it.

Go home early. See you tomorrow.

Take care.

Have a good rest.

Okay.

Bye.

Bye

♫I'll be heartbroken no matter how careful I am♫

♫Maybe you have nothing to say♫

Why did you avoid me?

Did I?

You didn't answer my calls

or reply to my messages.

♫Our love takes a roundabout route♫

And just now you chatted with Eric happily.

♫We could only blame that we didn't have time to prepare for it♫

Now you don't even smile at me.

Did I do anything wrong?

You have to give me an explanation.

♫If missing is a misunderstanding♫

You did nothing wrong.

I was wrong.

♫The contradictory emotions are also shaky♫

♫The traffic lights are like tears♫

I thought I could handle everything, but I was wrong.

♫Twinkling in my heart♫

I'm sorry.

I can't take it anymore.

♫Time has stolen blossoms♫

Yiwen, what are you talking about?

♫Like a silent monologue♫

Your mother talked to my dad.

♫But my heartbeats♫

♫Turn the past pages♫

♫We met by chance and missed each other; I look forward to seeing you again♫

I'm sorry.

I don't know my mom...

Actually, I kind of understand your mom.

♫I don't dare to love even if I long to♫

She's right.

♫But how can I forget your tenderness?♫

As long as my dad is there...

This is not about your dad.

This is about you.

I didn't mean anything that my mom said.

Do you really believe we can completely ignore them?

♫Distance makes people retreat♫

Do you think you can stop seeing

your mom forever for me?

♫Can I still face it if I turn around?♫

If I have to choose,

I will choose you.

I have my own life.

I won't.

♫I want to hug you 'cause you're precious♫

Jiacheng, you are different from me.

♫I always doubt myself and take myself as a humble person♫

Family is important to you.

♫The denial hit my sore point♫

You'll regret it sooner or later.

♫How embarrassing it's for me when I'm heartbroken♫

If choose to stay with me

and hurt your mom,

♫Time has stolen blossoms♫

you'll hate me.

Don't you have confidence in me?

♫Like a silent monologue♫

We are adults.

You're too naive.

♫But my heartbeats♫

♫Turn the past pages♫

Naive?

♫The future beyond my reach♫

From the beginning till now,

♫I've been looking forward to it♫

I've been trying so hard.

♫I just found that you're irreplaceable♫

You now think I'm naive?

♫How can I love like the way you do?♫

There's no future for our relationship.

Because we can't change our family.

Let's end it before we start to

resent each other.

I'm sorry.

Tong Yiwen.

Why am I always given up

when you're making decisions about your life?

From the beginning to now,

I know we love each other deeply.

We encountered many problems,

but I lacked the courage to take a step forward.

Now I want to take a step forward.

Why don't you trust me?

Okay.

I'll think about it.

I'll wait for your call.

Because I'm always the one who has to wait.

♫We used to stand side by side♫

♫Chasing the light♫

♫The distant place that we were sure of♫

♫We've finally arrived♫

[Where are you? Are you home?]

[Why didn't you answer my call?]

[No answer]

♫In a bustling sea of people♫

♫We set out willfully♫

♫Forgetting to look back♫

♫You're in my life and you never left♫

[Where are you? Are you home?]

[Why didn't you answer my call?]

♫We protect each other's wishes♫

♫And embrace the world♫

♫Let's keep each other company and be stubborn♫

♫We'll go through all the dark nights♫

♫We grow up bravely♫

♫We have no regrets because we have all the burning moments♫

♫In the future♫

♫We meet again♫

♫Hide your edges and corners once in a while♫

♫Be a bird that flies towards the colorful world♫

♫On a new runway♫

♫Still proudly together♫

♫Rushing towards the next wave of the unknown♫

Welcome.

[Perfect]

Welcome.

Welcome.

Welcome.

I'm leaving.

[Perfect]

Wait.

What are you doing?

Don't scare us, Han.

That's right.

We haven't seen Han for a long time.

Where did you come back from?

Beijing.

Welcome to Shanghai.

Welcome back to Shanghai.

Welcome.

Welcome.

[Perfect]
