I was thinking of my message
today and going over my notes

and at the last second, God
sent me in a new direction.

I wanna discuss
God's timing today.

If you will turn with
me to 2 Peter 3:8-9.

Amen, the verse reads.

"But, beloved, be not
ignorant of this one thing,

that one day with the
Lord as a thousand years,

and a thousand
years as one day."

You know, Cardi B did not
become famous overnight.

You know I was...

I was talking to a
young man the other day

and he said his grandmother
shared a message with him.

She said, "When
you plant a seed,

you can't expect it to
bear fruit the next day

because if it did, how would
you see the power of God?"

And I thought that
was so, so perfect

because a lot of
times we plant a seed

and we get frustrated with God

if it doesn't bear
fruit the next day.

But that time is necessary
for the fruit to grow.

See, we want to see branches
and peaches and apples

after we planted it on Tuesday.

It ain't nothing but Thursday.

Oh, that's not how it works.

See, you gotta plant that seed
and you gotta water that seed

and you've got to wait.

And it's in the wait that
God does the blessing.

It doesn't look like
nothing's happening

but underneath the surface,

fruit is already being
prepared to bear.

King David was anointed
by Samuel when he was 15,

but he didn't take the
throne until he was 30.

When he was anointed,
you know what he did?

He went right back to work

because your anointing
and your ascension

are at different times.

A lot of y'all are
getting anointed

and you wanna ascend the
same day you're anointed.

But God needs that
time to prepare you.

God has to prepare you for the
place he's going to put you.

David went back to work
and 15 years later,

God was preparing him

so that when he
ascended to the throne,

he could rule for 33 years.

We don't wanna be placed
only to last for a day or so.

So let God prepare you.
