[The Substitute Princess's Love]

[Episode 22]

Yunqing.

What's wrong?

I had a dream.

In the dream, Her Highness was covered in blood.

I wanted to save her.

But I couldn't get to her.

Her Highness will be fine.

You don't need to be so worried.

Take good care of your health.

Let's wait for Her Highness to come back.

Last year

was my happiest time in the mansion.

But since the Princess of Liang came,

everything has changed.

His Highness had to do that to save Her Highness.

No one could have foreseen things would turn out this way.

Stop thinking too much.

The more worried you are, the more difficult it is for you to recover.

You've been here for several days.

Go back and have a rest.

No.

I just want to stay here.

I'm not a kid.

I don't need you to watch me sleep.

I just want to be with you.

Spring is coming.

Stop staying in my room.

You smell like my medicine now

and you don't look well.

You should go out

and see the birds and flowers outside

so that you'll have a better mood.

Are you asking me to leave?

I'll be fine.

I know it.

Gu Yunqing.

I like you.

I know.

I finally got Guard Wan to go back to sleep.

He was here with you

for three days.

He must have been exhausted.

Your Highness.

Mu'er.

Sister Yunying.

I'm glad you're finally back.

I came back secretly.

Don't tell His Highness.

Your Ladyship, Your Highness.

You two can have a chat.

I'll be standing at the door.

Okay.

Your Highness.

You look much thinner.

The last time we met was during the Spring Festival.

We had a good time in the mansion at that time.

I didn't expect

after a few days,

everything has changed.

Sister Yunying.

I'm not the princess anymore.

When you're not in the mansion,

this place is not lively anymore

and it smells like medicine every day.

It's

not like home now.

It's all my fault.

I should have come back earlier that day.

No, Sister Yunying.

Don't say that.

It's my fault.

I'm sorry I made you worried.

Sister Yunying.

You've been taking a lot of bitter medicine lately, right?

There's nothing else I can do for you.

I just made you some candies.

The medicine won't taste that bitter if you take it with the candies.

They look like flowers.

So beautiful.

Real flowers will wither.

But these candy flowers

will always taste sweet.

Your Highness.

Thank you.

Your Highness.

What brings you here?

Did you drink alcohol?

Hurry.

Sister.

You're still up?

Your Highness.

Without her, this place

is not home but a mansion which is not lively anymore.

It's too quiet and empty.

So I want to chat with you.

We had a feast in the royal palace today.

There were people singing and dancing.

It was a very happy occasion for them.

Then Your Highness,

did you feel happy today?

Some people said I had a cold heart.

It seems

they were right.

They didn't understand you.

All these years,

you know me the best.

You taught me how to be a good man

and how to have a good family.

It's all my fault.

I ruined our family.

Your Highness.

You didn't mean to let it happen.

Don't blame yourself.

How can I not blame myself?

She must hate me very much.

Otherwise, she wouldn't just disappear

and refuse to see me.

I wonder

how she's doing now.

Does she still often smile?

If she doesn't smile often because of me,

I can never

forgive myself.

Your Highness.

If...

If what?

Nothing.

It's late.

And you're drunk.

Go to bed early.

Sister.

Take care.

Okay.

Sister Yunying.

I'll leave now.

Your Highness.

Be careful

on your way back.

Don't worry, Sister Yunying.

Your Highness.

It's our fault. We're so sorry.

But you must believe

that His Highness still loves you.

He was really happy about you being pregnant.

He really wanted to keep that child.

Sister Yunying.

I don't want to think about what happened that day.

Everything that happened that day

and what everyone did

was just a nightmare.

Alright.

Your Highness.

Take care.

We'll wait for you.

Mu'er.

This is a gift from Her Highness.

Put it way.

Sister.

Was she here just now?

Tell me where she went.

Let me see her.

Shen Keyi!

Shen Keyi!

Shen Keyi!

Shen Keyi!

Shen Keyi!

Shen Keyi!

Shen Keyi!

Your Highness, what's wrong?

Find Her Highness.

Okay, find Her Highness.

You two, go over there.

Yes.

You two, follow me.

Yes.

[Virtue and Benevolence]

Shen Keyi.

Your Highness.

♫Lend me the stars so that they can be my companions♫

♫While I'm going through the long night♫

♫Lend me a lamp♫

♫To warm my lonely heart♫

♫Lend me some ink♫

♫So that I can draw a portrait for you♫

♫I've been missing you♫

♫There's so much to say♫

♫I'll ask♫

Your Majesty.

I want to declare a war against the North

and I need 100,000 soldiers.

Your Majesty, I have an objection.

Have you heard that

the former Princess Jin is living with Zhou Yu now?

If so,

Prince Jin will definitely kill Zhou Yu.

Right.

Your Majesty.

Before the war starts,

we'll need to repair the granaries at Pingyu Pass.

Your Majesty, I have an objection.

What is Zhou Yu doing?

Is he crazy?

Your Majesty, I think...

Your Majesty, I have an objection.

Urgency from the North!

Urgency from the North!

Your Majesty.

The Nomadic Tribes in the North

have been our threat for so many years.

Recently, they robbed several villages

claiming that they were looking for their lost sheep.

This shows that they want to start a war against us.

Your Majesty.

Please issue an imperial order to send troops to the North.

Please declare a real war against them.

Your Majesty.

I'm willing to lead troops to the North.

and restore stability in that area.

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

We need to be cautious about sending troops.

Our army is short of soldiers.

It's not a right time to send a lot of troops.

How about we continue to

take an approach of conciliation to the Nomadic Tribes?

Your Majesty, the approach of conciliation

will only make them more provocative.

And our people in the border areas will suffer.

Your Highness, leading the troops will bring you glories.

But fighting a war costs a lot of money.

Your Highness.

Have you ever thought about that?

As long as you don't appropriate the money,

I think

we have enough money to do that.

You...

Stop.

I know what you're thinking.

The North

has always been a big problem.

If the Nomadic Tribes go through Pingyu Pass,

the capital will be in danger.

This war

is inevitable.

But

the north border is long.

There will be many battle fronts.

All of them are equally important.

Prince Jin is called God of War, but we need another general.

So in our army

who can take the responsibility

to be the second general?

Your Majesty.

I'm willing to fight the war

and serve the state.

Good for you.

You deserve everything I gave to you.

Zuo Shuangzhi

is useless now.

What is she thinking?

Why is she willing to be put under house arrest by Wen Ye?

You may leave.

Your Majesty, I have an objection.

I'm willing to fight the war and serve the state.

Have you heard that

the former Princess Jin is living with Zhou Yu now?

If so, Prince Jin will definitely kill Zhou Yu.

Yes.

Wen Ye is determined to fight the war against the North.

Then I'll just need to find someone

who sees Wen Ye as an enemy in the army.

Then Wen Ye will definitely lose the war.

Imperial Order from His Majesty:

The border areas in the north are in chaos.

The Nomadic Tribes have been provocative in the border areas.

We now need to take action to show our power

and educate them.

I hereby appoint Captain Zhou Yu as general

who will assist Prince in fighting the war.

You shall show our power

and subdue them.

Wherever you go, my spirit is with you.

Hope you can fulfill your mission.

Respect it.

My sincere gratitude goes to His Majesty.

I won't let His Majesty down.

What is it?

Why can't you say it in front of her?

You really want to fight the war?

It's none of your business.

You think you're more high-powered than me

so you came to stop me?

If you really want to fight the war,

whatever I say in the court, you just object to it.

Why are you helping me?

If I go fight the war alone,

I won't rest assured if my wife is with you.

This is the reason?

I was wrong about you.

I didn't expect you to be so petty.

No one can take away

what belongs to you.

Then why do you want to fight the war?

I want to win glories.

I want to protect the state and her.

You need to prove you can do that by yourself.

The firewood I made

should be enough for you to use for many days.

You've chopped so much firewood. It's enough.

Let me repair the roof now.

Be careful.

Don't worry.

It's okay. Come down and have a rest.

You'll start off tomorrow. You need to have a good rest.

I'll be away for at least half a year.

I don't know when I'll come back.

There are only two women here. I'm afraid

you won't be able to take care of yourselves.

Then work hard and win the war soon.

Come back safely.

Will you wait for me to come back?

It’s okay.

When Wen Ye and I are away,

take your time to think about it. Trust me.

I will become

a real man like him.

I can give you

what he can give you.

I believe

you will be a great hero.

But...

Don't say "but" today.

Go.

Treat me to a nice meal before I leave.

Okay, let's have a nice meal.

Sister.

I'll start off tomorrow.

So I won't be able to attend your wedding.

I've requested an imperial order for you

so you can remarry now.

With it,

you and Wan can get married.

Even if those in marquis' mansion disagree,

they can do nothing about it.

Thank His Majesty.

Thank you, Your Highness.

Sister.

After I leave,

you must take good care of yourself.

Hope you'll recover soon.

Take care, Your Highness.

The battlefield is so dangerous.

You must be very cautious.

Wen Ye.

You always worry about others

and think for us.

These days,

you look fine.

Actually, you must feel miserable.

We are humans. We have feelings.

You don't have to try to be perfect all the time.

If you made a mistake, correct it.

If you want her back, go find her.

Life is...

Do not wait

until it's too late.

♫Lend me the stars so that they can be my companions♫

♫While I'm going through the long night♫

♫Lend me a lamp♫

♫To warm my lonely heart♫

If you made a mistake, correct it.

♫Lend me some ink♫

If you want her back, go find her.

♫So that I can draw a portrait for you♫

Don't wait until it's too late.

♫I've been missing you♫

♫There's so much to say♫

♫I'll ask♫

Buddha, bless us.

♫The moon to answer your questions for me♫

I pray for their safety.
