[The Substitute Princess's Love]

[Episode 10]

I like her.

She is my wife.

But you let her down.

That's our domestic affair.

Then why did you let her...

Brat.

Your Highness, don't be angry.

Don't be angry.

He knows nothing

but making people angry.

If he did something to offend you,

please don't blame the fortress.

This... This has nothing to do with us.

Father!

Brat.

Shame on you.

Well...

Shame on you!

Father, be gentle.

Shame on you!

-Shame on you! -Father!

Father, why are you using so much strength?

You're gonna twist off my ear. Let go of me.

How could you look down on your son's power

in front of others?

You have power?

Who is he?

He's a prince.

I think you're tired of living.

Stay out of their business.

Alright.

You've been a coward throughout your life.

I don't expect you to be tough.

But can you

not stop your son from chasing a girl?

You

can chase anyone you like,

except this one.

Why?

Just because he's a prince?

You fool!

Let me tell you.

He is the one who Miss Shen loves.

She usually

looks depressed.

But when she sees him,

her eyes sparkle.

See?

Nonsense.

She doesn't even want to talk to him.

You know nothing.

Let me tell you.

Being a couple is like practicing.

They are at the stage

of going through a calamity and ascending.

Be careful not to be struck

by thunder.

Enough.

You can just be a coward.

I must take her with me.

He will kill her.

You understand now?

You're so capable.

-You're so capable. You're so capable. -Well, Father.

Your behavior

will give me false fantasies.

Please don't tease me.

You are my wife.

Why would I tease you?

Your Highness,

I know I've committed a big crime.

I'm a substitute.

And I stayed in the Prince's Mansion just to steal the jade pendant to save my nanny.

You gave me a chance.

But I didn't tell you the truth.

I'm not qualified to ask for your forgiveness.

No matter how you want to punish me,

just do it.

I was deceived before.

Now I know

all this

is a conspiracy of the Shen family.

It has nothing to do with you.

But didn't you say

you'll kick me out in 1 year?

Let bygones

be bygones.

Come home with me.

And I won't mention the 1-year appointment again.

Your Highness, you are a good official

and a kind person.

But I'm not a beggar.

You don't have to accept me because you pity me.

A fortune teller said

I'm destined to remarry.

I didn't believe it at first.

Now it seems

it might be true.

Here, your dishes.

-Thank you. -Thank you.

Let me pour wine for you.

Thank you.

-Cheers. -Cheers.

Okay, thank you.

Come on.

Drink.

Again.

The wine is good.

Good wine with delicious dishes.

Fill it up.

Sir,

it's not enough to coax women just once.

You have to be braver.

I didn't know

she's been through so many hardships.

But now,

I want to apologize to her as if nothing happened

and ask her to forgive me for my absence.

Is it useful to apologize?

According to what you said,

it seems useless to apologize.

But

what if Her Highness won't come back?

I don't know.

And I don't know what to do

to make her happy.

Well...

This seems difficult.

Let me think about it.

Apologize.

Why are you sitting here alone?

I'm thinking about my nanny.

After I leave here,

I want to make a memorial tablet for her.

I'm also thinking about the future.

I don't know what I should do

after tonight.

Silly girl.

Stop thinking about it.

From now on, live for yourself.

Don't pin your hopes on others.

He doesn't deserve to punish you.

But he has the power.

If he wants me to live,

I can live.

If he wants me to die,

I can only struggle for survival.

I lost my nanny.

And I almost got you implicated.

If you want,

come back to the fortress with me.

We have wine

and meat. You can come whenever you want

and leave whenever you want.

You are who you are from now on.

That sounds good.

But I can't go with you.

Why?

Zhou Yu,

you are my good friend.

In the future,

I'll come to the fortress to visit you.

I want to see

what kind of place it is

to have a stone monkey like you.

I'm not bragging.

Our fortress faces south.

Its Feng Shui is great. When you come,

I'll prepare a special room for you.

When you open the window,

you'll be able to feel the wind and fog in the mountain.

And you won't want to leave.

Okay.

Miss Shen.

Auntie.

Come in and have some water.

Do you have a pen and ink

in your house?

Yes.

Come in.

[Letter of Divorce]

Let bygones

be bygones.

And I won't mention the 1-year appointment again.

Come home with me.

[The Middle Part]

Your Highness.

Your Highness,

I found that Commander Zhang is Madam Shen's trusted follower.

He wanted to inform her,

but I caught him.

What did Madam Shen ask him to do?

Madam Shen locked down Qiyu Village first

using the excuse of searching for the murderer.

Then she ordered Commander Zhang to deliver a bowl of poison

to Her Highness in your name.

Fortunately, the men of Tianhe Fortress protected Her Highness on that day,

so that she could be safe.

But

Madam Shen already has your jade pendant.

Evil woman.

I can't believe she did such a vicious thing.

Her Highness is pitiful.

It was life-and-death,

but she still wanted to protect your jade pendant.

No wonder.

No wonder she kept saying I wanted to kill her.

Your Highness,

has Her Highness left with Zhou Yu and the others?

[Letter of Divorce]

What are you doing? Put me down!

Let go of me!

Let go of me!

What are you doing?

Let go of me!

[Prince Jin's Mansion]

Let go of me!

Put me down!

Your Highness, you're back.

Yi Fu.

Yes, Your Highness.

Keep an eye on her.

Don't let her leave.

Young Master,

can we not go to the capital?

He's a prince.

We can't afford to mess with him.

Come on. Let's go back to the fortress. Come on.

Father,

I can't just sit by and do nothing.

I must get Ke back.

Fine.

Okay.

You can go out to make trouble.

If you die outside,

don't say you're from Tianhe Fortress.

Don't say that. I can't afford to be humiliated.

Don't worry, Father.

I'll chase my own girl.

I will never get the fortress implicated.

[Xingyue Pavilion]

Your Highness,

you should at least take a bite.

Your Highness.

Sister Yunying.

Your Highness,

these are your favorites.

Why haven't you eaten?

You suffered so much outside.

Now you're home.

How can you still make yourself hungry?

Listen to me.

Eat some.

He doesn't respect me at all.

He took me back forcibly.

I don't want to talk to him

or eat his food.

Are you a kid?

Can you hurt him by not eating?

You're the one who will suffer in the end.

Sister Yunying,

I don't understand

why he is doing this to me.

I did lie to him.

But why is he making me

a caged bird to torture me?

Silly girl.

He is your husband.

Why would he want to torture you?

No matter what happens outside,

you're still a couple.

He is definitely on your side.

Sister,

I also thought

that's what couples do.

But now it seems

the life in the Prince's Mansion

is really different from ordinary people's lives.

Do you believe him?

On what?

Do you believe he deserves your expectations?

Your Highness,

I think you have an answer

in your heart.

Your Highness.

Sister.

You're here.

Your Highness,

what's wrong?

Her Highness is back.

Why are you still like this?

In the past,

I made so many mistakes.

I can only try my best to make it up to her,

so that I can be qualified to be her husband.

But if you lock her up in Xingyue Pavilion,

her mood will only get worse.

You're a couple.

You can communicate

with each other to eliminate the misunderstanding.

Sometimes,

it's useless

to just say it out.

I will explain to her.

But not now.

The Shen family

did too many things behind our backs

to

hurt her.

And all the disasters

were due to our marriage.

But if you investigate carefully,

it will definitely

involve the thing of her being a substitute princess.

In the end, she will still be the one to suffer.

So I can't do anything to her openly.

But I must avenge her.

Only in this way

can I give her an explanation.

What about the jade pendant given by the late emperor?

It is still in the hands of the Shen family.

What if they use it to threaten you?

As long as she's safe,

nothing can threaten me.

Sister,

I have something to do. I have to go.

Right.

If you have time,

help me check on her more frequently.

He has a mouth.

Why won't he say anything nice to coax her?

[Virtue and Benevolence]

Yi Fu,

didn't you say

the prince would never fall for that girl?

What's going on now?

He actually mobilized his army without permission

to surround a village in the suburb of the capital just to find a woman.

Those who know

would think he did it for a woman.

Those who don't know

might think he did something treacherous.

Your Grace,

you misunderstood.

Actually,

His Highness didn't go there to save the princess.

He went there

because the jade pendant given by the late emperor was lost.

That's why His Highness led his troops to look for it.

Really?

Yes.

Actually,

His Highness has put the princess under house arrest.

Since His Highness came back this time,

he has never gone to see her.

Yi Fu,

you should know

what the consequence will be

if you lie to me.

I know.

Everything I said

is true.

If you don't believe me,

you can ask someone to investigate in the Prince's Mansion.

I'm not doing this

to harm the prince.

It's just that in the imperial city,

there are thorns everywhere. If he makes one mistake,

he'll lose everything.

Although he's not my biological son,

he has called me mother for so many years.

I need to protect him

when I'm still alive.

Yes.

Your Grace.

I understand.

All right.

Go back first.

If you are out for long,

the prince will be suspicious.

Yes.

I'm taking my leave.

Sir,

this is the clue Wan and I found.

Someone died because Madam Shen's brother

wanted to capture a girl.

The girl's father

raised some money

and planned to sue him.

But unexpectedly,

they stopped him halfway.

And they even took the money.

The rice shop run by Madam Shen's parents' family

maliciously monopolized the market

and raised the price willfully.

The people are complaining about it.

Besides,

Madam Shen's nephew

bribed the government

and replaced a scholar who passed the imperial exam.

He even locked this scholar up

and threatened him not to tell anyone.

Let's expose them together

and make it a nice gift to Madam Shen.

Yes.

[Shen Mansion]

[Ye]

Madam.

Madam.

Bad news!

Look at yourself!

You're not a newcomer in the mansion.

Don't you know the rules?

Tell me.

Your brother's case can no longer be hidden.

He has been arrested and is in the prison of the Ministry of Justice now.

Also,

the rice shop on Ji'an Street has been sealed up.

What did you say?

Madam.

Madam.

Your nephew, Li Wulang,

was also dismissed.

Master! Master!

Master, bad news! Bad news!

Something happened.

Master.

You have to help me.

Master.

What are you doing?

Why are you in such a hurry? Look at you!

Master,

my parents' family

has always been helping you.

Both families have always been

in the same boat.

Now,

because of your daughter who has become the princess,

my parents' family

is suffering so much for no reason.

Next,

Prince Jin will take revenge on me.

Master,

you can't just sit by and do nothing.

I told you before

you should be careful.

Now things have gone south.

What kind of plan is that?

It's full of loopholes. And now there are so many problems.

You're really shortsighted.

Back then, you silently agreed

to my plan of kidnapping her and taking the jade pendant.

Besides, regarding what happened to Shen Keyi,

did I do it for myself?

I did it for Shen Mansion.

Now I think

Wen Ye is not doing these things

to avenge his princess.

He is doing these things

because he wants to take back the jade pendant and he's coming for you.

Where is the jade pendant?

It's here.

[Ye]

Smash it.

Smash it?

This...

This was given by the late emperor.

If you smash it,

maybe Wen Ye can be heroic today.

But he can't be arrogant forever.

Dear,

we've come this far.

We have to take a risk.

I will protect you.

Your Highness,

in terms of Commander Zhang, we've found an excuse

and banished him to the border.

In this way, Madam Shen has lost

another capable man.

Also,

we found a servant

coming out from Shen Mansion.

According to this servant,

Madam Shen is vicious and violent.

Sometimes she would even abuse and kill servants.

One day around your wedding day,

Madam Shen sent someone to catch a woman

and beat her to death.

And this woman

is Her Highness's nanny.

I can't believe a woman can be so vicious.

Sir,

this case is a breakthrough.

It can bring Madam Shen to justice,

and it won't involve the identity of Her Highness.

Titled Madam instigated someone to kill someone.

Report it to the Ministry of Justice.

Yes.

Yi Fu.

Yes, Your Highness.

Your Highness, what can I do for you?

Has she

eaten today?

Her Highness didn't eat the food we delivered.

She built a small stone kiln in the backyard

to cook some refreshments and ate them.

It's good that she ate something.

Whatever ingredients she needs,

deliver them to her.

Yes.

Your Highness,

aren't you going to visit Her Highness?

[Xingyue Pavilion]

Your Highness,

every snack looks good and tastes good.

They are very unique.

Your Highness, you are amazing.

My nanny taught me this.

My nanny knew many things.

This is just a piece of cake.

Your Highness,

are you going to give them to someone?

I'm leaving.

Your Highness, where do you want to go?

My nanny died alone.

I made her favorite food.

I want to make a memorial tablet

in memory of her.

But...

His Highness...

Tao.

Don't tell anyone about this.

His Highness won't let me go.

I have to go secretly.

Are you really not waiting for His Highness?

He hasn't come.

I don't want to wait anymore.

If I pin my hopes on him

and if it ends badly,

should I blame him

or myself?

So,

if you want to do something,

do it immediately.

Otherwise,

it will become a regret.

This is almost done.

I was told

Her Highness usually lives in the east yard.

It should be here.

Ke.

The Prince's Mansion has so many guards. I can't break in.

But through my observation these days,

I found that the west wall of the backyard doesn't have too many guards.

It's done.

The guards change shifts between 21:00 and 23:00. You can escape.

I'll take you away.

Zhou Yu.

I like His Highness.

He is heroic and unique.

The misunderstanding between us has been eliminated.

I want to grow old with him.

Don't worry. Please go back. Shen Keyi.

She saw it.

She didn't see it.

[I like His Highness. He is heroic and unique. The misunderstanding between us has been eliminated. I want to grow old with him. Don't worry. Please go back. Shen Keyi.]

[Prince Jin's Mansion]

Your Highness,

my daughter was sick a few days ago.

Sorry to make you worried.

I'm

really worried.

So I brought some nutritious things.

Sorry to bother you.

Please understand

my feelings as a father.

She has married me.

She is a member in the Prince's Mansion.

Prime Minister Shen, you don't need to worry.

You should worry about your own backyard.

Some people are physically sick.

They will be fine after taking some medicine.

But some people are mentally sick.

It's not easy to cure them.

You're right.

I will discipline

the people in the backyard of the Shen family.

But look, Your Highness.

I'm old.

As the saying goes,

what happens in the family stays in the family.

Your Highness,

would you please give me face?

You only cares about face, right?

Your daughter has suffered a lot outside,

but you are indifferent.

Now you are only talking about family affairs and face here.

No wonder you have been promoted to a high position.

I wonder how many bodies you've stepped on ruthlessly.

Your Highness,

this sounds

nasty.

How could I not care?

Just because I care about my daughter,

I'm making pros and cons

clear to you.

I'm afraid if you get impulsive,

you'll lose

both face and dignity.

I'm a rough soldier.

I don't care about face or dignity.

But since Prime Minister Shen is here to apologize,

these worldly things

are far from enough.

You have to give up

what you should.

According to what you said,

I'm afraid

it will be difficult.

Since it's difficult,

please leave.

Goodbye.

Your Highness,

let me remind you.

Taking one step back

is good for both of us.

Goodbye.

Goodbye.

Your Highness,

I've handed over the witness of the nanny's murder case

to the Ministry of Justice.

But

he suddenly died in prison.

I'm afraid there won't be a conclusion to this case.

We finally thought of a way

to bring Madam Shen to justice

without hurting Her Highness.

Now,

I'm afraid all our efforts are in vain.

Don't be angry, Your Highness.

Prime Minister Shen deliberately came here today to remind you.

It means he doesn't have much confidence either.

This time, we gave him a warning.

Over the next period of time,

I'm sure he won't have the guts to do anything bad

to harm you or Her Highness.

Wan.

Yes.

Go to the street with Lady Yunying.

Tell her to buy a gorgeous dress

for the princess.

The dress has to be glittering

and eye-catching.

Yes.

You may leave.

Yes.

[Xingyue Pavilion]

Where are you going?

Your Highness, it's not your concern.

The guards change shifts between 21:00 and 23:00. You can escape.

I'll take you away.

Zhou Yu.

Let go of me!

Put me down!

Put me down!
