to do your job and bring me coffee and a doughnut?

So, eventually, at some point,

we had to ask Cate point blank,

"Do you even want this job?"

And the answer was...

Of course I didn't want the job.

What I wanted, and what I've always wanted

was to be on the air.

So they put me on,

uh... one afternoon,

from the booth, to banter with Ryan.

Yeah, and, oh, by the way, she-she bombed.

Yes, and I realized I had a lot to learn.

That instead of being so focused on where I wanted to be,

I should be ready when I got there.

So the next time that

I got the opportunity...

So, a couple years later, I'm at K100, and I had

the opportunity to pick a new co-host,

and I remembered Cate.

I remembered how she knew what she wanted,

and how she wasn't afraid to fail and try again,

and how she'd... she'd taken

the time to just step back and learn.

So I chose her.

That is why I wanted to work with her then,

and that is why I still do.
