but Lord Naga Trinetr was strict in observing the precepts

and only accepted the offerings.

Once again,

he kindly rewarded the Pailin villagers with gold.

Jhao Chang Phuerk ordered Ouakhum to stay and serve Lord Naga Trinetr.

She was to offer him an unlimited supply of food and liquor.

Yet again, Lord Naga Trinetr turned her down,

strictly observing the precepts.

Ouakhum used her charms to seduce Lord Naga Trinetr.

She got him drunk and immersed him in defilement,

desire and lust

to the point that he abstained from observing the precepts

that he had practiced continuously for hundreds of years.

As his faith waned,

the power of the third eye weakened.

When the poison took effect,

the great Naga

lost all his strength

and became powerless.

Jhao Chang Phuerk took this opportunity

to remove the Naga's third eye,

a beautiful sapphire,

and keep it for himself.
