Bro.

From the moment

my wife passed away,

there were only two things left

in my life.

First, it's revenge.

The second

is to repay your kindness.

So no matter what you want me to do,

just tell me.

You have to help me again.

Bro.

Do you know?

For the past seven years,

I've been like

a walking corpse every day.

But since the first time you came to me,

I've become valuable.

Thank you.

Lord Guan.

Please bless me

to get the money.

Lord Guan.

Are you trying to enlighten me?

Is he lying to me?

[TELL NO ONE]

[Episode 4: The Evildoer]

Bro.

Come here, Bro.

Come and have some tea.

Bro.

I have something to tell you.

I just met someone

who helped us

sell goods abroad.

He asked me if we still made banknotes.

If we make it,

he can sell it.

We can't do it, Bro.

Bro.

We're just

doing guard duty now,

not making much money.

The police often crack down on vice and drugs.

We don't have much profit to gain.

We can do what we did back then.

We will follow the same practice

you carried out with Boss.

We need the same batch of staff.

A raw material specialist.

A technician.

A salesperson.

It's not hard.

You don't understand, Bro.

Everything else is easy

but the ink.

The ink requires a special formula.

Why did Boss

want to make banknotes?

Because he found someone

who knew a special formula.

How can you find such a man now?

Why didn't I know

there was this person?

Was he also caught then?

No.

He ran away.

I've never seen him.

Every time he came with ink,

and left right after work.

Boss Liu was the one who contacted him.

Was he there at the last time?

Of course.

What would we print if he wasn't there?

Was he from China or abroad?

I don't know.

Stop thinking about it, Bro.

If we do that now,

we will face

the death penalty.

We finally

escaped.

Trust me.

We'll get richer.

Just in a few days.

You wouldn't lie to me, would you?

Hello?

Okay.

Bro, I need to go out.

Where are you going?

To meet a girl.

Be restrained, Bro.

Bro.

Think about the banknotes.

The ink maker...

Try to reach him.

Watch out!

It was too dangerous.

What's going on?

Look at that.

Is she sick?

Miss, are you alright?

Take a deep breath.

Deep breaths can relieve nervousness.

Do you need me to take you home?

What's your name?

My name is Chen Xueying.

My friends call me Xueying.

My name is Gao Hu.

Gao Hu.

Your name

feels very much like the impression you give.

It makes people feel safe.

Why did you get so scared

by a falling pot?

When I was young,

my mother...

She...

She...

She...

She...

Got it.

I got it.

I'm sorry.

It's okay.

I... I'm sorry.

Here.

Have some candy.

When there's sweetness in your mouth,

there's no bitterness in your heart.

Actually, something also happened...

When I was a kid,

I couldn't sleep all night.

I always had nightmares.

But then I figured it out.

They are all watching from heaven.

They'll only be happy

when we get through it.

So,

you...

You're an adult.

Why did you bring White Rabbit with you?

My sister loves it.

Gao Hu,

can I have your phone number?

Sure.

If anyone bullies you,

come to me.

Boss, I'm paying the bill.

Gao Hu, one number is missing.

Three, three.

Dad, I'm back.

My daughter is back.

Dad.

Great.

Look.

You scared me this time.

Does it hurt here?

No.

Okay.

Dad.

Let me introduce him.

This is Gao Hu.

He saved my life.

Sis.

Dongyu.

We found the Hornet 250.

It's 700 meters away

from the gas station on Sangtian Road.

The gas tank is empty.

I checked the license plate number.

It's the vehicle that was stolen last month.

There are four fingerprints.

Two fingerprints belong to the owner.

Look.

One is on the accelerator.

One on the seat.

The other two

belong to the suspect.

We can't see the pattern.

It's too blurry.

The Technical Department staff

have tried many ways

but couldn't find the result.

Obviously,

the fingerprints were destroyed.

He killed people so skillfully

and ran away.

It's definitely not the first time for him to do that.

Send this information

to every police station

and ask them to find a repeat culprit

who broke his fingerprints.

Yes.

Sit.

Please.

Sit.

Sit down.

It's okay.

Make yourself at home.

The first toast...

-Is to welcome my daughter home... -Dad.

I think the first toast

should be made to Gao Hu.

When I first

met Gao Hu,

he saved me.

This time, he saved me again.

Gao Hu.

I always caused you trouble.

Sorry.

Xueying, I’m glad you’re fine.

Thank you.

Mr. Chen.

Okay.

Dad.

Brother.

You have no idea.

Gao Hu and I are really fated.

He's just like me.

When he was young,

he had the same experience as me.

-Gao Hu... -Xueying.

It's all in the past.

Let's not talk about this.

Just take care of yourself in the future.

So what I want to say is

during this period,

I've thought it through in the hospital.

As for me,

only when I'm

with Gao Hu,

I'm happy.

So,

I

want to be...

Xueying.

I understand what you mean.

Gao Hu.

Welcome to Minghua Group.

You can start as a security team captain.

Let's take a step at it.

Okay?

Dad.

That's great.

That way,

I can see you every day.

Mr. Chen.

I'm doing quite well myself.

I'm used to being free.

I don't like to be supervised.

Thank you for your kindness.

Gao Hu.

Our group is really good.

Think about it.

Chief Li.

Come in.

Chief Li.

The ballistic comparison results are out.

Put it there.

[Examination of sample bullet heads and casings]

[Examination of on-site bullet heads and casings]

Come on.

Did you find anything

about the shooter?

The murderer rode

a stolen Hornet 250.

The owner just parked the motorcycle

in front of the supermarket a few minutes ago,

then the motorcycle was stolen.

He's just a motorcycle thief.

A habitual thief.

Do you need to ask me?

So,

you need to spend some time on him.

Okay.

What's your progress?

I tested Lei Naiwu today

about making counterfeit notes.

He refused.

He has been

contacting someone recently.

He said he would get a lot of money soon

and we didn't need to take the risk.

Who do you think

he is contacting?

You talked about counterfeit notes with Lei Naiwu?

Why?

When

Liu Qing and his gang were arrested,

a man who made special ink

escaped.

Who?

Has Lei Naiwu seen him?

He said he didn't.

Neither have I.

This person

disappeared everytime

he delivered the ink.

But if he was

at the crime scene,

he's most likely

to know the truth.

But I will

find a way to test Lei Naiwu again.

Okay.

Watch your strategy.

The ballistic identification results

from the Provincial Bureau are out.

The gun that killed Qin Yong

is the one six years ago.

The leadership has decided to establish a special task force

to merge the case of Zheng Ying's disappearance

for investigation.

Okay.

We've waited for six years.

We finally have a clue.

Now Zheng's case

has some clues.

I believe we'll be able to solve it soon.

For your safety,

I will apply to my superior

to change your job

and let you step back to the second line.

Master.

My dad's case

hasn't been solved yet.

You've been through too many

life-risking moments in eight years.

I have to give Zheng an explanation.

Are you telling me to give up?

To give up on my dad?

Gao Yang.

I’m your master.

You are my disciple.

I'm not discussing it with you.

This is an order.

All these years,

we haven't given up.

Dongyu and I are still

looking into your dad's case.

We will find out the truth.

Don't worry.

You want me to give up?

I've waited for 20 years.

I haven't slept well for a day.

If I don't solve my dad's case,

no one can stop me.

I believe you will remember

what Zheng always said.

Since we chose this uniform,

we can't be afraid of danger.

I have to live up to Zheng.

I have to live up to this uniform more.

Master.

If Zheng is still alive,

he will support me.

I won't give up

on both cases.

[1990]

You're here.

How is it?

The crime scene has been blocked.

What happened exactly?

The case happened about 9 p.m. last night.

According to the footprints

and traces left on the scene,

based on our preliminary analysis,

three people committed the crime.

They opened the door

on the rainy night

and sneaked into the Supply and Marketing Cooperative.

The victim, Gao Jialing,

was 32 years old.

At the time of the incident, he was stabbed

several times in the back,

abdomen, and back.

According to the investigation,

it was found that the financial ledger of the supply and marketing cooperative is missing.

We suspect it

to be a case of home invasion homicide.

The deceased exhibited

a strong will to survive until the very end.

He crawled several meters forward.

In the end, he was exhausted

and fell into the blood.

Dad!

His only son was left behind.

Dad.

His son has been

lying on top of him since last night

when he found his body.

His name is

Gao Yang.

Yang.

I know your name is Gao Yang.

I also know

you're sad

and you don't want to leave your dad.

But you should know

that lying on top of your father

like you are now

will destroy

any traces left by the killer.

For example,

fingerprints,

and footprints.

Without these traces,

how can the police catch the bad guy?

So,

let me ask you a question.

Do you want to catch the bad guy?

I do.

Okay.

Now,

I'll take you away.

Let the police

work early

so that they can catch the bad guy early.

Okay?

Good boy, come on.

Let go of that hand.

Yes.

Okay.

Come on.

Get up.

Who is it?

Dali.

It's Gao Hu.

Hu.

Long time no see.

You're out?

I've behaved well.

I need your help.

Hu.

I...

I miss you so much.

Wait.

Where have you been all these years?

I can't find you anywhere.

I served a prison sentence in another city.

You work here?

I'm making a living here.

Where's the boss? I want to buy a motorcycle.

Why do you have to buy one?

Which one do you like?

I can give it to you.

Can you afford it? You're just a part-timer.

Look at you.

Do you have a Hornet?

The Honda one?

I just sold one two days ago.

I guess

you'll have to wait two more days.

Who bought it?

I don't know him.

Call your boss out.

Boss.

This is my bro.

He wants to buy a motorcycle.

Which one?

Dali introduced me here.

Take a look.

You're someone Dali introduced.

Don't worry.

The price is negotiable.

Bro.

I want to ask you about someone.

My boss wants to find him.

It's personal.

We won't expose your information.

Don't worry.

My bro knows his place.

He won't cause you any trouble.

I don't know who that person is.

I only know he ordered another one.

I'll deliver it tomorrow.

Chief Li.

What’s up?

Has the results

of the ballistic comparison come out?

Has the gun from six years ago

also appeared?

Follow me.

Bro.

Look at the hair gel.

Bro.

Look at your hairstyle.

Does it look good?

Where's Hu?

He called me. He...

He sent the girl to the hospital.

To the hospital?

What is it?

I want to go out for something.

All right, I'll go by myself.

Take me with you.

It's the same.

Forget it. Don't go.

Stay at home.

Bro.

Take me with you.

I think it's good.

Bro.

The leadership has decided to set up a special task force.

[Assessment Report]

[Criminal Science and Technology Research Institute of Jiangdong Provincial Public Security Department]

They requested to combine the investigation

of the Qin Yong case with the disappearance case

of Zheng Ying six years ago.

Go ahead.

I know.

Be careful.

Gao Yang called me.

The suspect who killed Qin Yong

has appeared.

Dongyu.

Let's go.

Take some staff to arrest him.

Yes.

Sorry.

The subscriber you dialed

is busy now.

Please try again later.

Sorry...

Did it not go through?

Hello, Chief Li.

How long will we arrive?

Ten minutes left.

Faster.

Faster.

Lei Naiwu!

Bro, run!

Hurry!

Don't move.

Don't move.

Let me go now!

If you can't release me,

take me to the hospital.

I'm seriously injured.

How about you send me to the police...

Boss.

I was being brave.

Release me.

Li.

You may get out.

Yes.

Where are you hurt?

Relax.

The camera is off.

Be gentle.

Hang in there.

You almost died today.

You know?

Well,

that guy was really good at fighting.

If I were a little late,

Lei Naiwu would've died.

It's okay.

It's not my first day as a police officer.

It is the first day.

Alright.

I'm glad

you're fine.

But

you have to be careful in the future.

Do you hear me?

Chen Jingming, you're so cruel.

You want to kill me after killing Sanyong?

I won't let you off!

One of my men died.

He's just a kid.

If you play so hard,

I'll kill your family first,

then kill you.

Wait and see.

I'll make your life miserable.

Based on his ability and skills,

he shouldn't have been unable to kill

Lei Naiwu.

Someone capable must have

helped him.

Is it enough?

There's more if not.

I'm full.

You have a good appetite.

Do you do physical work for a living?

You didn't go home all night.

Don't your family worry?

Be quick.

You have to tell us

what your name is.

We have to go through the routine.

You won't surrender, will you?

Within 24 hours,

I will definitely find out who you are.

Guan.

Investigate someone for me.

Who?

Gao Hu.
