(Episode 3)

Please forgive me, Your Royal Highness.

What are you waiting for? Finish him off.

Your Royal Highness!

Your Royal Highness.

Your Royal Highness, you must pull yourself together.

Gap Seok, is it you?

Yes.

I will let His Majesty know right away...

and go fetch a physician.

No.

I must...

leave the palace.

Pardon me?

We must hurry.

Let me take you to the apothecary now.

No, I told you that I could not go there.

At the moment,

I cannot trust anyone.

I understand, but you must get it treated at once.

Oh, dear.

Sir.

If...

something happens, come back here.

I will be waiting.

I am telling you this just in case, so do not forget what I said.

Take me to Danpungmun.

Danpungmun?

Do you think we can sneak out...

without being seen?

I know there is a small hole dogs use to go in and out.

We must make haste.

It is here. This way.

Oh, no. Please be careful.

Where do we go from here?

Your Royal Highness.

Sir?

Who...

Sir, it is I.

You really were...

waiting for me.

Did your wound fester? Or...

You are covered in blood.

He has been stabbed.

- You must see a physician at once. - No.

I cannot do that.

Why not?

There is a reason I cannot tell you.

Could you...

help me?

Okay, please follow me.

Thank you.

Here, let me carry you on my back.

- Who is she? - I will tell you later.

Let us follow her.

Is she someone we can trust?

Your Royal Highness.

Master Lee.

Master Lee.

How is he?

He should be seen by a physician at once.

There is a clinic nearby. We should take him there for now and...

Did you not hear what he said? Well...

You heard him when he refused to be seen by a physician.

Then what do we do? Just leave him here to die?

The wound is one thing, but he already lost too much blood.

If we stall here, he certainly will not make it.

We do not have time to argue.

If you want to save him, we must take him to the clinic right away.

Oh, dear. What should I do?

Please wake up. Please.

Your Highness, are you all right?

I pricked myself with a needle. That is all.

You need not make such a fuss about it.

As for the Crown Prince,

we will find him soon, so please do not concern yourself with it.

I understand they are eunuchs,

but did they truly have to cause this situation...

for they could not finish him off when they outnumbered him?

I apologize, Your Highness.

The head eunuch said...

he was deeply injured. If he cannot find a physician,

he will not make it through the night.

Tell them to thoroughly search every clinic near the palace.

We must find the Crown Prince before the King does.

- Yes, Your Highness. - Your Highness.

His Majesty is...

The Crown Prince.

Where is the Crown Prince?

Why are you looking for the Crown Prince here?

What did you do to the Crown Prince?

Answer my question.

I am asking you what you did to him.

Calm down and take a seat.

Sit down and calmly explain...

Do you not fear the consequences?

Just to conceal your ugly secrets,

you dared...

to hurt the Crown Prince of this country?

Is this...

what you want?

Do you...

truly wish to go against me?

Hand over the Crown Prince.

Give up.

Give up on the Crown Prince,

and everything will go back to how it was in the past.

"The past?"

So, you will kill the Crown Prince...

and act as if nothing ever happened...

so that you can go on living as the benevolent and wise Queen Dowager?

I must say, you never cease to amaze me.

I understand you can do that,

but every time I see your face,

I will want to vomit, so I am afraid I cannot do it.

Watch your mouth,

or you will regret it, Your Majesty!

Who will regret their decision?

We shall take this to the end and find out.

Your Highness.

I am fine.

We do not know what he would do, so follow him at once.

Yes, Your Highness.

Listen, Chief Royal Secretary.

(Doseungji: Chief Royal Secretary, the head of the Royal Secretariat)

Yes, Your Majesty.

(Doseungji: Chief Royal Secretary, the head of the Royal Secretariat)

(Equivalent to the chief presidential secretary)

Go ahead and issue the chwigakryeong at once.

(Chwigakryeong: Emergency order issued...)

(in the face of political upheaval)

Yes, Your Majesty.

The chwigakryeong? Is that what you just said?

Yes, Your Highness.

So, it has come to this after all?

I wanted to prevent such a catastrophe at all costs.

You must stay strong, Your Highness.

Yes, I must.

I know that I am the only one...

who can protect him.

Summon the Royal Chef.

(Daeryeongsuksu: Royal Chef)

This sound is...

It is the chwigakryeong horn.

Something must have happened in the palace.

Bring me my court uniform at once.

They are sounding the chwigakryeong horn...

at this late hour?

Why did they have to sound the chwigakryeong horn at this hour?

Did the deposed king's remaining followers invade the palace again?

I hear the Crown Prince has been kidnapped...

by some scoundrels.

- "Kidnapped?" - Yes.

The Crown Prince was last seen in the East Palace,

but he has vanished without a trace.

It is possible he sneaked out in disguise again.

I agree,

and a number of other ministers think so too,

but according to the Chief Royal Secretary,

His Majesty is convinced that it is not the case.

I also heard...

His Majesty visited the Queen Dowager...

and raised his voice at her before the chwigakryeong was issued.

Do you know what this could be all about?

I must have an audience with His Majesty.

Where is he now?

Just stay alive.

I will find you, no matter what.

I will find you and keep you safe,

so please...

Please just stay alive.

Your Majesty.

The Left State Councillor and the ministers...

would like an audience with Your Majesty.

They may enter.

Did you not hear the chwigakryeong horn?

You should be waiting on standby in front of the flag now.

What brings you to the East Palace?

Your Majesty.

We heard you ordered them to sound the chwigakryeong horn...

because of the Crown Prince.

That is correct.

I understand that he is nowhere to be found at the moment,

but there is no evidence that he was kidnapped,

and I hear there is no witness either.

With all due respect,

I think...

he may have sneaked out in disguise again.

I am certain that is not the case.

I am convinced that the Crown Prince has been kidnapped.

Your Majesty, then may we know the reason...

you are so firmly convinced?

Understanding the reason...

will help us...

aid you in your search, Your Majesty.

I ask you...

to please trust my judgement for now...

and support me.

Well understood, Your Majesty.

Thank you.

Your Majesty, I have a favour to ask of you.

You may tell me.

The ministers and I will find His Royal Highness as soon as possible,

so I ask Your Majesty to please revoke the emergency order.

Hearing the sound of the horn all night...

and seeing the soldiers on the move...

might make the people anxious and keep them up all night,

so I am concerned.

Left State Councillor, I understand why you are concerned,

but I must ensure the Crown Prince's safety.

Your Majesty.

The chwigakryeong should only be used...

to declare a national emergency.

Your Majesty ought to revoke the order.

Please reconsider.

- Please reconsider. - Please reconsider.

That is enough!

The Crown Prince...

vanished in the palace.

If this is not an emergency, what is?

Tell me, ministers.

The Crown Prince of this country has gone missing.

Do you not think that it is an urgent matter?

However, Your Majesty, His Royal Highness is...

We will find him as soon as we can, Your Majesty.

I wish to be alone. Please leave, all of you.

The universe must have helped him.

Then is His Royal...

I mean, is my young master going to be okay?

I think he has turned the corner,

but he has lost a lot of blood, so we cannot be relieved yet.

Then what should we do?

Why? Where are you going?

Since we cannot reach out to a physician,

I should go and get some medicinal herbs.

I see. I will come with you, then.

You will leave him here alone?

I will be quick. Please keep an eye on him.

Wait.

You must not tell anyone...

that my young master is here. Do you understand?

Yes, well understood.

Oh, dear. What is with this mayhem in the middle of the night?

The Crown Prince must just be an excuse.

With all those rebels showing up,

I suppose the King wants to tighten discipline in the court.

Do you not find it strange though?

What is strange?

If it turns out that he sneaked out in disguise...

and was not kidnapped,

it will cause quite the stir, and His Majesty knows that.

Why is His Majesty so adamant about it?

I must say, I find it very odd.

The Queen...

might know what His Majesty is thinking.

How about...

you ask the Queen about it?

Your Highness, I brought you some snacks.

I told you. I am not hungry.

- Put it away. - Your Highness.

You did not even have dinner.

It is important you eat well...

to get your energy back at a time like this.

- You may bring it in. - Yes, Your Highness.

Are you all right?

- Are you okay? - Gosh.

Are you all right?

- Oh, no! - What happened?

Are you okay? Gosh, no.

- What should we do? - My goodness.

Your Highness!

Your Highness, please snap out of it.

Please calm down.

If you let yourself get distressed like this,

it will only fuel the chaos.

I apologize, Your Majesty.

I truly am trying to stay calm and keep my cool,

but my heart keeps pounding,

and I feel like I cannot breathe.

Your Majesty.

Her Highness the Queen Dowager is here.

She may enter.

My Queen, you need to calm down, so stay seated.

- However... - It is fine. Do as I say.

Where is Royal Physician Choi Sang Rok?

How come he is not here?

He was on duty last night,

so he left early today.

But now that the chwigakryeong has been issued,

he will be here shortly.

As physicians, they are as skilled as he is,

so you need not be concerned.

Because of the chwigakryeong,

all civil and military officials will assemble shortly.

You should not be here now.

I will look after the Queen, so you should go.

Oh, let me fix your belt for you.

What did I tell you?

I told you not to do anything,

did I not?

You are all dismissed.

I told you to get out!

Is the Crown Prince alive?

At the moment, he is.

But you know it all depends on how you behave yourself.

It may be a mere warning this time,

but I guarantee you that one of the people you care for...

will shed blood...

next time.

What does this all mean?

I do not understand...

what the two of you are talking about right now.

It is better for your own sake to stay in the dark,

so do not pry.

Your Majesty.

Head Eunuch, are you there?

Yes, Your Majesty.

Tell the Chief Royal Secretary...

to go ahead and cancel...

the chwigakryeong.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Are we good now?

You should have heeded my warning in the first place.

I will take care of the Royal Taster,

so you need not worry.

It seems that the Queen is in utter shock.

Just try to comfort your queen...

and calm her down.

What is this, some kind of prank?

He issued the chwigakryeong and cancelled it right away.

Who would take his royal orders after this?

His Majesty must have doubted it.

I am certain he did not even think...

that the Crown Prince would sneak out again...

after all that fuss the last time.

But he has done this so many times.

It truly is a big problem.

My point, exactly.

Do you not agree?

Did you want to see me, Father?

How is the Queen?

She took some medicine, so she will be okay now.

Anyway, what happened?

I kept asking Mother, but she will not tell me.

Is it something I should not know?

Come...

closer.

- That means Gun is... - The Queen Dowager must be...

hiding him somewhere to hold him hostage.

If not that, he must have fled.

I will go and find Gun at once.

You do not know where he is.

I will interrogate one of the people...

around the Queen Dowager in secret.

I shall interrogate the head eunuch first.

Hush.

What if the Queen Dowager finds out?

I told you...

to tame your fiery temper first.

I apologize.

We must ensure the Crown Prince's safety.

Do you not know that we must approach this matter very carefully?

Then what do we do?

We cannot give her the upper hand...

and do as she says.

We must find the Queen Dowager's weakness too.

Meet Royal Physician Choi Sang Rok...

and find out some information about the owner of the needle canister.

That person is the Queen Dowager's only weakness.

However, she can simply desert him.

Now that we know everything,

she will try to cut the tail off. Am I wrong?

Then she would have deserted him long ago.

And had that been the case, things would not have come to this.

The fact that she let it get to this...

means...

that he is very important to her.

- You are going out again? - Yes.

My lady.

Why are you being like this?

What if Lord Choi gets home?

That is exactly why I should head out before he gets home.

My gosh. This is driving me crazy.

Why? What is driving you crazy this time?

You said you pulled it off, and my father does not know.

That is right.

I barely managed to pull it off without getting caught,

- so if you go out again... - I will be back shortly.

- My lady, please. - I will see you later.

Wait.

You will go out like this?

Like I said, he thinks I am you.

Are you okay with the family seeing you dressed like this?

Oh, right.

Oh, perfect.

There.

This is better, right?

Just kill me before you leave.

I mean, I will die anyway,

so I would rather die by your hand than by Lord Choi's.

Oh Wol.

The thing is,

I did not get into the details because I did not want to scare you.

The truth is, that scholar has been stabbed.

Sorry?

Who did such a horrible thing?

Do not tell me Lord Choi did...

No, right?

No way. That cannot be, right?

I, too, hope that is not the case.

Then if that scholar dies,

Lord Choi will become a murderer.

That is right.

So I must save him for my father's sake.

Yes, okay.

You must save him.

I will come up with some excuses so Lord Choi does not find out.

Thank you.

So I just need to be home before sunrise, right?

Bye.

My lady.

No, please do not do this to me!

Do you not recognize me?

I am sure you do.

- What brings you to my place? - Your place?

So, you are Lord Choi's daughter?

Are you not here to see me?

I did miss you,

but from your name...

to where you lived,

you did not tell me anything about you,

so how was I supposed to find you?

I am here to see Royal Physician Choi.

Is he inside?

He returned to the palace because of the chwigakryeong.

Come back another time.

The chwigakryeong has been cancelled,

so he will return soon.

I must see him today,

- so I will wait for him. - You do that. Please excuse me.

Wait.

I understand men and women should stay separated,

but it is not like we do not know each other.

Since your father is not home,

it is only right that you tend to his guest as his daughter.

I am sorry. I am in a rush as I have somewhere to be.

She is still so cold to me.

But I now know where she lives,

so she cannot run away from me.

- A snakebite? - Are you all right?

- He got bitten by a snake. - A snake?

- Are you all right? - What happened?

- Look at this. - How did this happen?

- Look at the bite mark. - Oh, dear.

- A snakebite could kill you. - What should we do?

- What happened? - My gosh.

Your Highness.

How dare you!

Do you know who he is?

Put that dagger away at once!

A venomous snakebite left untreated...

could kill him.

The blood looks almost black, so it must have been a venomous snake.

- A venomous snake? - A venomous snake?

- My gosh. - Goodness.

What are you waiting for?

Go and get a physician. Hurry!

Okay.

I think I managed to stop the venom from spreading,

but you should stay still right here...

until the physician arrives, just in case.

Do you understand?

I was so focused on my studies today...

that I did not realize I got a paper cut.

Look, I am bleeding.

I am dizzy.

I would feel better if I could lean on your shoulder for a moment...

You need acupuncture.

Acupuncture? No, I do not need acupuncture.

I have a cold.

This will get rid of a cold, right?

Would you like some?

- You little... - Here.

This is the biggest one.

No, Seo Hee.

Open your eyes, Seo Hee.

Please.

How did you not know you were with a child?

But such a young girl did nothing wrong.

Why must she pass away like this?

I am sorry, Seo Hee.

What brings you to my house, Prince?

It has been a while.

Have you been well?

Yes.

You have been well as well, yes?

Yes.

Nothing can possibly happen to a man about town...

who has nothing to do but drink.

You joke too much.

That reminds me.

I met your daughter just a while ago.

You mean Myung Yoon?

Yes.

Father.

Why did you try to hurt such an innocent life?

Did you have to go this far?

You...

So it is you.

Do you feel better?

What about my company?

Where is he?

Sir.

Your Royal Highness!

Master Lee.

Are you all right?

My chest...

Oh, my apologies.

Luck was on your side. The dagger dodged your heart,

which saved you.

It was not luck.

They avoided his vital points on purpose.

What does that mean?

I only went there because Sang Soo...

I will inform you later.

I will go make some porridge.

How quick-witted.

Who on earth is she?

She is the servant of the family I got kidnapped by.

Pardon?

Why is she here?

That is not important right now.

How long have I been in bed?

It has not even been a day.

Where am I?

It is a kisaeng house.

"A kisaeng house?"

Who is he?

A lover you have hidden from your family?

Goodness, that is not it.

What will you do about the man who chased after you...

day in and out?

Who?

You know, the scholar who got bitten by a snake.

Oh, you mean that good-looking scholar?

All his efforts will go to waste.

You are right.

Sang Soo...

It was he who informed you?

Yes. Because Sang Soo gave me notice in advance,

I could save Your Royal Highness.

(Restroom)

(Emergency)

Please forgive me, Your Royal Highness.

I am alive, thanks to Sang Soo.

That is not true.

How dare he stab Your Royal Highness?

I will kill him if we ever meet.

Honestly, people like us...

must do as told by those above us.

It is just too obvious.

His family must have been used to threaten him.

So without a choice...

Shut it.

I got it.

Say no more.

Understood.

By the way,

should we not send word to Prince Dosung, at the least?

The moment he learns about this,

he will go straight to the Queen Dowager's quarters.

Do not do it. It will only make matters worse.

Is it not already worse?

Your Royal Highness has been stabbed.

How can it get any worse?

So what brought you here?

The Crown Prince must have shown you...

an acupuncture needle canister.

Do you remember?

Yes, I do.

That day,

I heard you promised to ask...

the Royal Infirmary who had lost it.

(Department and physicians working in the palace)

- So did you? - Yes.

It belonged to Physician Heo Jin Soo...

in charge of the Queen Dowager's quarters.

"The Queen Dowager's quarters?"

Yes. Is there a problem?

It is nothing.

By any chance, do you know where he lives?

My lord. You have a guest.

My lord?

My lord!

My lord.

Physician Heo is dead.

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty...

It seems he has taken his own life to protect the Queen Dowager.

I am worried about...

what she might do once she finds out.

Do not worry too much.

I, too,

have taken action in cases like such.

Through the Chief Royal Secretary,

I have sent a letter to the Training General.

If necessary, the Training General...

will bring his soldiers and wipe all of them out.

You have heard, yes?

Father has his own plan.

Do not worry too much, Mother.

How can I not worry?

It means there can be bloodshed in the palace.

There is a chance you and His Majesty might get hurt.

I am frightened.

I keep remembering the face of the court lady coughing up blood.

Why are you saying such weak words?

You have Father...

and me, do you not?

Mother.

I actually have a lady in my heart.

Is that true?

Yes, Mother.

Which family is she from? How old is she?

Mother...

Tell me at once. I am waiting for your answer.

What is the rush?

You did not like the daughter of the lord living in Pil-dong.

Nor did you like the Great Scholar's niece.

You refused all women, so I would have been worried.

I will send a matchmaker at once, and...

Mother!

What is it?

I did not tell you until now in fear you might act like this.

Let us settle the Queen Dowager's matter first.

Then, I will tell you in time.

You are right. The Crown Prince must get married first...

for you to get married.

What is the Crown Prince doing, and where is he?

I hope he is safe.

Why are you looking at me like that?

I did not notice last time because of the situation.

But I can tell you are trained.

When did you learn medical practices despite being a servant?

I simply learned by watching.

And stop calling me...

a servant. It is not pleasant to hear.

Then tell me your name.

I have no other way to address you without your name.

You know very well I cannot tell you.

Then...

May I give you a name?

Do as you please.

Your skin is as fair as snow,

so "Baek" that means white.

Your face is as round as the moon,

so "Gu" as in a sphere.

- Baek Gu? - Baek Gu.

How does Baek Gu sound?

Is it not perfect, Baek Gu?

Do you have a death wish?

Baek Gu, you foul mouthed soul.

You gave me the go-ahead.

That hurts, Baek Gu.

Baek Gu.

Baek Gu...

Anyway,

does this not faze you?

What do you mean?

You may not be an unmarried daughter of a nobleman.

(A gyusu of a banga: An unmarried daughter of a nobleman)

However, as a lady, you have been untying...

the ribbon of my shirt.

I am asking if that does not faze you.

I am a physician, and all that you are is my patient.

You may be a physician,

but I am more than just a patient.

I am Husband.

You are a relentless one.

Tenacity is a quality all men should have.

Do you not agree, Baek Gu?

That was a joke.

It was my way of expressing how sad I am to leave you,

so do not be angry.

Leave me?

What do you mean by that?

There is...

someplace I must go.

You are in no shape to move about just yet.

Your wound might fester and lead to serious problems.

I appreciate your concern,

but this cannot wait any longer.

I still advise against it.

I do not know what it is you must do,

but nothing is more valuable than your life...

which is why I cannot let you leave.

Even though the person I must meet...

is Royal Physician Choi?

Pardon?

Royal Physician Choi?

Should my condition worsen,

I am sure he will treat me accordingly.

Now that you know, may I leave?

No, you can never leave.

What?

Do you have doubts regarding his abilities?

Gosh. No, that is not it.

Well, if you are that worried about me,

you can come with me.

Right, I will...

Pardon?

Why do you suddenly seem flustered and out of sorts?

It is nothing.

You said it was urgent. You should get ready to leave.

I will leave you to it.

Their fates have gone awry.

If the Crown Prince lives, your daughter will die.

And if your daughter lives, the Crown Prince will die.

Is there another way?

This time around, I have no way to correct the situation.

All you can do is accept her destiny.

Give up on your daughter becoming the Crown Princess.

- I cannot do that. - Come on now.

If your daughter becomes the Crown Princess,

either she or the Crown Prince will die.

Do you not believe my words?

Nonsense. How could I not believe you?

However, the Crown Prince is a title,

not a certain person.

What?

Are you saying...

Anyway, it is a fact that you saved my life.

I am reluctant to bid farewell...

without knowing your name.

You will still not tell me?

We will never cross paths again,

so why would you want to know the name of this lowly girl?

You may know me as Baek Gu instead.

Fate brings people together in mysterious ways.

I hear those eventually meet if they are meant to cross paths.

There is no way of knowing...

if fate will have us meet again.

That will never happen.

There are some people...

who should have never met in the first place.

You have a busy day ahead of you.

You ought to leave first.

No, you should leave first.

Nonsense. I will leave after seeing you go.

Who cares if someone leaves first?

This is hardly something to drag out.

Then,

I will leave first.

Travel safely and take care of yourself.

Thank you.

I wish you safe travels as well.

It is time you went on your way.

I hear you, you brat.

Do not rush me.

She did not even look back once.

Only you seem to miss her.

Still, is it not a disgrace...

for a Crown Prince to fall for a servant?

Quiet.

Let us head out.

- My lady. - Tell me he has not arrived.

Yes, Lord Choi has not come home yet.

No, the young master. The one my people abducted.

Why would he be here?

Did you get caught?

- No, that is not... - Come forth.

He is here.

Oh, no.

Come forth.

Come forth!

We will be in trouble if we get caught.

What do we do?

Go to him and ask why he is here.

- Me? - Should it be me?

Of course it should be you.

But he knows my face.

You showed him your face?

You should have covered your face properly!

I had no choice since he already saw me.

Just go to him and ask why he is here.

Darn it.

The lady over there must be the future Crown Princess.

Dang.

Please come inside.

Sure.

They say acclaimed feasts having nothing to eat.

Her looks...

As if you have the right to judge people's looks.

I only say that because her reputation precedes her.

Come on now.

I am sure she has a heart of an angel.

Whatever you say.

The aroma is quite nice.

What kind of tea is this?

Pardon?

I only served what was given, so...

It is jakseol tea.

I had something urgent to ask Royal Physician Choi.

Do you know when he will be back?

Pardon?

Actually, I do not.

Please leave it be.

- Do not just sit there. - Pardon?

Oh, right.

Is there something you want to say?

Well, that...

Our male servant said...

you were here to meet my father.

May I ask what it is about?

The young master just told you.

He has something to ask Royal Physician Choi.

Where is my head at?

Of course.

You said you came by to ask my father something.

Could he know that he was abducted by this family?

The tea has been brewed nicely.

It has a pleasant aroma and taste.

Wait.

What is the meaning of this?

Are you out of your mind? Why are you in the lady's dress?

The young master you abducted is in the guest room.

Their fates have gone awry.

If the Crown Prince lives, your daughter will die.

And if your daughter lives, the Crown Prince will die.

Did you look into who owns...

this needle canister?

Yes, Your Highness.

Who does it belong to?

Forgive me for saying this,

but the owner of this needle canister...

has already taken his life,

Your Royal Highness.

It was Heo Jin Soo,

the head physician at the Queen Dowager's quarters.

Are you Physician Heo Jin Soo...

who examined the dead body of Jong Geum,

the court maid of the Queen Dowager's quarters?

That is correct.

It says you only conducted a preliminary examination.

Why was there no follow-up?

Her death was obviously suicide,

so I deemed it unnecessary...

to discomfort the Queen Dowager by further looking into the case.

That is why I did not continue with a second autopsy.

Goodness.

You do not seem well.

Maybe you should stay and rest.

I cannot.

I would not mind to rest, but there is something I must do.

Father.

Where are you off to this time around?

What did you just say?

If he lives, you will die.

He must die...

for you to live.

If those are the words of the master, I...

Whether you believe him or not,

I will do whatever I can to keep you alive.

Father,

how can you think of taking a life...

because of the words of someone who reads fates?

How will you pay for all the misdeeds?

A father will do anything to save his child.

That man is also someone's precious child.

He also has a father.

How dare you patronize your own father?

You have done enough.

Come on.

Did you think I was not aware...

of how you helped him escape and that you were together?

There is nothing more you can do anyway,

but it is time you kept your head down.

Until the bridal selection order is given,

you will stay home.

And the Crown Prince?

I handled him as ordered.

You will go back to him as day breaks...

and keep him there until I give the order.

Of course.

However, with me away from the house,

who will watch Lady Myung Yoon?

I strictly told her to stay put,

so I doubt we will have any problems for now.

Do you know where?

- Yes, my lady. - And my father?

He just left for the palace.

Darn it.

Stay put, will you?

I need to think.

Think about what?

We should at least try to fathom...

who could be keeping us here.

Must you think to know that?

Who else could it be but the Queen Dowager?

How could she know where we are?

She probably had us followed from the palace.

If that is the case, why did they make a move now...

and not at the kisaeng house?

Why did they wait until I met with Royal Physician Choi?

Of course.

They could have been watching Royal Physician Choi's residence.

How did they know I would go to see him?

That also makes sense.

What will you do with the Crown Prince?

He must be killed.

But His Majesty will see red.

Taking him hostage instead...

Have you already forgotten why we agreed to make Myung Yoon...

the Crown Princess?

Now,

for her to be the Crown Princess,

the current Crown Prince...

must die.

What is this?

Who are you?

How are you here?

We must hurry.

Let us go.

Who...

Who exactly are you?

Who are you...

really?

(Missing Crown Prince)

I am the man...

who has been in love with the Queen Dowager for many years.

I must at least know whose side you are on...

to follow your lead.

He now fancies the woman who will soon become the Crown Princess.

He cannot say no... when you tell him that you wish...

to make him the Crown Prince.

I helped him escape.

Where did you hide him?

My lady.

Is he here?

Here comes Lee Gun, the traitor. Tie him up!
