Mrs. Mai, what are you making today?

Today's dish

is crucian and tofu soup.

Listen.

After cleaning the fish,

fry it on both sides

until it's golden.

Then add hot water,

boil it on high heat,

and stew it on low heat later.

Cut the tofu into small cubes

and put them in.

Stew it

on low heat.

The soup

will be milky white

and very fresh.

Do you know what the greatest benefit

of this dish is?

What?

Increasing breast milk.

What are you talking about?

Increasing what?

Increasing...

Well,

they were increasing milk distribution on the street.

Right, distributing milk.

Right.

I'll distribute it. No, I mean, I'll make it.

Mr. Mai, Mrs. Mai, please take a rest.

Can you handle it?

I can, no problem.

You can just wait.

You've learned this?

I've learned it.

- Really? - Yeah.

Okay, then.

Make sure to fry it thoroughly.

Both sides should be golden yellow.

Okay, okay.

And you must use boiling water.

Okay, okay.

Okay.

Take your time with it.

Alright.

It's odd.

You do look quite cute in this.

Can you manage to cook this dish?

Crucian and tofu soup.

What's so hard about it?

The first step should be...

To boil water. Right.

How did you come up with the idea to cook this dish today?

This dish is amazing.

You'll know about it in the future.

In the future? About what?

This dish can increase...

Increase...

Milk distribution.

Milk distribution?

A child can't eat that much.

It's fine. If he can't eat it, then you'll eat it.

Do you think I'm not fat enough?

Mr. Mai,

you were really awesome in the courtroom just now.

Luo Mingli didn't even

get to say anything at all

before you beat him so easily.

Wait a moment.

Hello.

Okay, got it.

What's wrong?

Song Huaimin wants to appeal.

He...

Let him.

Let him appeal.

Anyway, we won the first trial. We're not afraid of the second.

But it will be a while before we can get Dingding back.

It's fine.

Good things take time.

It's really comfortable like this now.

We can finally eat the meal prepared by the kids.

Comfortable?

Comfortable.

It should have been like this long ago.

Haven't I told you?

Let go.

Tell them whatever you want to eat. Don't be shy.

I know.

If Zao brings a girlfriend here,

then it's perfect. I'll feel content.

Then call him.

Call him now?

Right.

No, don't.

What if he's busy? Let's not disturb him.

Zao is the least afraid of being disturbed.

You don't believe it?

Call him a few times.

Maybe he'll come back.

- Call him now? - Come on, call him.

Okay.

My mom.

Hello, Mom.

Zao, I have good news.

Your sister has started dating.

Really?

Fancy finding by sheer luck.

He's right under our noses.

Guess who it is? Yao Жи Мин.

It seems you are quite satisfied.

Of course.

Your dad is also quite satisfied.

Zao, I was thinking,

maybe you could come home this weekend?

The whole family could get together.

Mom,

I might not be able to make it this weekend.

I still have some work to do here.

That's okay. You should get to do your work.

No matter how busy you are with work, take care of yourself.

Make sure you're getting proper nutrition.

I got it.

Okay. Wait a minute.

You have to start dating now.

You promised me

to find a girlfriend soon.

I got it, Mom.

Did I hear someone next to you?

Who are you with?

A colleague.

Mom, I have something to do.

I'll talk to you later.

Do your things. I'm hanging up now.

He's busy.

Thank you, Mr. Yao.

(Work Card)

(Recorder)

Mr. Zou,

what on earth does Жан захирал want to do?

Miss Mai has been good to me.

She even helped to mend the relationship between me and my son.

If I repay kindness with ingratitude,

then I'd be heartless.

I've already told you,

there's really nothing going on.

It's just that my niece really wants to meet her idol.

Really, it's nothing.

This is the money you gave me last time.

I didn't bring all of it with me.

I'll give it to you next time.

You've spent quite a bit?

I will pay you back.

Mr. Yao.

You have

already accepted the money,

and it's been over a week.

If you really want to repay,

give me the principal plus 20% interest.

Isn't that usury?

Mr. Yao.

You can't say that.

Are you truly naive, or just pretending?

If it's not convenient for you,

I'll call Mr. Yao.

No.

Please don't call him.

Have some tea.

(Work Card)

(Жи Мин, Zhang Peisheng is gonna make a move against Xing'anli.)

(Why should I?)

After doing so many bad things,

you think you can

atone for your sins that easily?

If you really want to change

and get closer to him,

then show him your sincerity.

Then just have a meal together.

You have nothing to lose.

Mr. Yao, he'll go.

To get along with children,

you have to respect each other.

If you want the joys of a family,

well,

then you, as a parent, need to act the part.

Don't just act on your temperament.

(Otherwise, isn't it just making trouble for the kids?)

Sorry about that, sir.

We have a short circuit.

It'll be fixed shortly.

What happened?

How can such a hotel suddenly have no power?

Sorry, sir.

We have a short circuit.

It's will be fixed shortly.

We're in the middle of a meeting. This is causing much trouble.

My apologies, sir.

The power just went out.

The air conditioning, appliances, and internet are all down.

Why did this suddenly happen?

Have you found the fault?

I've sent the maintenance staff to investigate.

The wiring in our hotel is extensive and complex.

This area is undergoing municipal maintenance recently.

Everything stopped at once.

You have no idea where the problem actually lies.

Inspection and repair are underway now,

and they all require time.

So what should we do?

The hotel guests can be appeased.

But the delegation is already on the way.

Ziyu.

Have you picked up the delegation yet?

Yes, I have. What's the matter?

There is a fault with the hotel's power system right now.

I need you to help me stall a bit.

Okay.

I can have the driver take a detour around the Bund.

But at most, we can only stall for about fifteen minutes more.

That means we only have half an hour

before we arrive at Xing'anli.

Thank you. Let's try our best.

If it's still not fixed by the time the delegation arrives,

our hotel's reputation will be ruined.

Mr. Cui, can the maintenance staff hurry up?

They're already expediting it.

Mr. Yao?

It's sabotage.

Mr. Yao.

What do you mean by that?

Go check if there is someone

wearing a work card with blue lanyard.

Perhaps it can help you find the location of the fault sooner.

Mr. Yao, what are you talking about?

I'll explain it to you later. Go look for that person first.

Okay.

Mr. Cui,

go find the security right now.

Have them pinpoint the source of the accident.

And,

find this person.

Alright, let's go.

I'll go with you.

Mr. Yao, please come in for a moment.

I need you to explain this.

What's the deal with the work card?

It's... It's Zhang Peisheng.

She said she could help me get Xing'anli back.

I agreed in a moment of indiscretion.

But the more I thought about it, the more I felt something was wrong.

Then she started threatening me.

Out of fear, I agreed to get her the work card.

But I was wary.

I replaced the lanyard of that work card

(with a blue one.)

(I'm thought that if something happens,)

you can find the culprit.

And

I recorded her secretary threatening me.

Чөн Хуань,

I'm sorry.

I didn't expect to cause you such trouble.

Now is not the time to assign blame.

Let's find a way to solve the problem.

Чөн Хуань.

Чөн Хуань, we've found it.

The line was indeed sabotaged from the inside.

I've organized people to make emergency repair.

Due to the extensive damage,

it will take about one hour.

Although that man hasn't been found,

we've checked the CCTV and called the police.

I heard from Ziyu

that the delegation will arrive in fifteen minutes.

Fifteen minutes... One hour....

That means we need to stall for 45 minutes more.

That won't do.

The delegation's information

was submitted early in the morning.

We have already made the room cards.

The front desk has no reason to stall that long.

Чөн Хуань,

what should we do?

If Жи Мин finds out, he'll definitely be mad at me.

Mr. Yao,

let's prepare another cigar and red wine tasting salon

for the guests. How's it?

We can talk to them about the history of Shanghai

and the stories of Xing'anli,

just like last time.

I...

Can I do it?

Do you still trust me?

Mr. Yao,

do you consider me as your family?

Or rather,

do you consider Xing'anli as your own home?

Of course.

That's great. I feel the same.

Then let's introduce our home

to everyone, shall we?

Good, then

I'll go prepare.

Mr. Cui.

After the delegation arrives, please escort them to the garden.

Mr. Yao and I will greet them.

And

notify me immediately when the power is restored.

Okay, I'll arrange it.

Thank you.

(Not bad.)

(Everyone, this way, please.)

Watch your step.

The air is also very good.

Yes, the environment is nice.

Everyone is welcome to look around.

Everyone, this way, please.

Miss Mai, our General Manager.

Hello.

Hello, everyone.

Hello.

I am Mai Чөн Хуань, the General Manager of Xing'anli.

Welcome to Xing'anli Hotel.

Before checking in,

we have organized a special welcome ceremony for you all.

Today, we have invited a special guest,

Mr. Yao Renfu.

He is a long-time proprietor of Xing'anli,

and also my family.

Today, everyone will enjoy red wine with cigars

while listening to him recount the tales of Xing'anli

and the history of these old buildings.

Mr. Yao.

Come on, this way, please.

- Over here. - This way, please.

Come on.

Everyone may take a seat. Please feel free to be seated.

Hello everyone, my name is Charles.

You can call me Charles Yao.

I am a standard Shanghai

Old Gentleman.

In 1925...

No, I went to Switzerland more than 25 years ago.

If you ask me,

what I've missed the most all these years abroad,

it is home,

my Xing'anli.

The Xing'anli of those days

was a well-known time-honored brand far and wide.

Look at those old houses behind you.

These old houses are even older than I am.

Let's get back to the point.

Mr. Yao has really been fantastic today.

Yes, back to his own home,

it must be the most comfortable and natural.

It's said that the burning ash is white as snow,

and the tobacco roll is like a cigar.

Чөн Хуань.

The circuit is restored.

That's great.

Alright, everyone.

I grew up here.

My son also grew up here.

Do you see that tree?

It was planted by my son back in the day.

It even has his height marked on it for each year.

In my 20 years abroad,

not a day went by

that I didn't miss my hometown.

Therefore,

I hope that everyone present

will come and visit often in the future.

Come and see.

Come and experience it.

I wish everyone

a wonderful stay here.

Later, when you check in, you can have a taste.

Miss Mai,

you've really done a great job with the event.

We're all looking forward to the upcoming itinerary.

Thank you.

I'll have them take you in to check in.

Okay.

Duoduo.

This way, please, everyone.

This way, please.

Come this way.

Everyone, this way.

Come this way, please.

I'll take everyone to check in.

Miss Mai, I did okay today, didn't I?

Outstanding.

If it hadn't been for you today,

it surely wouldn't have gone so smoothly.

Thank you, Mr. Yao.

I'll go take care of the guests.

I'll come to find you later.

Yao Renfu.

Yao Renfu!

- Жи Мин. - What are you trying to do?

Do you feel you haven't harmed me enough?

Do you also want to harm Mai Чөн Хуань?

No.

Why did you contact Zhang Peisheng privately?

- Let me explain. - I don't want to hear it.

You will never change.

You're always like this.

Why?

I once had a little bit of hope for you.

Now I feel you truly don't deserve it.

For your entire life,

you can't do anything good.

It's not like that, son.

Don't call me that.

Do you know what the biggest misfortune of my life is?

It's being your son.

Жи Мин!

Don't blame him anymore.

If it hadn't been for him today,

this event wouldn't have gone so well.

Let's take care of business first.

Go find Zhang Peisheng.

Yao Renfu,

I'll come back for you later.

Чөн Хуань is back.

Ms. Peisheng.

Жан захирал, long time no see.

Do you need me for something?

Aren't you receiving important clients for a tourism festival?

Aren't you busy?

Busy, yes.

Busy putting out fires.

Your hotel has just started.

You don't have much experience.

Accidents are inevitable.

Why not consider collaborating with Yueda?

Жан захирал,

the food poisoning incident at Xing'anli

was orchestrated by your man, right?

What are you talking about?

Ms. Peisheng,

I'm very grateful to you

for referring me to Botticelli

when I graduated from university.

During those seven years,

I've learned how to treat clients sincerely

and create the hotel like it's my own home.

Later on, my grandma also taught me

to treat each partner with sincerity.

I've brought this philosophy to Xing'anli.

I'm very fortunate.

I've gained a group of lovely friends.

They've also made Xing'anli their home.

In my most difficult moment,

they offered a helping hand.

I didn't pursue your previous malicious slander

on Xing'anli

and the competition.

But this time,

you took advantage of my family

and caused trouble at my most important reception event.

You have crossed my bottom line.

So this time,

I can't forgive you anymore.

There were problems with your reception event.

What's the use of coming to me?

How did you know there was a problem with my event?

Not only did the delegation check in smoothly,

but they also had

a pleasant story sharing session.

Do you know who the speaker was?

Yao Renfu, Mr. Yao.

Zou Nan, come in for a moment.

He can't make it anymore.

Жан захирал Peisheng,

we suspect you of abetting the damage to others' property.

Your assistant Zou Nan is suspected of extortion.

We've asked him to assist with the investigation.

Now please come with us.

Do you have any evidence?

The work card my dad gave you

is actually different from the ones for Xing'anli.

The police have found the person who damaged the circuit.

He has confessed to everything.

There's more.

When Zou Nan threatened my dad,

my dad recorded it.

Although my dad isn't great,

he's not stupid.

Жан захирал, please come with us.

I can cooperate with your investigation.

Just wait a moment.

Let me get my things in order.

Otherwise, it will be chaos.

No need to arrange anything.

I've taken over

your work,

Жан захирал.

Please.

Жи Мин,

those words you said to your dad today

were a bit too much.

If Mr. Yao hadn't been there today,

there's no telling what would've happened.

What does that mean?

Your dad

helped us find the person who caused the damage.

He also helped us buy some time.

You've misunderstood him.

He was also used by Zhang Peisheng.

I know,

when you were little,

you were hurt a lot.

These wounds

are not something that can just be simply forgiven.

He indeed wasn't a good father.

But after so many years,

he has also paid the price for his actions.

He has also recognized his mistakes.

I can tell

that he's trying hard

to change this time.

He wants to

make up for the love

you once missed.

He also wants to find the home he once had.

Жи Мин,

do you want to

give him another chance?

Mr. Yao.

Yao Renfu.

Where did he go?

He must have bought them for you.

I'll give him a call.

Don't worry.

(Жи Мин)

(You will never change.)

(You're always like this.)

(I once had a little bit of hope for you.)

(Now I feel you truly don't deserve it.)

(For your entire life,)

(you can't do anything good.)

(Жи Мин)

It's alright. Don't worry.

Maybe he just went out for a walk and will be back soon.

He must be afraid I'm gonna scold him,

so he doesn't dare to answer the phone.

I'll give him a call.

Mr. Yao.

Mr. Yao, where are you?

I...

Mr. Yao, you don't need to be afraid.

The matter has been resolved.

The person extorting you has been caught.

But Жи Мин said

he'd come back later for me.

You actually believe what I said?

Жи Мин?

It's fine now. Come back.

What did you say?

I said it's all right. Come back.

Okay, I'm coming back now.

Where are you? I'll come to pick you up.

No need. I'll be there soon.

Okay.

I plan to

apologize to him in person later.

I called the car.

One second. I'm just across the street.

Are you the family of Yao Renfu?

Yes, officer, we are.

He's under resuscitation.

Okay, thank you.

Don't worry.

Officer,

what's the situation now?

Still not sure. Wait for the doctor.

Then, how long has he been in there?

Almost an hour now.

Thank you.

Don't be nervous. It's going to be okay.

Don't be nervous.

How is it?

He was in serious condition.

We've done our best.

Sorry, but we couldn't save him.

The driver responsible has been detained.

If necessary, we will ask for your cooperation in the investigation.

These are his personal belongings.

You can take them after signing.

Our condolences.

Жи Мин.

Жи Мин, you...

Don't scare me, Жи Мин.

Жи Мин.

Жи Мин.

Жи Мин.

Please wait a moment.

There are still some procedures.

I-I'll do it.

Son,

look what I brought you.

Two bottles of fine wine.

It's the last of my savings.

We, father and son, must have a good drink tonight.

(It's the real deal this time)

(Where did you buy this?)

It looks fake at a glance.

Waiter!

Hello, what do you need?

Bring the liquor I've stored.

Okay.

(It's the real deal this time)

(He indeed wasn't a good father.)

But after so many years,

he has also paid the price for his actions.

He has also recognized his mistakes.

I can tell

that he's trying hard

to change this time.

(So, I've come back)

(to apologize to you sincerely.)

What if you could forgive me?

Жи Мин, are you alright?

(Жи Мин)

Жи Мин, all matters at the hospital have been settled.

If you need anything, just call me.

I'll be right outside.

Hello, is this Mr. Yao Renfu?

I'm from a wealth management company.

I currently have a very good investment project.

Would you like to know more?

Hello? Mr. Yao, are you listening?

Mr. Yao?

He's dead.

Who is this?

It looks like Huan.

It's Huan, isn't it?

Huan.

Huan.

Huan.

Huan.

Huan.

Why are you sitting here?

Fell asleep?

You've been here all night?

Get up first. Come on, get up.

Quick, get up.

Where's Жи Мин?

Sleepy?

- Where's Жи Мин? - He's inside.

How is he doing?

He wanted to be alone for a while.

So I didn't go in and disturb him.

No, that's not okay.

How can he stay alone?

And for so long?

He hasn't come out? Hasn't eaten or drunk anything?

No.

This is serious. He must be very upset.

After all, they are father and son.

What if he suddenly can't get over it and do something?

No, I have to call him out.

Knock on the door.

Wait a minute.

Ming.

Ming, open the door. It's me.

Please open the door.

There's no sound. Could something have happened?

Ming!

Ming, it's me. Please open the door. Are you there?

Ming!

Bang it!

Mom, I have a room card.

Right, the room card.

This way.

Ming.

Are you alright?

I will get some water for you.

Ming,

I'll get you something to eat, alright?

Ming,

I know you're sad.

But those of us who are alive

must continue to live our lives well.

We should eat and drink when it's time to do so.

You can't go on not eating or drinking

like this.

We are worried about you.

I want to be alone for a while.

Alone?

That won't do.

It's too dangerous to be alone.

You might starve to death.

Go back with me.

Eat something. Live your life.

Be good, Ming.

- Yu. - You...

Жи Мин,

look at you now.

If you don't eat or drink,

your body will break down.

You're still young.

There are so many things waiting for you to do.

How about this?

If you won't eat or drink, our whole family

will also do the same

and keep you company, alright?

We won't disturb you either.

Yu,

we'll wait at the door.

If he doesn't eat, we won't eat either.

If he doesn't drink, we won't drink either.

Let's go.
