rulers and subjects,

to take a solemn vow

to reject and boycott all foreign goods
from this moment on

and accept only lndian goods.

Until now our rulers
have blocked all our attempts

to develop our own resources.

We have been forced
to buy their foreign cloth,

and their foreign sugar.

how many everyday items
are being made here?

the big foreign stores in Calcutta.

They enjoy staggering prosperity
and a profusion of goods.
