So in the late 1960s,

Gianna and Franco Balzerini
purchased this land

for just $3,000,
and after realizing

that they were sitting
on a plot of land

that was perfect
for growing grapes,

they decided to give
winemaking a shot.

So then they invested
all of their savings

into the land,
and Merado Vineyard

is still making local wine
to this day.

And we have won
countless local awards

for the past decade
for our wines,

but most proudly
and most recently,

we have just gained
national recognition

for our very popular pinot noir.
