So, why don't we start by you telling us

why you've chosen to do this interview.

- Great question. I really
don't know. (chuckling)

I think that I'm doing this interview

mainly because so much
has happened recently

and I really don't know the best way

to divulge that information,

so I figured why not
try a sit down interview

and see how that goes?

- [Interviewer] Well, how do
you think it's gonna work out?

- Like I said, I don't know,

but we'll find out soon enough, right?

- [Interviewer] So it should
be known that you hired me

to do this interview, correct?

- Right.

- [Interviewer] So where
would you choose to start?

- I've thought about this.

I think we should start
with the manifesto.

- [Interviewer] And what is that?

- Well, it's a tape.

And it's kind of like

the other tapes we received but it's...

Am I allowed to talk
about the other tapes?

- [Bob] Just make it pretty.

- Well, it's like the other tapes,

but it's an actual manifesto.

And it goes into details

as to why he created this
whole game where he is...

How should I say this?

You watch me on this, Bob.

It goes into detail as to
why he created this game

and how he's not just a killer,

but he is like a chooser

of those who live and those who die.

- [Interviewer] So is it
some kind of God complex?

Do you think that's what it is?

- We don't know that yet,

but it's become very evident

that everything leading up to this point

has been on purpose.

That everything down
to the smallest detail

has been meticulously
thought out well in advance,

quite possibly years in advance.

And it's become the most clear

that the only way this
guy's ever gonna get caught

is if he chooses to be.

And based on his manifesto,

I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Well, I'm back, unfortunately.

Turn the camera back
on because as you know,

some (beeping) has gone down.

So this is where he was
standing in my house,

April 4th, 2022, right here.

Watching me sleep on my bed over there.

But that's not all that
happened, you know,

when I saw him standing over
here on the security footage,

I went to go and check
the security cameras.

But unfortunately, nothing
recorded after that instant.

So I was like, that's too coincidental.

How is that possible that
all that footage disappeared?

Well, I found out and it's
pretty (beeping) disturbing.

So this is the email that I got

from the manufacturer
of my security system

a few weeks before this guy broke in.

"Dear Value customer,

due to recent security updates

with our cloud-based recording system,

we are requiring all users to log in.

Failure to log in

will result in possible
service interruption

and/or termination of your
cloud-based subscription.

We appreciate your cooperation

and apologize for any inconvenience.

Please follow the link provided

to ensure no loss of service."

Which I did.

I did what they wanted

because I paid for this service monthly

and I didn't wanna lose it.

So I did exactly what I was
instructed and I logged in.

The only problem is they
never sent me this email,

and I know that 'cause I
just checked with them.

So he sent me this email
and this login link is fake.

He phished for my username and password

and I gave it to him.

But why is that bad?
What can he do with that?

Well, he can watch my camera
feeds at any given moment.

He can actually lock and
unlock my front and back door.

I gave him the keys to my house

all because I'm a moron.

Something most of you
already know right now.

Now, if anybody's watching
this and asking, you know,

"Why are you conveniently
filming all of a sudden?"

And I'm like, well, there's a
reason I'm about to show you.

I haven't said anything yet.

This is what I found in my closet door.

Keep in mind, he was standing
right here looking at me,

and then all the footage
after that doesn't exist.

However, I found this this morning, look.

(suspenseful music)

And at first I didn't know
what it was, obviously.

And then I was like, there's words on it.

"Wherever you go, there you are.

Back on track, you're not that far.

Away from your goal, don't be distraught.

The remaining victims of
whom you have sought."

And then it says, "As the crow flies."

I'm taking it off.

(suspenseful music)

All right, let's open it up.

Oh, there's a...

Oh, (beeping) I just noticed this.

I just turned it over. There's
something on the other side.

So shortly after I opened the bag

and pulled out whatever this thing is.

And as you can see,

it's made of wood and has a
red ring around the outside.

Also on the front, it
has an arrow at the top,

a bird and a compass direction.

So that's when I decided to
take high resolution photos

and 3D scans to send at
Ramey down in Florida.

However, that's when I noticed something.

You may remember in the previous film

when I found this puzzle in a mailbox

located in the woods
near the Lightfoot house.

Well, what I realized

is that the two clues
share the same shape.

And not only do they share the same shape,

they're in fact the exact same size.

And not to mention

that they both make a reference to a bird.

But then there's a compass
direction at the bottom.

And you can point in that
direction all day long,

but you don't know where to start.

And that's what's missing
from this whole thing.

So I'm hoping that
somehow we can figure out

where the starting point
is for this direction.

Hey, hold on. I'm getting into my car.

Hold on one second.
- Okay.

- Okay, so what is it?

- [Ramey] We received a
suspicious package this morning

and inside was an audio cassette tape.

- Is it like the other one?

- [Ramey] It looks very
similar to the other tape, yes.

- Hey, let me call you
back when I get home, okay?

- [Ramey] All right.

- All right, I'll call you right back.

- [Ramey] Bye.

- So this won't make sense to anybody

unless I back up for a second.

What I'm about to disclose
wasn't disclosed to me

until well after my last
documentary release,

so I'm sorry if this is
confusing in any way.

So we have to go back

to when they found Susan
McAllister's body on April 3rd.

One of the investigators
notice a cassette tape

sitting in one of the victim's pockets.

When they pulled it out,

there was a label on it that
read "Tape number one," okay?

Now I don't know what's on this tape

because they never let me hear it.

However, flash forward to today.

Another cassette tape arrives
in the mail to the department,

this time with a label that
reads "Tape number two."

And now apparently

they're just so confused
about these mysterious tapes

that they've resorted to ask
it for my help. (chuckling)

All right, I got you.

Can you hear me?

- [Ramey] Yeah.

- So, you know, I never heard
what was on the first tape.

The tape you found on
her. I never heard that.

- [Ramey] Well, I just
sent it to your email.

It should be in there.
- All right, I got it.

I'm recording. Can I play it?

- Sure, go ahead.
- Okay.

- [Man On Recording] This is
a test to see your capability.

If you pass this test,

you'll be met with another
for further down the road.

- What the hell was that?

- [Ramey] I know, right?

- I gotta play it again.
Hold on one second.

- [Man On Recording] This is
a test to see your capability.

If you pass this test,

- I don't know. Is that it?

- [Ramey] Yeah.

- That's all that was on the first tape?

- [Ramey] Yeah, that was everything.

- So what was on the tape you got today?

- [Ramey] It was the exact
same recording actually.

- That can't be right, man.

- [Ramey] Why?

- You must be missing something.

There has to be a difference
between the two tapes.

Why would he present us
with two of the same tape

and then label them differently, right?

I have a question.

How did you conclude

that there's no difference
between the two tapes?

- [Ramey] Well, I listened to them.

- Wait a minute, man.

Who analyzed the tapes?

- [Ramey] Nobody.

- You're telling me that your conclusion

that these two tapes are the same

is because you listened to
them and they sounded similar,

so they must be the same tape?

- [Ramey] I don't understand.

How else would you determine

if two tapes were different or the same?

- Oh my gosh, man.

- [Ramey] What?

- Oh my gosh.

- [Ramey] What is it?

- So to explain this really fast,

which is something a lot of
people never cared to realize

is that audio cassette tapes though analog

can still hold data,

data that can be hidden
within the audio itself.

And the easiest way to find this data

is by converting the audio
into a digital waveform.

One of these funny looking things,

which allows a computer
to easily spot differences

between two similar recordings.

Listen...

- [Ramey] Stop laughing at me right now.

- We have to hang up right now,

and you have to mail me those tapes.

I'll sign whatever documents you need,

but you have to send me
those tapes right now.

- [Ramey] I don't understand.

- Well, that's the problem.

You don't understand how
to properly determine

if these two tapes are different.

And that is something I do
know how to do actually.

- [Ramey] I just don't know.

- I just, dude, you gotta trust me.

- [Ramey] When do you want them?

- Overnight them. I'll
be here to sign for it.

So considering my deputy
privileges were still active,

the only document that made me sign

was one that held me legally responsible

in the case that the
tapes were lost or stolen

while in my possession.

So I signed and returned that document.

Then the following morning
was met by a courier

who delivered the mysterious tapes.

So here we are.

I got the package, gotta open it up.

All right.

Wow.

That is blood.

Jesus (beeping) Christ.

The tape on top

is obviously the one
they found on the victim,

judging by the blood on the tape.

And tape number two

is the one that arrived
to the Florida Department

yesterday morning via the mail.

Why are these two tapes in
my garage? Great question.

It's because the Department of Dinosaurs

claims that these two tapes are identical.

And I say no way.

So they were nice enough
to send me the tapes

because I'm gonna try to prove 'em wrong.

I'm gonna go take 'em into
my office, digitize 'em,

and see if the computer
can't spot the difference

between the two, which I think it will.

So that's what we're
gonna go do right now.

We need to cut these cameras. Cut.

(suspenseful music)

- [Man On Recording] This is

- Okay, so I got some good news.

There is a difference between
these two tapes as I thought.

And thanks to stereo headphones,

I was able to find the
difference almost immediately.

Didn't even need a computer to help me.

So here are the two digitized tapes.

Tape one is on top, tape
two is on the bottom.

Some of you can probably
already see the difference,

but for those who can't, I'll explain.

So these tapes are stereo,

which means each tape consists
of two separate channels,

a left and a right, okay?

Tape one as you can see has
a similar looking signal

on both but stereo channels,

which is typical with stereo audio.

What's not typical is tape number two,

which has two totally
different looking channels.

So real quick before I get too far ahead,

let's just play tape two normally.

- [Man On Recording] This is
a test to see your capability.

If you pass this test,

you'll be met with another
for further down the road.

- So it sounds fine, right?
Sounds like the first tape.

Except now,

listen what happens when I
turn off the left channel.

Now, some of you might not
even be able to hear this,

but there's a series of low
frequency beeps playing.

So I asked myself what would happen

if I raised that to a common frequency,

something we can all hear, you get this.

(beeping sound)

So my first thought,
sounds like Morse code.

So I thought what would happen

if I dropped it into a free
online Morse translator?

Well, you get this.

Bartow, Florida, under
the Peace River Bridge.

A message written in audio,

hidden on the right
channel of tape number two,

giving us none other than
what I was hoping for.

A location. (sighs)

Looks like I'm going to Florida.

(light music)

So here we are in the house

and you can see it's
still under construction.

That's why I'm gonna be
sleeping in that camper

you saw me hauling in.

But anyway, regardless, you might notice

some of the usual ghost
hunting toys around here,

like the block letters,
keyboard, speaking machines,

it's 'cause they
permanently live here now.

Because, honestly, not much
activity happens anymore

either here or at my personal house.

I figured what better place
for it to live than here.

Just in case something does happen,

the security cameras will
get it on tape and I'll know.

But I always like to bring
something new when I come down.

I brought a new toy with
me and it's pretty sick.

So this is a still shot
camera with a flash on top.

And over here is a motion sensor.

And you might recognize this motion sensor

from some of the previous movies I did.

You might remember it was
actually set off a few times

in my previous films,

so I figured why not turn
this thing into a trigger?

So I added a simple wireless
modification to the back,

which connects it to the camera,

so that means if anything trips it,

it takes a picture and
sends it to my cloud

and I'll know that something set it off.

Well, anyway, I got a long trip

because I'm still gonna try to
make it down to Bartow today,

which is like a hundred miles.

So I better get going right now.

So as I made the long trip down to Bartow

to find the Peace River Bridge,

I found myself getting more
and more nervous closer I got

because you have to remember
that up to this point

I hadn't told any authorities
about my discovery

and I was the only
person besides the killer

who knew about this bridge.

So I'm here at the Peace River Bridge

and at first glance it
looks like a normal bridge,

but apparently there's something abnormal

waiting to be found below it.

So I'm a little scared,
but I drove all this way,

so I'm not about to go home
without looking underneath it.

The only problem is

it looks like the only
way to get down there

is I see a trail over there

and I think that's what
leads down to the bottom.

So I'm gonna take this trail
and see where it leads. Cut.

- [Interviewer] When you went down there,

what did you think you'd
find below the bridge?

- Honestly, I had no idea
what I was gonna find.

If I was even gonna find
anything at all, to be honest.

I just knew that it was
my job to keep filming

in the case that I did find something.

So I followed the trail
down to below the bridge,

and when I got there,

I immediately started
looking around for, you know,

anything that might be
outta place or abnormal.

But the problem was

that it was just actually
such a large area to search.

I never expected that whatever it was

that I was supposed to be looking for

would be so hard to find.

And I was down there for over an hour

before I decided to finally give up.

You know, it just became clear

that I wasn't gonna find anything.

So I started looking for the trail

that would lead me back to my truck,

and as fate would have it,

just as I was starting to
quit, that's when I saw it.

So I just spotted something.

I think I know what this is, actually.

This...

I gotta go back to my car and get it,

but I think I know what this is.

Yep.

So I got this outta my car
and I'm gonna see if it fits.

So as you can see,
there's an arrow on this.

There's an arrow on
this thing I just found.

So when I align the arrows,

they sink up and point in that direction,

which according to my compass on my phone

is exactly 359 degrees,

so there's something
off in that direction.

(suspenseful music)

Well, I just found
something quite interesting.

Yeah, let me explain.

So I'm looking at a digital
map here on my computer.

And when I plotted a line

from the location under the bridge today

in the direction of
359.31, when I draw a line,

it goes right through this
house, right through it.

That's too coincidental,
so it means something.

What? I have no idea, but...

I have no idea what I was about to say.

I can't think anymore,

so I am gonna start drinking some beer,

go to bed. (laughing)

So something just
tripped the camera inside

and it snapped a picture in my phone.

Just woke me up to let me know.

Could be a false alarm, but...

I don't see any...

I don't see any lights on
in there but I'm gonna...

I'm gonna go in and check it out.

we're trying to help you with,

we're kind of at a standstill.

And everyone on the forum has
kind of either lost interest

or just given up at this point.

- I can't say I didn't see that coming.

So this guy Jordan, who I
met a while back on a forum,

has been trying to help
me solve this riddle

for some time now.

And as you can imagine,

things aren't going so hot right now.

"Where birds like to stay,"

I think that's the real puzzle here.

- I agree. I totally agree.

I think that without it we
can't figure out anything else.

- [Jordan] You know, I just wanted to call

has kind of given up,

and at the top it says
"Cipher is now numbers."

- "Cipher is now numbers?"

- [Ramey] Yeah. You got
any idea what that means?

- I mean, I can't be for
certain without seeing it.

Could you send me a copy of the note?

- [Ramey] I already sent it to your inbox.

- All right. I'll call you
back once I take a look at it.

- [Ramey] Cool.

- So here we are in front
of my computer again,

and here's the new note
they got this morning.

And it says "Cipher is now numbers."

And as you can see

there are a bunch of
numbers at the bottom here.

Now, I'm no genius, but up to this point,

we've only been presented
with one kind of cipher.

And that was this thing
that I got a long time ago

that ultimately led to the discovery

of Susan Forrester's body.

So I figured simply outta curiosity,

what would happen if I
plugged these numbers

into that cipher?

Well, you get the following
message, "You have mail."

So my immediate reaction was
to go out and check my mailbox

because this guy's been known

to leave me gifts from time to time.

However, my mailbox was empty,

so I started to wrap my head around it.

What else do I know of
that's mail related?

And then it hit me.

Hey, can you hear me?

So I have a theory as to what this means.

(suspenseful music)

Hey, so I found something.

- [Ramey] What?

- It's another block of wood,
kinda like the other one.

It's got a bird arrow
and a compass direction,

except for the outside edge
is green instead of red.

- [Ramey] Okay. Is that it?

- No, on the back, there are coordinates

and it says "Go alone."

- [Ramey] Do you know
where the coordinates lead?

- Yeah, I looked it up.

It's some abandoned development

outside of Palm Bay, Florida.

It's like 120 miles away from here.

It's out in the middle of nowhere.

- [Ramey] That sounds kind of dangerous.

Please tell me you're not thinking

of going out there by yourself.

- That's why I'm calling, man.
I need you to do me a favor.

Listen, if I don't call
you by 9:00 tonight,

can you send somebody
out there looking for me?

- [Ramey] I don't like this.

So here, I'm in Palm Bay,

and I'm following the
coordinates on the GPS

which as you can see is taking
me in the middle of nowhere.

A little scary because the
further I go, the deeper I get.

And it's a little
disconcerting, a little scary.

I don't know what's waiting
for me at this spot,

but I ain't gonna dilly
dally as soon as I find,

I'm getting (beeping) the outta here.

But anyway, GPS says I'm
coming up on it soon,

so I gotta get the cameras ready. Cut.

I see something.

So I found what he wanted me
to find on the ground here

and the little placard fit right inside

and it points right in that
direction through my truck.

Don't know what that means,
but it means something.

And I'm so far out here, I'm
starting to get the jitters

because I feel like somebody's
watching me right now

and it is unsettling.

'Cause if I were to yell or do anything,

nobody would even know it.

So I'm gonna get in my truck
right now and I'm gonna go.

So something recently crossed my mind

and that's that a lot of
people are gonna think,

unless I address it,

that the guy standing
behind me in this picture

is Joseph William Lightfoot.

And if you don't remember who
Joseph William Lightfoot is,

he's the guy I interviewed a long time ago

who's the son of James Lightfoot.

What I never told anybody
is that me and Joe

actually became friends
after that interview

and we've stayed in touch over the years.

So I can assure you, and
you're just gonna trust me,

it's not him.

However, I did recently
decide to give him a call

just to see if there was maybe
some family members of his

that I wasn't aware of.

So this is the conversation that happened.

- [Joseph] You know, I
don't known what family

my dad had before.

- Right.

- [Joseph] Yeah, I remember trying to find

what family my dad, the history.

I mean, it's...

But I couldn't find it.

- Well, I remember you saying once

that your father was in a
previous marriage, correct?

- [Joseph] I think that's right. Yeah.

- Well, do you know if he had
any children in that marriage?

So unfortunately, the
crappy audio recorder

that I was using during this interview

decided to cut out right
before he mentioned

a very important detail.

And it was that when he was a kid,

he briefly heard his
mother say that his father,

James Lightfoot or the Lightfoot Killer,

had an adopted son from
a previous marriage.

Now, Joe went on to say

that he wasn't even sure if this is true,

but he did remember hearing it.

And I was like,

well that's a big detail
because of one thing,

"A father can be a
father regardless of law,

regardless of genetics,
regardless of all."

And it just so happens
that an adopted son,

if one exists, fits that
description perfectly.

So I'm definitely interested
to find out more about this.

So what is it that you want me to look at?

- [Jordan] So I sent you a map.

Can you pull it up on
the computer real quick?

- Yeah, I got it open. I'm
looking at it right now.

- [Jordan] Okay, so when you
went to the Peace River Bridge

and placed the engraving in the stone,

when you draw a line in
the direction it indicates

it goes right through the
Lightfoot house, correct?

- That is correct.

- [Jordan] So when you went to Palm Bay

and placed the second engraving,

were you also aware
that if you draw a line

in the direction it indicates,

it too goes right through the house?

- Huh?

You know, I kind of suspected
it, but I never confirmed it.

So you're sure the second one
goes through the house too?

- [Jordan] Yes.

- [Jordan] That is correct.

- Any idea what that means?

- [Jordan] Nah, not at the moment,

but I'm not gonna give up on this.

Okay, so this is why I'm
acting weird all of a sudden.

For the past few weeks,

I've noticed that every time I come home

my phone gives me this notification.

It says "Unknown device detected," right?

So I just thought it was my phone

getting back on the local network

as I pulled into my driveway.

Wrong, because I just
pulled into my driveway

a few minutes ago,

got the same notification

except for this time it
showed the device's name

that's trying to connect my home network.

Are you ready for this?

The device's name is Vehicle Tracker.

So, yeah.

(suspenseful music)

(phone ringing)

- [Ramey] Yeah?

- So I found out how he is
always one step ahead of me.

- [Ramey] How?

- He put a tracking device on my truck.

- [Ramey] Well, how do you
know it's a tracking device?

- Because it literally says
tracking device right on it.

- [Ramey] Wait, he's probably paying

for some service to track you.

Maybe we could trace the credit
card he's using for payment.

- Well, I thought about that, but then,

you know, bear with me.

So he doesn't know I
found this thing, right?

I put it back on my truck,
pretend I never found it,

come back to Florida,
he sees I'm in Florida,

he will make his way
back out to the house.

- Well, then we trap him.

guy most likely knows

I'm here right now

because of the tracking
device he put on my truck.

Which is why I've taken the liberty

of place in motion sensors
all around the property

just in case he does show up,

which will most likely happen at night,

maybe tonight, I don't know.

And if he trips one of these sensors,

at least I'll know he is here.

So why would I come all the way down here

and put myself in such
a dangerous situation?

It's because I don't think I have,

I've never mentioned
this before to anybody,

but I don't think he wants to hurt me.

And the reason I think that

is why would you go outta your
way to provide me puzzles,

clues and riddles and just to kill me?

It's 'cause he wouldn't.

I mean, he certainly had
multiple opportunities to do so,

but he chose not to.

Why?

It's because fear can be a useful tool

when you want something
accomplished on your behalf.

Like in this situation,

having me finish what
he started years ago.

And he knows that I'm the best
chance of accomplishing that.

So no, I don't think I've put myself

in a dangerous situation.
