In a small village, there lived a poor man who was lucky enough to be married to a very beautiful woman.

Their love was so strong that arguments were unknown in their home.

Every morning, the husband expressed his love to his wife by hugging her tenderly, whispering:

“You are the light of my life.”

She responded each time with a dazzling smile: “And you, my dear husband, you are my infinite happiness.”

Their happiness seemed perfect, until a rich and charismatic neighbor came to disturb their peace.

As soon as he saw the poor man's wife, he fell in love with her and decided that he had to marry her at all costs.

“I must marry her,” he thought.

Every day, while the husband worked in the fields, the rich neighbor visited the modest household.

One day the poor man looked at the donkey. He was tired and old. He stood there with his head bowed.

The poor man felt sorry for him. He entered his house and took out the second stick.

Then he touched the donkey with it. Immediately the rich man stood there, but he was no longer a handsome young man.

He was old, his back bent, he was very, very tired.

“You tried to take my wife away from me,” said the poor man.

"That was bad. Go home now, don't look at other men's wives."

The rich man left and never returned.

However, the poor man and his wife lived happily together for many more years.
