over the weekend from the high temperature
still prevailing.

had its darker aspects, too.

State highway patrol reports fatalities
from traffic and weekend accidents

exceeded by four the figure for the
corresponding weekend last summer.

Some 14 persons lost their lives.
Among these, at least five were drowned.

Several others received emergency
first aid at crowded lake resorts.
