A BLOODY LUCKY DAY

EPISODE 9: EYE FOR AN EYE TOOTH FOR A TOOTH

Mr. Oh.

Don't you want to see your grandson?

I guess you didn't know?

After all you went through to get revenge on me.

Honey. Ready to go?

Yes.

And all the while, your son...

I had a strange feeling since last night.

Dad suddenly cooked dinner for me.

As if we wouldn't see each other for a long time.

So it was weighing on my mind all day long.

Then when I came home after work...

I found this in my desk drawer.

PASSCODE 0807

He left you all this money out of the blue?

That's not all.

ANESTHESIA GAS, BLEEDING OUT, BURNER CAR, DISMEMBERMENT

KO CHAE-RI

The phone has been turned off...

Ko Chae-ri?

Please leave a message...

Of course it's turned off.

KO CHAE-RI

The phone has been turned off.

Now...

How about we have a proper conversation?

SOUL MATE BY LEE BYEONG-MIN AND YUN SE-NA

ODIN BIOTECHNOLOGY WORKING TOWARDS BETTER ANTI-AGING

Hey, Jun-ho. Talk to me.

Sir, Mr. Oh's phone just turned on.

What?

It turned back off right away but I located the station.

He's in Wongung-eup, Yeongtaek-si.

Wongung-eup?

Do you know it?

What did you do to Chae-ri?

Erase that. Erase that first.

Our conversation comes after.

Don't waste your time.

This will never make me talk.

Tell me what you did to Chae-ri.

If you want to know,

stop this crap and erase that first!

Tell me.

Tell me!

You want to have a conversation?

Fine then.

Fine, let's do that.

There.

Do it properly.

Tell me now.

What did you do yesterday?

Just answer the question!

You followed me around every day.

But I didn't see you yesterday.

How can I help you?

Hello.

The brakes feel a bit worn.

I see.

We have a lounge over there. You can wait there.

- Okay, thank you. - No problem!

I'm still at work...

Chae-ri,

I'll tell him next time...

Hey, Seung-hyeon.

Thought you were going on a trip with Chae-ri.

I decided not to go.

Why not?

You haven't told Taek yet that she's pregnant?

Gosh.

Chae-ri was so excited about going away today.

She said she'd go alone.

I'm sorry.

No need to apologize to me.

Make sure you make up with her.

She has a terrible temper

because she takes after her mom.

Here, kitty.

Come here.

Come out and eat this.

It's okay.

Is there a cat down there?

Yes.

It looks injured so I wanted to help...

But it doesn't want to come out.

Would you like to try?

Here, kitty.

Here, kitty.

Why? Why Chae-ri?

Which movie was it again?

It also starred Robert De Niro.

Robert De Niro

kills the dog of the person he's trying to get revenge on.

The owner knows who did it.

But he can't prove it.

So he slowly goes insane.

What happens next

to that dog owner?

He goes mad with anxiety.

Ko Chae-ri is that dog.

And the dog owner...

You know, right?

Chae-ri...

Did you kill her?

It's just a comparison.

I didn't kill her.

Where is Chae-ri right now?

Where is Se-na?

- What? - Let's make a trade.

Ko Chae-ri for Yun Se-na.

One for one. Fair trade.

Dammit. Se-na...

I never imagined she'd side with you.

She must pay for her betrayal.

Give me Se-na.

I gave you the memory card!

I told you what happened to Chae-ri!

Her location is a separate matter.

Where is Chae-ri?

Where's Se-na?

Tell me.

Mr. Oh...

You can't kill me.

If I die,

Ko Chae-ri dies too.

Tell me!

If I die...

Seung-mi will die too.

Originally, I was going

to kill Seung-mi this morning.

I didn't kill her.

You said you didn't kill her!

You said you didn't kill her!

Did you actually believe me?

You...

Chae-ri...

You already killed her.

Yes,

I'm sure you might think that.

However...

What are you doing?

Wait, what are you doing?

Where are you taking me?

What are you doing?

Look into my eyes.

Until your very last breath...

Imagine it.

Picture what I will do.

Just...

How far I will go.

I'll pay you back...

in the exact same way.

Mr. Oh.

What are you doing?

Mr. Oh.

You can't let him live.

Hold onto him!

No!

No!

He killed my daughter!

It was him!

He's the killer!

He's the killer!

Mr. Lee, grab this!

No!

Lee Byeong-min!

Grab a hold of this!

Grab it!

Don't let go...

Detective Park, get over here!

No!

I'm coming!

Pull!

Hold on tight!

Over here!

Hold on tight. Don't let go!

Lee Byeong-min!

Hold on tight!

Hold! Mr. Lee! Hold on tight!

Hold on tight!

That's it.

Grab him!

Hey, grab him!

Get him out!

Come on up!

Lee Byeong-min!

Mr. Lee, wake up.

Lee Byeong-min.

Lee Byeong-min!

YUN SE-NA'S ADDRESS

SEUNG-MI ABDUCTED?

Are you awake?

I'm Detective Lee Ji-eun from the Seomun Police Station.

That man.

What happened to him?

He's on the run.

What?

He got away?

I'll pay you back...

in the exact same way.

Where is my wife?

Wait, Mr. Lee...

You need to calm down!

Where is Hyeon-ji?

Yes. Send them immediately.

I hired security.

Never go out without security

until that psychopath is captured.

Don't go anywhere by yourself.

I was just seeing mother off for a second.

Enough about my mom.

Just listen to me.

Promise me.

But why would he do that to you?

What did he say?

I don't know.

He just seemed like a madman.

He must be in shock. He's very agitated right now.

He even hired personal bodyguards.

Just ask him to cooperate.

We need a statement to gather clues or whatever.

Understood, sir.

KO CHAE-RI SEUNG-HYEON YEAH

What about Mr. Oh's call records?

There was nothing that stood out.

But more importantly,

he was at a police station.

What?

There was a woman named Song Min-seon

who got into a fight and was taken to the station.

And Mr. Was registered as her guardian.

Song Min-seon?

Ms. Oh father,

a victim of serial killer Geum Hyeok-soo,

abducted prominent businessman, Mr. A,

because he mistook him for the killer.

Fortunately Mr. A is in stable condition after surgery.

The police are currently...

RESTRICTED NUMBER

Hello?

Hello?

Hello, it's me.

Are you okay?

I keep seeing you on the news.

They say Byeong-min is still alive.

Yes, I know.

Byeong-min saw you.

He is...

coming after you.

Do you have anywhere where you can hide?

You should go back to the U.S.

But you must move quickly.

I'm so sorry.

Because I failed...

I failed to kill him.

It's okay.

I only did what I said I would.

From here on...

I'll do it alone.

Okay.

Please let me know once you have finished.

What about you?

What are you going to do now?

I have to keep going.

Exactly as he did.

I'll return the pain he caused me.

The last thing I remember is...

avoiding his car and escaping

to an abandoned rest stop.

I don't remember anything after that.

After the abduction,

it's just as I said earlier.

Okay.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Thank you.

Mr. Lee.

Do you know anyone by the name of Song Min-seon?

No. I've never heard that name before.

Who is that?

Never mind.

I hope you get some rest.

Song Min-seon.

Song Min-seon.

Seung-hyeon. I haven't found your dad yet.

I'll contact you as soon as I do.

Thank you for calling.

Yes, thanks to you, the surgery went well.

I don't know how we got caught up

in something like this.

No, they haven't caught him yet.

Hello, director. This is Lee Byeong-min of Odin.

There's someone I'd like you to look into.

It's a personal matter.

Thank you.

Are you really planning to go all the way?

I wish I could stop you.

You already know that nothing will stop me.

How is the pain?

It's okay.

Once the anesthesia wears off, the pain will get worse.

Just press this button whenever it hurts too much.

Okay, thank you.

I'm sorry but could you please open the window.

It feels a bit stuffy.

Thank you.

Who is it?

Song Min-seon?

I'm Detective Kim Jung-min from Seomun Police Station.

You must be going somewhere.

I'm going away.

Ms. Song.

You know who Taek is, right?

Who is that?

You're Yun Se-na, right?

Seung-hyeon!

Sorry to bother you when you're working.

Did Chae-ri not come to the salon today?

No, it's her day off today.

I thought she went away with you.

We didn't...

Did she mention anything else to you?

Like what?

Why? Did you two fight?

Can you please tell me if Ko Chae-ri checked in?

I'm her boyfriend.

Please, it's urgent.

Yes, I understand but it's just really urgent.

Look, I'm telling you

she might've been in an accident...

You just have to tell me

whether Ko Chae-ri is there or not.

When you were in high school,

were you in theater?

Yes.

And your boyfriend in the same theater class...

It was Lee Byeong-min.

After breaking up with Lee Byeong-min,

did your new boyfriend

fall from a building and die?

Kong Cheon-seok.

The guy who fell and died.

Kong Cheon-seok.

I believe Byeong-min killed him.

That's why I ran away to the U.S.

I changed my name and adopted by stepfather's surname.

I was scared that Byeong-min would find me.

Honestly,

I didn't believe that Yun Se-na really existed.

I thought Geum Hyuk-soo was making it all up.

How did you meet?

Mr. Taek, that is.

I know that you called him as your guardian at the station.

He came to see me a few weeks ago

and asked me the same things you just did.

And at the police station...

I thought I needed an elder there to resolve matters

because I don't really know anyone in Korea.

That is all.

Please tell me if you know where Mr. Oh. is right now.

That's the way to help him.

I really don't know.

I haven't seen him since that time at the police station.

- Se-na... - I...

Never want to think about Lee Byeong-min ever again.

So why are you all coming out of nowhere

and triggering me like this? Mr. And you...

I've told you everything.

Please excuse me.

Hi, Seung-hyeon.

Detective...

It's Chae-ri...

I think she's missing.

What are you talking about?

It might just be that's she mad at me

and not calling me.

That might be the case but...

It just doesn't feel right.

Seung-hyeon, calm down and tell me.

This is just like last time.

The day that my dad picked up that murderer.

I couldn't get in touch with my sister, either.

It's so similar right now.

So what I mean is...

What if Chae-ri's disappearance...

isn't a coincidence?

What if this happened because

my dad found the real killer?

RESTROOMS

VIP WARD

Sir.

How can I help you?

I'm Detective Kim Jung-min of the Seomun Police Station.

I'm the one that saved you from the well.

Thank you.

But I...

already gave my statement to another detective.

Yes, but I just wanted to ask you a few things.

Did the surgery go well?

Yes. Fortunately, I guess...

I see another scar on your left hand.

I hurt it during a workout.

It looks like you cut it with a knife.

According to Mr. Oh's testimony...

The killer said he couldn't feel pain

and cut his left hand with a knife to prove it.

That's why I'm asking.

I see.

It's you.

It is you, right?

What did you do with Ko Chae-ri?

Where is Ko Chae-ri?

What do you think you're doing?

I just need to confirm something with Mr. Lee.

I see.

Well, I'm Lee Byeong-min's mother.

I am also a District Court judge.

I heard you let the assailant escape right before your eyes.

And yet, instead of apologizing...

What on earth are you doing to the victim here?

I'm trying to catch the criminal.

I need to question the victim in order to do that.

We refuse your questioning.

- Pardon? - Did you not hear me?

I said we refuse.

If you want, you can try to coerce him.

Once you do, I will lodge a formal complaint to your boss.

You will be held responsible

for disturbing this victim.

You may leave now.

Do detectives no longer uphold the law?

Yes, sir.

Focus your attention on Lee Byeong-min from here on.

His whereabouts, assets, international travel records

from four years ago to now, search everything.

The real serial killer...

is Lee Byeong-min.

Thank you for being here since early this morning.

A pregnant woman shouldn't be at a place like this.

Yeah. Listen to my mom.

It'd be best to stay with your parents

until that psychopath is caught.

Still, I couldn't leave you here all alone.

Geez.

He says he's fine.

Will you really be okay?

Yeah. Go home and get some rest.

Okay, then.

Hyeon-ji, I'm sorry.

I need to speak with Byeong-min in private.

Yes, mother.

- Get some rest. - Okay.

I heard you went to see your dad?

He is of zero help to you!

Stop visiting him.

And who is this Ko Chae-ri?

Shouldn't you be comforting me instead of interrogating?

If you call yourself a mother.

Don't tell me this is just like in high school.

You did it, didn't you?

That detective knows everything.

If anything is going to cause trouble,

get rid of it immediately.

Bury it or burn it up. Just do whatever it takes.

Did you bring your car?

The father of Ms. A,

who was murdered by Geum Hyuk-soo,

mistook entrepreneur Mr. A for the killer

and abducted him.

He is now on the run.

Seung-hyeon!

Seung-hyeon, what about Taek?

No news about him, right?

You can't get in touch either?

Sir...

Chae-ri...

I think Chae-ri is missing.

What are you talking about?

Chae-ri went on a trip!

Hey.

What's going on? Tell me!

Why did you go and harass the victim?

And why is Jun-ho digging into Lee Byeong-min?

What the hell is he doing isn't he trying to find Taek?

Sir...

We even underwent disciplinary action

because of Geum Hyuk-soo.

Shouldn't we do it right this time?

What are you talking about?

Lee Byeong-min is the killer.

We were wrong.

You sure you can take responsibility for those words?

Yes, I will take responsibility.

I will take full responsibility.

Mr. Oh's son's girlfriend is currently missing.

That's also Lee Byeong-min's doing.

I will keep going.

DETECTIVE PARK SEONG-IL

What is this?

DETECTIVE PARK SEONG-IL

Hey, Detective Park.

What did you just send me?

It's footage near the area

where Lee Byeong-min was abducted.

It's Mr. Oh's car that was found in Yeongtaek.

But the driver seems different.

Doesn't it seem like a woman?

- Hello? - Ms. Yun,

were you involved in Lee Byeong-min's abduction?

I have evidence, so don't think about lying.

Where is Mr. Oh right now?

Remaining silent like this

will only make things worse for you.

And Mr. Oh as well.

I really have no idea where he is.

- Ms. Yun - I'm telling you the truth!

He called me several hours ago.

I asked him what he was planning to do.

He said he'd repay Lee Byeong-min...

as much as he suffered.

Repay him exactly...

Then what's he planning next?

I don't know, I just hung up.

I haven't been able to contact him since then.

This is really all I know.

Incheon Airport.

Where is Ko Chae-ri?

That detective knows everything.

If anything is going to cause trouble,

get rid of it immediately.

Bury it or burn it up. Just do whatever it takes.

Please take me home for a second.

Mr. Lee told me to go straight to Hannam-dong.

I have to get something.

It won't take long.

Let's go for a smoke.

Sounds good.

My only sin is loving you.

Please save me just for today.
