- Mother decided that now that she and Jack

were completely recovered from their illness,

we should all concentrate on getting off the island

as soon as possible.

Fritz and Father have been spending all their time

working on a boat to take us off the island.

Meanwhile, we were working in the garden

harvesting the vegetables and getting ready

to sow some seeds.

- I'll get more alright?

(grunts)

- Mother there's something I want to ask you.

Why are we bothering to plant more seeds

if we're going to be off the island soon?

- That's a good question, hopefully we'll be off the island

before the next harvest.

But sometimes things don't always work out

the way we planned so I think it's a good idea

to plant the seeds just in case we're still here

when we need the food Becca.

- Uh huh, I understand now.

- We don't really know for sure

if the ship that Fritz and Father have been building

is going to be able to sail or not.

- I'm sure if Father's making it it'll be just great Mother.

(frits grunting)

- Phew.

(father grunting)

(hammer clanking)

- Daddy, daddy!

- Father, father we brought you some cold water.

- Why thank you, that was thoughtful.

- Come on mother hurry up.

- Fritz stop working and come have a cold drink.

- So how are the two of you coming along

with the boat you've been building.

- Oh it's coming slowly but surely.

- Since we've already made a canoe

we know how to do it.

The only difference this time is we have to make

two larger ones.

- Well, just don't overdo it now.

- Since everything was being saved for a trip off the island

we went to bed at nightfall to save our energy and candles.

Which put a damper on my chess tournament

with my friends.

(rooster sounds)

- Becca come have breakfast.

Oh, I'm sorry.

- I wonder what's taking Becca so long?

- Speaking of Becca, I don't suppose you know.

to get some materials for the boat.

we were gone for a while.
