This island, like, definitely
has a little piece of my heart.

you will see plenty of photos of me
in Ibiza the last few years.

But this island is getting
more and more expensive

as the years are going on.

I've definitely noticed it.

It's gone from seeing people
on my Instagram, going out,

clubbing, to a bit more of, like,

a luxurious lifestyle that
people are looking for, I think.

I'm here for the summer, to see what
this influx of money looks like,

and discover how it's
changing the island.

There's some more girls.

I love it.

It's only lunchtime,
but the day clubs are already busy.

In the last few years,

they've been pulling in nearly
as many numbers as the nightclubs.

For years now, O Beach has been
one of the day drinking,

day party destinations that most
people are going to end up at.

And, yeah,
I'm really excited for today.

I've been here before
as an influencer,

and like many others,
I got to lay on the sunbeds

and get wined and dined,
in return for posting on my socials.

But today, I'm getting
behind the scenes,

to find out the secret
of the club's success.

or they've fallen over, cut their
toe, banged their head, and, yeah,

And then you come into the
VIP section of the club. Yep.

When a celebrity comes here,
or someone famous,

do you see an uptake in bookings,
more people posting?

I think it enhances its reputation,
for sure. Yeah.

You know, we get so many variety
of famous people coming,

from Ed Sheeran, to glamour models,
to footballers, you name it, really.

And, like, Conor McGregor as well.

But, you know, most of the people
I've got to know over the years

come on my table, really.

Everyone knows the celebs aren't
paying to be on Tony's table,

so how much are the guests
forking out?

for their summer holidays.

On the main strip between the hotels

everyone's dressed to party.

It's more people who've got,

you could necessarily

afford to come if you were, like,
fresh out of sixth form, you know?

See, we were lucky, because we knew
we were going to come here,

we've been saving every, like,
literally every month for a year.

So, we split the payments up a bit.

Early June means one thing in Ibiza.

The arrival of the
summer partygoers.

And it's not just
the usual clubbing crowd,

but the wealthy and the VIPs too.

Police here go from managing
130,000 islanders to well over

half a million tourists a day,
throughout high season.

At San Josep HQ, a small team
of local police are bracing

themselves for the summer onslaught.

What are you expecting
from tonight's shift?

Every day is different,
the criminals, they take a lot

of expensive cars,
they take expensive watches,

or they work with drugs.

I used to tell always
that it's a small town

with the problems of a big city.

So, whereabouts are we headed to?

the party crowd in Ibiza.

And, from the look of it,
drug deals on every corner.

Police have stopped a man
they're interested in talking to.

So, there's a guy here
that, as we approached,

he was having a conversation
with someone, and the person,

as soon as they saw the police,
rode away on the scooter.

He doesn't have any drugs
on his self at the moment,

so I think they're thinking
that he may have thrown them

as soon as he saw the police
coming round the corner.

Did you find anything?
Yeah.

Marijuana and pills,

like cocaine rosa,

rose pink cocaine. Oh!
Can I see it?

Yeah. All for you.

So, the police have found
in the bushes some marijuana,

by the looks of things, and
then also what they suspect to be

pink cocaine,
all in a little tissue wrapper.

So, your colleague found this?

Right. And he didn't have
any police report.

So, what's going to happen
with those drugs?

We are going to itemise
this kind of drugs.

After that, we send to analyst,
you know, in order to check which

kind of drugs they are,
and then after, we destroy.

Last year, tests on
150 pink cocaine pills

found only two
had any cocaine in.

Some weren't even pink.

It's actually a mix of
cheaper drugs, like ecstasy

and ketamine,
but it's sold as a luxury brand,

and people will pay
upwards of 80 euros a gram.

This is a part of the finds of,
for the drugs.

Does this, these are the drugs
that you seize... Yeah.

..from people in the street?

We used to put about 500 finds
in summer, more or less.

This is cocaine.

This is the pink cocaine?

This is why when we see pills
with the image of Superman

or the image of,
this is just marketing.

Even the drugs here
are aspirational,

and the dealers know
the right image to sell.

I've only been here a few days,
and already it's clear how much

Brits are spending
for their Ibizan summer.

Thousands fund their time here
by working the season.

I'm having a look at some of the
online rental pages for Ibiza,

to see if I can get an understanding
of what kind of cost are you

looking at to rent somewhere
out here.

OK, so this is the first
one that pops up,

is a two-bedroom apartment
in San Antonio.

You're looking at around
2,500 euros per month.

I mean, wow!

You know, people who come out here
to work are working

in the tourism industry,
you know, probably waitressing

in restaurants or working in clubs

and being part of
the nightlife scene.

I don't think that pays
particularly well,

so how are they affording
to come out here,

and what, at what price?

Asking around, it seems
the average shift pays anything

from 60 to 100 euros,

so people must have to do long hours
to cover the rent.

So, I'm meeting a girl
named Barley today.

I actually stumbled across her
on Instagram and she seems to be

living out here and working out
here, so I'm wondering how

she makes her money, and I want
to find out a bit more about her.

of what Ibiza is like.

I've been coming here for, like,
the last eight years.

It's like a home from home.

It doesn't really feel
like I'm on holiday, as such.

Talk to me about the, like,
VIP lifestyle in Ibiza.

Is that something that,

kind of, a lot of people
want to aspire to live?

Yeah, I think with, like,
the incline of influencers,

people like yourself, I'm not
taking away from what you do,

but I think we see that and we're
like, "I wan to be invited to go

"and be on a boat
with all my friends" or,

"I want to look good and
get paid to go out and sit

"on Wayne Lineker's table."

The creme de la creme cherry
on top is when I just sit back

on my big yacht with my sexy husband
and little children being nannied.

Like, that, that's the end goal,
but I know, I'm not an idiot,

you've got to work to get there.

Do you need to think
outside the box,

in terms of the ways you make money?

Unless you're doing
something illegal,

if you're not selling drugs,
the next best thing would be, like,

online sex working,
so, like, Only Fans camgirling.

Last year, I gave Only Fans a go.

I, it's full nudity,
but I was, like, classy about it.

Yeah, yeah, no, no, no.

Like, it wasn't, like, legs spread,
like, everything out,

see what I've had for dinner.

It was, it was done nicely.

But when I wanted to sort of do
hospitality with, like,

a higher end client, and if you
put my name in and that comes up,

it doesn't really work cohesively.

How much money were you making
last season, off of Only Fans?

Yeah, so I think it was around,
like, say £2,000 a month,

so I could live off of that,
and that funded,

like, my whole season here,
my rent and everything like that.

And it would vary.

It'd be public on your profile,
and then they'd go,

"Can I have, like, a dick rating?"

That was only a fiver,
I'd rate it out of ten.

But if they wanted a voice note dick
rating, that'd be, like, 65 quid.

And, yeah, so I did make a few
thousand on that, which was nice.

Yeah, fascinating.

I'm learning a huge amount.

We can triple your salary, darling!

Just across the island, in
Ibiza Town, you could be in Paris,

or even New York.

Ibiza is now the third
most expensive destination

in the Med, after Capri,
and St Tropez.

Just by shopping here for an hour,
I could very easily spend

a lot of money, if my credit card
allowed, which it doesn't.

But in my dreams,

I could spend probably hundreds
of thousands of pounds here.

But I suppose that's what
a lot of people come to Ibiza to do.

With nearly three-quarters
of the people here

working in the tourist industry,
this is the money they're chasing.

There's a whole online army
of people here servicing the needs

of the super-rich,
and I've come across Alice,

who runs a concierge business
called Faith.

three years ago to serve

the demands of the VIPs
on the island.

and what a concierge service is.

So, many people,
when they come on holiday to Ibiza,

they don't know where
to start, really.

We can help with the whole holiday,
starting with villas, hotels.

We can help with
all their bookings here,

make sure they're going to the best
places on the best day.

We have a lot of high-end clients
here, so it's important that they're

well looked after and everything
just goes as smooth as possible.

So, with that level of money,
kind of, flying around this island,

is there a lot of opportunities
for money to be made here?

For sure.

I think because it is
such a small island,

people have the opportunity
to make money here if they want.

They just have to work hard.

Why has the demand for this,
kind of like,

VIP concierge lifestyle

It's not easy to get in places now,

and that's who we are.

The demand is huge.

Like, Alice is the fixer,
so for instance, last week

we had a huge yacht arrive, and to
have a mooring here is impossible.

They came over from
Majorca actually,

and the captain and all of them
were messaging saying,

"We really need
a berth in Ibiza"

and everywhere we called
was saying they're completely

sold out until I think it's October,
like, the end of September.

And I managed to find one.

Wow!
I mean, that's amazing.

I feel like, when you spend
too much time in Ibiza,

you look at all these boats
and it feels really normal.

It feels like, "Oh, we're in Ibiza!
Big boats, big superyachts.

"This is just part
of the lifestyle."

And then sometimes you just need
to snap yourself back to reality

and think, "This is absolutely
not normal in the slightest.

"This is beyond so many
people's accessibility"

yet it feels like this is just
the fabric of the island.

Like, this is what makes
this island so luxurious.

What really sells Ibiza
is the image,

and making everyone lust
after the life you're living.

But flashing the cash like this
gets you noticed.

It's 11.00 on Playa d'en Bossa.

This is where the two worlds
of Ibiza come together,

the clubs, and the money.

It's changeover time from the
day clubs to the nightclubs.

A few local police are on duty,
and everyone's on the move.

It's like a stampede of people
all going the same direction,

going to the same place.

Everyone wants to do the same
thing on this island, right?

Everyone wants to go
and have a party,

no-one wants the party to end.

People seem like they're
having the time of their lives.

Yet it's definitely become,
all of a sudden, very manic.

Before I know it,
the police have had a call.

It was right here.

How it happen?

I was on my phone,
and they came up and he was like...

We hear about these kinds of things

but actually seeing it
was a really different experience.

I've walked down the streets
all around this island,

and I've seen so many people
wandering about,

wearing expenses watches
and wearing expensive jewellery,

expensive designer handbags.

And I think people might be like,

"Ah, I wanna fit in
with the lifestyle of this island."

You know, with this level of wealth
increasing on this island,

I think the crime is changing.

The landscape of crime is changing
on this island as well.

It's only the third week in June,
and already this month,

there have been at least
five high-profile thefts

of luxury watches.

It's Saturday night
and I'm with the national police,

to join their undercover detectives,
UDYCO.

Investigating big-money crime
on the island,

they've never allowed TV cameras
to follow them before.

They don't want us
to reveal their identities.

I'm a bit nervous. Obviously,
I don't know what we're going to see

and what we're going to
come into contact with,

but also, you know, I'm quite
excited to see them in action -

because it's not something that,
I think, as a visitor to the island

and as a tourist,
you really look out for.

And I think it'll change the way
I see the island.

The detectives and uniformed backup
are heading out in a sting operation

targeting watch thieves.

Can you tell me a bit about UDYCO
and what you guys do?

Oh, wow! I can see some huge boats.
Yeah.

So, this is where the wealthier
people come to on the island?

In Ibiza Town,
there's been a tip-off

that a watch spotter is
operating nearby.

The men are detained while police
run background checks on them.

One is known to police
and taken away for questioning.

The other is released
for lack of evidence.

The challenge for detectives is how
to catch an entire gang in the act.

Can you show me some of the crime
that's occurred around here?

Oh, my gosh! Wow!

It's so quick.

Yeah.

No-one knows what to do
with themselves.

So, you arrested the gang.
What did you find?

Half a million euros?!

Yeah, wow!

With watch stealing, it's an instant
hit of 50,000 euros, 100,000 euros.

One of the most expensive watches
that has been stolen on this island

was over a million euros.

I mean, that just shows
the kind of wealth

that is attracted to this island.

And this island is so small,
so, you know,

the saturation of wealthy people
driving around is huge.

It's massive. This is a...

You know, this is a playground
for organised crime, really.

The wealthy are reacting to
being targeted by criminal gangs.

Now, the hottest property
on the island isn't just a yacht

or a diamond,
it's high-end private security.

Marcus. Hello!

Nice to meet you.
Nice to finally meet you as well.

Marcus runs the longest-standing
private security firm on the island,

and business is booming.

Street-level crime now
is very sophisticated.

The targeted watch gangs,

everybody knows here that
they're from Italy -

the Neapolitan mafia,
as they call them.

Some of the gangs that come here
check themselves in

to four and five-star hotels
for two months.

That's a working expense
that's got to be covered

before they start putting money in
their pockets. Wow.

Some of the higher-ranking members
of these gangs

can often be seen in the VIP areas
of the clubs here on the island.

They're spending 30-40,000 euros
on a night out,

partying on the money that they've
made stealing from the people

surrounding them in VIP.

And these stolen items, watches,
handbags, where do they end up?

A client reliably informs me
that he discovered a watch

that was stolen from him
being sold on the black market,

no questions asked, in Dubai.

Many of Marcus's clients live
up in the hills in Santa Eularia,

an exclusive area
on the east coast of the island,

where they'll pay 150,000 euros
a week or more for a villa.

Ibiza attracts not just the top 1%,
but the top 0.1%. Mm-hm.

These are the kind of people
who don't want to have to

leave their trophies and their
trinkets at home when they travel.

And whenever the VIP areas are busy,
you can be sure that

there's someone there identifying
clients with high-value items.

And as they leave, they are passed
on to the next member of the group,

who will follow them back
to where they're staying.

The thieves committing these crimes
are now doing it in the darkness,

out in the countryside,
isolated, high-end villas,

where nobody's watching.

Ibiza has always been famous
for its glamorous villa parties,

hosted by everyone from Jade Jagger
to superstar DJ David Guetta.

These exclusive events are
for the chosen few.

So, I've arrived at
this incredible villa

to meet some of the girls
from Faith Concierge,

because they are throwing
this huge party today,

and I want to see what goes into
throwing something like this,

and also how much money it costs
to throw a huge party

in a place like this.

that's some people's yearly salary,

this on one afternoon.

When money is no object,

this is the kind of party
that can be pulled off.

And, to be honest,

the girls even said this is not
even their biggest party.

They've had parties that have cost
over 100,000 euros.

That blows my mind,

but some people, that's the life
they want to live

when they come out to Ibiza.

That's what money can get you.

Hoping to get herself noticed by
concierge companies like Alice's,

Barley is pursuing her latest
side hustle.

Her mum's over to help out.

Everyone here wants things that
look good on Instagram,

cos it's an influencers' island.

So, I'm preparing a tasting board.

It's going to be for a concierge
company.

So, my biggest will go for

650 euros,

and then I charge 50 euros
delivery fee.

She's always had an eye for cooking,
not that she's actually cooking.

I mean, she's creating this.

I'm confident, really confident

that she will do well.

I started doing this in April
this year,

and I got my first order,
which was for four super yachts,

and I said, "Yeah, why not?"

But I had no kitchen, I had my large
board, which is for, like,

10 to 12 people,

all laid out on a double bed
with the dry produce.

And then I had to take those in a
taxi on our laps

to a friend's house,

with air conditioning,
and a fridge full of the meats.

So, yeah, we were up at half
three preparing it,

to drop it off for ten o'clock.

And then they invited us
on the boat,

so I spent seven hours on a boat

with some very rich clients.

And it all paid off.

Fake it till you make it.

Remember, all I have ever wanted
is to be rich.

When you see more, you want more,

and I want to be loaded.

Why would you not want that?

And if my mum can live here
and not have to worry about work,

my life's complete.

Everything else is a bonus.

That's quite a bur...

That doesn't rest easy with me.

I was definitely rubbing shoulders

And then you can tell by the types
of watches they're wearing,

the designer T-shirts that all
the guys were wearing,

all the beautiful designer handbags.

I think Ibiza at times does give
the illusion

that you're safe to display
your wealth.

You know, there's security,
there's private clubs,

and that definitely creates
a culture of

if you've got it, flaunt it.

As the evening gets into full swing,

I'm keen to find out
more about the guestlist

and who exactly are Ibiza's elite?

But before I can discovery anything,

I'm politely asked to leave.

What happens in the villa stays

so we're going to go and check it
out and see what's happened.
