August 3, 2010, a UFO sighting in the
skies over Whiteman air force base, Missouri.

A father of two goes to
investigate a UFO sighting by his son.

He and his oldest son went and
camped out on the side of the hill.

They had a wide-open sky, and a view
of the town and Whiteman air force base.

And what they noticed was two
military jets. It looks like they're

about to land, but instead of landing,
they circle around the base like

they're searching or chasing something.

And then a dark, triangular shape
appeared in the sky. And the father

reported that it had three pale,
orange lights running around the perimeter.

The father reported that the
craft made absolutely no noise.

The military jets appear to
pursue the UFO.

Suddenly, the two military planes

accelerate like they've locked on
trajectory of the object, and they

start to pursue it.

As they approach it,
the triangle-shaped craft disappears.

As soon as the UFO disappeared,
the father and son called friends

and family to see if they saw it
also. The girlfriend had seen the

exact same craft above the trees. She
described it exactly as they saw it

without any prompting.

And then more and more people went
up the hill to get a clear view of the UFO.

Suddenly,
they see this UFO again, and this

time, it's a little different because

the triangle is now pursuing the fighter

jet. Helicopters are dispatched,

and they start hovering above the base.

So the father notices that
all commercial air traffic has been

coming and going all night. Except
this time, it completely stops. About

2:30 A.M., the UFO takes off. And
that seems like it was gonna be the end of it.

According to MUFON files,

this is just one of over 1,000 sightings

since January 2011 in the state
of Missouri. This location currently

has the highest concentration of UFO
activity in the country.

In the state of Missouri, the volume of reports
is astounding. We've literally seen

thousands of sighting reports and
hundreds of investigations, seeing

bright lights in the sky, brilliant
orbs, as well as massive triangular

craft flying over the countryside
and over the highway.

Recurring sightings like these are known as
hotspots. Since the 1940s, there have

been similar waves all across America.

Why do some regions report more UFOs
than others? Is there something

attracting them? MUFON opens their
files to answer these questions right

now. The mutual UFO network, known as
MUFON, is an independent organization

not bound to any government. They
investigate reports of UFO sightings

from around the world. Over the past
five decades, they have collected

more than 70,000 files, stored at a
secure location known as hangar 1.

Now for the first time, MUFON is

granting access to their vast archive.

These are the files of hangar 1.

There are many states across the U.S.

that report a high volume of UFO sightings.

Missouri, New York, Colorado,
and California are just a few.

These areas of unusually high UFO activity
are defined as "hot spots."

A hot spot is an area where a concentration
of UFOs are seen. And sometimes,

they're reported as mass waves or what

we like - to call flaps.

Is it possible to determine why UFOs are

attracted to some areas more than others?

We focus on these flaps because
they're very important. Normally,

it's multiple witnesses seeing the
same object from different sites that

allows us to triangulate and find
out exactly where the object was,

how big the object was, what kind
of movements it made, and compare all

this data. I think when you've seen
enough of these cases, there are

some very, very extraordinary things
going on. A UFO flap in Missouri is

the focus of a current investigation.

Debbie Ziegelmeyer is our state

director for Missouri, and Margie Kay
is a field investigator that works

with her. They have over 40 years of
experience between them and are on

the front lines of this flap that's
been happening in Missouri.

MUFON investigator Margie Kay is contacted
about a new UFO sighting.

Margie received a call from an
off-duty police

officer who saw a glowing sphere over
his home and decided to step out

to take a closer look. What he saw
amazed him. A 60-foot glowing sphere

hovering less than 100 feet above his
house. He told Margie that he was

paralyzed with fear. He couldn't
even think to get his gun. And then

the craft just vanished. Three days
later, a professor who asked to

remain anonymous saw the same craft
just one county over. Other reports

continue to flood in from the Blue
Springs area. Blue Springs is in the

Kansas city area, and they're getting
multiple reports of blue orbs being

seen over the neighborhoods.

The multiple sightings become
known as the

lights of Blue Springs. Attempting
to capture the UFOs on film, Margie

Kay and a local news team venture out
to investigate. And during their

search, the mysterious lights reappear.

So Margie and the news team saw
these same blue lights hover, then

jet away at an incredible speed, and
return a few seconds later. In fact,

the camera operator of a TV station
refused to go back to work to do more

filming 'cause she was terrified.
We haven't seen a flap like this -

in Missouri since the 1970s.

MUFON investigators evaluate each sighting
using a rating system designed

specifically for UFO encounters.

Jacques Vallee created the Vallee rating

system for UFO sighting reports, which

we use today at MUFON. We put this
in this two-dimensional matrix. Then

each one is given a rating from one
to five, and that tends to be how

close it is, whether or not there was

trace evidence left, or whether a being

was encountered. So a CE-3 would
be an encounter, a close encounter

with a craft where a being is actually

seen. Uh, so, you know, three...

Close encounters of the third kind,

that's what they're talking about.

So this is used today to allow us to

really understand our cases and what's

significant about them and also to

categorize them for
further - research.

As UFO sightings in the lights

of Blue Springs flap continue, MUFON

digs deeper, attempting to answer

the question, "why
Missouri?" Could

the answer lie in another UFO hot

spot that occurred halfway across the

country... During a famous series

of sightings in New
York state's Hudson valley?

Over a five-year period,
there were more than 5,000 sighting

reports over the Hudson valley.
One guy described

a gigantic ship
that had, like, 40 to 50 lights under

its underbelly. And he described

it as a gigantic floating city. Is

America being visited by more UFOs

than we ever imagined? How many hot

spots are there across
the United States?

And what can the files in hangar

1 reveal? The answers when we return.

Inside hangar 1, MUFON

is investigating
their 70,000 files, trying to uncover

patterns that may explain America's
UFO hot spots.

While the state of
Missouri is currently home to the

highest concentration of UFO sightings

in the country, including the ongoing
lights of Blue Springs flap,

another UFO hot spot occurs 100 miles
north of New York City and lasts

over five years. Is it possible the events
in Missouri and New York are connected?

The Hudson valley flap started

on new year's Eve 1982. A retired
New York police officer from Kent,

New York, is sitting on his porch,

and he sees a group of lights.

They're pulsating different red, green,
blue.

He thought it was an airplane.

But as they approached, he realized
it was moving too slow

to be a traditional airplane.

So he looks up, and he sees
this giant, v-shaped

craft that has all these lights pulsating

under it, but he wasn't able to
make out the fuselage.

Over the next few months, hundreds of
witnesses claim to have similar sightings,

culminating on march 24, 1983.

Hundreds of people pulled off
to the side of the

road, slammed on their brakes, got

out of the car, looked up of this craft.

One guy described a gigantic
ship that had, like, 40 to 50 lights

under its underbelly. He described
it as a gigantic, floating city.

A local newspaper reports the UFO
sighting. On march 26th, an article

appeared in local newspaper

now, this caught the attention of
some UFO researchers, including Dr.

J. Allen Hynek. For 22 years, Dr.

Hynek served as a scientific consultant

for the U.S. air force's investigation

into UFOs, called "project blue
book." Hynek's team opened a UFO

hotline in the Hudson valley area, and

they received more than 300 calls
related to the march 24th sighting.

And these events continue, leading

to one of the longest lasting UFO flaps

on record. Over a five-year period,
there were more than 5,000 sighting

reports over the Hudson valley.
Many wonder what might be attracting

these UFOs. MUFON investigators believe

one possibility could be the nearby
Indian point nuclear power plant.

50 miles north of New York City is
Buchanan, home of the Indian point

nuclear power plant. Its three reactors

generate 30% of New York
City's power.

On July 14, 1984, security guards

at a nuclear power plant reported
a UFO in restricted airspace over

a nuclear reactor labeled number three.

It was the only working nuclear
reactor at the time.

The craft was
so large that 1 of the 12 security

guards at the nuclear power plant
said, "this craft was so gigantic,"

he "had to pan the camera 180 degrees
just to get the entire craft in frame."

The big concern is, this

object is approaching the only working

nuclear reactor, and the guys
on the ground couldn't figure out

what its intentions were. This giant

boomerang-shaped craft is parked right

above the reactor. And one of the
guards grabs his weapon and starts to

point at it. And when he does, all
the alarms in the facility go off.

Everything goes haywire,
and a massive panic ensues.

And everything inside
goes offline. As soon as the plant

called in military assistance, the UFO

disappeared. Ever since the alleged
encounter, Indian point appears to

have problems with reactor
number three.

But this may not be an
isolated incident.

In fact, hangar 1 files
suggest that many nuclear power

plants across the United States have
experienced similar events.

Could these power plants all be located in
areas known as hot spots?

Currently, there are 65 active nuclear power
plants in the United States with 104

reactors across 31 states. And nearly
every one of these plants across the

United States has experienced a UFO
encounter.

It's very possible that the energy generated
by these plants acts as a beacon in space.

And in fact, hangar 1 files also suggest

that the CIA has studied this connection

between UFOs and nuclear power.
In the 1940s and 1950s, the CIA did

several studies that showed that
UFOs were most commonly seen over atomic

energy installations. I think there
are two reasons why UFOs are over

nuclear plants. One, either they're
testing to see at what stage we're

at, and two, they may occasionally

need to recharge. They need the energy,

and they take it. Nuclear power
plants appear to be a significant

factor that may explain UFO activity in

some hot spots. But does this apply
to every UFO hot spot in the United

States? Sometimes, UFO flaps don't
make sense until we step back and

look at the bigger picture, maybe
across several states over a longer

time period. And that's when the
true picture tends to emerge.

Is it possible that some of the most active
UFO hot spots are also located near

American military bases?

We lost control of over 50 of
our nuclear missiles,

with launch systems being completely
inoperative.

If we don't have
control of those missiles, who does?

And coming up, could some hot

spots be connected to mysterious
animal mutilations?

Often, UFO flaps are
accompanied by cattle mutilations.

Hundreds of birds were seen falling

dead out of the sky. The files explore

more American hot spots when we
return.

MUFON is examining
the files of hangar 1, uncovering

America's UFO hot spots, regions of
the country that experience an unusually

high volume of UFO sightings.
The file suggests that nuclear power

plants, like Indian point in New
York, are hot spots for UFO activity.

But these aren't the only locations
attracting UFOs. MUFON reveals that

many UFO sightings also occur near
military installations, specifically

those with nuclear weapons.

October 23, 2010, Warren air force base in

Cheyenne, Wyoming, is reported to
experience a near disastrous event.

On this particular evening, a number

of on-duty air force personnel spotted

a huge, cigar-shaped craft over

the base. They were completely perplexed

as to what it could be. And during
this incident, Warren air force base

suffered one of the most dramatic

missile communication malfunctions ever.

The computers controlling the
launch control mechanism within the

nuclear silos... five of those

computers went offline. And that rippled

through the system, and eventually,
- 50 missiles went offline.

There are approximately 450 ICBMs in

America's nuclear arsenal, some with
multiple warheads. Roughly 150 of

those missiles are located at Warren
air force base, making it one of the

largest nuclear missile bases in America.

At this point, the base had
to go launch facility down.

we lost control of over 50 of our
nuclear missiles, with launch systems

being completely inoperative, which is

a terrifying situation. One military
officer reported that they had never

experienced anything like this
before. He said, quote... We can deal

with maybe five, six, or seven at a
time, but we've never lost complete

command and control and
functionality of 50 ICBMs.

According to reports,
president Obama is briefed that 1/9

of the United States nuclear arsenal
has been mysteriously disabled.

If we don't have control of those
missiles, who does? The air force

officially states that the disruption
is caused by a computer malfunction

and is corrected in less than an hour.

However, MUFON's investigation
suggests that this statement may not

disclose everything that occurred
that day.

Two missile technicians came

to MUFON anonymously and reported
these objects being seen over the

base before and during the actual
missile shutdown. They revealed that

a massive power failure caused those
missiles to go offline, and it didn't

take hours. It took days to get
it back up and running due to some

strange electrical interference. The
technicians felt that it is possible

that the missiles were remotely
targeted. So there are two schools

of thought here. One is that this is
an accidental shutdown because of an

encounter with a UFO. The other is perhaps they
deliberately intended to shut the base down.

There have been
numerous reports of UFO sightings

in and around Warren air force base
over the years. In fact, MUFON files

indicate that this base is not alone
because, reportedly, every nuclear

missile base in the U.S. has been
visited by UFOs.

Is it possible that our

nuclear warheads might be attracting
UFO activity? And if so, why?

From 2006 to the present, there have been a
number of strikingly identical types of UFO

sightings over many of American nuclear
missile sites.

UFO activity over
nuclear military bases can actually

be traced back to the 1950s. Captain

Edward ruppelt, the first chief of the

air force's UFO investigation group,
project Blue Book, actually spoke

and wrote about this. He stated...
UFOs were seen more frequently around

areas vital to the defence of
the United States.

area, oakridge, and white
sands proving ground rated high.

All of these locations are either

directly or indirectly associated with

America's nuclear weapons program.

Humanity's future is not supposed to
be one in which we are armed to the

teeth with nukes that can blow up the
entire planet. That cannot be our

future. Any intelligent, observing
species seeing us has to know same thing.

Hangar 1 files appear
to uncover a distinct pattern of UFO

hot spots, sightings that occur near
nuclear facilities, indicating that

nuclear energy and weapons may be
major factors in attracting UFOs.

But still, there are other hot spots
across the country that have nothing

to do with nuclear power. Los Angeles
county sits right in the middle

of the San Andreas fault zone. And
people report feeling tremors every year.

L.A. is the third largest hot
spot in the United States.

It has reported 5,000 UFO sightings to date.
Could there be a hidden connection

between the immense natural power of
major fault lines and UFO sightings,

specifically in Colorado and California?

The frightening connection
between UFOs and earthquakes - when

we return.

Throughout the United States, there

are regions that experience more
UFO activity than others. These

active areas are called hot spots.

An investigation into hangar 1
files suggests

there may be a connection between
these hot spots and nuclear energy.

Specifically, at nuclear missile
bases and power plants.

But as MUFON digs deeper,
another pattern begins to emerge,

suggesting that a very different type
of energy may also attract UFOs.

Denver, Colorado, November 2011.

On November 11, 2011,

an anonymous man sent a video to a local
news station. And this man claimed

that he'd captured high-quality video
of a UFO that was appearing over

downtown Denver. We first told you
about these strange sightings in the

mile-high skies after a Denver man,
who does not want to be identified,

brought us his home video. He claims
that he saw this UFO multiple times a

week, and it always appeared around noon.

His video seemed to show that a UFO
was launching and landing somewhere in city.

it was displaying such astronomical
movements that it defied gravity and physics.

Denver's UFO activity may be
related to another Colorado hot spot,

50 miles south of Denver in the San
Luis valley.

A look at the geography
provides one interesting theory.

Could this region's natural magnetic
energy be attracting UFOs?

Deep within

the earth, there are vast electrical
currents, and electrical currents

generate so the earth generates a
huge magnetic field that's shaped

sort of similar to a cored apple. The
Aurora borealis and its Southern

counterpart, the Aurora australis,
are visual confirmations of earth's

magnetic field. While the entire earth

generates electromagnetic energy
fields, scientists have uncovered

that this valley has its own unique

signature, which creates giant variances

in magnetic energy from extreme
positives in the high mountains to

extreme negatives in the valley. And
these characteristics are similar in

Denver as well. The earth's natural

magnetic energy may be attracting UFOs,

but could there be another factor?

A major seismic fault line in Colorado
may provide a clue.

Colorado's
San Luis valley sits on the rio

grande rift, which is a significant
fault line. It runs from central

Colorado all the way down into Mexico.

Nearly 400 UFO sightings were reported

to us from Denver to Colorado

Springs to the San Luis valley, leading

up to August 23, 2011. And on that
day, the rio grand rift experienced a

5.3 earthquake, the largest earthquake
in that area in 40 years.

Could it be the tectonic tension in the

rio grande rift that is attracting
these UFOs? Hangar 1 files reveal a

pattern of activity connected to major

fault lines, not only in Colorado,
but across the country. There are

four significant fault lines in the

united California's San Andreas fault,

the rio grande rift next to the
San Luis valley, the new Madrid fault

line in southeastern Missouri,
and the ramapo fault that extends

from New Jersey to New York's Hudson
valley. All of these areas show

significant UFO activity.

UFOs are
attracted to energy. This can be a

source of natural energy, like tectonic

plates or electromagnetic fields, or
manmade energy, like nuclear power

plants. The files uncover a distinct
pattern when it comes to energy

sources. Energy, whether natural or

manmade, leads to an increased probability

of UFO activity. More disturbing,
a deeper look suggests that UFO

sightings over nuclear power plants
and missile bases can potentially

initiate near-disastrous events.

And from California to New York,
the files

reveal unusual UFO activity along

America's major fault lines. Are we being

warned of potential dangers? Why? Why
is there an increase of sightings

right before a big earthquake? Or as
some suggest, could UFOs actually

be responsible for triggering earthquakes?

MUFON's investigation returns
to Missouri, home of an unsettling

case that occurred on the new Madrid
fault line.

Inside hangar 1, MUFON

investigators research connections
between America's UFO hot spots. As

they examine the evidence, patterns
begin to emerge... Specifically,

frequent sightings near nuclear power
plants and military installations and

increased activity near earthquake
fault lines.

One such case brings us

back to Missouri and the new Madrid
fault line.

The new Madrid fault line is one of

the most active seismic zones in the
United States. And it happens to

run very close to a major UFO flap

that took place in Missouri.

Southeast Missouri state university,
1973,

Dr. Harley Rutledge begins investigating

a UFO flap occurring between
new Madrid and Cape Girardeau.

Dr. Rutledge was the chairman of the
physics department. In April of 1973,

he put together a scientific team
to study a wave of UFO sightings near

Piedmont, Missouri. This is considered

the very first UFO scientific field study.

Dr. Rutledge called he did
it over a seven-year period with 35

scientists studying over 158 cases.
His team used a variety of scientific

equipment to capture their data,
enabling them to calculate the

object's velocity, distance, and size.

They found themselves constantly

surrounded by these orbs of light, which

he called plasma. Interestingly,
these plasma orbs are similar to the

lights of Blue Springs that would
appear in Missouri 40 years later.

Dr. Rutledge and his team continued

their studies and discovered that these

orbs behave in unusual and
unexpected ways.

They mimicked the movements

of the team on an intelligent level and

responded to light signals. Rutledge
concludes that these orbs are

controlled by some form of intelligent

life. Then in 1976, the sightings escalate.

In march of 1976, there was
a significant increase in the number

of plasma balls seen. And in that

same month, there was a 5.0 earthquake

on the new Madrid fault. And
just as suddenly, the Missouri lights

disappeared. This was the first

earthquake of that magnitude since 1927.

Is it a coincidence that UFO activity
increases as seismic energy builds up?

There was similar activity

in Colorado along the rio grande rift.

UFO sightings increased leading up
to a major earthquake there, just

like in Missouri near the new Madrid
fault line.

Should we be on the lookout

for increased UFO activity along
fault lines? Could this be an

indication that an earthquake may be
imminent?

There are a lot of people

who feel Los Angeles is way overdue

for a major earthquake. Coincidentally,

UFO sightings in the state are
on the rise. From San Diego to Los

Angeles, UFO sightings in the region
have significantly increased over

the last five years.

Santa Monica,
California, December 2010.

Numerous witnesses report
seeing fireballs in the night sky.

The Santa Monica lights

is basically a bunch of people in

a neighborhood capturing UFOs on film,

traveling over the Santa Monica
bay. Multiple witnesses saw a bright

orb in the sky. This orb is circling

in the sky, and then suddenly, it just

splits into two. These fireballs,
as people described them, actually

appeared on two different nights
during the first week of December.

There were so many people trying to
figure out what they saw that the

local news station covered the story.
Many people are talking about these

strange fireballs or lights streaking
across the sky in Santa Monica. The

intriguing lights were caught on
tape, but the question tonight is:

What were they? Los Angeles county
sits right in the middle of the San

Andreas fault zone, and people report
feeling tremors every year. L.A. is

the third largest hot spot in the
United States. It has reported 5,000

UFO sightings to date. Is it possible
that the Santa Monica lights are a

sign that a major earthquake could
soon hit Southern California? If so,

is this evidence of a connection
between UFOs and energy? The question

is: Why? Why are these UFOs showing
up at the same time that missile

bases and nuclear reactors are going
offline? Why is there an increase of

sightings right before a big earthquake?

But there are some who believe
these visits might not just be to

monitor the planet. Another deeper
look at the current Missouri flap

reveals some disturbing evidence.
More than 10,000 fish floated to the

surface, dead. Hundreds of birds were
seen falling dead out of the sky.

Is Missouri's unique location... one
that combines a major fault line, a

nuclear missile base, and a nuclear
power plant... the perfect storm for

attracting more aggressive UFO activity?

that UFOs appear to be attracted to
energy generated by seismic fault

lines, nuclear power plants, and military

bases with nuclear weapons. It is
said that UFOs may have caused near

disasters when interfering with our
nuclear capabilities. But heavy UFO

activity is also tied to other disturbing

consequences, which are occurring
once again in Missouri.

Not only does this current Missouri flap include
orbs of light, triangular craft,

glowing disks, but it also points
to some very strange and disturbing

anomalies. In 2011, in the counties
of Cole, de Soto, and Sullivan, over

the course of ten days, hundreds of
birds were seen falling dead out of

the sky. Equally strange, along the
shores of Blue Springs and Dexter

lakes, more than 10,000 fish floated
to the surface, dead. And while the

fish could be explained perhaps by
the high temperatures in Missouri at

the time, the birds falling from the

sky is still a complete mystery. Could

these animal deaths be related to
the presence of UFOs? One theory on

the birds might be that there's some

kind of disturbance in the atmosphere,

either some kind of a frequency or
nuclear radiation of some sort that

caused this to occur, or possibly,
it was the UFOs themselves. What's

fascinating about Missouri is that
this UFO flap is actually right smack

in the middle of a trifecta of energy
sources. There's the callaway nuclear

power plant in the middle of the
state, Whiteman air force base which

holds some of our nuclear arsenal
in western Missouri, and the new

Madrid fault line that runs up the
eastern side of the state. It appears

that these energy sources are
attracting a variety of UFOs. And the

question is, just what are these UFOs
up to? In addition to Missouri's

dead birds and fish, this UFO flap
may be responsible for an even more

unsettling phenomenon.

July 2013, a Missouri rancher
makes a startling discovery.

July 19, 2013, lyn Mitchell,

a rancher in Henry, Missouri,
made headline news when she reported

a dead cow on her ranch, the second
within ten days, and the third within

two years. A day prior, the cow hadn't

returned with the herd. Now, these
are valuable cattle to lyn, and she

searched her ranch and discovered a
horrific sight. The cow was dead, but

it was no ordinary death. The cow's
udder was sliced from the body, its

genitalia removed, its anus cored,
and the tongue was cut out from deep

within the mouth, and lyn was

absolutely speechless and horrified by

the sight. Often, UFO flaps are
accompanied by cattle mutiliations.

they occur multiple times in some of our
other hot spots.

MUFON investigators
suggest these deaths are not the

result of natural causes. First,

there's no blood found anywhere on the

body or around it. Number two, there
are no footprints or tire tracks

within 100 feet of the body. Could these

cattle mutilations, dead wildlife,
and failures at nuclear facilities

be a sign of extraterrestrial
aggression?

While it's easy to examine

all these events as acts of hostility,

there may be something else going on here.

Imagine a curiosity or a
desire to understand what's going on

on earth. These events may be nothing
more than research. Or is it possible

that UFOs could be attempting to
warn us about something else? There's

plenty of evidence to suggest that
UFOs are attracted to energy sources,

whether natural, like the movement
of tectonic plates, or manmade, as in

our nuclear power plant and military
installations. Remember, each of

these represents a real threat to
mankind, whether from an earthquake,

a nuclear accident, or even the
outbreak of war. It's possible that

UFO visits are here to either monitor
it or teach us to take better care

of our planet.

they're here observing this planet of
ours, this fragile ecosystem that we

are part of. They're seeing these

profoundly dangerous, powerful weapons.

How much of a stretch is it for
us to think that they're maybe

concerned that we don't blow up - the
whole planet?

The reasons behind
these UFO visits remain a mystery,

but MUFON's investigations seem to

point to specific patterns that may

explain why these hot spots occur.

Are they drawn to these regions as an
energy source for their own needs?

Or could they be sending us a message?
Perhaps even a warning?

Regardless, these hot spots continue to exist,
and one of them might be in your own backyard.
