We need your help coming up with a prank
to scare the smirk right off of Snips' smug face!
Then he'll be sleeping with the lights on, and I'll have my revenge!
[laughs maniacally]
Gee, I wish I could.
Maricela's folks are taking us to hear the symphony
in Cannon City on Halloween.
Mm-hmm.
But, Turo, you're the scare-master.
Yeah, we were sure you'd come up with something terrifying,
like reenacting the legend of Sadie Crouthers or something.
Now what are we supposed to do?
Uh...
why not reenact the legend of Sadie Crouthers?
You're a genius.
[gasps] I'm a genius!
Who's Sadie Crouthers?
Only the richest girl in Miner's Grove,
before it became a ghost town.
Sadie's birthday was on Halloween.
Because the other kids in town always went trick-or-treating,
she never got to have a birthday party.
When she turned 13,
she figured her friends were too old for trick-or-treating.
[Lucky] Not her, too!
[Pru] So she threw a party, her first birthday party ever.
But that night, no one came.
Everyone had forgotten her birthday. But Sadie wouldn't believe it.
She was convinced the kids in town had just gotten lost.
So she set out to find them.
[horses neighing]
And she was never seen again.
All they ever found was this--
her necklace made of diamonds.
Now, every Halloween,
Sadie's glowing ghost drives a skeleton horse
through the ruins of Miner's Grove,
searching for guests to bring to her ghostly party.
And legend says if you are in Miner's Grove
on Halloween when the clock strikes eight,
the time Sadie's party was supposed to start,
you are doomed to be her guest...
[gasps]
...for all eternity!
-Eep! -That's so scary, it must be true!
Hmm.
What does that say?
"Sss-kah."
That's no kind of word!
They're initials.
They must stand for a name.
Oh! Like Sadie Crouthers.
Or "Señor Carrots."
Hey! That's Señor Carrots' name!
Snips, don't!
Why? Sadie's not using it.
Señor Carrots could have a fancy nameplate on his stall,
just like the big horses.
That'd be fine!
Don't touch it! It's cursed!
If anyone takes it, Sadie's ghost will take something from them...
whatever they love the most!
Thanks for the heads-up, Pru!
There's no way anyone would be brave enough
to touch it after that warning.
-Right, Snips? -Hmm. Huh?
I'm not planning anything.
Well, better get moseying.
I've got to help Señor Carrots get into his piñata costume
so we can go trick-or-treating.
Bye.
Did you see his face?
There's no way he's not taking the bait.
Then we're all set.
Tonight is gonna be great.
The plan's all set.
Once Snips gets to Miner's Grove, we'll lead him down Main Street.
That's where I'll be with my blowgun.
He'll turn the corner into the alley and-- Abigail! Hey!
Sorry.
But if we're not trick-or-treating, I got to get my candy where I can.
Okay, Pru, you'll be waiting in the alley.
Why do I have to be the coconut chew?
I hate coconut.
Well, I hate purple.
Fine. Pru can be purple. Abigail can be red.
-[Abigail crunching] -Huh?
Oops.
Abigail is green, and I'll be...
-[Abigail gulps] -[gasps]
[groans]
...this thimble, okay?
Everyone happy?
-Super happy. -Yep.
Okay.
Now, once Snips is in the barn, I'll have him cornered.
He'll be terrified.
But what if he's not?
It takes a lot to scare Snips.
And that's why we're going to end the night
at Sadie's house.
